  • This paper is intended as an verification of moving load simulation techniques. The concern with dynamic problem of railway bridge caused by the moving train loads has been growing. Over the past few years, several studies have been made on dynamic stability of railway bridge analytically. But very few attempts have been made at experimental research. From the dynamic stability view point, the moving train loads simulation test is revolutionary idea. It can be replace restrictive filed test with new laboratory test. This study investigates minimum specifications of hardware and basic parameters. it is used 12m girder and high performance actuator for experimental verification.

크랭크샤프트계의 윤활 및 마찰 특성에 미치는 밸런스 웨이트의 영향 (The Effect of Balance Weight on the Lubrication and Friction Characteristics of Crankshaft System)

  • This paper reports on the balance weight effect on the lubrication and friction characteristics of crankshaft system. To determine the main bearing loads, the crankshaft was treated as statically determinate system. Four and eight-balance weight crankshafts were considered, and minimum oil film thickness and friction loss were calculated. The main bearing loads were increased in the four-balance shaft due to the increasing of unbalanced rotating mass at No. 1 and 3 main bearing sides. The minimum oil film thickness of four-balance shaft became thinner than eight-balance, and friction loss was increased.

  • Recently it is a tendency that Diesel rolling stock is committing in the commuter's train route of the suburb for solving commuting traffic congestion. It has advantage which expense of diesel rolling stock is relatively cheaper than electric rail car or high-speed train. In addition, it can be using the exist route without large-scale facility investment. Because of this advantage, the demand of diesel rolling stock occupy regular portion from overseas railway car market. GM/RT 2100 specifies the loads vehicle bodies shall be capable of withstanding, identifies how material data shall be used and presents the principles to be used for design verification by analysis. Therefore, in order to fulfill the structural requirements, Rotem Company has carried out Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to verify whether the carbody structure has enough strength to withstand the loads specified by GM/RT 2100. This research contains the results obtained by the analysis. The analysis was carried out using I-DEAS 12 NX Series

  • It is of utmost important that track loads at rail induced by running train was usually obtained for track performance evaluation. A reaction force of track was measured wheel loads and lateral force by strain gauges on the rail, and then it was obtained to derailment coefficient and variational ratio of wheel load from its relationship. In this study, a existing monitoring system methods with many manpower working were reviewed about measurements, process of testing, and how to obtain accurately measured data.

  • High speed electric trains have nonlinear loads including converters and inverters for the control synchronous motors. Harmonic field measurements have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. Direct application of the harmonic assessment to the snapshot measurements would result in ambiguous conclusions depending on which instant is sampled. A cumulative probabilistic approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying harmonics. This paper provides an in depth analysis on harmonics field measurement of the high speed electric train loads, harmonics assessment by the international harmonic standards IEC 61000-3-6 and IEEE Std. 519-1992, and harmonics simulation using EDSA program for the case study.

Dynamic effect of high-speed trains on simple bridge structures

  • In this paper the overall dynamic response of simple railway bridges subjected to high-speed trains is investigated numerically based on the mechanical models of simply supported single-span and continuous two-span Bernoulli-Euler beams. Each axle of the train, which is composed of rail cars and passenger cars, is considered as moving concentrated load. Distance, magnitude, and maximum speed of the moving loads are adjusted to real high-speed trains and to load models according to Eurocode 1. Non-dimensional characteristic parameters of the train-bridge interaction system are identified. These parameters permit a spectral representation of the dynamic peak response. Response spectra assist the practicing engineers in evaluating the expected dynamic peak response in the design process of railway bridges without performing time-consuming time history analyses.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the validation to passage of high speed train on conventional railway bridges. The dynamic behavior of bridge is analyzed by using the developed 3-D program. The train is assumed to moving loads and track to distributed masses. The centrifugal force due to curved track is also considered. The numerical results are compared with those measured in the site to demonstrate the efficiency of the developed program. From the parametric study, it is notified that conventional bridge gives good serviceability to passage of high speed train, specially such as TGV-K.

  • 고속전철 부하는 동기 전동기를 제어하기 위해 컨버터와 인버터를 포함한 많은 비선형 부하를 가지고 있다. 고조파 측정 결과로 고조파는 시간에 따라 변하는 특성이 관측되었다. 순시치 측정에 의한 고조파 평가는 측정 순간에 따라 고조파가 다를 수 있으므로 모호한 결과를 초래할 수 있다. 시간에 따라 변하는 고조파를 해결하기 위해 쓰이는 가장 보편적인 방법은 누적확률을 사용하는 것이다. 고조파 시뮬레이션은 사례연구 시스템의 전압 및 전류 왜곡을 평가하기 위해 이용되었다. 본 논문에서는 고속전철 부하의 고조파 현장 측정, 국제 고조파 관리 기준인 IEC 61000-3-6과 IEEE Std. 519에 의한 고조파 평가, EDSA 프로그램을 사용한 시뮬레이션을 심도있게 다루고자 한다.

  • 디젤 엔진의 푸쉬로드 타입의 밸브 트레인에서의 힘의 전달 과정을 기구학적 응용을 통하여 구하였다. 이러한 힘의 최종 전달 단계인 캠과 평판 종동물의 접촉에서의 작용하중과 상대 운동 속도를 계산하였고 접촉면에서의 유막 두께를 고체면의 탄성변형을 고려하여 계산하였다. 특히 탄성 유체 윤활의 해석을 하는데 있어서 안정성과 수렴성이 우수한 멀티그리드 멀티레벨 기법을 사용하였으며 동하중 상태를 고려하여 유막 두께를 계산하고 기존의 정상상태의 해석해와 비교하였다.

The effect of local topography on the seismic response of a coupled train-bridge system

  • The local topography has a significant effect on the characteristics of seismic ground motion. This paper investigates the influence of topographic effects on the seismic response of a train-bridge system. A 3-D finite element model with local absorbing boundary conditions is established for the local site. The time histories of seismic ground motion are converted into equivalent loads on the artificial boundary, to obtain the seismic input at the bridge supports. The analysis of the train-bridge system subjected to multi-support seismic excitations is performed, by applying the displacement time histories of the seismic ground motion to the bridge supports. In a case study considering a bridge with a span of 466 m crossing a valley, the seismic response of the train-bridge system is analyzed. The results show that the local topography and the incident angle of seismic waves have a significant effect on the seismic response of the train-bridge system. Leaving these effects out of consideration may lead to unsafe analysis results.
