  • In this paper, a computer-vision based pipe-inspection algorithm is developed. The algorithm uses the modified Hough transformation and a line-scanning approach to identify the edge line and radius of the pipe image, from which the eccentricity and dimension of the pipe-end is calculated. Line and circle detection was performed using Laplacian operator with input image which are acquired from the front and side cameras. In order to minimize the memory usage and the processing time, a clustering method with the modified Hough transformation for line detection.   • This paper performs the motion analysis for a disk cam and a follower mechanism using a circular arc method, a coordinate transformation method and an instant velocity method in order to find a contact point between the cam and the follower. Based on the proposed method, the displacement and the velocity are calculated by using the geometric relationships of the cam mechanism. Also, the acceleration is determined on using the central difference method. As the results, this paper presents the original curve and the analyzed curve for the motion analysis of the disk cam for an example.

  • Cam mechanism is one of the common devices used in many automatic machinery. Specially cylindrical cam generates three dimensional motions. Thus, the shape design procedures must have high accuracy. This paper proposes the shape design procedure for a cylindrical cam and follower mechanism using a relative velocity method. The relative velocity method and the coordinate transformation are used to find a contact point between the cam and the follower. Also, the full shape of the cylindrical cam can be generated by using the geometric relationships and the contact constraints. As a result, this paper presents an example for the shape design of the cylindrical cam in order to prove the accuracy of the design procedures.

A recursive approach for mechanical system design sensitivity analysis

  • Recursive formulas have been effective in solving the equations of motion for large scale constratined mechanical sys-tems. However, derivation of the formulas has been limited to individual terms in the equations of motion, such as veloci-ty, acceleration. and generalized forces. The recursive formulas are generalized in this paper. The velocity transformation method is employed to transform the equations of motion from Cartesian to the joint spaces. Computational structure of the equations of motion in the joint space is carefully examined to classify all necessary computational operations into sev-eral categories. The generalized recursive formula for each category is then developed and applied whenever such a cate-gory of computation is encountered. Since the velocity transformation method yields the equations of motion in a compact form and computational efficiency is achieved by generalized recursive formulas, the proposed method is not only easy to implement but is also efficient. A library of generalized recursive formulas is developed to implement a dynamic analysis algorithm using backward difference.

  • 본 정책총설은 세계적인 에너지 수급의 불안정과 온실가스 감축에 대한 규제에 대응하여 안정적 경제성장과 환경보호를 달성할 수 있는 대안을 제시하고 있다. 이를 위해 에너지 수급전체를 최적화하는 에너지체인(energy chain) 접근방식을 채택하고 있다. 에너지체인에 걸쳐 저탄소 친환경 에너지기술의 개발 및 산업화, 주력산업의 저탄소 친환경화, 에너지 효율성의 제고, 에너지원의 확보, 그리고 이들 정책간 정책군의 형성 등을 제시하고 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 블록 이산 코사인 변환 (block discrete cosine transformation, BDCT) 부호화 영상에서 발생하는 구획화 결함 (blocking artifact)과 링잉 결함 (ringing artifact)을 제거하기 위하여 양방향 필터 (bilateral filter)를 이용한 새로운 후처리 방법을 제안하였다. 양방향 필터에서 파라미터 선택은 필터링 결과에 큰 영향을 주는 중요한 문제로 본 논문에서는 양방향 필터의 파라미터를 효과적으로 선택하는 방법을 제시하였다. 실험 결과는 제안된 방법이 부호화 결함을 효과적으로 개선함을 PSNR, MSDS, SSIM의 수치로 보였다.

  • 학술 연구정보의 지식활용을 위한 노력으로 국내 환경공학 R&D 정보의 지식전환 가능성을 조사하였고 그 가능성에 따라 지식관리시스템 개발을 위한 고려사항과 접근법을 제시하였다. 연구범위는 정보자원자체의 현황 정보 기술 인프라, 지식기반, 그리고 지식활용 영역의 4개영역으로 구성되었고 각 영역은 세부항목으로 구분되어 총 103개 지식관리시스템의 전환가능성이 조사, 분석되었다. 진단된 결과를 중심으로 연구소 연계 프로젝트의 공동작업을 수행하고 그 진행에 따라 발생하는 연구과 정상의 문제해결과 지식전환 시에 예상 가능한 시행착오를 최소화하는 프로세스 중심의 지식관리시 스템 개발방안을 제시하였다.

A Design of Multilayer Perceptron for Camera Calibration

  • In this paper a new design of multi-layer perceptron(MLP) for camera calibration is proposed. Most existing techniques determine a transformation from 3D spatial points to their image points and camera parameters are tried to be estimated from the transformation. The technique proposed here, on the other hand, determines rays of sight uniquely from image points and parameters are estimated from the relationship using an MLP. By this approach projection and back-projection can be done more straightforwardly. Being based on a geometric model, a network design process becomes less ambiguous, which is a clear merit compared to other neural net based techniques. An MLP designed according to the technique proposed showed fast and stable learning in tests under various conditions.
