Study on Communication Interface of Multiple Smartphones for Unit Control in a PC (PC에서 유닛 제어를 위한 다중 스마트폰의 통신 인터페이스 연구)

  • This study presents the unit control of a PC (Personal Computer) program using multiple smartphones based on ad hoc communication. A design of the data packet that multiple smartphones send to a computer, and a framework that manages and controls the unit in a computer after analyzing the data packet, are proposed. As a result, multiple users are able to control their own units using their smartphones while seeing the monitor connected to a computer. In other words, multiple users can share the same game in a computer or control their units embedded in a system using their smartphones. An experimental result shows that a racing game in a PC can be realized by the proposed communication interface, where four iPhones are used to control their units in a computer. Thus, the proposed framework can be effectively used for unit control in a PC using multiple smartphones.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new method of detecting faults for a power converter unit in Control Rod Control System. The faults of a power converter unit can exert harmful influence upon the operation of Control Rod Drive Mechanisms and the control of the reactor output. This situation makes the quick and correct detection of failures in a power converter unit very important. We devise a new method of fault detection for the digital power controller and improve the drawbacks of the existing fault detector.

  • For this study, a new hydraulic control unit which designed in compact compared to the currently manufactured hydraulic control unit for ABS has been introduced and its experimental model has been made. Based on the basic principle as ABS using braking force characteristics against slip ratio of tire, half car model bench tester were designed and made to make an analysis of braking effect of the new hydraulic control unit. Experiment for slip ratio characteristics of tire has been carried out using half car model bench tester and with the results of this experiment and control experiment of the new hyraulic control unit, the experiment result of the characteristics of tire and control experiment were compared to find out their correspondence. And furthermore, slip ratio characteristics of the new hydraulic control unit has been studied based on the experiment result of slip ratio characteristics of tire through simulation and compared with experiment result.

  • TProduction's adaptation manufactured construction component is enlarged the result of development in the various construction products and technology. But the pre-fabricated unit bathrooms are not used in spite of many advantages which occupies less than 10% of its market share. This study is for the alternative methods through the on-the-spot experiments to lessen resonance of the wall panel in the Unit bathroom. The results are summarized as follows. Unit bathroom was effective in suitableness part noise control performance when attach sound-absorbing materials. But noises control performance was not better than the general used bathroom. When Urethane (egg container pattern) was applied in the unit bathroom, unit bathroom can be expected for utilization in the construction market field.

Design and Implementation of Green Coastal Lighting System for Entrance to Coastal Pier

  • The hardware of an LED lighting control system for coastal lighting at coastal pier entrance consists of a power supply unit, an AVR control unit, a CLCD output unit, an LED control unit, a scenario selection switch unit, and an operation speed display unit. It is made of an 8-channel. The CPU used ATmega128 and the FET was used to control the current signal. To operate the CPU, DC 12V was converted to DC 5V using a regulator 7805. A heat sink was used to remove heat generated in the FET. By connecting the load LED module to the manufactured 8-channel LED lighting control system, the operation was confirmed through various production scenarios. In addition, a control system was designed to show the most suitable color for the atmosphere of the coastal pier according to the input value of temperature and illumination using a fuzzy control system. Computer simulation was then conducted. Results confirmed that fuzzy control did not need to store many data inputs due to characteristics of artificial intelligence and that it could efficiently represent many output values with simple fuzzy rules.

  • The design of a control unit for a playback-type industrial robot is studied. Implemented for the cylindrical-coordinate type industrial robot with 5 degrees of freedom, the control unit constructed for the study consists of (i) z-80 .mu.p-based .mu.-computer control system (ii) Teach-Box for work command, and (iii) various softwares for generating signals for servo driving unit and operating the robot as playback-type. Softwares are developed by using high level Basic Language and low level z-80 Assembly Language for ease of programming and speed of program execution. To show the effectiveness, and example is included.

  • In a conventional system, hydraulic unit pumps out pressurized oil when the power use is not even necessary. As a result, it causes much power loss. This study is on the proposal of new hydraulic unit which controls the revolution of the pump in order to produce proper power needed and to have good response characteristic. In addition, the existing control methods such as PID control method, fuzzy control method, and adaptive control method are applied to the proposed hydraulic unit. Then the best control method is selected and the controller is developed to realize minimum power loss.

  • This paper proposes the control unit of a 32-bit high-performance RISC type microprocessor. This control unit controls the whole data path of target processor and on chip instruction/data caches in 4-stage pipelined scheme. For the improvement of speed, large parts of data path and control unit are designed by domino-CMOS and hard-wired circuit technology. First, in this paper, target processor's instruction set and data path are defined, and next, all signals needed to control the data path are analyzed. The decoder of control unit and clock generated logic block are implemented in DCAL(Dynamic CMOS Array Logic) with modified clock scheme for the purpose of speed up and supporting RISC processor's pipelined architecture efficiently.

  • In this paper, we describe the design and manufacture of a control system for an automatic loading system that inserts and removes workpieces after machining. The control system was manufactured using DSP for high speed and consists of a power unit, a control unit, a communication unit, and a display unit. We connected the control system to the mechanical system of the automatic workpiece loader to test the characteristics, which allowed us to raise and lower the automatic workpiece loading system to the desired position. The successful test demonstrates that we can use the control system to control the workpiece automatic loading system.
