Decision Feedback Algorithms using Recursive Estimation of Error Distribution Distance (오차분포거리의 반복적 계산에 의한 결정궤환 알고리듬)

  • As a criterion of information theoretic learning, the Euclidean distance (ED) of two error probability distribution functions (minimum ED of error, MEDE) has been adopted in nonlinear (decision feedback, DF) supervised equalizer algorithms and has shown significantly improved performance in severe channel distortion and impulsive noise environments. However, the MEDE-DF algorithm has the problem of heavy computational complexity. In this paper, the recursive ED for MEDE-DF algorithm is derived first, and then the feed-forward and feedback section gradients for weight update are estimated recursively. To prove the effectiveness of the recursive gradient estimation for the MEDE-DF algorithm, the number of multiplications are compared and MSE performance in impulsive noise and underwater communication environments is compared through computer simulation. The ratio of the number of multiplications between the proposed DF and the conventional MEDE-DF algorithm is revealed to be $2(9N+4):2(3N^2+3N)$ for the sample size N with the same MSE learning performance in the impulsive noise and underwater channel environment.

  • In October 2011, a commercialized 100kW class floating photovoltaic system positive plant was installed at Hapcheon dam a multi-purpose reservoir the first time ever in the nation. Floating photovoltaic system differs in water float, mooring device and underwater cable process from land photovoltaic system. As for land and building photovoltaic power generation equipments, many installation cases and skilled experiences are available, and thus installation is not difficult. However, commercial power generation floating photovoltaic system, which is attempted for the first time in the nation, requires to be designed and installed through a series of processes like technical review and verification of data by process in comparison with similar cases. The structure of floating photovoltaic system, an equipment for float photovoltaic module and other electrical equipment, is required to withstand weather environments like wind or typhoon etc and yet not affect water quality negatively, and for implementation of this system, construction efficiency and economy etc should be considered comprehensively. In this paper, the techniques of installing floating photovoltaic structure, mooring device, underwater cable, electrical equipment and remote monitoring control system are explained. The 100kW floating PV system is operating with 15% average capacity factor.

Development of Slowly moving Short Baseline Underwater Acoustic Positioning System for Estimating the Position of Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (무인잠수정의 위치추정을 위한 동적단기선 방식의 수중초음파 위치추적시스템 개발)

  • 본 논문에서는 수중에서 이동하는 무인잠수정 및 수중이동체의 위치를 측정하는 방법 중의 하나인 동적 단기선 방식(SBL)에 의한 무인잠수정의 위치측정에 대한 방법을 하이드로폰과 DAQ(Data Aquisition) 시스템을 이용하여 수조에서 테스트를 수행하였고, 실 해역에서의 실험을 실시하였다. 실험을 위해서 4개의 센서가 수조의 벽면에 고정이 되어 있으며, 이동체와 고정된 4개의 센서가 신호를 송수신함으로써 상호간의 위치추적이 가능하게 하는 시뮬레이션을 실시하였으며, 제안하는 SBL시스템과 장기선 방식(Long baseline)을 비교하기위한 시뮬레이션을 실시하여 두 시스템을 비교하였다. 측정된 신호는 DAQ 시스템을 이용하여 데이터를 취득하였고, Labview 프로그램을 이용하여 실시간으로 무인잠수정의 위치를 추정하였다. 위치추정에 사용된 알고리즘은 삼각측량법에 의한 방법을 사용하였으며, X, Y방향에 대해서는 비교적 오차가 적은 추정 결과를 나타내었으나 Z방향에 대하여서는 큰 오차를 보여 데이터로 사용할 수 가 없었다. 이는 수중이동체의 수심측정 센서를 이용하여 보완할 수 있을 것으로 본다. 향후 연구로는 위치추정 알고리즘을 보완하여 실제 선박 선저부에 센서가 부착되었을 경우에 대한 적용연구를 진행할 예정이며, 위치추정 알고리즘을 발전시켜 3차원에서의 정확한 위치 추적을 가능하게 할 예정이다.

A Cooperative ARQ Scheme for Single-hop and Multi-hop Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks (단일-홉과 다중-홉 수중 음향 센서 네트워크에서의 효율적인 협력 재전송 기법)

  • We propose an efficient cooperative ARQ (Automatic Repeat reQuest) scheme for single-hop and multi-hop underwater acoustic communications, in which cooperative nodes are used to provide more reliable alternative paths for a specific source-to-destination connection. This alternative path has higher channel quality than that of the direct source-destination path. In addition, during a packet-relay through multiple hops, the typical acknowledgement (ACK) signal is replaced with overhearing data packet returned back from the next hop. The usage of overhearing as an ACK improves the system performance. In this paper, we evaluate the proposed scheme by comparing it with a conventional S&W ARQ in terms of throughput efficiency. Computer simulation results show that the proposed cooperative retransmission scheme can significantly improve the throughput by increasing the probability of successful retransmission.

Uncoupled Solution Approach for treating Fluid-Structure Interaction due to the Near-field Underwater Explosion (근거리 수중폭발에 따른 유체-구조 상호작용 취급을 위한 비연성 해석방법)

  • Because the water exposed to shock waves caused by an underwater explosion cannot withstand the appreciable tension induced by the change in both pressure and velocity, the surrounding water is cavitated. This cavitating water changes the transferring circumstance of the shock loading. Three phenomena contribute to hull-plate damage; initial shock loading and its interaction with the hull plate, local cavitation, and local cavitation closure then shock reloading. Because the main concern of this paper is local cavitation due to a near-field underwater explosion, the water surface and the waves reflected from the sea bottom were not considered. A set of governing equations for the structure and the fluid were derived. A simple one-dimensional infinite plate problem was considered to verify this uncoupled solution approach compared with the analytic solution, which is well known in this area of interest. The uncoupled solution approach herein would be useful for obtaining a relatively high level of accuracy despite its simplicity and high computational efficiency compared to the conventional coupled method. This paper will help improve the understanding of fluid-structure interaction phenomena and provide a schematic explanation of the practical problem.

A Study on Stabilization of Underwater TAS Winch System Deploy/Recover Operation Performance (수중용 TAS윈치 전개/회수 성능 안정화 방안에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes the stabilization of underwater TAS winch system Deploy/Recover operation performance. TAS winch installed on the stern of submarine performs to deploy/recover sensor, towing cable and rope tail which is deployed from the stern and separated from submarine itself. Also TAS winch provides transmission path of power to the sensor and data transmitting/receiving path which data are acquired from underwater environment like sound, depth and temperature. At the step of TAS winch evaluation test, sporadic standstill and rotating speed oscillation phenomenon were occurred. Winch motor provides the available torque to deploy/recover TAS and root cause analysis to the winch motor was done to find exact reason to sporadic malfunction. When winch motor was disassembled, eccentricity of rotor, slip-ring and the other composition part for winch motor were found. These might cause magnetic field distortion. To make TAS winch system more stable and block magnetic field distortion, this paper suggests methods to enhance fixing status installed in winch motor. For reliable data acquisition for TAS winch operation, the deploy/recover function of the improved type of TAS winch was verified in LBTS making similar condition with sea status. At the end of stage, improved type of TAS winch was tested on some functions not only deploy/recover function, but sustainability of TAS operation on specific velocity, steering angle of submarine in the sea trial. Improved type of TAS winch was verified in accordance with design requirement. Also, validity of suggested methods were verified by the sea trial.

A Study on Flow Characteristics around Foot to Investigate Principle of Underwater Exercise for Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients (류마티스 관절염 환자의 수중운동 원리 규명을 위한 발 주위 유동 특성 연구)

  • There are positive effects, such as pain reduction, when rheumatism patients exercise in water, but the cause of the pain reduction is unclear, and research on this is inadequate. This study examined the flow of the surface of the foot and the principles of pain relief. Unsteady simulations were conducted to analyze the flow, which was performed by repeatedly setting the movement of the foot raising and descending three times. Pressure fluctuations and frequencies were analyzed by designating pressure points at the painful location. The results showed that a positive and negative pressure of approximately ±500Pa was applied overall. A pressure of approximately ±2000Pa was applied when the direction of movement was changed. A frequency of approximately 35 to 80Hz was generated in the area where rheumatoid arthritis pain frequently occurs. The effects of reducing pain could be predicted when continuous pressure fluctuations and frequencies are applied repeatedly to the painful location, blood circulation promotion. The results could be used as basic data to understand the principles of aquatic exercise and support the development of underwater exercise programs and developing related medical equipment.

A Study on Design Process and Control Test of Manta-type Unmanned Underwater Test Vehicle (Manta 형상 무인잠수정의 설계과정 및 제어실험에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 Manta 형상 무인잠수정의 자유항주모델을 설계하였고 이를 이용하여 제어실험을 실시하였다. 제작된 MUUTV모형은 직진방향으로 1개의 추진기를 가지고 있으며, 승강타와 방향타를 이용하여 수심 및 방향 제어를 실시하게된다. MUUTV는 수심제어시 사용되는 수심을 측정하기 위한 압력센서, 방향제어를 위해 방향각 측정을 위한 마그네틱 컴파스가 설치되어있으며, 잠수정의 전체적인 운용을 위한 Windows XP기반의 소형 On-board PC104가 장착되어있다. 시뮬레이션에 사용된 6자유도 운동모델은 PMM실험과 이론적 추정을 통해 얻어진 유체동역학계수와 파라미터를 이용하여 구성된다. 잠수정의 운동성능과 제어응답을 비교하기 위해 PID, 슬라이딩모드, 퍼지, 제어기가 설계되었으며, 이를 통해 제어 성능을 비교하고자 하였다. 또한 제작된 모델을 이용하여 수심 및 방향제어 실험을 수조에서 실시하였다.

Robust Controller Design of Manta-type Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (만타형 잠수정의 강인 제어기 설계)

  • 본 논문에서는 이전에 개발된 만타형 무인 잠수정의 수학적 모델을 기초로 하여 모델 불확실성과 외란이 존재하는 경우에 강인한 제어 성능을 나타낼 수 있는 강인 제어기를 설계하였다. 제어기 설계는 수심 제어와 방향 제어로 분리하여 수행하였고, 이를 위하여 6자유도의 수학적 운동 방정식을 수심 및 방향 제어를 위한 운동 방정식으로 각각 표현하였다. 운동 방정식에 나타나는 유체력 계수에 불확실성이 존재하고 운항 중 발생하는 조류등을 외란이 존재하는 것으로 생각하고 강인 제어기를 설계하였다. 강인 제어기의 전체적인 구조는 백스테핑 방법을 사용하였고, 모델 불확실성과 조류를 외란으로 가정하여 외란의 영향을 효과적으로 감쇠시킬 수 있는 $L_2$-gain 분석 개념을 이용하였다. 시뮬레이션은 제어기 설계에 사용된 유체력 계수에 실제값과 차이를 주었고, 조류의 모델을 포함시켜 수행하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 모델 불확실성과 외란의 존재하는 경우에도 제어 성능에 큰 변화가 나타나지 않는 것을 보여 주었다.

Feature Extraction and Classification of Underwater Transient Signal using MFCC and Wavelet Packet Based on Entropy (MFCC과 엔트로피 기반의 웨이블릿 패킷 기법을 이용한 수중 천이신호의 특징추출 및 식별)

  • 본 논문에서는 실제 수중 환경에서 선박 또는 잠수함으로부터 발생하는 인위적인 천이신호와 돌고래, 새우 등의 해양 생물로부터 발생하는 천이신호들을 식별하기 위한 특징벡터 추출 기법을 제안하였다. MFCC와 엔트로피 기반의 웨이블릿 패킷 기법을 이용하여 특징을 추출하고, 이 두 특징들을 동시에 적용하여 수중 천이신호를 식별하고자 한다. 기존의 방법인 MFCC와 웨이블릿 패킷 기법과 이 두 방법을 동시에 적용했을 때의 식별률을 비교하였고, 전방향 신경회로망(feed-forward neural network)을 그 특징벡터의 성능을 평가하기 위한 식별기로 사용하였다.
