Frequent occurrences of a fire cause tremendous loss of human lives and their property. Recently, in order to cope with such catastrophic accidents, researches on fire-fighting robots are carried out in developed countries. Under the dangerous situations, it is sometimes impossible for fire-fighting men to access the firing place because of explosive materials, smoke, high temperature and so on. In such an environment, fire-fighting robots can be useful to extinguish the fire. It is usually very dangerous place where fire-fighting robots operate. Hence, these robots should be controlled by remote users who are for away from the firing place exploiting remote communication systems. This paper considers the communication systems between fire-fighting robots and remote users. The communication systems consist of two parts; digital packet communication systems and analog image communication systems. Digital packet communication systems transfer data packets in order to control fire-fighting robots and to check the state of the fire-fighting robots. Remote users watch the video around the fire-fighting robots by exploiting the analog image communication systems. In the future, the more prosperous the commercial communication network systems will be, the more evolved the communication systems for fire-fighting robots are.
In this paper, describe the automatic climbing wheelchair system use an articulated crawler mobile robot. This wheelchair system(call system) is composed of sensor detecting part and wireless communication part with PC. The sensor parts are consisted of sloping sensor and ultrasonic sensor part. The sloping sensor measures the sloping angle of system, and the ultrasonic sensor measures the distance of system's front wheel center from stair. PC will generate the operation data to climb up the stair using the measured data and make primitives for the system. At firsts This system transfer from sensor data to the PC. PC calculate the operation data to climb up the stair from the internal algorithm. We simulated the system in various stair angle slope($25^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$), and tested it on the real staircase with width 37cm, highlt 18cm, Angle $26^{\circ}$ . There were $0.350^{\circ}$ - $1.060^{\circ}$ Angle errors while climbing because adapted sensor has a precision $0.35^{\circ}$ in resolution. Finally, We implemented the sensor detecting part and the wireless communication park and practiced our system in 4cm/sec speed.

In this paper, a new haptic device is proposed for the teleoperation, which can recognize the invisible environment of a mobile robot. With this new device, it is possible for the user to identify the location of an obstacle and to avoid it. The haptic device has been attached on the top of a joystick so that the user can remotely control the mobile robot to avoid the obstacles which are recognized by the ultrasonic sensors. Also, the invisible environment is recognized more accurately overlapping the data from the ultrasonic sensors. There are five vibration motors in the haptic device to indicate the direction of the obstacle. So the direction of the obstacle can be recognized by the vibration at the finger on each vibration motor. For various situations and surrounding environments, experiments are performed using fuzzy controller and overlapping ultrasonic sensors. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed haptic joystick.
It was investigated thermal performances on two array types of a serial circulation and a two-way parallel circulation for six water-cooled cold plates covered with non-metallic material (polycarbonate, PC) to reduce weight of the cooling devices for humanoid robot cooling. Six cold plates attached on $10{\times}10\;mm^2$ copper base : $0.5{\times}0.5\;mm^2$ pin-finned surfaces of 1.5 mm high with 0.5 mm array spacing, was mounted on six copper heating blocks with isothermal conditions of $50{\sim}90^{\circ}C$, respectively. In order to compare thermal characteristics according to two circulation types, the surface temperatures of heating blocks and the cooling water temperatures at inlets and outlets of cold plates were measured. From the results, it was found that a two-way parallel circulation was better performance than a serial circulation in terms of total thermal resistance, total heat transfer rate, and surface temperature rises from $1^{st}$ heating block to last one for six multiple cold plates.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review the influence of robot systems on nursing and robotics technology. Methods: The research design was a review article. The literature was done to help understand the current status and effects of robotic technology in the healthcare field, both domestic and overseas. The keywords searched were 'Nursing', 'Robot', and 'Patient safety' in Pubmed, CINAHL etc, and 'Nursing Activity', 'Nursing Care Integration Service' in RISS and KISS. Results: In healthcare, robotics is used in five areas; personal care robots, mobility and transfer robots, cognitive and emotional robots, nursing assist robots and care robots in palliative home care settings. Nurses' demands for utilization of robotic systems are high. Especially, if robotics is used for indirect and non-value-added nursing activities, efficiency may increase. Therefore, robotics should be used to help nurses focus on bedside care and perform better nursing care. Conclusion: Future robots and technology can help nurse to provide optimal nursing to patients, and will improve the quality life of patients. It is suggested that nursing research should be actively pursued in the future. Especially, it is an urgent field to improve nursing quality and reduce the burden of nurses.
As the use of robots in service area increases, research has been conducted to replace human tasks in daily life with robots. Among them, this study focuses on the tidy-up task on a desk using a robot arm. The order in which tidy-up motions are carried out has a great impact on the success rate of the task. Therefore, in this study, a neural network-based method for determining the priority of the tidy-up motions from the input image is proposed. Reinforcement learning, which shows good performance in the sequential decision-making process, is used to train such a task planner. The training process is conducted in a virtual tidy-up environment that is configured the same as the actual tidy-up environment. To transfer the learning results in the virtual environment to the actual environment, the input image is preprocessed into a segmented image. In addition, the use of a neural network that excludes unnecessary tidy-up motions from the priority during the tidy-up operation increases the success rate of the task planner. Experiments were conducted in the real world to verify the proposed task planning method.

The purpose of this paper is to develop a module capable of all-directional driving different from conventional wheeled robots, and to solve the problems of the conventional mobile robot with side driving performance degradation, It is possible to overcome the disadvantages such as an increase in the time required for the unnecessary driving. The all - direction spherical wheel drive module for driving a ball - balancing robot is required to develop a power transfer mechanism and a driving algorithm for driving the robot in all directions using three rotor casters. 3DoF (Axis) A driver with built-in forward motion algorithm is embedded in the module and a driving motor module with 3DoF (axis) for driving direction and speed is installed. The movement mechanism depends on the sum of the rotation vectors of the respective driving wheels. It is possible to create various movement directions depending on the rotation and the vector sum of two or three drive wheels. It is possible to move in different directions according to the rotation vector field of each driving wheel. When a more innovative all-round spherical wheel drive module for forward movement is developed, it can be used in the driving part of the mobile robot to improve the performance of the robot more technically, and through the forward-direction robot platform with the drive module Conventional wheeled robots can overcome the disadvantage that the continuous straightening performance is lowered due to resistance to various environments. Therefore, it is necessary to use a full-direction driving function as well as a cleaning robot and a mobile robot applicable in the Americas and Europe It will be an essential technology for guide robots, boarding robots, mobile means, etc., and will contribute to the expansion of the intelligent service robot market and future automobile market.

Recently, in accordance with the 4th industrial revolution, The use of autonomous mobile robots for flexible logistics transfer is increasing in factories, the warehouses and the service areas, etc. In large factories, many manual work is required to use Simultaneous Localization and Mapping(SLAM), so the need for the improved mobile robot autonomous driving is emerging. Accordingly, in this paper, an algorithm for mapless navigation that travels in an optimal path avoiding fixed or moving obstacles is proposed. For mapless navigation, the robot is trained to avoid fixed or moving obstacles through Deep Q Network (DQN) and accuracy 90% and 93% are obtained for two types of obstacle avoidance, respectively. In addition, DQN requires a lot of learning time to meet the required performance before use. To shorten this, the target size change algorithm is proposed and confirmed the reduced learning time and performance of obstacle avoidance through simulation.

A cluster tool for semiconductor manufacturing is an integrated device that consists of several single wafer processing modules and a wafer transport module based on a robot. The distributed module controllers are integrated by an inter-module communication network and coordinated by a centralized controller, called a cluster tool controller (CTC). Since the CTC monitors and coordinates the distributed complex module controllers for advanced process control, complex commuication messaging and services between the CTC and the module controllers are required. A SEMI standard, CTMC(Cluster Tool Module Communication), specifies application-level communication service requirements for inter-module communication. We propose the use of high-level fieldbuses, for instance. PROFIBUS-FMS, for implementing CTMC since the high-level fieldbuses are well suited for complex real-time distributed manufacturing control applications. We present a way of implementing CTMC using PROFIBUS-FMS as the communication enabler. We first propose improvements of a key object of CTMC for material transfer and the part transfer protocol to meet the functional requirements of modem advanced cluster tools. We also discuss mapping objects and services of CTMC to PROFIBUS-FMS communication objects and services. Finally, we explain how to implement the mappings.

Recently, the number of consumers using digital online distribution platforms is increasing. This caused the rapid growth of the e-commerce market and increased delivery volume in urban areas. The logistics system, designed ar006Fund the city center to handle the delivery volume, operates a delivery system from the outskirts of the city to the urban area using cargo trucks. This maintains an ecosystem of high-cost and inefficient structures that increase social costs such as road traffic congestion and environmental problems. To solve this problem, research is being conducted worldwide to establish a high-efficiency urban joint logistics system using urban railway facilities and underground space infrastructure existing in existing cities. The joint logistics system begins with linking unmanned delivery automation services that link terminal delivery such as cargo classification and stacking, infrastructure construction that performs cargo transfer function by separating from passengers such as using cargo platform. To this end, it is necessary to apply the device to the vertical and horizontal transportation machine supporting the vertical transfer in the flat space of the joint logistics terminal, which is the base technology for transporting cargo using the transfer robot to the destination designated as a freight-only urban railway vehicle. Therefore, this paper aims to derive holistic viewpoints needs for design requirements for vertical and vertical transportation machines and freight transportation standard containers, which are underground railway logistics transport devices to be constructed by urban logistics ecosystem changes.
