This paper proposes a process to calculate the amount of construction and demolition (C&D) of underground vertical extension methods through considering the characteristics of used construction and demolished materials. The underground vertical extension methods analyzed in this paper were the bottom-up, normal top-down, and top-down methods with multi-post downward (MPD). In order to check the applicability of the proposed process, 24 illustrative examples were generated. The amount of C&D waste of the illustrative examples were calculated and compared. As the results, the top-down method with MPD was the most efficient method to reduce the amount of C&D waste.

There are many demands for vertical extension construction method in domestic large cities. In this paper, we analyzed and presented the results of examining the cases of ground floor extension and basement extension using the jack pile method. Since the Jack Pile method presses in all the piles without excavating the ground, the bearing capacity of the all the piles can be checked. It was investigated as a safe construction method unlike other small-diameter pile construction methods during underground extension.

This study is to analyze the remodeling method of library in terms of space extension method and urban regeneration by repurposing function in unused facilities through case study. In many case of library extension, horizontal extensions are more frequent than vertical extensions, because there are limits to extend vertically due to high live load estimation by book stacks. Extension schemes was organized by new building extension method in connection with existing buildings, attaching method small scaled mass or linear mass to existing building, connecting method a plurality of existing small buildings, vertical extension method on the top of the structure, underground extension method using special structure. Unused facility remodeling to the library, large scaled buildings can be developed completely to the function of the library through the relocation of the space, while small scaled building needs spatial extension. In the case of spatial extension, existing space that was used for other purposes can be used as a reading room or office, avoiding high live load estimation.

국민소득의 증가로 인한 개개인의 보유 차량의 증가는 심각한 주차장 부족현상을 초래하였다. 특히 노후공동주택의 경우 인근도로까지 주차장으로 변해버리면서 심각한 교통체증을 겪고 있는 것은 물론 화재 등 위급 상황 발생에 대처하지 못하는 사회적인 문제를 야기하고 있다. 이러한 문제점에 대한 대책으로 노후 공동주택의 리모델링이 논의되고 있으나·주차장확대 시공에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 노후 공동주택 리모델링에 관한 설문조사 결과 공동주택 리모델링 시 최우선 개선사항으로 주차장 부족이 30% 이상의 비율을 차지하였고 주차장확대 방법은 지하수평확대방식 중 직접진입방식을 선호하였다. 지하직접진입방식은 주차장에 서 엘리베이터를 통해 단위세대로 직접 진입하는 방식으로 엘리베이터의 연장운행이 필요하다. 하지만 엘리베이터확장을 위한 체계적인 공정이 정립되어 있지 않고 시공사례가 부족하여 비효율적으로 엘리베이터 확장이 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 효율적인 엘리베이터확장 공사를 위한 검토항목을 제시하기 위해 공정을 재분석하였고 전문가의 면담을 통해 공정별로 관리적 측면, 기술적 측면의 검토항목을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 공동주택의 지하주차장 증설에 따른 엘리베이터확장 공사 시 참고자료로 활용 될 것이다.
