  • The domain of entrepreneurship has been dotted across various paradigms. Identifying and examining entrepreneurial intention and propensity to it spontaneously require the insight from the lens of psychological approach. The aim of this study is to examine the influence and impact of psychological factors on entrepreneurial intention; as it is found that in Bangladeshi context several entrepreneurship studies are undertaken, still the exploratory research on interplay between the psychological factors (i.e., self-confidence, locus of control, need for achievement, and tolerance for ambiguity) and entrepreneurial intention has been merely found. The study has chosen Bangladeshi university students as the unit of analysis and the ultimate sample size in this research is n=265. The current paper is a quantitative study where sampling method is followed by convenience sampling technique, and study data is collected through survey questionnaire. Data has been compiled into SPSS whereas, for hypotheses assessment, Smart PLS software is applied. The results reflect that self-confidence, locus of control, and need for achievement are revealed as contributory determinants of entrepreneurial intention while tolerance for ambiguity is found as an insignificant predictor. The current research is expected to offer an in-depth understanding about the significance of psychological factors in examining entrepreneurial intention.

  • A practical single photon source for fiber-based quantum information processing is still lacking. As a possible 1.55-㎛ quantum-dot single photon source, an InGaAsP/InP-air-aperture micropillar cavity is investigated in terms of fabrication tolerance. By properly modeling the processing uncertainty in layer thickness, layer diameter, surface roughness and the cavity shape distortion, the fabrication imperfection effects on the cavity quality are simulated using a finite-difference time-domain method. It turns out that, the cavity quality is not significantly changing with the processing precision, indicating the robustness against the imperfection of the fabrication processing. Under thickness error of ±2 nm, diameter uncertainty of ±2%, surface roughness of ±2.5 nm, and sidewall inclination of 0.5°, which are all readily available in current material and device fabrication techniques, the cavity quality remains good enough to form highly efficient and coherent 1.55-㎛ single photon sources. It is thus implied that a quantum dot contained InGaAsP/InP-air-aperture micropillar cavity is prospectively a practical candidate for single photon sources applied in a fiber-based quantum information network.

  • This research proposes an Integrated Product Information Model (IPIM) using STEP (Standard for the Exchange of product model data) for Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) of Concurrent Engineering (CE). IPIM is based on Geometry and Topology (STEP Part 42), Form Feature (STEP Part 48), and Tolerance (STEP Part 48) for representing the integrated information of mechanical parts. For the IPIM, 1) new entities are developed for integration of existing entities, and 2) the existing entities are restructured and modified for a special application protocol. In CIM or CE, the advantages of using IPIM having integrated form of geometry, feature and tolerance are 1) integration of product design, process design and manufacturing sequentially or concurrently. 2) keep the product data consistency, modified by different domain, and 3) automatic data exchange between different application software and different hardware. The prototype system is composed of CAD, Data Probe, DBMS and SDAI (Standard Data Access Interface), and the generated STEP data is stored in a step file of DBMS for other applications.

  • To understand the responses of grapevines in response to cold stress causing the limited growth and development, differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened through transcriptome analysis of shoots from 2 grapevine cultivars ('Campbell Early' and 'Muscat Baily A') kept at -$2^{\circ}C$ for 4 days. In gene ontology analysis of DEGs from 'Campbell Early', there were 17,424 clones related with biological process, 28,954 with cellular component, and 6,972 with molecular function genes in response to freezing temperature. The major induced genes included dehydrin xero 1, K-box region and MADS-box transcription factor family protein, and MYB domain protein 36, and inhibited genes included light-harvesting chlorophyll B-binding protein 3, FASCICLIN-like arabinoogalactan 9, and pectin methylesterase 61 in 'Campbell Early' grapevines. In gene ontology analysis of DEGs from 'Muscat Baily A', there were 1,157 clones related with biological process, 1,350 with cellular component, and 431 with molecular function gene. The major induced genes of 'Muscat Baily A' included NB-ARC domain-containing disease resistance protein, fatty acid hydrozylase superfamily, and isopentenyltransferase 3, and inhibited genes included binding, IAP-like protein 1, and pentatricopeptide repeat superfamily protein. All major DEGs were shown to be expressed differentially by freezing temperature in real time-PCR analysis. Protein domain analysis using InterPro Scan revealed that ubiquitin-protein ligase was redundant in both tested grapevines. Transcriptome profile of shoots exposed to cold can provide new insights into the molecular basis of tolerance to low-temperature in grapevines, and can be used as resources for development new grapevines tolerant to coldness.

  • The carborne Automatic Train Control(ATC) system keeps automatically optimum train speed code signals from wayside(track) circuit equipment. If there is no response for braking against the over speed detected, the driver will be noticed instantly by visual and audible warning signals. And then the ATC processes into braking mode for safe train operations to prevent any hazards by over speed limit. In this paper we are introduced the novel ATC system which has triple constructed structure made by 32 bit floating point DSP(ADSP21020-20) and process dealed with frequency domain and time domain for detecting signals. Owing to these reason it is no needed several band pass filters used in conventional ATC systems to detect the speed limit frequency. Also system's reliability and tolerance are incremented by adopt to 2 out of 3 logic to the outputs decision.

  • This paper presents behavioral models using SIMULINK and Verilog-a for a PLL based fractional-N frequency synthesizer. The SIMULINK modeling was built in the frequency-time mixed domain whereas the Verilog-a modeling was built purely in the time domain. The simulated results of the two models were verified to show the same performance within the error tolerance. This top-down design method can provide the readiness for the transistor-level design.

  • The size of the superconducting domains and the critical current density inside these domains have to be enhanced for most of cryomagnetic applications of melt-textured YBCO bulks. To enlarge the size of the domains we studied the multi-seeding technique based on a well-established procedure for preparing high quality YBCO monoliths using self-made SmBCO seeds. The distance between the seeds was optimised as a result of the investigation of the effects of various seed distances on the characteristics of the grain boundary Junctions. The influences of a-b plane intersections and c-axis misalignments were researched. Thereby, a small range of tolerance of the misorientations between the seed crystals was found. Field mapping was applied to control the materials quality and the superconductor's grain structure was investigated using polarisation microscopy. YBCO function elements with iou. seeds in a line and an arrangement of making type (100)/(100) and (110)/(110) boundary junctions, respectively, were processed. The trapped field profile in both sample types shows single domain behaviour. To demonstrate the potential of the multi-seeding method a ring-shaped sample was processed by placing sixteen seeds in a way to make both (100)/(100) and (110)/(110) grain junctions at the same time. The results up to now are very promising to prepare large single domain melt-textured YBCO semi-finished products in complex shapes.

  • Filterbank multicarrier with offset quadrature amplitude modulation (FBMC-OQAM) is an attractive alternative to the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation technique. In comparison with OFDM, the FBMC-OQAM signal has better spectral confinement and higher spectral efficiency and tolerance to synchronization errors, primarily due to per-subcarrier filtering using a frequency-time localized prototype filter. However, the filtering process introduces intrinsic interference among the symbols and complicates channel estimation (CE). An efficient way to improve the CE in FBMC-OQAM is using a technique known as windowed frequency domain averaging (FDA); however, it requires a priori knowledge of the window length parameter which is set based on the channel's frequency selectivity (FS). As the channel's FS is not fixed and not a priori known, we propose a k-nearest neighbor-based machine learning algorithm to classify the FS and decide on the FDA's window length. A comparative theoretical analysis of the mean-squared error (MSE) is performed to prove the proposed CE scheme's effectiveness, validated through extensive simulations. The adaptive CE scheme is shown to yield a reduction in CE-MSE and improved bit error rates compared with the popular preamble-based CE schemes for FBMC-OQAM, without a priori knowledge of channel's frequency selectivity.

  • Papers on improvement of electromagnetic field uniformity in a reverberation chamber with 1D Quadratic Residue Diffuser of Schroeder method has been published several times. In this paper, to obtain improved electromagnetic field characteristics and field uniformity in a reverberation chamber, cubical residue diffuser sets of Schroeder type are designed for a chamber in $2.3\;\cal{GHz}\~3\;\cal{GHz}$. The FDTD(Finite-Difference Time-Domain) technique is used to analyze the field characteristics in a chamber. Cubical residue algorithm and 2D arrangement show more randomness than the previous study results. The characteristics of tolerance, polarity, deviations, as well as power efficency, are improved with cubical residue diffuser sets in a chamber.
