This study tried to analyze traffic assignment volume by application of land use patterns and transport policies in District Unit Design. It is postulated a Toy network and various scenarios which are combined land use patterns and transport policies for analyzing change of assignment volume. As results, this study shows best District Unit Design technique is the policy that develop mid block and introduction of car free zone to inner 2 way streets. Worst design technique is the policy that introduction of joint car parking to mid block. And also worst design technique to residents who are living in inner block is the policy that just develop only one center zone.

In this study, we studied the directional pattern of entering the intersection from the intersection upstream link prior to predicting short future (such as 5 or 10 minutes) intersection direction traffic volume on the interrupted flow, and examined the possibility of traffic volume prediction using traffic assignment model. The analysis method of this study is to investigate the similarity of patterns by performing cluster analysis with the ratio of traffic volume by intersection direction divided by 2 hours using taxi DTG (Digital Tachograph) data (1 week). Also, for linking with the result of the traffic assignment model, this study compares the impact area of 5 minutes or 10 minutes from the center of the intersection with the analysis result of taxi DTG data. To do this, we have developed an algorithm to set the impact area of intersection, using the taxi DTG data and traffic assignment model. As a result of the analysis, the intersection entry pattern of the taxi is grouped into 12, and the Cubic Clustering Criterion indicating the confidence level of clustering is 6.92. As a result of correlation analysis with the impact area of the traffic assignment model, the correlation coefficient for the impact area of 5 minutes was analyzed as 0.86, and significant results were obtained. However, it was analyzed that the correlation coefficient is slightly lowered to 0.69 in the impact area of 10 minutes from the center of the intersection, but this was due to insufficient accuracy of O/D (Origin/Destination) travel and network data. In future, if accuracy of traffic network and accuracy of O/D traffic by time are improved, it is expected that it will be able to utilize traffic volume data calculated from traffic assignment model when controlling traffic signals at intersections.

In this paper, we have proposed a channel assignment shceme for the multiple traffic class environment where the traffic volume varies with time. Our basic idea is to assign radio channels considering the characteristics of each traffic class and mobile speed and change the number of allocated channels for each traffic class according to vaiation of traffic volume. To evalute the perfomance of our proposed algorithms, we conducted analyical and simulation studies. We derived new call blocking probability and hand-off failure probability of the proposed scheme analytically. The simulatioh results show that our proposed algorithms can grantee GOS of each traffic class and provide a fairness between the new call and the hand-off call.
A volume-delay function(VDF) has been used to describe the relation between traffic volumes and delay experienced by travelers on the roads traveling from origin to destination, which has been usually adopted in traffic assignment. For the purpose of more precise description of traffic pattern, we have to estimate the parameters of VDF in advance. This paper presents a methodology for estimating the parameters, which combined with golden section method. By using the method we have estimated the parameters with real data based on KTDB(2006), and validated them. Compared to the existing values of the parameters, newly estimated values are found to be closer to real world.

Some studies were conducted for the purpose of minimizing total clearance time for rapid evacuation from the indoor spaces when disaster occurs. Most studies took a long time to calculate the optimal evacuation route that derived minimum evacuation time. For this reason, this study proposes an evacuation route assignment algorithm that can shorten the total clearance time in a short operational time. When lots of exits are in the building, this algorithm can shorten the total clearance time by assigning the appropriate pedestrian traffic volume to each exit and balances each exit-load. The graph theory and greedy algorithm were utilized to assign pedestrian traffic volume to each exit in this study. To verify this algorithm, study used a cellular automata-based evacuation simulator and experimented various occupants distribution in a building structure. As a result, the total clearance time is reduced by using this algorithm, compared to the case of evacuating occupants to the exit within shortest distance. And it was confirmed that the operation takes a short time In a large building structure.

This study deals with the unsignalized intersection delay in the urban transportation demand forecasting. The objectives are to develop the unsignalized intersection delay models and to comparatively analyze the applicability of the above models. In pursuing the above, this study gives particular attentions to simulating by KHCS program and implementing the case study of Cheongju using EMME/2. The major findings are the followings. First, the 8 unsignalized intersection delay models were developed through 480 simulating results, which are all statistically significant. Second, the estimates by the unsignalized delay models were analyzed to be most fitted to the observed traffic volume data.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of C02 emissions by road before establishing a policy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Method: As for the analysis method, the traffic volume and speed of the road were estimated using the traffic Assignment model targeting 27 arterial road axes in Incheon Metropolitan City. And, after estimating CO2 emissions by road axis by applying this, the characteristics of each group were analyzed through cluster analysis. Result: As a result of cluster analysis using total CO2 emissions, CO2 emissions by truck vehicles, and the ratio of truck vehicle emissions to total carbon dioxide emissions, four clusters were classified. When examining the characteristics of each road included in each group, it was analyzed that the characteristics of each group appeared according to the level of impact by CO2 emissions and truck vehicles. Conclusion: It is judged that it is necessary to establish a plan in consideration of CO2 emission characteristics for road CO2 management for greenhouse gas reduction.
The goals of this study are to develop travel time functions based on intersection delay and to analyze the applicability of the functions to traffic assignment models. The study begins with the premise that the existing assignment models can not effectively account for intersection delay time. In pursuing the goals, this study gives particular attention to dividing the link travel time into link moving time and stopped time at node, making the models based on such variables as the travel speed, volume, geometry, and signal data of signalized intersections in Cheongju, and analyzing the applicability of these models to traffic assignment. There are several major findings. First, the study presents the revised percentage of lanes (considering type of intersection) instead of g/C for calculating intersection delay, which is analyzed to be significant in the paired t-test. Second, the assigned results of applying these models to the Cheongju network in EMME/2 are compared with the data observed from a test car survey in Cheongju. The analyses show that the BPR models do not consider the intersection delay, but the modified uniform delay model and modified Webster model are comparatively well fitted to the observed data. Finally, the assigned results of applying these models are statistically compared with the test car survey data in assigned volume, travel time, and average speed. The results show that the estimates from the divided travel time model are better fitted to observed data than those from the BPR model.
In this study, which aims to estimate the volume of greenhouse gas emitted by road transportation vehicles in Changwon City, the emission rate was calculated on the basis of the actual traffic volume measured at major crossroads and compared with the results obtained from the methodology used to estimate the greenhouse gas emissions of road transportation provided in the IPCC 2006 GL guidelines (Tier 1, Tier 3). Analysis of the results of the comparison showed that the Tier 1 methodology, which was applied in the estimation of the rate of greenhouse gas emissions, carries a high probability of underestimation, while the Tier 3 methodology carries a relatively high probability of overestimation. Therefore, when considering the assignment of permissible rates of emission to local governments, the application of the methodology, i.e. whether one uses Tier 1 or Tier 3, may result in a large difference in the rate of allowable emissions. It is suggested that a method based on the actual volume of traffic would be the most reasonable one with regard to the development of a realistic plan.
A dynamic transportation management should be applied specially in AM peak because AM peak is more critical than PM peak in traffic volume and demand. AM peak trip can be characterized by commuting and schooling. which have the high level of usage on public transportation, and constraint on arrival time. So transportation management applied in AM peak could deal with a mode choice and an arrival time constrain. Researchers were involved in the dynamic transportation assignment models for management of congested traffic network. But, there were no models which considered a mode choice and an arrival time constrain should be included in management of AM peak. So there are limits to use exist models to control and analyze AM peak traffic. In this study, it is proposed the combined dynamic transportation model, considering a mode choice and the start time selection with arrival time constrains, based on Ran and Boyce's model. The proposed model is verified the compatibility by applying to the newly designed time space expanded network. The result shows that proposed model consistent with dynamic user optimal travel pattern. From this we certificate the applicability of the proposed model to control and analyze AM peak traffic.
