A Study on the Frequency Characteristics of Tubular and Jacket Type Tower for Offshore Wind Turbine Tower (해상 풍력 발전용 Tubular와 Jacket Type Tower의 진동 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Wind power generation is one of the promising gateways that will solve the energy crisis in the future. The wind power generator studied so far is limited to static interpretation in the areas related to tower. This study broadly sets the form of tower as tubular and jacket, identifies the characteristics of each and aims to find and apply their trend to in actual design and manufacturing process. This paper identified the resonance frequency of tower at each mode and studied their features. Furthermore, this study identified the characteristics of the load that occurs in operation and the effect of additional mass incurring when installed in sea, and it compared the two types of tower and was able to predict their trend.

  • Micro hydraulic turbines take a growing interest because of its small and simple structure as well as high possibility of applying to micro and small hydropower resources. The differential pressure exiting within the city water pipelines can be used efficiently to generate electricity like the energy generated through gravitational potential energy in dams. In order to reduce water pressure at the inlet of water cleaning centers, pressure reducing valves are used widely. Therefore, pressure energy is wasted. Instead of using the pressure reduction valve, a micro counter-rotating hydraulic turbine can be replaced to get energy caused by the large differential pressure found in the city water pipelines. In this paper, detail studies have been carried out to acquire basic design data of micro counter-rotating hydraulic turbine, output power, head, and efficiency characteristics on various number of runner vane. Moreover, the influences of pressure, tangential and axial velocity distributions on turbine performance are also investigated.

Performance Analysis of a 50㎾ Turbo-Generator Gas Turbine Engine with a Recuperator (리큐퍼레이터를 고려한 50KW급 터보제너레이터 가스터빈 엔진의 성능해석)

  • Performance analysis of a 50KW turbo-generator gas turbine engine with a recuperator was studied. Recuperated cycle has been employed to meet maximum fuel economy and ultra low emissions especially for military and vehicular engines. From thermodynamic stand point, it is known that recuperative cycle can contribute most to enhance thermal cycle efficiency for the Pressure ratios under 10 and of comparatively low turbine inlet temperature. Efficiency of a simple cycle with a recuperator increases relatively about 30% than without one at effectiveness of 0.5. Pressure losses in the heat exchanger less than 5.2% is considered in the design process. A tubular type heat exchanger is selected for this particular engine because it can provide simple construction as well as structural sturdiness and excellent leak tightness.
