초겨울 제주해협 근해에서 형성되는 전선의 특성 (Characteristics of Front near the Cheju Strait in Early Winter)

  • 한국 남서해 연안에서 여름에 발달했던 성층이 겨울철에 접어들면서 파괴되어 수직적으로 균일한 수온분포를 갖게 되는데 이러한 변화가 11월에 가장 활발하게 일어나는 것으로 나타났다. 이 변절기에 차고 염분이 낮은 연안 수괴가 대마난류와 접한 경계에 전선이 거의 수직으로 발달하며, 대마난류의 세력이 약한 제주해협의 중앙부를 제외하고는 수심 $70{\sim}90m$의 해역에서 수온전선과 염분전선의 위치는 일치하였다. 1980년 11월에 남해연안 중앙부에서 투하한 해류병이 주로 완도 근해에서 회수된 결과는 전선의 연안쪽에 있는 수괴가 서쪽으로 이동하는 남해연안반류의 존재를 뒷받침 해 주었다.

CFD을 이용한 선박 접이안시 유체력 추정에 관한 연구 (The Prediction of Hydrodynamic Forces Acting on Ship Hull Undergoing Lateral Berthing Maneuver Using CFD)

  • 대형 유조선 접이안시 발생하는 비정상 운동을 이해하기 위해서는 천수역에서 작용하는 유체력의 크기와 성질을 명학히 파악해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 수식선형인 wigley 선형을 대상으로 수심과 가속도에 따른 유체력 변화에 대해 CFD를 이용하여 직접 시간영역에서 수치 계산을 행하였다. 또한 계산 결과를 수조 실험결과와 비교하여 CFD의 타당성 및 유효성을 검증하였다. CFD의 계산 결과는 선박 접이안시 선체에 작용하는 유체력의 산출은 물론이고 선체 주위 물리적 현상이나 유장 등의 특징을 상세히 파악할 수 있었다. 또한 수심과 가속도를 변수로 행한 계산 결과를 바탕으로 최초 정지상태에서 등속운동까지의 과도 횡력을 선체 이동속도에 이동거리를 곱한 순환함수의 개념을 이용하여 모델화하였다.

남한강수계 저수기 수질변동 특성에 관한 연구 (Investigation on Water Quality Variation Characteristics during Dry Season in Namhan River Drainage Basin)

  • From the direct outflow of Chungju Dam to the junction of water body and watershed in Paldang lake is the scope of this research. This study performed to investigate the main cause of water quality deterioration and the influenced region in the middle field range of the Namhan river Basin with the onsite measurement of water quality and flow rate simultaneously during spring dry season. The purpose of this study is to find out the time-spatial variation characteristics of water quality and flow rate. Following the flow direction $BOD_5$ and $COD_{Mn}$ concentration increased to the highest value of 3.7 mg/L, 5.9 mg/L at Wolgesa respectively. Chl.a concentration increased to $50mg/m^3$ or so at Kangsang, after that it decreased to $37mg/m^3$ at the junction of Paldang lake. Organic matter concentration variation trend showed similar than that of Chl.a. Also $BOD_5$ concentration tendency was similar to Chl.a in every measuring sites except Paldang lake mixing zone. The major factors of water quality deterioration in Namhan river and Paldang lake during dry season were algal bloom and followed internal production. High phosphorus load from Dalcheon and Seom river caused dry season algal bloom and internal production in transitional zone which was stagnant area in downstream of Namhan river.

지리산 외고개습지의 수문지형특성과 경관변화 (Hydrogeomorphological Characteristics and Landscape Change of Oegogae Wetland in Jirisan National Park)

  • 외고개습지는 지리산국립공원내 아고산대의 산사면에 형성된 습지이다. 외견상으로 보아 외고개습지는 현재 잘 보존된 습지의 모습을 보여주고 있다. 대부분의 산지습지들이 고산지대의 정상부 등에 자리하고 있는데 비하여 외고개습지는 비교적 급경사의 산지사면으로부터 평탄한 계곡으로 전이되는 지점에 발달하고 있다. 외고개습지는 현재도 퇴적이 되고 있는 것으로 파악되며 퇴적층의 두께도 1m를 넘는 것으로 조사되었다. 기반암은 편마암과 편암으로 이루어져 있으며, 풍화에 강한 기반암층에 의한 불투수층 형성이 습지형성에 유리한 조건을 갖추고 있는 것으로 판단된다. 습지로부터 유출되는 하천수의 대부분은 습지에서 용출하는 지중수에 의존하고 있으며, 특히 갈수기의 경우 하천수의 전부는 지중수의 용출에 기인하고 있다. 풍수기에 내린 강수효과에 의해서 습지의 유출량은 크게 증가하고, 그와 더불어 지중수 용출량의 비중 또한 커진다.

유류오염지 주변 지하수와 지표수의 수화학적인 특성 연구 (A Study on Hydrochemistry Characteristics of Groundwater and Surface water near a Petroleum Contaminated area)

  • The aim of this study was to examine chemical and isotopic compositions of groundwater and lake water near an area contaminated by petroleum and to evaluate influence of petroleum on them during the period from March to August 2011. In dry season, $Ca^{2+}$ and $SO{_4}^{2-}$ were dominant in the groundwater and lake water and $Ca^{2+}$ and $HCO{_3}^-$ were significant in wet season. ${\delta}^{18}O$ and ${\delta}D$ of the groundwater and lake water were plotted near LMWL (${\delta}D=8.06{\delta}^{18}O+12.5$). ${\delta}^{18}O$ and ${\delta}D$ of the lake water did not show seasonal variation. However, ${\delta}^{18}O$ and ${\delta}D$ of the groundwater were enriched in wet season compared with those in dry season because of influence of small ponds around wells where evaporation losses were slightly experienced. Redox condition of most lake water was oxidation environment in contact with the atmosphere during the study period. However, redox condition of groundwater was transitional environment in dry season and oxidation environment in wet season because of influence of contaminant such as petroleum. In some groundwater, the concentrations of $NO{_3}^-$ in some groundwater were less than 1 mg/L because of denitrification. Also, $NO{_3}^-$ showed positive correlation with $SO{_4}^{2-}$ and weak negative correlation with $HCO{_3}^-$, because of influence of denitrification.

Riprap으로 보강된 농업용 저수지 제체의 붕괴거동 (Behavior of Failure on Agricultural Reservoirs Embankment by Riprap Reinforcement Method)

  • In this study, the large scale test was performed to investigate the behavior of failure on the embankment and spillway transitional zone by overtopping. The pore water pressure, earth pressure, settlement and failure behaviors according to several reinforcing method were compared and analyzed. The pore water pressure showed a small change in the spillway transition zone and core, indicating that the riprap and geotextile efficiently reinforced the embankment, but non-reinforcement showed a largely change in pore water pressure. The earth pressure by riprap and geotextile at upstream slope and bottom core increased rapidly with the infiltration of the pore water by overtopping. And the earth pressure at crest showed a smally change due to effect of the inclined core. A settlement by riprap showed a small change and the geotextile decreased a rapidly due to failure of crest. The width of failure by riprap at intermediate stage (50 min) showed a largely due to sliding of crest. But, the width and depth of the seepage erosion after the intermediate overtopping period (100 min) were very small due to the effect of riprap than geotextile and non-reinforcement which delayed failure. It has the effect that protect reservoir embankment from erosion in the central part. The pore water pressure at the spillway transition zone due to overtopping increased a rapidly in the case of non-reinforcement, but the reinforced methods by geotextile and riprap showed a smally change. Therefore, the reinforced method by riprap and geotextile was a very effective method to protect permanently and the emergency an embankment due to overtopping, respectively.

Effects of Insulation Layer upon the Thermal Behavior of Linear Motors

  • A linear motor has many advantages next to conventional feed mechanisms: high transitional speed and acceleration, high control performance, and good positioning accuracy at high speed. Through the omission of a power transfer element, the linear motor shows no wear and no backlash, has a long lifetime, and is easy to assemble. A disadvantage of the linear motor is low efficiency and resultant high-temperature rise in itself and neighboring structures during operation. This paper presents the thermal behavior of the linear motor as a feed mechanism in machine tools. To improve the thermal behavior, an insulation layer is used. By placing the insulation layer between the primary part and the machine table, both the temperature difference and the temperature fluctuation in the machine table due to a varying motor load are reduced.

A Study on the Helical Flow of Newtonian and Non-Newtonian Fluid

  • This study concerns the characteristics of helical flow in a concentric and eccentric annulus with a diameter ratio of 0.52 and 0.9, whose outer cylinders are stationary and inner ones are rotating. Pressure losses and skin friction coefficients have been measured for fully developed flows of water and 0.2% aqueous of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), respectively, when the inner cylinder rotates at the speed of 0-500 rpm. The effect of rotation on the skin friction is significantly dependent on the flow regime. In all flow regimes, the skin friction coefficient is increased by the inner cylinder rotation. The change of skin friction coefficient corresponding to the variation of rotating speed is large for the laminar flow regime, whereas it becomes smaller as Re increases for the transitional flow regime and, then, it gradually approach to zero for the turbulent flow regime.

액화석유가스(butane)의 대기중 누출현상에 대한 고찰 (Discussions on the Leak Phenomena of Liquid Butane in the Open Air)

  • Almost accidents related with gas have started with the leakage of LPG(Liquefied Petroleum Gas) in the open air. But experimental data of LPG leak jet are difficult to find because the safety of experiment is hard to secure and its phenomenon is not steady but transitional. This study is focused on the phenomena of injection jet of liquid butane to the open air. Simple experiment shows that only liquid butane jet in the open air is possible due to the slow vaporization because of low temperature difference between the liquid and air and low vapor pressure of liquid butane. Comparing with the water, 25~40% more liquid butane flow through the tube under the same pressure difference driving.
