An optimal capturing trajectory for a moving object is proposed in this paper based on the observation that a single-curvature path is more accurate than double-or triple-curvature paths. Moving distance, moving time, and trajectory error are major factors considered in deciding an optimal path for capturing the moving object. That is, the moving time and distance are minimized while the trajectory error is maintained as small as possible. The three major factors are compared for the single and the double curvature trajectories to show superiority of the single curvature trajectory. Based upon the single curvature trajectory, a kinematics model of a mobile robot is proposed to follow and capture the moving object, in this paper. A capturing scenario can be summarized as follows: 1. Motion of the moving object has been captured by a CCD camera., 2. Position of the moving object has been estimated using the image frames, and 3. The mobile robot tries to follow the moving object along the single curvature trajectory which matches positions and orientations of the moving object and the mobile robot at the final moment. Effectiveness of the single curvature trajectory modeling and capturing algorithm has been proved, through simulations and real experiments using a 2-DOF wheel-based mobile robot.

This paper presents a design scheme of torque control for wheeled mobile robot(WMR) to asymptotically track the target reference trajectory. By considering the kinematic model of WMR, trajectory tracking control generates the desired tracking trajectory, which is transformed into the command velocity vector for the real WMR to track the target reference trajectory. The dynamic equation of the state error between the target reference trajectory and the desired tracking trajectory is represented by Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model, and this model is used as the reference model for the real mobile robot error dynamics to follow. The control parameters are updated by adaptive laws that are designed for the error states of the real WMR to asymptotically follow the states of reference error model for the desired tracking trajectory. The proposed control is applied to a typical wheeled mobile robot and simulation studies are carried out to verify the validity and effectiveness of the control scheme.
In trajectory-based navigation systems, a huge amount of trajectory data is needed for efficient route explorations. However, it would be very hard to collect trajectories from all the possible start and destination combinations. To provide a practical solution to this problem, we suggest a method combining collected GPS trajectories data into additional generated trajectories with new start and destination combinations without road information. We present a trajectory combination algorithm and its implementation with Scala programming language on Spark platform for big data processing. The experimental results proved that the proposed method can effectively populate the collected trajectories into valid trajectory paths more than three hundred times.

When user wants to find objects which have the nearest position from him, we use the nearest neighbor (NN) query. The GIS applications, such as navigation system and traffic control system, require processing of NN query for moving objects (MOs). MOs have trajectory with changing their position over time. Therefore, we should be able to find NN object continuously changing over the whole query time when process NN query for MOs, as well as moving nearby on trajectory of query. However, none of previous works consider trajectory information between objects. Therefore, we propose a method of continuous NN query for trajectory of MOs. We call this CTNN (continuous trajectory NN) technique. It ran find constantly valid NN object on the whole query time by considering of trajectory information.
The purpose of this study was to qualitatively analyze pressure intensity and the center of pressure(COP) trajectory according to shoe type. Subjects were ten first-year female university students. The EMED-AT 25/D(Novel, Germany) was used to measure pressure intensity and COP trajectory. The COP Excursion Index(CPEI) was used for within subject test design. Independent variables were bare feet and six types of shoes. Dependent variables were center of pressure trajectory and pressure intensity. Barefeet and five toed shoes had a similar pressure intensity and COP trajectory. COP trajectory for all other shoe types showed a medial wobble at the heel. Pressure intensity for all other shoe types was related to the structure of the shoes. In conclusion, different shoe types can not only affect gait, but they can also influence foot deformities, pain, and dysfunction.

It is well-known that bio-systems does not calculate inverse dynamics for trajectory planning, but they move by proper modulation of system impedances. Inspired by bio-systems, a biomimetic trajectory planning method is proposed in this work. This scheme is based on employment of redundant actuation which prevails in bio-systems. We discuss that for the generation of the biomimetic trajectory, intelligent structure of bio-systems plays an important role. Redundant actuation and kinematic redundancy fall into such a category of intelligent structure. The proposed biomimetic trajectory planning modulates the complete dynamic behavior such as natural frequencies and damping ratios by using the intelligent structure. Experimental work is illustrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed biomimetic trajectory planning for a five-bar mechanism with redundant actuators.

This work presents a synchronized on-line trajectory generation algorithm for mechanical system with multiple degrees-of-freedom. Proposed algorithm is designed to generate time-optimized trajectories and synchronized trajectories under the constraints such as maximum speed, acceleration, deceleration, non-zero initial velocity, etc. Also, because of small computation time, therefore this can be applied in real-time and it is easier to change the trajectory when an event occurs. We verified the feasibility through various trajectory generation.
Applications such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and the time varying nature of their navigation, guidance and control systems motivate an integrated approach to trajectory general ion and trajectory tracking for autonomous vehicles. In this paper, an experimental testbed was designed for studying this integrated trajectory control approach. In this paper we apply the separating approach to an autonomous nonlinear vehicle system. A new linear matrix inequality based H$_{\infty}$ control technique for periodic time-varying systems is applied to the role of trajectory tracking. Trajectory general ion is accomplished by exploit ing the differential flatness property of the vehicle system; this at lows product ion of desired feasible nominal or reference trajectories from certain ″flat'system outputs. Simulation and experimental results are presented showing stable tracking of a periodic circular trajectory.
Generally, the wheel-driven mobile robot systems, by their structural property, have nonholonomic constraints. These constraints are not integrable and cannot be written as time derivatives of some functions with respect to the generalized coordinates. Hence, nonlinear approaches are required to solve the problems. In this paper, the trajectory controller of wheeled mobile robot systems is suggested to guarantee its convergence to reference trajectory. Design procedure of the suggested trajectory controller is back-stepping scheme which was introduced recently in nonlinear control theory. The performance of the proposed trajectory controller is verified via computer simulation. In the simulation, the trajectory controller is applied to differentially driven robot system and car-like mobile robot system on the assumption that the trajectory planner be given.
This paper is concerned with walking trajectory generation by applying the genetic algorithm. The walking trajectory is generated though three via-points and genetic algorithm is employed to find velocity and acceleration at each via-point. Also genetic algorithm is applied for balancing joint trajectory. Fitness function is used for minimizing the trajectory. As a result, new algorithm generated the smooth trajectory. The proposed algorithm is verified by the experiment of biped walking robot developed in our Control laboratory, and we compared the result with the previous walking algorithm. It showed that the new proposed algorithm generated the better walking trajectory.
