제휴카드 할인프로그램이 외식업의 수익성에 미치는 영향 (A Study on Profitability of the Allianced Discount Program with Credit Cards and Loyalty Cards in Food & Beverage Industry)

  • 외식업계에서는 충성도제고를 위한 장기적 고객 관리 프로그램으로서 사용금액 대비 일정률의 포인트를 적립해주는 고객보상(로열티)프로그램을 시행해왔으며, 단기적인 매출 증대를 목적으로 신용카드사나 이동통신사와의 전략적 제휴를 통해 소비자에게 할인혜택을 제공하는 제휴할인카드를 경쟁적으로 도입하고 있다. 포인트 적립과 제휴카드할인 프로그램은 추구하는 목적은 서로 다르나 소비자에게는 동일한 구매시점에 둘 중에서 하나를 선택해야하는 경합적인 대안이 된다. 일반적으로 소비자는 손실에 대해 더 민감하게 반응하는 위험회피 성향을 보이며, 실용적 동기에 의한 취득 및 거래효용의 관점에서 할인이 강력한 구매 동기가 되므로, 분리된 이익으로서의 포인트 적립 보다 할인 혜택을 제공함으로써 손실의 감소로 인식되는 제휴카드할인이 더 선호될 것으로 예상할 수 있다. 기업의 입장에서도 제휴기업간의 비용분담을 통해 보다 적은 비용으로 큰 소비자 할인혜택을 제공할 수 있다는 비용효율의 장점 및 경쟁 대응 필요성 때문에 제휴카드할인을 도입하게 된다. 그러나 할인판촉은 실제적인 비용이 투입되므로 매출의 증가를 통해 비용 보다 큰 수익이 보장될 때만 의미를 가지는 촉진 수단이다. 외식업의 경우 방문객수가 증가해야 매출의 증대를 이룰 수 있으며 운영효율이 향상된다. 테이블당 고객수 증가는 공간효율을 높여주어 이익개선에 기여가 크다. 따라서 제휴카드할인이 실제적인 기업성과향상을 가져오려면 할인이 객수의 증가 특히 테이블당 객수의 증가에 기여를 해야 한다. 제휴카드할인이 객수증가 및 이익률의 향상에 도움이 되는지의 여부를 알아보기 위하여 패밀리 레스토랑업체의 실제 매출 데이터를 사용하여 검증해 본 결과 포인트 적립제도는 객수 증가와 유의적 관계를 보이지 않은 반면 제휴할인은 객수 증가에 실제적인 영향이 있음이 밝혀졌으며, 할인율이 증가하면 테이블당 고객수도 증가하며 약 25%의 할인이 제공되면 추가로 한 명의 고객이 유인되는 효과가 있었다. 또한 수익성의 측면에서는 1인당 지불금액 즉 객단가는 할인율의 증가에 따라 하락하는 경향을 보였지만 객수의 증가로 인한 추가이익이 추가비용을 상쇄하고 있어서 제휴할인카드의 도입이 비용 대비 효과의 측면에서 적극적으로 고려할 수 있는 촉진 수단임이 입증되었다. 본 연구는 기업의 실측 데이터를 활용하고 있다는 점에서 소비자 태도나 의도의 변화를 기준으로 기업의 의사 결정 정보를 제공하고자한 기존연구보다 현실적인 접근을 하고 있다. 즉, 기업의 실제 데이터로 제휴카드할인 프로그램의 효과를 측정하였고, 포인트 적립 및 차감제도를 직접 비교함으로써 기업에게 향후 마케팅 전략 수립에 관한 현실적인 시사점을 제공하였다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

  • 본실험은 우리 나라 중부지방에 있어서의 수도의 재배 시기를 이동함에 따르는 실용제형질의 변화를 구명하기 위하여1958~'60년의 3개년에 걸쳐 농업시험장(현 작물시험장) 답작과(수원)에서 시행한 실험으로서 공시품종은 조만성, 초형 등 생태적특성을 달리하는 연산.수원 8002.오조.팔달 및 조광의 5품종을 공시하였으며, 파종기는 3월 2일 ~7월 10일까지를 10일 간격으로 14회에 걸쳐 파종하였고, 또 각 파종기마다 각각 못자리 일수를 30일, 40일, 50일, 60일, 70일 및 8일묘로 하여 이앙하여 실험하였다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 출수기 : 1) 파종기가 지연됨에 따라서 출수기도 거의 일직선으로 지연되나, 그 정도는 조생종에서 크고 만생종은 작으며, 또 못자리 일수가 길어짐에 따라서 커진다. 2) 출수까지의 일수는 각 품종 모두 파종기의 지연에 따라서 거의 일직선으로 단축하나, 품종에 따라 그 정도의 차이가 있어서 조생종은 단축일수가 작고 만생종이 크다. 그리고 동일품종 내에서도 못자리 일수가 길어짐에 따라 단축일수는 작아졌다. 또 최단축일수에 도달하는 시기도 조생종은 빠르나 만생종은 늦어진다. 또 못자리 일수가 긴 구에서 그 시기는 빨라진다. 품종 및 못자리 일수에 따라 차이가 있으나 어느 시기 이후의 파종기가 되면 단축을 나타내지 않게 되고, 다시 파종기가 늦어지면 한냉한 기후의 영향을 받아 출수일수는 오히려 연장된다. 3) 파종기(X)와 출수까지의 일수(Y)와의 회귀직선식 Y=a+bX의 계수 b(출수일수단축율)와 평균일수일수와는 고도의 상관이 인정되며, 평균출수일수가 클수록, 즉 만생종일수록 파종기의 지연에 의한 출수촉진일수가 컸었다. 4) 어느 품종의 파종기가 동일역일이면 못자리 일수가 극단으로 길지 않은 범위 내에서는(파종기의 지연에 따라서 출수까지의 일수가 직선적으로 단축되는 범위내에서의) 출수일수의 년차간의 변이는 크지 않으므로 목적하는 품종에 대한 수회의 파종기에 걸쳐 출수기의 변동을 조사하여 실험식(파종기와 출수까지의 일수와의 회귀직선식)을 구해 두면 임의의 재배시기에 있어서의 출수기를 추정할 수 있다. 5) 파종기가 3월하순~6월중순, 못자리 일수가 30~50일의 범위에서는 보통기재배에 있어서의 품종의 출수기의 조만을 가지고 그 전후에 해당하는 파종기에 있어서의 각각의 품종에 대한 출수기를 추정할 수 있다. 2. 성숙기 : 6) 출수기가 지연됨에 따라서 성숙한계 출수기의 범위 내에서는 성숙기도 거의 일직선으로 지연된다. 그 정도는 품종 및 못자리 일수의 장단에 의한 차이가 크다. 평균온도의 영향을 받는 범위 내에서는 출수기(X)가 지연됨에 따라서 성숙기간 중의 평균온도(Y)는 그것에 따라서 저하하며 품종간에 차이가 있으나, 전체적으로 보아 양자의 관계를 8월 1일부터 9월 13일까지의 범위에서는 Y=25.53-0.182X의 회귀직선식으로 나타낼 수 있다. 7) 품종의 조만생에 의한 성숙기간에 있어서의 평균온도의 차이가 심하며, 조생종은 최고 28$^{\circ}C$의 고온에서 경과하나 만생종은 22$^{\circ}C$에 불과하다. 8) 성숙기간중의 평균온도(X)와 성숙일수와의 관계는 극히 높은 상관이 인정되며, 양자의 관계를 Y=82.30-1.55X의 회귀직선식으로 표시할 수 있었다. 성숙기간중의 평균기온이 18~28$^{\circ}C$의 범위 내에서는 온도가 1$^{\circ}C$ 상승함에 따라서 성숙일수는 1.55일 단축되는 결과가 되며, 품종별로는 관산이 2.24일로서 단축정도가 컸고, 수원 8002가 0.78일로서 가장 적었다. 따라서 수원지방에 있어서는 평균온도가 18~28$^{\circ}C$의 범위에서는 온도가 상승함에 따라 성숙속도가 빨라진다고 할 수 있다. 9) 각 파종기별로 본 출수까지의 일수(X)에 대한 성숙기간중의 적산온도(Y)와의 관계는 거의 완전한 정의 상관관계가 있고, 성숙기간중의 적산온도는 어느 범위 내에 있어서의 파종기의 이동에 의한 차이는 비교적 작다. 3. 간장 및 수장 : 10) 품종간의 차이는 있으나 비교적 조파가 된 구간에는 간장에 큰 변화는 없으나 계속 파종기가 지연되어 만파가 되면 공시품종 모두 간장의 감소가 뚜렷해졌다. 또 간장의 감소정도는 약묘에서 완만할 뿐만 아니라, 5월 21일~6월 10일 파종과 같이 비교적 만파를 하더라도 별로 감소되지는 않으나, 80일묘와 같은 노숙묘인 때는 보통기재배에서도 급격히 감소한다. 11) 수장의 변화도 간장과 동일한 경향을 보이나 파종기의 지연에 의한 수장의 변화는 30~40일묘에서는 거의 인정되지 않았고, 못자리 일수가 길어지면 수장의 감소가 뚜렷해진다. 4. 수수 : 12) 파종기가 지연됨에 따라서 일정한 시기까지 계속수수는 감소하다가 어느 시기 이후가 되면 새로이 고차분얼의 다량발생으로 수수가 증가한다. 그 시기는 못자리 일수에 따라 차이가 있으며, 30~40 일묘는 5월 31일~6월 10일 파종기인 만파에서 수수가 최대로 감소하며, 70~80일묘의 경우 4월 11일~4월 21일의 파종기에서 이미 수수가 최대로 감소한다. 5. 지경수 : 13) 지경수는 파종기가 지연됨에 따라서 어느 일정한 시기까지는 변화가 없으나, 그 시기가 지나면 수당지경수의 감소가 현저하다. 14) 지경수가 감소되기 시작하는 시기도 30~40 일묘에서는 5월 3일 이후의 파종기가 되나, 80일묘의 경우 5월 31일 파종에서 이미 감소될 뿐만아니라, 5월 31일 파종이 되면 지경수가 3~4개에 불과하였다. 6. 비중과 천입중 : 15) 파종기의 이동에 따라 비중은 서서히 증가하나 어느 시기를 넘으면 급격히 증가하며, 이를 2개의 상이한 회귀직선으로 표시할 수 있다. 16) 이 양직선이 교차되는 지점을 성숙가능한계기로 보면 이 시기는 못자리 일수와 밀접한 관계가 있어서 30~40일묘는 6월 10일 반중기에 해당하나, 70~80일묘에서는 5월 1일로서 못자리 일수가 길어짐에 따라 성숙한계기는 당겨진다. 17) 천입중은 보통기재배에서 가장 무겁고 극조기재배를 하거나 만기재배에서 천입중은 저하한다. 7. 고중 및 완전정조중 : 18) 품종의 조만에 큰 영향없이 III~IV 파종기까지의 조기재배 하에서는 못자리 일수의 장단에 의한 고중의 큰 변이는 없으나, 파종기가 계속 이동하여 보통기재배가 되면 못자리 일수가 길어짐에 따라 차차 고종이 감소되어 오다가 만파가 되자 그 감소정도가 급격해졌다. 19) 파종기(X)와 정조수량(Y)과의 관계는 품종ㆍ못자리 일수를 종합하여 직선에 가까운 포물선으로 나타낼 수 있었다(Y=77.28-7.44X$_1$-1.001X$_2$). 따라서 조파시에는 정조수량의 변이가 작으나 어느 시기보다 파종기가 늦어짐에 따라서 정조수량은 감소하며, 그 정도는 만파인 경우에 심하고, 또 못자리 일수가 길어짐에 따라 더욱 현저하다. 20) 출수일수(X)에 대한 정조수량(Y)의 관계는 품종ㆍ못자리 일수를 구별하지 않고 보아다 회귀직선식으로써 나타낼 수 있었으나, 출수일수가 60~110일 정도까지는 조생종이 수량이 많고 만생종은 만기재배에 해당하므로 정조중의 감소가 심하였고, 출수일수가 140일 정도 이상이 되면 정조중이 거의 증가하지 않은 경향이 뚜렷하였다.

기업정보 기반 지능형 밸류체인 네트워크 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on Intelligent Value Chain Network System based on Firms' Information)

  • 최근까지도 중소기업의 지속성장 및 경쟁력 확보에 대한 중요함을 인식함에 따라, 정부 차원에서의 유형 자원(R&D 인력, 자금 등)에 대한 지원이 주로 투입되어 왔다. 그러나 사업지원의 적절성이나 효과성, 효율성 면에서 서로 상충되는 정책부분이 존재하여 과소 지원이나 중복 지원 등 지원체계의 비효율성 문제가 제기되어온 것도 사실이다. 정부나 기업 관점에서는 중소기업의 한정된 자원으로 인해, 외부와의 협력을 통한 기술개발 및 역량강화가 기업의 경쟁우위를 창출하는 근간이라 보고 있으며, 이를 위한 가치창출 활동을 강조하고 있다. 기업 레벨에서의 지식생태계 구축을 통해 일련의 가치사슬로부터 기업거래 관계를 분석하고 결과를 가시화할 수 있는 밸류체인 네트워크 분석이 필요한 것도 이 때문이다. 특허/제품/기업명 검색을 통해 관련 제품의 정보나 특허 보유 기업의 기술(제품) 현황 정보를 제공하는 기술기회발굴시스템(Technology Opportunity Discovery system), 기업(재무)정보와 신용정보을 열람하게 해주는 CRETOP이나 KISLINE 등은 존재하고 있으나 밸류체인 네트워크 분석기반으로 유사(경쟁)기업의 리스트나 향후 거래 가능한 잠재 거래처 정보를 제공해주는 시스템은 부재한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 고에서는 KISTI에서 개발 운영중인 기업 비즈니스 전략수립 지원 파트너인 '밸류체인 네트워크 시스템(Value Chain Network System : VCNS)'을 중심으로, 탑재된 네트워크 기반 분석모듈의 유형, 이를 지원하는 참조정보 및 데이터베이스(D/B)의 구성 로직과 시스템 활용방안을 고찰하며, 산업구조를 이해하고 기업의 신제품 개발을 위한 핵심정보가 되고 있는 지능형 밸류체인 분석 시스템의 네트워크 가시화 기능을 살펴보기로 한다. 한 기업이 다른 기업 대비 경쟁우위를 확보하기 위해서는 보유 특허 또는 현재 생산하고 있는 제품에 대한 경쟁자 식별이 필요하며, 세부 업종별 유사(경쟁)기업을 탐색하는 일은 대상기업의 사업화 경쟁력 확보에 핵심이 된다. 또한 기업간 비즈니스 활동인 거래정보는 유사 분야로 진출할 경우 잠재 거래처 정보를 제공하는 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 이러한 기업간 판매정보를 기반으로 구축된 네트워크 맵을 활용하여 기업 또는 업종 수준의 경쟁자를 식별하는 일은 밸류체인 분석의 핵심모듈로 탑재될 수 있다. 밸류체인 네트워크 시스템(VCNS)은 단순 수집된 종래의 기업정보에 밸류체인(value chain) 및 산업구조 분석개념을 접목하여 개별 기업의 시장경쟁 상황은 물론 특정 산업의 가치사슬 관계를 파악할 수 있다. 특히 업종구조 파악, 경쟁사 동향 파악, 경쟁사 분석, 판매처 및 구매처 발굴, 품목별 산업동향, 유망 품목 발굴, 신규 진입기업 발굴, VC별 핵심기업 및 품목 도출, 해당 기업별 보유 특허 파악 등 기업 레벨에서의 유용한 정보분석 툴로 활용 가능하다. 또한, 거래처 정보 및 재무데이터로부터 분석된 결과의 객관성 및 신뢰성을 기반으로, 현재 국내에서 이용 중인 15,000여개 회원기업과 연구개발서비스업 종사자, 출연(연) 및 공공기관 등에서 사업평가 정보지원, R&D 의사결정 지원 및 중 단기 수요예측 전망 등 다양한 목적(용도)에 밸류체인 네트워크 시스템을 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 기업의 사업경쟁력 강화를 위해 정부기관 및 민간 연구개발서비스 기업을 중심으로 기술(특허) 및 시장정보가 제공되어 왔으며, 이는 특허분석(등급, 계량분석 위주) 또는 시장분석(시장보고서 기반 시장규모 및 수요예측 위주)의 형태로 지원되어 왔다. 그러나 기업이 사업화진출 단계에서 겪게 되는 애로요인의 하나인 정보부족을 해결하는데 한계가 있었으며, 특히 경쟁기업 및 거래가능 기업 후보군에 대한 탐색정보는 입수하기 어려웠다. 본 연구를 통해 제안된 네트워크맵 및 보유 데이터 기반의 실시간 밸류체인 가시화 서비스모듈이 중견 중소기업이 당면한 신규시장 진출시 경쟁기업 대비 예상점유율, (예상)매출액 수준, 어느 기업을 컨택하여 유통망(원자재/부품에 대한 공급처, 완제품/모듈에 대한 수요처)을 확보할 지에 대한 핵심정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 향후 연구에서는 대체기업(또는 대체품목) 경쟁지표의 개발과 연구주체의 참여를 통한 경쟁요인별 지표의 고도화 연구, VCNS의 성능향상을 위한 데이터마이닝 기술 및 알고리즘을 추가 반영하도록 수행하고자 한다.

  • 산원지(山元地) 임목가격(林木價格)의 결정(決定)에 있어서 중요(重要)한 문제(問題)는 평가(評價)된 임목가격(林木價格)이 객관성(客觀性)을 가져야 한다는 점이다. 임업경영(林業経営)이 정상적(正常的)인 상태(狀態)에 있고 국내(國內) 생산목재(生産木材)에 의(依)하여 목재시장(木材市場)이 수요(需要)와 공급(供給)의 균형(均衡)을 이루게 된다면 임목(林木)의 가격(價格)은 시장(市場)의 자율기능(自律機能)에 의(依)해서 결정(決定)될 것이다. 그려나 현재(現在) 국내목재시장(國內木材市場)은 도입외재(導入外材)에 의(依)해서 가격(價格)의 형성(形成)이 좌우(左右)되는 상태(狀態)이므로, 목재(木材)의 생산(生産)에 관여(関與)되는 제투자비(諸投資費)에 의해서 가격(價格)이 결정(決定)되지 않고 채취비용(採取費用)과 목재상인(木材商人)의 기업이윤(企業利潤)을 고려(考慮)한 금액(金額)으로 산원지(山元地)의 목재가격(木材價格)이 결정(決定)되고 있다. 한편 임목(林木)의 평가(評價)는 기업용자산(企業用資産)의 평가(評價), 손실보상액(損害補償額)의 사정(査定) 및 과세표준액(課稅標準額) 등(等)을 결정(決定)하기 위해서 시행(施行)되고 있다. 특(特)히 삼림(森林)의 손해보험(損害保険)이 실시(実施)되는 경우에는 보험가액(保険價額) 사정(査定)에 임목(林木)의 평가(平價)는 절대적으로 필요(必要)하다. 이 경우에 보통(普通) 유령임목(幼令林木)은 비용가격(費用價格)으로, 유령기(幼令期)와 성숙기(成熟期) 중간(中間)의 임목(林木)은 Glaser 방식(方式)으로, 성숙기(成熟期)에 있는 임목(林木)은 시장역산가격(市場逆算價格)으로 평가(平價)될 것이다. 그러나 이와 같은 방법(方法)으로 평가(平價)할 때에 가격(價格)의 객관성(客觀性)이 확보(確保)되지 않는다면 임목(林木)의 평가(平價)는 의미(意味)가 없게 된다. 따라서 본(本) 연구(研究)는 목재생산(木材生産)에 관여(関與)되는 생산비용(生産費用)을 분석(分析)하고 기업자(企業者)의 적정이윤(適正利潤)을 파악(把握)하여 임목(林木)의 평가(平價)가 객관성(客觀性)있게 이루어 질 수 있도록 시도되었다. 1. 조사대상지역(調査対象地域) 및 목재시장(木材市場)의 동향(動向) 조사대상지역(調査対象地域)은 경주시(慶州市) 외곽지역(外廓地域)에 소재(所在)한 두 지역(地域)의 인공림지(人工林地)로, 시장여건(市場與件)은 동일(同一)하나 임상(林相) 및 목재생산(木材生産) 여건(與件)은 서로 상이(相異)하였다. 즉 암곡지역(暗谷地域)의 임목축적(林木蓄積)과 목림생산여건(木林生産與件)은 황룡지역(黃龍地域) 보다 훨씬 양호(良好)한 상태(狀態)로 황룡지역(黃龍地域)은 암곡지역(暗谷地域)에 비(比)하여 생산비용(生産費用)이 57% 정도 더 소요(所要)되었다. 또한 조사시기(調査時期) 당시(當時)의 경주시(慶州市) 임목가격(林木価格)은 서울의 원목시장가격(原木市場價格)보다 9~15% 정도 낮은 가격(価格)으로 형성(形成)되고 있었다. 2. 생산작업공정(生産作業工程) 목재(木材)의 생산(生産)을 위한 비용지출(費用支出)은 생산작업공정(生産作業工程)과 직결(直結)된다. 본(本) 연구(研究)에서는 현지(現地)의 도급인부(都給人夫)들이 제시(提示)한 공정표(工程表)를 적용(適用)하였다. 이 작업공정표(作業工程表)는 국유림산물(國有林産物) 매각예정가격(賣却豫定價格) 사정기준상(査定基準上)의 표준공정표(標準工程表)와 서울대학교(大學校) 광양(光陽) 연습림(演習林)에서 조사(調査)된 침엽수(針葉樹) 인공림(人工林)의 벌채작업공정조사표(伐採作業工程調査表)의 중간정도(中間程度)로 구성(構成)되어 있다. 생산작업(生産作業)의 능률(能率)이 목재생산비용(木材生産費用)의 과다(過多)에 중요(重要)한 관건(関件)이 되고 있다. 따라서 능률적(能率的)인 작업(作業)을 위해서 숙련(熟練)된 임업노동자(林業勞動者)의 확보(確保)가 필요(必要)하며 작업조건(作業條件)의 개선(改善)이 시급한 과제(課題)임을 알 수 있다. 3. 생산비용(生産費用) 및 기업자이윤(企業者利潤) 임목(林木)의 생산비용중(生産費用中) 가장 큰 비중(比重)을 차지하는 부분(部分)은 임목(林木)을 임지(林地)에서 시장(市場)까지 반출(搬出)하는 비용(費用)이다. 즉 암곡지역(暗谷地域)은 반출비용(搬出費用)이 벌목비용(伐木費用)에 비(比)하여 16.7%를 상회하고 있고, 황룡지역(黃龍地域)은 48% 상회하고 있다. 한편 벌목비용(伐木費用)은 하곡(下由) 집재비(集材費), 벌도비(伐倒費), 조재비(造材費), 박피비(剝皮費)의 순서(順序)로 구성(構成)되어있고 기타(其他) 생산비용(生産費用)은 임도신설(林道新設) 보수비(補修費), 관리(管理) 운반비(運搬費)와 상하차비(上下車費) 및 제경비(諸経費)의 순서(順序)로 구성(構成)되어 있다. 기업자(企業者)의 이윤율(利潤率)은 보통(普通) 위험률(危険率)을 포함(包含)하여 15% 정도로 합의(合議)되고 있으나 전체적(全体的)인 고금리(高金利) 추세(推勢)에 따라 임업(林業)에 관계(関係)되는 이자율(利子率) 및 이윤(利潤)의 폭(幅)도 점차 상승(上昇)하는 경향(傾向)이다. 또한 임업(林業)이 전체산업중(全体産業中) 차지하는 가중치(加重値)의 비율(比率)은 약(約) 2.41%에 해당(該當)하며, 금융기관(金融機関)의 자금지원(資金支援)은 극히 미미한 상태(狀態)로 전체(全体) 대출금중(貸出金中) 월간(月間) 약(約) 0.1% 정도로 차지하고 있을 뿐이다. 4. 평가액(評價額)의 사정(査定) 임목(林木)의 평가(評價)는 직선적(直線的)인 방법(方法)과 할인식방법(割引式方法)인 시장역산가방식(市場逆算價方式)으로 각각(各各) 계산(計算)되었다. 모든 변수(変数)를 대입(代入)하여 평가(評價)의 객관성(客觀性)을 확보(確保)하였으며, 그 결과(結果) 상기(上記)의 두가지 방식(方式)은 큰 차이(差異)를 나타내지 않았으나 지역간(地域間)의 가격차이(價格差異)는 상당(相當)히 큰 폭(幅)으로 발생(発生)하였다. 따라서 임목(林木)의 가격사정(價格査定)을 위해서는 변수(変数)가 객관성(客觀性)만 가지고 있다면 직선적(直線的)인 방법(方法)이나 할인식방법(割引式方法) 중 어떤 방법(方法)으로 계산(計算)되어도 큰 차이(差異)가 없는 객관적(客間的) 가격(價格)을 얻을 수 있다.

광주시(光州市) 의료시설(醫療施設)의 입지(立地)와 주민(住民)의 효율적(效率的) 이용(利用) (The Location of Medical Facilities and Its Inhabitants' Efficient Utilization in Kwangju City)

  • 복지사회를 지향하는 오늘날, 건강 중진에 직접 관계되는 의료시설의 접근성 문제는 주요 과제이다. 특히 삶의 질이라는 측면에서 질병의 치료 외에 건강진단, 예방과 회복, 요양 및 응급서비스의 비중이 커지고, 인구의 노령화 현상이 진전되면서 의료시설의 효율적인 입지가 주 관심사로 대두되고 있다. 의료시설은 주민의 생존과 직접 관계되는 기본적이고도 필수적인 중심시설로, 지역 주민은 균등한 혜택을 받을 수 있어야 한다. 이를 실현시키기 위해서는 기본적으로는 효율성과 평등성을 기반으로 1차 진료기관이 균등 분포해야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는, 광주시를 사례지역으로 선정하여 의료시설의 입지와 그에 대한 주민의 효율적 이용에 관하여 분석하였다. 분석에 있어서는 통계자료와 기존의 연구 성과 외에 설문 및 현지조사 자료를 기반으로 시설 측면과 이용자 측면을 동시에 고찰하였다. 우선 의료 환경의 변화 및 의료시설의 변화 과정을 고찰하고, 이어서 의료시설의 유형별 입지 특성과 주민의 분포 특성을 고려한 지역별 의료수준을 분석하였다. 그리고 유형별 의료시설의 이용행태와 그 요인을 구명한 후, 마지막으로 장래 이용 유형의 예측과 문제지역의 추출, 나아가서는 시설의 합리적인 입지와 경영 방향을 제시하였다. 본 연구 결과는, 앞으로 신설될 의료시설의 적정 입지에 관한 기본 자료로서는 물론 지역 주민의 불평등성 해소라는 응용적 측면에서 의의를 지닌다.

High Resolution HC$_3$N Observations toward the Central Region of Sagittarius B2

  • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70${\pm}$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32${\pm}$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The strip loader and cassette were made to obtain more accurate reflectance parameters. The strip was illuminated at 45˚c through optical fiber and the intensity of reflected light was determined at rectanguLat angle using a photodiode. The kubelka-munk coefficient and reflection optical density were determined ar four different wavelengths(500,550,570 and 610nm) for blood glucose strip. For higher concentration than 300mg/41 about glucose, a saturation state of abforbance was observed at 500,550 and 570nm. The mice were divided into two groups. One group was injected with Photofrin II, intravenously (2.5mg/kg body weight). The other group received no Photofrin II. Mice from both groups were irradialed for approximately 15 minutes at 100,300, or 500 mW/cm2 with the argon (488nm/514.5 nm), dye(628nm) and gold vapor (pulsed 628 nm) laser light. A photosensitizer behaved as an added absorber. Under our experimental conditions, the presence of Photolfrin II increased surface temperature by at least 40% and the temperature rise due to 300 mW/cm2 irradiation exceeded values for hyperthermia. Light and temperature distributions with depth were estimated by a computer model. The model demonstrated the influence of wavelength on the thermal process and proved to be a valuable tool to investigate internal temperature rise. 30536 T00401030536 ^x We investigated the structural geometry of thirty-eight Korean femurs. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. The results suggested that the femoral component suitable for Asians should be different from the currently-used components designed and manufactured mostly by European or American companies. 30537 T00401030537 ^x It is well known that nonlinear propagation characteristics of the wave in the tissue may give very useful information for the medical diagnoisis. In this paper, a new method to detect nonlinear propagation characteristics of the internal vibration in the tissue for the low frequency mechanical vibration by using bispectral analysis is proposed. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms. Our department has developed an information system for routine hematology using down-sized computer system. The operating system and database management system were SCO UNIX and SCO foxbase, respectively. For program development, we used Xbase language provided by SCO foxbase. The C language was used for interface purpose. To make the system use friendly, pull-down menu was used. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer. Our system interfaced with fwd complete blood count analyzers(Sysmex NE-8000 and Coulter STKS) for unidirectional data tansmission from analyzer to computer. The frame and leaflet of the polymer valve were made from polyurethane, To evaluate the hemodynamic performance of the polymer valve a comparative study of flow dynamics past a polymer valve and a St. Jude Medical prosthetic valve under physiological pulsatile flow conditions in vitro was made. Because the point of maximun temperature of laser-irradiated gelatin exists below the surface due to surface cooling, evaporation at the boiling temperature is made explosively from below the surface. The important parameters of this process are the conduction loss to laser power absorption (defined as the conduction-to-laser power parameter, Nk), the convection heat transfer at the surface to conduction loss (defined as Bi), dimensionless extinction coefficient (defined as Br.), and dimensionless irradiation time (defined as Fo). Dependence of Fo on Nk and Bi has been observed by experiment, and the results have been compared with the numerical results obtained by solving a 2-dimensional conduction equation. Fo and explosion depth (from the surface to the point of maximun temperature) are increased when Nk and Bi are increased.To find out the minimum laser power for explosive evaporative removal process, steady state analysis has been also made. We obtained a two-dimensional current density distribution within a phantom by processing the real and imaginary MR images from a 4.77 NMR machine. The object image was the Thyroid eland cells image that was diagnosed as normal and abnormal (two types of abnormal: follicular neoplastic cell, and papillary neoplastic cell), respectively. By using the proposed region segmentation algorithm, the cells were segmented into nucleus. The 16 feature parameters were used to calculate the features of each nucleus.   • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm.   • 본 연구는 대맥의 다수확 재배기술 개선의 기초자료를 얻고져 작물시험장(수원) 맥류포장에서 수원18호를 공시하여 1969년부터 1970년까지 2개년간 시비량, 파종기 및 파종량을 달리 하여 이들 처리가 수량 및 수량구성요소에 미치는 영향과 이들의 형성과정을 추구하였으며 또한 수원18호외 7품종을 공시하여 파종기이동에 따른 품종들의 수량 및 수량 구성요소의 변화를 검토한바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 수원에서 대맥 수원 18호의 출현이수는 파종기 (9월 21일에서 10월 31일까지)에 따라 8~19일정도 소요되었고 조파할수록 빠른 경향을 보였으며 대체로 지중 5cm의 적산온도가 15$0^{\circ}C$내외면 출현하였다. 2. 파종기에 따른 냉해정도의 차이는 월동기간의 대맥 생육정도와 기상조건의 영향이 크며 월동전 생육이 과도하거나 주간출엽수가 5~6엽에 미달되면 냉해에 약하였다. 3. 주간출엽수는 파종기에 따라 11매로부터 16매까지 변화하지만 대체로 원동전 주간출엽수의 차이가 심하고 원동후 주간출엽수의 차이는 적으며 특히 9월 21일 파종부터 10월 11일 파종까지의 주간출엽수의 차이는 월동전 주간출엽수의 차이에 의하여 나타났다. 4. 월동전 지상부 건물생산량은 조파구에서 많고 만파할수록 적었으나 월동후에는 파종기에 따른 지상부 건물생산량의 차이가 적었으며 생육 재생기부터 출수기까지는 건물생산량이 급증하고 등숙기간에는 증가율이 낮았다. 5. 1$\m^2$당 경수는 대체로 조파한 것이 만파한 것보다, 후파한 것이 박파한 것보다 많았다. 개체당 분얼은 후파할 때는 적고 파종기에 따른 차이는 미미하였으나 박파하였을 때는 파종기에 따른 변이가 컸다. 조파에서는 파종량이 많아 질수록 개체당 분얼수가 현저히 감소되나 만파시에는 파종량의 영향이 적었다. 6. 최고분얼기는 조파할 경우에 일찍 오고 만파할 경우에 늦게 오며 파종량에 따른 차이가 크지는 않았으나 대체로 파종량이 많을수록 빨리 오는 경향이었다. 7. 분얼최성기는 파종기에 관계없이 주간출엽수가 4~6매일 때이었다. 8. 1$\m^2$당수수는 해에 따라 차이가 있으나 시비량이나 파종량이 증가할수록 많아졌으며 시비량과 파종량을 함께 증가할 때에는 수수의 확보가 용이하고 이러한 경향은 특히 적기파종에서 컸다. 또한 많은 수수를 확보하는 데는 적기 파종이 파종량 증가보다 중요하고 만파시에는 파종량을 증가시키는 것이 유리하였다. 9. 품종별 파종기에 따른 1$\m^2$당 수수는 대체로 모든 품종에서 만파할수록 감소되었으나 수원18호, 여기, 항미, 부흥는 수원 004, 수원006 칠보 및 영월 6각보다 만파에 의한 감소율이 적었다. 10. 1$\m^2$당 수수와 1$\m^2$당 경수와의 상관 관계를 보면 9월 21일 파종에서는 출수기부터, 10월 1일 파종에서는 월동전에, 10월 11일 파종부터 10월 31일 파종까지는 전 생육기간에서 대체로 높은 정의 상관이 있었으며 3월 하순부터 4월 상순까지는 어느 파종기에서나 상관정도가 낮았다. 11. 유효경 비율은 파종기 및 파종량에 따라 33~76%까지의 넓은 변이폭을 보였으며 50%정도에서 수량이 가장 높았고 파종량에 따른 변이폭보다 파종기에 따른 변이폭이 컸다. 또한 조파에서 유효경 비율이 낮고 만파일수록 높아 가는 경향이었으며 파종량이 증가하면 유효경 비율이 다소 감소하는 경향이었다. 품종별로는 수원18호, 항미, 여기 및 부흥는 유효경 비율이 높으며 이들 품종들은 만파할 경우의 증가율이 컸고 칠보, 수원004, 수원006, 영월6각은 유효경 비율이 낮고 만파에 의한 증가율도 낮았다. 12. 1수립수는 어느 경우에나 시비량이 증가할수록 증가하였고 파종량이 증가할수록 감소하였으며 파종기에 따라서는 10월 21일(1969), 10월 1일(1970)파종에서 1수립수가 가장 적었으며 이보다 조파하거나 만파할수록 증가하였다. 한편 품종별로는 파종기에 따른 경향이 일정하지 않았다. 13. 천립중은 1$\m^2$당 수수와 1수립수에 비하여 시비량, 파종기 및 파종량 차이에 따른 변이폭이 작았으나 년차변이는 컸으며, 파종량이 증가할수록 천립중은 다소 감소하였다. 품종별로는 차이가 뚜렷하여 부흥과 칠보는 대체로 무거웠고 수원18호, 항미 및 여기는 비교적 가벼웠다. 14. 수원지방의 파종적기는 10월 1일~10월 11일로 인정되었고, 시비량 증가에 따라 수량은 대체로 증가하였으며 조기 파종시의 수량감소를 비료증가로 다소 경감시킬 수 있었다. 15. 파종량 차이에 따른 수량의 변이폭은 시비량이나 파종기차이에 따른 변이폭보다 비교적 적었고, 조파나 소비조건에서는 파종량 차이에 따른 수량 변이가 미미하였다. 또한 파종량은 증가시킬 경우 증비의 효과가 크며 만파시에는 파종량의 증가로 수량의 심한 감소를 보상할 수 있었다. 16. 적정 파종량은 시비량 증감에 따라 다소 차이가 있었으나 10a당 시비량 10.5-6.6kg 수준에서는 10a당 파종량을 18~26$\ell$까지 증가시키는 것이 수량의 안정을 기할 수 있었다. 17. 파종적기는 품종별로 다소 달랐으며, 수원006 수원004 및 부흥은 비교적 조기 파종에서 증수되었고 수원18호, 여기 및 항미는 19월 1일경 파종에서 증수를 보였으며 부흥은 만파 적응성이 높았다. 18. 수량과 수수와는 모든 처리에서 고도의 정상관을 보였는데 시비량이 증가할수록 상관이 높아졌고 파종량이 증가할수록 수량과 수수의 상관은 낮았다. 수량과 1수립수는 대체로 부의 상관을 보였으며 천립중과 수량과는 상관 정도가 낮았다.

A Study on the Meaning and Strategy of Keyword Advertising Marketing

  • At the initial stage of Internet advertising, banner advertising came into fashion. As the Internet developed into a central part of daily lives and the competition in the on-line advertising market was getting fierce, there was not enough space for banner advertising, which rushed to portal sites only. All these factors was responsible for an upsurge in advertising prices. Consequently, the high-cost and low-efficiency problems with banner advertising were raised, which led to an emergence of keyword advertising as a new type of Internet advertising to replace its predecessor. In the beginning of 2000s, when Internet advertising came to be activated, display advertisement including banner advertising dominated the Net. However, display advertising showed signs of gradual decline, and registered minus growth in the year 2009, whereas keyword advertising showed rapid growth and started to outdo display advertising as of the year 2005. Keyword advertising refers to the advertising technique that exposes relevant advertisements on the top of research sites when one searches for a keyword. Instead of exposing advertisements to unspecified individuals like banner advertising, keyword advertising, or targeted advertising technique, shows advertisements only when customers search for a desired keyword so that only highly prospective customers are given a chance to see them. In this context, it is also referred to as search advertising. It is regarded as more aggressive advertising with a high hit rate than previous advertising in that, instead of the seller discovering customers and running an advertisement for them like TV, radios or banner advertising, it exposes advertisements to visiting customers. Keyword advertising makes it possible for a company to seek publicity on line simply by making use of a single word and to achieve a maximum of efficiency at a minimum cost. The strong point of keyword advertising is that customers are allowed to directly contact the products in question through its more efficient advertising when compared to the advertisements of mass media such as TV and radio, etc. The weak point of keyword advertising is that a company should have its advertisement registered on each and every portal site and finds it hard to exercise substantial supervision over its advertisement, there being a possibility of its advertising expenses exceeding its profits. Keyword advertising severs as the most appropriate methods of advertising for the sales and publicity of small and medium enterprises which are in need of a maximum of advertising effect at a low advertising cost. At present, keyword advertising is divided into CPC advertising and CPM advertising. The former is known as the most efficient technique, which is also referred to as advertising based on the meter rate system; A company is supposed to pay for the number of clicks on a searched keyword which users have searched. This is representatively adopted by Overture, Google's Adwords, Naver's Clickchoice, and Daum's Clicks, etc. CPM advertising is dependent upon the flat rate payment system, making a company pay for its advertisement on the basis of the number of exposure, not on the basis of the number of clicks. This method fixes a price for advertisement on the basis of 1,000-time exposure, and is mainly adopted by Naver's Timechoice, Daum's Speciallink, and Nate's Speedup, etc, At present, the CPC method is most frequently adopted. The weak point of the CPC method is that advertising cost can rise through constant clicks from the same IP. If a company makes good use of strategies for maximizing the strong points of keyword advertising and complementing its weak points, it is highly likely to turn its visitors into prospective customers. Accordingly, an advertiser should make an analysis of customers' behavior and approach them in a variety of ways, trying hard to find out what they want. With this in mind, her or she has to put multiple keywords into use when running for ads. When he or she first runs an ad, he or she should first give priority to which keyword to select. The advertiser should consider how many individuals using a search engine will click the keyword in question and how much money he or she has to pay for the advertisement. As the popular keywords that the users of search engines are frequently using are expensive in terms of a unit cost per click, the advertisers without much money for advertising at the initial phrase should pay attention to detailed keywords suitable to their budget. Detailed keywords are also referred to as peripheral keywords or extension keywords, which can be called a combination of major keywords. Most keywords are in the form of texts. The biggest strong point of text-based advertising is that it looks like search results, causing little antipathy to it. But it fails to attract much attention because of the fact that most keyword advertising is in the form of texts. Image-embedded advertising is easy to notice due to images, but it is exposed on the lower part of a web page and regarded as an advertisement, which leads to a low click through rate. However, its strong point is that its prices are lower than those of text-based advertising. If a company owns a logo or a product that is easy enough for people to recognize, the company is well advised to make good use of image-embedded advertising so as to attract Internet users' attention. Advertisers should make an analysis of their logos and examine customers' responses based on the events of sites in question and the composition of products as a vehicle for monitoring their behavior in detail. Besides, keyword advertising allows them to analyze the advertising effects of exposed keywords through the analysis of logos. The logo analysis refers to a close analysis of the current situation of a site by making an analysis of information about visitors on the basis of the analysis of the number of visitors and page view, and that of cookie values. It is in the log files generated through each Web server that a user's IP, used pages, the time when he or she uses it, and cookie values are stored. The log files contain a huge amount of data. As it is almost impossible to make a direct analysis of these log files, one is supposed to make an analysis of them by using solutions for a log analysis. The generic information that can be extracted from tools for each logo analysis includes the number of viewing the total pages, the number of average page view per day, the number of basic page view, the number of page view per visit, the total number of hits, the number of average hits per day, the number of hits per visit, the number of visits, the number of average visits per day, the net number of visitors, average visitors per day, one-time visitors, visitors who have come more than twice, and average using hours, etc. These sites are deemed to be useful for utilizing data for the analysis of the situation and current status of rival companies as well as benchmarking. As keyword advertising exposes advertisements exclusively on search-result pages, competition among advertisers attempting to preoccupy popular keywords is very fierce. Some portal sites keep on giving priority to the existing advertisers, whereas others provide chances to purchase keywords in question to all the advertisers after the advertising contract is over. If an advertiser tries to rely on keywords sensitive to seasons and timeliness in case of sites providing priority to the established advertisers, he or she may as well make a purchase of a vacant place for advertising lest he or she should miss appropriate timing for advertising. However, Naver doesn't provide priority to the existing advertisers as far as all the keyword advertisements are concerned. In this case, one can preoccupy keywords if he or she enters into a contract after confirming the contract period for advertising. This study is designed to take a look at marketing for keyword advertising and to present effective strategies for keyword advertising marketing. At present, the Korean CPC advertising market is virtually monopolized by Overture. Its strong points are that Overture is based on the CPC charging model and that advertisements are registered on the top of the most representative portal sites in Korea. These advantages serve as the most appropriate medium for small and medium enterprises to use. However, the CPC method of Overture has its weak points, too. That is, the CPC method is not the only perfect advertising model among the search advertisements in the on-line market. So it is absolutely necessary that small and medium enterprises including independent shopping malls should complement the weaknesses of the CPC method and make good use of strategies for maximizing its strengths so as to increase their sales and to create a point of contact with customers.

MMORPG에서 길드 구성원들의 사회적 지지와 심리적 요인들이 플로우 및 충성도에 미치는 영향 (The Impacts of Social Support and Psychological Factors on Guild Members' Flow and Loyalty in MMORPG)

  • We investigated what factors motivate gamers to participate in a guild and why they continue to be engaged as members of the guild. We find that, based on the result of focus group interviews with MMORPG gamers, social support and self-esteem factors play important roles. Considering both prior research and the focus group interviews we have conducted, we define social support and character control as independent variables. Character identity, guild identity, and self-esteem are proposed as mediating variables while guild flow and game loyalty as dependent variables. Accordingly, we develop the research model and hypotheses, and verify them empirically. Based on our experiences of playing the WoW game, we proposed a research model and conducted focus-group interviews (FGIs). FGIs involve formulating a hypothesis and then collecting some relevant data. FGIs were conducted face-to-face with students of C University in Korea. We formulated structured interview schedules, and the questions were based on our research variables and personal experiences. The questions for the interviews encompassed the following areas: (a) the demographic characteristics of the focus group; (b) the number of years for which respondents had played online games; (c) the motive for starting a game; (d) the number of game-characters assumed by each gamer; (e) the type of game played; and (f) other issues such as the reasons for involvement in the play, the willingness to reuse the game in case new versions were released, etc. On average, it took two hours to interview each of three groups. A primary set of FGIs was conducted with three groups on the premise that there would be some differences caused by character race (Horde vs. Alliance) or by playable server (Normal vs. Combat). With respect to the manner of playing, we found that guild members shared information, felt a sense of belonging, and played computer games for quite a long time through the guild; however, they did not undergo these experiences when playing alone. Gamers who belonged to a specific guild helped other players without expecting compensation for that, freely shared information about the game, gave away items for free, and more generous with other members who made mistakes. The guild members were aware of the existence other members and experienced a sense of belonging through interactions with, and evaluations from, other players. It was clear that social support was shown within the guild and that it played an important role as a major research variable. Based on the results of the first FGIs, a second set of in-depth FGIs was carried out with a focus on the psychology of the individual within the guild and the social community of the guild. The second set of FGIs also focused on the guild's offline meetings. Gamers, over all, recognize the necessity of joining a community, not only off-line but also online world of the guild. They admit that the guild is important for them to easily and conveniently enjoy playing online computer games. The active behavior and positive attitudes of existing guild members can motivate new members of the guild to adapt themselves to the guild environment. They then adopt the same behaviors and attitudes of established guild members. In this manner, the new members of the guild strengthen the bonds with other gamers while feeling a sense of belonging, and developing social identity, thereby. It was discovered that the interaction among guild members and the social support encouraged new gamers to quickly develop a sense of social identity and increase their self-esteem. The guild seemed to play the role of socializing gamers. Sometimes, even in the real world, the guild members helped one another; therefore, the features of the guild also spilled over to the offline environment. We intend to use self-esteem, which was found through the second set of FGIs, as an important research variable. To collect data, an online survey was designed with a questionnaire to be completed by WoW gamers, who belong to a guild. The survey was registered on the best three domestic game-sites: 'WoW playforum,' 'WoW gamemeca,' and 'Wow invent.' The selected items to be measured in the questionnaire were decided based on prior research and data from FGIs. To verify the content of the questionnaire, we carried out a pilot test with the same participants to point out ambiguous questions as a way to ensure maximum accuracy of the survey result. A total of 244 responses were analyzed from the 250 completed questionnaires. The SEM analysis was used to test goodness-of-fit of the model. As a result, we found important results as follows: First, according to the statistics, social support had statistically significant impacts on character control, character identity, guild identity and self-esteem. Second, character control had significant effects on character identity, guild identity and self-esteem. Third, character identity shows its clear impact on self-esteem and game loyalty. Fourth, guild identity affected self-esteem, guild flow and game loyalty. Fifth, self-esteem had a positive influence on the guild flow. These days, the number of virtual community is rising along with its significance largely because of the nature of the online games. Accordingly, this study is designed to clarify the psychological relationship between gamers within the guild that has been generally established by gamers to play online games together. This study focuses on the relationships in which social support influences guild flow or game loyalty through character control, character identity, guild identity, and self-esteem, which are present within a guild in the MMORPG game environment. The study results are as follows. First, the effects of social support on character control, character identity, guild identity and self-esteem are proven to be statistically significant. It was found that character control improves character identity, guild identity and self-esteem. Among the seven variables, social support, which is derived from FGIs, plays an important role in this study. With the active support of other guild members, gamers can improve their ability to develop good characters and to control them. Second, character identity has a positive effect on self-esteem and game loyalty, while guild identity has a significant effect on self-esteem, guild flow and game loyalty. Self-esteem affects guild flow. It was found that the higher the character and guild identities become, the greater the self-esteem is established. Contrary to the findings of prior research, our study results indicate that the relationship between character identity and guild flow is not significant. Rather, it was found that character identity directly affects game players' loyalty. Even though the character identity had no direct effect on increasing guild flow, it has indirectly affected guild flow through self-esteem. The significant relationship between self-esteem and guild flow indicates that gamers achieve flow, i.e., a feeling of pleasure and excitement through social support. Several important implications of this study should be noted. First, both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to conduct this study. Through FGIs, it was observed that both social support and self-esteem are important variables. Second, because guilds had been rarely studied, this research is expected to play an important role in the online community. Third, according to the result, six hypotheses (H1, H5, H6, H7, H8, and H11) setup based on FGIs, were statistically significant; thus, we can suggest the corresponding relationships among the variables as a guideline for follow-up research. Our research is significant as it has following implications: first, the social support of the guild members is important when establishing character control, character identity, guildidentity and self-esteem. It is also a major variable that affects guild flow and game loyalty. Second, character control when improved by social support shows notable influence on the development of character identity, guild identity and self-esteem. Third, character identity and guild identity are major factors to help establish gamers' own self-esteem. Fourth, character identity affects guild flow through self-esteem and game loyalty. The gamers usually express themselves through characters; the higher character identity is, the more loyalty a gamer has. Fifth, guild identity, established within the guild, has clear effects on self-esteem, guild flow and game loyalty. Sixth, qualitative and quantitative methods are employed to conduct this study. Based on the results of focus group interviews and SEM analysis, we find that the social support by guild members and psychological factors are significant in strengthening the flow of guild and loyalty to the game. As such, game developers should provide some extra functions for guild community, through which gamers can play online games in collaboration with one another. Also, we suggest that positive self-esteem which is built up through social support can help gamers achieve higher level of flow and satisfaction, which will consequently contribute to minimizing the possibility for the players to develop negative attitude toward the guild they belong to.
