  • Automatic control systems for warehouse composed of unmanned crane system and vision system. Unmanned crane system is introduced to reject oscillations of a load suspended from a trolley at a moment of its arrival at its target position. And vision system is applied to find out the coordinates of coils on trucks using image processing.

  • This paper introduces a sway suppression control for container cranes with unknown payloads and sway rates. With no priori knowledge concerning the magnitude of payload mass and sway rate, the proposed control maintains superior sway suppressing and trolley positioning against external disturbances. The proposed scheme combines a second order sliding mode control and an adaptive control to cope with unknown payloads. A second order sliding mode control without feedback of the sway rate is first designed, which is based on a class of feedback linearization methods for stabilization of the under-actuated sway dynamics of the container. Under applicable restrictions of the magnitude of payload inertia and sway rate, a linear regression model is obtained, and an adaptive control with a payload estimator is then designed, which is based on Lyapunov stability methods for the fast attenuation of trolley oscillations in the vicinity of the target position. The asymptotic stability of the overall closed-loop system is assured irrespective of variations of rope length. Simulation are shown in the existence of initial sway and external wind disturbances.

A Study on the Sway Control of a Container Crane with Varying Rope Length Based on Gain-Scheduling Approach (로프 길이변화를 고려한 크레인의 흔들림 제어에 관한 연구: Gain-Scheduling 기법에 의한 제어기 설계)

  • The sway motion control problem of a container hanging on the trolly is considered in the paper. In the container crane control problem, suppressing the residual swing motion of the container at the end of acceleration, deceleration or the case of that the unexpected disturbance input exists is main issue. For this problem, in general, many trolley motion control strategies are introduced and applied. In this paper, we introduce and synthesize a swing motion control system in which a small auxiliary mass is installed on the spreader made by ourselves. In this control system, the actuator reacting against the auxiliary mass applies inertial control forces to the container to reduce the swing motion in the desired manner. Especially, we apply the $H_{\infty}$ based gain-scheduling control technique the anti-sway control system design problem of the controlled plant. In this control system, the controller dynamics are adjusted in real-time according to time-varying plant parameters. And the simulation result shows that the proposed control strategy is shown to be useful to the case of time-varying system and, robust to disturbances like winds and initial sway motion.

  • The gain-scheduling control technique is vary useful in the control problem incorporating time varying parameters which can be measured in real time. Based on these facts, in this paper the sway control problem of the pendulum motion of a container hanging on the trolly, which transports containers from a container ship to trucks, is considered.   • The voltage drop is important in electric railway for feeding a huge power of train on fixed feeding area. Nowadays it is tried to operate a high speed trains on conventional lines and there is problem on the voltage drop too. It is simulated on the conditions increased the turn ratio of trolley, installed autotransformer neutral line with variable taps. In result, it is compensated the voltage drop between ATs and better on last AT, not on the position of AT. And it is decreased a return current and neutral current of AT because of unbalance between trolley and feeder. It should be studied faster and more controllable the solid state switchs instead of the mechanical one in order to utilize this system.

  • The sway control problem of pendulum motion of a container hanging on a Portainer Crane, which transports containers from a container ship to trucks, is considered in the paper. The equations of motion are obtained through the Lagrange mechanics and simplified for control purposes. Considering that the fast traveling of trolley and no residual swing motion of the container at the end of acceleration and deceleration are crucial for quick transportation, several velocity patterns of trolley movement including the time-optimal control are investigated. Incorporating the change of rope length, a reference swing trajectory is introduced in the control loop and the error signal between the reference sway angle and the measured sway angle is feedbacked. Proposed control strategy is shown to be robust to disturbances like winds and initial sway motion.

  • In general, AT(Auto-transformer) is used to improve voltage sag and inductive interference in power lines and communication lines in AC electrical railway feeding system. Especially, Korean AT feeding system has different composition compared to other countries like Japan or France, so that it has some special characteristics. However, relays imported from other countries have been used in Korea, and settings of these relays should be modified and reflect distinct characteristics of Korean AT feeding system. Therefore, study about fault analysis based on modeled AT feeding system is important. In this paper, we modeled a single track AT feeding system by using PSCAD and analyzed fault current flow in case of trolley-rail short circuit fault. Finally, we presented current magnitude of each branch expressed by boosting current of AT.
