전기비저항과 암반등급의 상관관계에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Correlation of Resistivity and Rock Quality)

  • Electrical resistivity is one of physical property of the earth and measured by electrical resistivity survey, electrical resistivity logging and laboratory test. Recently, electrical resistivity is widely used in determination of rock quality in road and railway tunnel design. To get more reliable rock quality data from electrical resistivity, it needs a lot of test and study on correlation of resistivity and rock quality. Firstly, we did rock property test in laboratory, such as uniaxial compressive strength(UCS), p wave velocity, Young's modulus and electrical resistivity. We correlate each test results and we found out that electrical resistivity has exponentially related to UCS and P wave velocity and linearly related to Young's modulus. And we accomplished electrical resistivity survey in field site and carried out electrical resistivity logging at in-situ area. Also we peformed rock classification, such as RQD, RMR and Q-system and we correlate electrical resistivity to rock classification results. We found out that electrical resistivity logging data are highly correlate to RQD, Q and RMR. Also we found out that electrical resistivity survey data are lower than electrical resistivity logging data when there are faults or fractures. And it cause electrical resistivity survey data to lowly correlate to RQD, Q and RMR.

폴리머 물질 첨가를 통한 중금속 오염 광미의 고형화 처리 (Addition of Polymeric Materials to Binders for Solidification of Heavy Metal Contaminated Mine Tailings)

  • Polymeric materials in addition to Portland cement and hydrated limes were used to solidify heavy metal contaminated tailings from five abandoned metal mines in Korea. Mine tailings were mixed separately with Portland cement and hydrated lime at a concentration of 20-30 wt% and 6-9 wt%, respectively and Ethylene Vinyl Acetate(EVA) powder was added to each specimen at a ratio of 2.5 and 5.0 wt% to binders. Polymer-added and polymer-free solidified forms were evaluated for their appropriateness in accordance with the suggested test methods. Regardless of addition of polymeric materials, all solidified forms satisfy the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS) requirements(0.35MPa) for land reclamation and show remarkably reduced leaching concentrations of heavy metals such as As, Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn less than the toxicity criteria of Korean standard leaching test(KSLT). The addition of polymeric materials increased the UCS of solidified forms to improve a long-term stability of solidified mine tailings.

  • TBM 공법은 발파 공법에 비해 굴착 중 소음과 진동 수준이 낮고, 안정성이 높은 터널 굴착 공법이며, 전세계적으로 터널 프로젝트에 TBM 공법을 적용하는 사례가 증가하는 추세이다. 디스크 커터는 TBM의 커터헤드에 장착되는 굴착 도구로 지속적으로 막장면 지반과 상호작용하며, 이때 필연적으로 마모가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 지질 조건과 TBM 운영파라미터, 머신러닝 알고리즘들을 이용하여 디스크 커터 마모를 정량적으로 예측하였다. 디스크커터 마모 예측의 입력변수 중 UCS 데이터의 수가 다른 기계 데이터 및 마모 데이터에 비해 매우 부족하기 때문에, 먼저 TBM 기계 데이터를 이용하여 전체 구간에 대한 UCS 추정을 진행하고, 완성된 전체 데이터로 마모율 계수 예측을 수행하였다. 마모율 계수 예측 모델의 성능을 비교해 본 결과 XGBoost 모델의 성능이 가장 높게 나타났으며, 복잡한 예측 모델의 해석을 위해 SHapley Additive exPlanation (SHAP) 분석을 진행하였다.

Thermographic analysis of failure for different rock types under uniaxial loading

  • Mining activities focus on the production of mineral resources for energy generation and raw material requirements worldwide and it is a known fact that shallow reserves become scarce. For this reason, exploration of new resources proceeds consistently to meet the increasing energy and raw material demand of industrial activities. Rock mechanics has a vital role in underground mining and surface mining. Devices and instruments used in laboratory testing to determine rock mechanics related parameters might have limited sensing capability of the failure behavior. However, methodologies such as, thermal cameras, digital speckle correlation method and acoustic emission might enable to investigate the initial crack formation in detail. Regarding this, in this study, thermographic analysis was performed to analyze the failure behaviors of different types of rock specimens during uniaxial compressive strength experiments. The energy dissipation profiles of different types of rocks were characterized by the temperature difference recorded with an infrared thermal camera during experiments. The temperature increase at the failure moment was detected as 4.45℃ and 9.58℃ for andesite and gneiss-schist specimens, respectively. Higher temperature increase was observed with respect to higher UCS value. Besides, a temperature decreases of about 0.5-0.6℃ was recorded during the experiments of the marble specimens. The temperature change on the specimen is related to release of radiation energy. As a result of the porosity tests, it was observed that increase in the porosity rate from 5.65% to 20.97% can be associated to higher radiation energy released, from 12.68 kJ to 297.18 kJ.

선균열공법을 활용한 고강도 암반구간 로드헤더 굴진효율 향상방안 연구 (The Improvement of Excavation Efficiency of Roadheader by Using Pre-Cracked Method in High Strength Rock)

  • 근래 들어 도심지 지하공간에 대한 수요가 증가함에 따라 도심지 터널계획이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히 로드헤더 굴착공법은 도심지 터널에 대한 적용성이 우수하여 적용사례가 증가하고 있다. 그러나 로드헤더 굴착공법은 일축압축강도 100 MPa 이상인 고강도 암반구간에 대한 굴착효율이 저하되는 한계가 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 고강도 암반구간에 대한 로드헤더 굴착효율 개선방안으로 선균열공법을 제안하고 적용성을 평가하였다. 이를 위해 일축압축강도와 RQD를 함께 고려하여 순굴착속도를 산정할 수 있는 Bilgin 예측식을 활용하여 순굴착속도를 평가하였다. 동일한 일축압축강도인 암반조건에서 RQD가 감소할수록 순굴착속도가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 고강도 암반에서 절리가 증가할수록 로드헤더 굴착효율이 증가하는 것으로 판단된다. 또한 현장시험을 통해 고강도 암반구간에 대한 선균열공법의 현장 적용성을 검증하였다. 균열유도공을 중심으로 균열대가 형성되는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이를 통해 고강도 암반구간에 선균열공법 적용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Effects of number and angle of T Shape non persistent cracks on the failure behavior of samples under UCS test

  • Experimental and numerical simulation were used to investigate the effects of angle and number of T shape non-persistent crack on the shear behaviour of crack's bridge area under uniaxial compressive test. concrete samples with dimension of 150 mm×150 mm×40 mm were prepared. Within the specimen, T shape non-persistent notches were provided. 16 different configuration systems were prepared for T shape non-persistent crack based on two and three cracks. In these configurations, the length of cracks were taken as 4 cm and 2 cm based on the cracks configuration systems. The angle of larger crack related to horizontal axis was 0°, 30°, 60° and 90°. Similar to cracks configuration systems in the experimental tests, 28 models with different T shape non-persistent crack angle were prepared in numerical model. The length of cracks were taken as 4 cm and 2 cm based on the cracks configuration systems. The angle of larger crack related to horizontal axis was 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75° and 90°. Tensile strength of concrete was 1 MPa. The axial load was applied to the model. Displacement loading rate was controlled to 0.005 mm/s. Results indicated that the failure process was significantly controled by the T shape non-persistent crack angle and crack number. The compressive strengths of the specimens were related to the fracture pattern and failure mechanism of the discontinuities. Furthermore, it was shown that the compressive behaviour of discontinuities is related to the number of the induced tensile cracks which are increased by increasing the crack number and crack angle. The strength of samples decreased by increasing the crack number. In addition, the failure pattern and failure strength are similar in both methods i.e. the experimental testing and the numerical simulation methods (PFC2D).

쉴드 TBM 굴진 주요 영향인자분석 및 굴진율 예측모델 제시 (Study on the effective parameters and a prediction model of the shield TBM performance)

  • 도심지 터널 공사가 많아지면서 이에 따른 소음, 진동, 교통불편 및 민원 저감을 위해 TBM 굴착이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 추세에도 불구하고 국내 TBM 공동구 설계 및 시공을 위한 기준들은 대부분 해외기술(일본, 독일 등)을 이용하고 있어 국내환경을 고려하지 못하고 있다. 특히, 공동구 TBM 설계의 주요 기준이 되는 굴진율은 대부분 일축압축강도만으로 산정되며 이마저도 실제 현장 특성과 맞지 않아 개선이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 국내 현장에 적합한 굴진율을 예측하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 시공 중인 소단면 쉴드 TBM 굴착 현장의 지반 및 굴진데이터를 수집하고 상관관계 분석을 통해 굴진율에 영향을 미치는 주요인자를 파악하였다. 도출된 영향인자들은 통계적 분석기법을 기반으로 한 다중선형 회귀분석에 적용되어 굴진율을 예측하는 회귀식의 예측변수로 이용되었다. 결과적으로 회귀분석을 통해 도출된 회귀식은 일축압축강도와 절리간격을 예측변수로 추정되었으며, 해외 경험식과 비교하여 국내현장 굴진율의 예측 정확도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다만, 이 회귀식을 타 국내 현장에 적용할 경우 예측오차가 다소 증가하였다. 회귀식이 갖는 이와 같은 적용 한계를 개선하기 위해서는 추가적인 연구를 통해 현장조건에 제약을 받지 않는 굴진율 예측모델 도출이 필요할 것으로 보인다.

Several models for tunnel boring machine performance prediction based on machine learning

  • This paper aims to show how to use several Machine Learning (ML) methods to estimate the TBM penetration rate systematically (TBM-PR). To this end, 1125 datasets including uniaxial compressive strength (UCS), Brazilian tensile strength (BTS), punch slope index (PSI), distance between the planes of weakness (DPW), orientation of discontinuities (alpha angle-α), rock fracture class (RFC), and actual/measured TBM-PRs were established. To evaluate the ML methods' ability to perform, the 5-fold cross-validation was taken into consideration. Eventually, comparing the ML outcomes and the TBM monitoring data indicated that the ML methods have a very good potential ability in the prediction of TBM-PR. However, the long short-term memory model with a correlation coefficient of 0.9932 and a route mean square error of 2.68E-6 outperformed the remaining six ML algorithms. The backward selection method showed that PSI and RFC were more and less significant parameters on the TBM-PR compared to the others.

미소파괴음을 이용한 KURT 화강암의 손상에 관한 정량적 평가 (Quantitative Damage Assessment in KURT Granite by Acoustic Emission)

  • 본 연구에서는 미소파괴음을 활용하여 한국 원자력 연구원 지하처분연구시설에서 채취한 화강암의 손상도를 정량적으로 평가하였다. 해석결과 균열손상기준은 균열개시, 균열손상응력은 일축압축강도의 약 48%, 72%이며 균열손상기준에 따른 암석의 손상은 시료에 가해지는 응력이 균열손상응력을 초과하면서부터 0.06에서 일축압축강도의 80%, 90%에서는 0.34, 0.60로 급격히 증가하였다. 이는 축 방향 변형계수를 활용한 손상도 결과와 유사하여 단순회귀분석 결과 두 기법의 상관관계는 0.90로 상관성은 매우 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이에 미소파괴음 에너지를 활용한 손상도 결과와 모어-쿨롱 파괴규준을 이용하여 응력수준에 따른 축 방향 변형계수, 암석의 강도, 점착력, 내부마찰각 변화를 분석한 결과 균열손상응력 이전까지는 원결과보다 각각 6%, 12%, 7%, 3% 감소하였지만 일축압축강도의 90%수준에서는 69%, 72%, 62%, 24%로 감소의 기울기는 급격히 증가하였다.
