Universal design is an approach to create environments and products that recognizes the diversity of users, regardless of their ability or age. Recently, old person and disabled person rapidly go on increasing in number. So, universal design concept becomes more and more important in product and environment, etc. In this study, we dealt with the universal design problem of microwave oven considering old persons. New design model for microwave oven was developed and evaluated using human factors approach. The principles of universal design was developed through literature survey and questionnaire survey for old persons, and then design alternatives were developed according to these principles. Two experiments were performed in this study. The purpose of the first experiment was to select final design alternative and the experiment was performed using rapid prototypes. The second one was a usability testing for the real model of final alternative. In this experiment, the real model was compared with the existing real product. As the result, the new design model was a little more excellent than the existing model in usability.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the living environment design of orphanage based on universal design. The 3 orphanages which were rebuilded recently was selected and evaluated by checklists. The checklists which are based on 'Universal Design Principles' are consist of 120 items. The major results are summarized as follows: 1) The items related to safety were insufficient such as separation of pedestrian passage, rounded edge. 2) The items related to accessibility were high grade such as width of corridor, curb height. 3) Private zones for sleep, study and storage are needed more and living room is needed more furnitures for activities to increase friendship in the family of orphanage. The results will be expected to make contributions to developing orphanage environment design based on universal design, to understanding the nature of universal design paradigm.

The Universal Dependencies 프로젝트는 현재 71개 언어, 122개 Treebank로 이루어져 있으며, 병렬 언어 처리를 위해 여러 언어에 적용할 수 있는 형태적, 구문론적 특성을 찾는 것을 목표로 한다. 본고는 UD의 형태 태그셋인 Universal POS를 살펴보고, 한국어의 기존 형태 태그셋을 UPOS로 자동 변환하여 적용하는 방안을 제안한다. 영어와 같은 굴절어를 중심으로 구축된 UPOS 체계를 교착어에 속하는 한국어에 적용하기 위해서는 UPOS의 개별 표지와 21세기 세종계획 형태 주석 표지 결합체 간의 일대다 사상을 시도해야 한다.

본 논문에서는 기존에 구축되어 있는 구 구조 기반 구문 분석 태그셋을 Universal Dependency 관계 태그 셋으로 변환하는 방안에 대해 논의하였다. 범언어적으로 활용하기 위해 개발된 Universal Dependency의 관계 태그셋을 한국어에 적용할 때에는 범용 POS 태그셋인 UPOS뿐만 아니라 개별 언어의 특성을 반영하고 있는 XPOS를 반드시 참고해야만 한다. 본 연구에서는 Universal Dependency 관계 태그셋을 한국어 구문 분석 태그셋에 대응시키는 과정에서 생기는 문제점들을 '원시 말뭉치 처리 문제'와 '기구축 구문 태그 말뭉치 오류의 문제'로 나누어 지적하고, 이에 대한 해결책을 제시하였다.

In this paper, a new metric, universal metric, is Proposed for sequential decoding of convolutional decoding. The complexity of Fano metric for Fano's sequential decoding algorithm is compared with that of the proposed universal metric. Since the Fano metric assumes that it has previous knowledge of channel transition probability, the complexity of Fano metric increases as the assumed channel error probability does not coincide with the true channel error probability. However, the universal metric dose not require the previous knowledge of the channel transition probability since it is estimated on a branch by branch basis. It is shown that the complexity of universal metric is much less than that of the Fano metric for bursty noisy channel.

The education for the disables has been eliminated till now, thus, it is very important that we take them as our real citizens and help them to improve their social standings and extend their chances for occupations. It's true that admissions into a university for the disabled have been promoted, but it's also true that their droppings out of college because of physical environments have been frequently found. Without data on the universal education surroundings and full understanding on the handicapped, making up the week points in the current surroundings is not useful for them in essence. This study is on the evaluating the korea national college of rehabilitation & welfare, set up for the disabled, by the universal design standards and analyzing their satisfaction with the education surroundings, in addition to that, improving on methods of universal education surroundings.

We demonstrate a new commercial green phosphorescent organic light emitting device (OLED) in a bottom emission device and top emission microcavity. The bottom and top emitting phosphorescent OLEDs (PHOLED$^{TM}$s) had luminance efficiencies of 60cd/A and 137cd/A respectively, at a luminance of 1,000cd/$m^2$. The top emission microcavity was close to 1953 NTSC color requirements with 1931 CIE color coordinates of 0.231, 0.718. A record green PHOLED lifetime of >3,500hrs to LT95 from 4000cd/$m^2$ is demonstrated for the microcavity device.

유비쿼터스 환경에서의 일반 사용자를 위한 흠 네트워크의 실현은 다양한 가전 제품군의 홈 네트워크 미들웨어들이 표준화되고 상용 장비에도 장착이 되어 실용화된다. 흠 네트워크 환경에서 UpnP (Universal Plug and P1ay) HAVI (Home audio/video interoperability) HNCP(Home Network Control Protocol)등과 같은 개별 단체 표준 미들웨어들을 탑재하고 있는 이종 정보가전기기들 간의 상호연동성을 제공하고，홈 네트워크 미들웨어들을 쉽게 수용하기 위해서 Universal Middleware Bridge 시스템 규격을 ITA 표준안에서 정의하였다. TTA의 Universal Middleware Bridge(UMB)를 표준화로 제안되고 있는 범용 미들웨어 브릿지(UMB)는，SOAP/HTTP 기반의 UMB 메시지 전송/수신 기능을 가지고 있는 Universal Middleware Bridge Core(UMB-C)와 접속 설정 기능과 UMB 메시지를 수신，해석，생성，전송하는 기능을 가지고 있는 Universal Middleware Bridge Adaptor(UMB-A)로 구성 된다. UMB 메시지는 3가지 범주로 분류된 메커니즘이 있다. 첫 번째는 미들혜어의 접속과 해제에 관련된 메커니즘이고，두 번째는 장치 접속/해제에 관한 메커니즘이며，세 번째는 장치에 대한 제어/감시/이벤트에 관한 메커니즘이 있다. 본 논문에서는 미들웨어 운영 메커니즘에 서비스 품질 패키지，경고 메시지에 대한 메커니즘을 추가 설계하였다.

Since aging has become one of most hot and serious issues in the whole global world, universal design as a strategic concept to enable the elderly age in place has received much attention and its importance is getting recognized. Japan has undergone the Aging phenomenon much earlier than Korea and other countries. During that time, through much trials and errors, it accumulated the wisdoms and techniques to precede aging friendly environment and products. Therefore current Japan house is a comprehensive setting which embraces lots of universal design features that has a valuable implication for Korean development that faces fast aging future. The purpose of this study was to delineate characteristics of universal design features appeared in Japanese Model houses. One site of housing park in the city where various model houses of representative housing construction companies was selected as a cluster area for data collecting. Data were collected mainly through field survey at the housing park of Tokyo during November, 2006, and additional data were collected through website and company information of relevant company. Universal design features were extracted for 17 houses of the housing park and sorted and analyzed according to the analysis frame. The frame were made using 2 major clusters; space area, and 8 universal design principle. Results showed a range of universal design feature and its detail universal design principle satisfied. The 8 principle currently developed became to house realistic practical examples and theory became proved its impractical power. The academic, educational and industrial implication were documented.

The primary purpose of this study is to investigate whether Moon Jae-in administration's universal service policy of mobile date to lower communications fares can be justified. To do so, this work takes a look into the key features of mobile data in our society based on a theoretical perspective as well as a practical point of view. Also, it attempts to figure out whether mobile data service should be included in the scope of universal service in Korea by analysing the key features of mobile data and rethinking the basic concepts of universal service. As a result, this work reaches a conclusion that the government should reconsider universal service policy of mobile date and reform a universal service system in a different way.
