The purpose of this study was to investigate the eating behavior and life habits of kindergarten children 5 to 7 years old in Chuncheon area. This study was conducted in December, 1996. Anthropometric indices(height, weight, skinfold thickness, mid-arm circumference) were measured and body mass index(BMI), Rohrer index, arm fat area were calculated to estimate children’s body fatness. Also the eating behavior and life habits were determined tv using questionnaire method. The results were as follows: Body fat rate of the children was almost normal according to Rohrer index and BMI. There was significant difference in birth weight between male and female. The problems of the eating behavior were frequent skipping breakfast and eating-out. The rate of the children who took snacks 2 times a day was 46.9%. Most children tended to take sweet snacks such as ice-cream, chocolates, cookies, and they tended to prefer meats and fishes to vegetables. The rate of breast feeding was 28.3% and the rate of weaning foods prepared at home was 61.1%. Many children preferred indoor activities such as watching TV, toy furniture play, building block to outdoor activities such as roller-skating, cycling, jogging in their spare time. The rate of the children who took exercise regularly was 15%. Children tended to eat kimbap, fried chicken, ramyeon more frequently in various instant foods. The intake rates of fruit juice and barly tea were relatively high and children's favorite fruits were watermelon and mandarin orange. From this results, skipping breakfast, frequent eating-out and the monotony of food preference appears to cause imbalance in nutrient intakes of the children and to have bad influence on children’s health. Accodgingiy, the comprehensive nutrition education and proper modification program should be needed for the children and their parents to correct the eating behavior and life habits. The reasonable exercise programs are needed to motivate outdoor activities of the children, and the importance of breast feeding and weaning foods should be emphasized to lactating women and pregnant women.
Vibrations induced by traffic loading and construction activities are extremely important due to their potential to cause damage to adjacent structures and toy complaints to the neighbors. Vibration induced damage to the built environment may be caused by the direct transmission of vibrations as well as by the, vibration induced differential settlement. In order to effectively control the vibration related problems, the accurate in-situ vibration monitoring is essential. In this paper, a calibration technique of a geophone which is widely used in practice was described. Once the frequency characteristics of individual geophones were calibrated, the 3fomponent geophone was developed for the in-depth vibration measurement, and the dot ailed calibration and application techniques of the 3fomponent geophone were described. Vibrations caused by blasting, train loading, and pile driving were measured and the applicability of the 3fomponent geophone was assessed.
A series of torsion shear tests were performed to study the strength characteristics of sand under various stress paths during rotation of principal stress. These results can be classified into two groups of 25cm and 40cm according to the height of specimen, and toy que was applied only in the clockwise direction. In this study, strength characteristics of sand for the principal stress ratio in torsion sheartests were investigated and their results were compared with Lade's failure criterion. And the effect for specimen was considered. From the results of tests, friction angle of sand was affected by the deviatoric principal stress ratio $b:(\sigma_2 -\sigma_s)/(\sigma_2, -\sigma_3)$Failure strength of sand was determined not by the stress paths but by the current stress state. From comparison of specimens on 25cm and 40cm height, effect of end restraint could not be found. In the test where b is over 0.5 due to extension force, necking phenomenon by the strain localization was found.
Most commercially available collaboration support systems are not proper for small enterprises in a specific area such as small e-design companies, because they are focused on general functionalities, required by most large enterprises. In this paper, we analyze the requirements for improving communication environments of small e-design companies, and propose an advanced communication management tool which reflects those requirements. The communication platform focuses the acknowledgement process by customer and the schedule sharing and management between project members. The proposed system suggest a new research direction which supports the systematic collaboration with external entities such as customers rather than the unsystematic collaboration between internal members, and improves the communication environment of those small e-design companies that are desperately in need of a cost-effective way to carry out projects, and will help in the process of successful projects.

A 10-year-old, intact male, toy poodle was presented with abdominal distension, truncal alopecia, hepatomegaly, and sustained elevation of alkaline phosphatase. Vacuolar hepatopathy and glycogen deposition in hepatocytes were confirmed by liver biopsy and ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration with periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) staining of mass lesion respectively. Cortisol and some sex hormones associated with adrenal gland were analyzed at IDEXX Reference Laboratories before and 1 hour after ACTH stimulation. The results of analysis confirmed elevation of some sex hormones including androstenedione, progesterone and 17 hydroxyprogesterone, not cortisol concentration, before and 1 hour after ACTH stimulation. The dog was diagnosed as atypical form of hyperadrenocorticism associated with sex steroids excess. The treatment was initiated with trilostane (0.5 mg/kg, PO, q12hr) that is an adrenal steroid synthesis inhibitor. Trilostane was administered for 8 weeks and the clinical sign including truncal alopecia was improved.
This study examines whether the reinforcement theory would be effectively applied to teaching assistant robots between a robot and a student in the same way as it is applied to teaching methods between a teacher and a student. Participants interact with a teaching assistant robot in a 3 (types of robots: positive reinforcement vs. negative reinforcement vs. both reinforcements) by 2 (types of participants: honor students vs. backward students), within-subject experiment. Three different types of robots, such as 'Ching-chan-ee' which gives 'positive reinforcement', 'Um-bul-ee' which gives 'negative reinforcement', and 'Sang-bul-ee' which gives both 'positive and negative reinforcement' are designed based on the reinforcement theory and the token reinforcement system. Participants' task performance and reaction rate are measured according to the types of robots and the types of participants. In task performance, the negative reinforcement robot is more effective than the other two types, but regarding the number of stimulus, the less the stimulus is, the more effective the task performance is. Also, participants showed the highest reaction rate on the negative reinforcement robot which implies that the negative reinforcement robot is most effective to motivate students. The findings demonstrate that the participants perceive the teaching assistant robot not as a toy but as a teaching assistant and the reinforcement interaction is important and effective for teaching assistant robots to motivate students. The results of this study can be implicated as an effective guideline to interaction design of teaching assistant robots.

The conventional educational robots, which are commonly industrial robots or toy robots, use text-based programming to teach the students. Therefore, students have difficulty in studying robotics due to the difficulties of text based language. The developed robot in this study have a camera, which have the color tracking function, and it has various sensors and actuators. It supports the open hardware and uses graphic language based programming. The developed educational robot is programmed by Scratch, which uses graphic modular language. We also present a curriculum, which is based upon the developed robot and Scratch. We applied the robot and curriculum to the primary school students. We obtained satisfactory results comparing it with the conventional robot education. Furthermore, the imagination and execution ability of students showed enhancement in learning robotics. Thus, this fact means the validity and effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Objective: This study evaluated the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of fixed orthodontic treatment with three different light-cured orthodontic bonding composites by analyzing micronucleus (MN) formation in the buccal mucosa during a 6-month period. Methods: Thirty healthy volunteers were selected from consecutive patients referred for orthodontic treatment. Equilibrium 2 brackets and molar tubes (Dentaurum) were bonded with three different lightcured orthodontic bonding composites-Transbond XT (3M Unitek), Kurasper F (Kuraray Europe), or GrenGloo (Ormco Corporation)- to all teeth in both arches. Exfoliated buccal epithelial cells were scraped from the middle part of the inner cheeks with sterile cement spatulas before treatment and at 1, 3, and 6 months after treatment. MNs and nuclear alterations, such as karyorrhexis (KR), karyolysis (KL), and binucleated cells (BNs), were scored under a light microscope. Repeated measure ANOVA was used to calculate statistical differences in degenerative nuclear abnormalities. Results: MN rates did not significantly differ among different time points within the same cell type (p > 0.05). In contrast, the number of BNs in buccal epithelial cells significantly increased in all composite groups (p < 0.01, Transbond XT; p < 0.001, Kurasper F and GrenGloo). KL frequency significantly increased between the beginning and end of the study in the Kurasfer F ($0.80{\pm}0.79$ to $1.90{\pm}1.10$; p < 0.05) and GrenGloo ($1.30{\pm}1.06$ to $2.40{\pm}1.08$; p < 0.05) groups. Conclusions: After 6 months of fixed orthodontic treatment with different light-cured composites, morphological signs of cytotoxicity were observed but genotoxic effects were absent.
