대학도서관 사서들의 인구적 특성과 성격유형 및 인지양식이 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Demographic Characteristics, Personality Types, and Cognitive Styles Affecting Job Satisfaction of University Librarians)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 대학도서관 사서들의 인구적 특성, 성격유형 및 인지양식 등의 개인차 요인들이 개별적 혹은 복합적으로 어떠한 차이로 직무만족에 영향을 미치고, 어떤 작용효과를 나타내는지 그 관계를 밝히는데 있다. 독립변수는 인구적 특성(성별 연령, 근무년수, 직위), 성격유형(A형, B형), 인지양식(장의존적, 장독립적)의 3개 변수를 설정하고 종속변수는 직무만족이다. 직무만족에 영향을 미치는 5개 요인은 직무자체, 급여, 승진, 관리감독 및 동료관계이다. 데이터는 부산시내에 소재하는 11개 4년제대학 도서관의 사서 166명을 대상으로 하였으며 수집된 데이터는 SPSSWIN을 이용하여 통계처리하였다.

성격유형이 갈등관리유형 선호에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (An Effect of the Personality Types on the Preference of the Conflicts Handling Styles)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how the organizational structure, task group functioning and need styles have influence on the conflicts handling styles such as integrating, avoiding, dominating, obliging and compromising as the employee's personality engaged in the service industry. This study uses the hierarchical regression analysis method. Data were collected by the survey method from employees engaged in the service industry located Seoul, the Province of Gyeonggi, and the Province of Gangwon. The study result shows that to the employees with the type A style, need styles are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as avoiding. But to the employees with the type B style, need styles are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as integrating and avoiding. On the other hand the result shows that the higher the need for achievement and the lower the need for autonomy, employees with the type B style prefer integrating styles to other conflicts handling styles. Or the higher the need for dominance, employees with the type B style prefer dominating styles to other conflicts handling styles. And the higher the need for dominance, employees with the type A style prefer dominating styles to other conflicts handling styles. The study result shows that to the employees with the type A and type X style, task group functioning are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as obliging and compromising. But to the employees with the type B style, task group functioning are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as obliging and dominating. On the other hand the result shows that the lower faith in peers and management and the higher confidence in peers and management, employees with the type B style prefer obliging style to other conflicts handling styles. But the higher group homogeneity and group cohesiveness, the lower faith in peers and management and the higher confidence in peers and management, employees with the type X style prefer obliging style to other conflicts handling styles. And the higher confidence in peers and management, employees with the type A style prefer compromising style to other conflicts handling styles. The study result shows that to the employees with the type A, organizational structure functioning are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as avoiding, obliging and compromising. But to the employees with the type X style, organizational structure functioning are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as dominating. On the other hand the result shows that the higher role conflict, the lower role ambiguity and the higher communication system, employees with the type A style prefer avoiding style to other conflicts handling styles. But the lower role ambiguity, employees with the type X style prefer compromising style to other conflicts handling styles. To conclude from these results, employees with the type A style have influence on the organizational structure functioning to other factors on the preference of the conflicts handling styles. And employees with the type B style have influence on the needs styles to other factors on the preference of the conflicts handling styles. Or employees with the type X style have influence on the task group functioning to other factors on the preference of the conflicts handling styles. Although this study provides several managerial implications, this study has some limitations. Specifically data were collected from only the service industry in Seoul, the Province of Gyeonggi, and the Province of Gangwon. In spite of the limitations, the study results could be used valuably in case of the personnel managers which manage the employees under the conflict situations.

  • 스트레스는 현대인의 생활과정 중에서 피할 수 없는 일부분이다 .그러나 스트레스를 어떻게 대처하는가 하는 것도 업무의 효율성 측면에 있어서는 매우 중요한 요인이 되고 있다. 다시 말해, 스트레스는 대처행동에 따라 그 효과가 달라진다는 것으로, 동일한 스트레스원에 당면하더라도 개인적인 성격특성에 따라 어떤 사람은 강렬한 스트레스를 경험하기도 하고 또 다른 사람은 미약하거나 경험하지 않기도 한다. 이러한 관점에서 볼 때 개인적인 성격특성은 스트레스 대처행동에 영향을 줄 수 있는 중요한 요인임을 알 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 성격특성과 스트레스 대처행동과의 관계를 규명하고 아울러 성격특성과 스트레스 대처효과 즉, 적응과의 관계를 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 보다 효과적으로 적응할 수 있는 성격특성이 무엇인지를 규명하는 동시에 각 성격특성의 소유자들이 어떤 양식으로 스트레스원에 대처하는가를 밝혀줌으로써, 경호업무 수행자들의 행동을 이해하고 그들의 적응을 지도해 나가는데 필요한 자료를 제공하는데 의의를 두고자 한다.

수직형 실내정원이 주는 생리적·심리적 효과 검증 (Verification of Physiological and Psychological Effects of Vertical Indoor Garden)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the physiological and psychological benefits of indoor garden to humans and to analyze the comparison according to Type A behavior pattern. The subjects included 18 male university students. Heart rate variation was used as a parameter of physiological assessment, and Semantic Differential (SD), Profile of Mood States-Brief (POMS), and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) were used as tools for psychological evaluation. The participants were subjected to a psychological evaluation when they were present in a garden. As a result, the parasympathetic nervous activity was increased in the indoor garden. In the analysis of psychological evaluation, indoor garden improved the positive mood states and decreased negative feelings with significant changes only in Type A group. This study supported that indoor garden can have physiological and psychological relaxing effects, which could be more significant in Type A group than Type B.

도시림 산책이 심리적 안정에 미치는 영향 - 일본 신주쿠교엔 현장실험 결과 - (Psychological Effects of Walking in the Urban Forest: Results of Field Tests in Shinjuku-gyoen, Japan)

  • 본 연구는 도시림에서의 산책이 심리적 안정에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 수행되었으며, 퍼스낼리티에 따른 심리적 영향의 차이에 대해서도 검토하였다. 실험은 일본의 대표적인 도시림인 신주쿠교엔(이하, 도시림)에서 실시하였으며, 대조실험은 신주쿠역주변의 도심지(이하, 도심)에서 동일하게 실시하였다. 일본인 남자대학생 18명($21.0{\pm}0.8$세)이 피험자로 참여하였으며, 피험자는 도시림과 도심에서 각각 1회씩 20분간의 산책을 실시하였다. 측정은 심리지표로써 POMS, STAI-S, SCL-90을 이용하여 심리상태를 측정하였으며, 퍼스낼리티 지표로써 KG식 일상생활질문지를 이용하여 A유형 행동양식을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 도시림에서의 산책은 도심과 비교하여 통계적으로 유의한 '기분'의 개선, '불안'의 감소, '정신증상'의 완화를 보였다. 그리고, SCL-90의 '강박증' 척도에서 이러한 결과의 반응은 B유형이 A유형보다 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에 의하여, 도시림에서의 산책은 심리적 안정 효과를 가져오는것으로 밝혀졌으며, 그 효과는 퍼스낼리티에 따라 달라질 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

An Analysis on the Relationships between Professions in the Beauty Industry and Blood Type

  • This study was carried out after the author experienced different personalities according to blood type over many years and thus have attempted to find out the relationships between blood type and each occupation in the industry. This study aims to analyze employees in the beauty industry (hair design, skin care, nail art and makeup) in Seoul with regard to their blood types. The significance of this study is to provide baseline data for entrants and managers in the beauty industry in order to help them choose the right occupation and reduce turnover rates through analyzing employee personalities by blood type. Research topics include the following: first, to understand the characteristics of employees in the beauty industry; and second, to find out the relationships between blood types and types of professions. After conducting an inquiry into the relationships between blood type and profession in the industry, a significant portion of skin care (49.3%) and nail art (43.8%) professionals was blood type A; nail artists (43.8%), type AB; hair designers (54.7%), type B; and makeup artists (50.0%) and hair designers (29.2%), type O. In conclusion, these results reflect the personalities of people within the beauty industry by blood type. Skin care and nail art shops are quiet environments, whereas hair salons are relatively louder with contemporary music along with the sounds of various equipment.

Students' Perspective (Stream Wise) of Parameters Affecting the Undergraduate Engineering Education: A Live Study

  • Purpose - The study aims to examine the students' perspective (stream wise) of parameters affecting the undergraduate engineering education system present in a private technical institution in NCR, Haryana, India. Research design, data, and methodology - It is a descriptive type of research in nature. Questionnaire Based Survey has been used to collect the data. The sample size for the study is 500 comprising of the students respondents. The sample has been taken randomly and the questionnaire was filled by the students (pursuing B. Tech) chosen on the random basis from a private technical educational institution in NCR, Haryana, India. For data analysis and conclusion of the results of the survey, statistical tool like F test was performed with the help of high quality software; SPSS. Conclusion - Analysis of variance revealed statistically no difference between the mean number of the groups (stream wise) for the parameters "Selection", "Academic Excellence", "Infrastructure", "Personality Development and Industry Exposure" and "Management and Administration". While Analysis of variance revealed statistically difference between the mean numbers of the groups for the parameter "Placements".

직무스트레스에 관한 문헌적 고찰 (A Literature Reviewed of Job Stress)

  • This study reviewed the literature pertaining to the cause and effects of job stress. Many definitions of stress have been offered and the diversity of these definitions has been generated by medical scientists, psychologists, and behavioral scientists. Most approaches dealing with job stress have involved listing of various sources of job stress, moderators, and outcomes. This study is concerned with the selection of variables, the relationships between job stressors and outcomes, and the effects of moderators on these relationships investigated in job stress research. A review of job stress literature presents that various job stressors (e. g., task characteristics, role characteristics, organizational characteristics, career development, and relationships), moderators (e. g., locus of control, type A and B personality, social support, and demographics), and outcomes (e. g., perceived stress, job satisfaction, job commitment, organizational commitment, performance, turnover, and physiological symptoms) were used for a greater understanding of job stress.

Paraneoplastic Encephalitis Associated with Thymoma: A Case Report

  • A 42-year-old woman with short-term memory loss visited Gangnam Severance Hospital, and her chest X-ray and computed tomography revealed a right anterior mediastinal mass. On hospital day two, she suddenly presented personality changes and a drowsy mental status, so she required ventilator care in the intensive care unit. She underwent thymectomy, and was pathologically diagnosed with thymoma, type B1. Her mental status eventually recovered by postoperative day 90. Paraneoplastic encephalopathy associated with thymoma is very rare, and symptoms can be improved by thymectomy. We report a case of paraneoplastic encephalopathy associated with a thymoma.

감지추구자적매체습관(感知追求者的媒体习惯) (Media Habits of Sensation Seekers)

  • 对营销和广告经理来说, 理解消费者的偏好和使用的媒体类型是非常有必要的, 尤其是在如今市场细分的情况下. 清晰的理解能帮助经理更有效的选择合适的媒体. 而且由于性格特征的不同, 个人对媒体类型的选择和使用都不相同. 本文测试了一个性格特征, 即感知追求. 这是在测试 "新" 媒体偏好和使用的文献中尚未出现的. 感知追求是被定义为 "一种对变化, 新颖和复杂的感觉的需要和经历. 以及为承担这些经历愿意承受生理的和社会的风险" (Zuckerman 1979). 根据文献回顾, 我们提出了6个假设. 我们尤其关注使用与满足理论(Katz 1959), 这个理论解释了为什么人们选择媒体类型和他们使用不同媒体类型的动机的原因. 目前的理论表明高感知追求者(HSS), 由于他们对新颖, 激励和非传统的内容和想象的需要, 他们会更多的使用新媒体. 因此, 我们假设高感知追求者比低感知追求者(LSS)(H2a)或中等感知追求者(MSS)(H2b)会更多的使用网络而不是广播(H1a)或印刷媒体(H1b). 另外, 高感知追求者有更多的社交活动及朋友, 因此他们会比低感知追求者(a) 和中等感知追求者(b)更多的使用社交网络网页例如Facebook/MySpace(H3) 以及聊天室(H4). 感知追求者可以显示出一系列的行为包括抑制解除. 我们认为具有高水平去抑制的人们比低水平或中等水平的人们会更多的使用社交网络如Facebook/MySpace (H5) 和聊天室(H6). 我们的数据来源于对参加极限运动的参与者的网上调查. 为得到这个群组的信息, 我们使用雪球样本技术的提高版, 即连锁推荐方法来选择应答者. 这种方法被认为是对隐藏人群进行有效估算的方法(Heckathorn, 1997). 最终的有效样本包括1108名应答者. 主要是年轻人(56.36%在34岁以下), 男性(86.1%)和中产阶级(58.7%的家庭收入超过50,000美元). 我们用这个样本来进行感知追求的研究. 我们用简要感知追求量表来测试感知追求(Hoyle et al. 2007). 我们用自我报告使用过的不同媒体类型来测量媒体使用. 结果并不支持H1a和b. 高感知追求者并没有更多的使用网络这样的媒体. 事实上, 同其他的媒体类型相比, 这个平均水平是较低的. 高感知追求者使用最多的媒体类型时印刷媒体, 这说明了一种对主流的反抗. 结果支持H2a和b. 高感知追求者比低感知或中等感知追求者更多的使用网络. 进一步的分析揭示了在高感知和低感知追求者之间在使用印刷媒体方面有显著不同. 高感知追求者在他们感兴趣的极限运动方面会追求更专业的印刷出版物. 假设3a和b 揭示了高感知追求者比低感知或中等感知追求者更多的使用Facebook/MySpace. 在使用聊天室方面低感知和高感知追求者之间没有显著差距. 所以结果也不支持假设H4a, 但是H4b的结果是显著的. 不同抑制解除水平的应答者被认为使用Facebook/MySpace 和聊天室的水平也不同. 去抑制水平高比低水平或中等水平的使用Facebook/MySpace的水平高. 所以H5a和b 被支持. 类似的, H6b也被支持. 去抑制水平高的人们使用聊天室的概率显著多于中等水平的但并不多于低水平的人们(H6a). 这些结果为管理者提供了一些有趣的见解. 第一, 尽管高感知追求者比低感知或中等感知追求者更多的使用在线媒体, 但他们使用在线媒体仍然少于印刷或广播媒体. 广告执行者们不应该对这个重要的客户群过分的强调在线媒体. 第二, 社交媒体, 例如Facebook/MySpace和聊天室会是接近这个群体的有潜力的方法. 最后, 对去抑制水平高的群体, 有公共关系方面的启示. 这些个体更倾向于一些社会风险的行为. 这些直接的启示包括因特网捕食者和未来的雇主. 本研究的一个不足是受访者都是参与极限运动的. 这本身就是一个高感知追求者活动. 更大范围的人群需要被测试.
