Implementation of Communication to Flexibly Configure the Number of Railway Cars (철도차량 수를 유연하게 구성할 수 있는 통신시스템 구현)

  • This paper presents the implementation for a network structure of railway cars using a point to point communication. Most of network's representative specifications for a train are the FIP (Field Bus), MVB (Multifunction Vehicle Bus), CAN and WTB (Wire Train Bus) which is used by ALSOM, SIEMENS and BOMBADIER as major in this field. These networks in a physical layer use a multi-drop method, connected from $1^{st}$ car to $n^{th}$ car of a train through a cable without any extra services such as an electric part, amplifier. However waveforms which is passed through a long cable in the multi-drop are distorted by a capacitance or resistance of the cable or environments. Also since using a cable connected directly from $1^{st}$ car to $n^{th}$ car, if over two trains make double head, it isn't easy to distinguish ID for each railway cars. So by using the point to point network per each car, it is able to reduce a distortion. Also since reducing distortion, this communication speed can be been higher and transmit and receive any packets more stably. Using proposed token in a packet, this can make ID per each railway car automatically. Finally experimental results show the good performance and effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This paper focuses on development and implementation of a performance management algorithm for IEEE802.4 token bus networks to serve large-sale integrated systems. The delivery of time critical messages within delay constraints is an important criterion in the design and management of computer communication networks. In order to achieve this goal, the theory of fuzzy sets has been employed to imitate human's reasoning. The Fuzzy Network Performance Manager(FNPM) is composed of two parts: FNPM1 & FNPM2. FNPM1 is solily intended to satisfy the data latencyfor the highest priority while the other part is trying to satisfy those for the lower priorities. The FNPM requires average data latency, throughput, and token circulation time for its inputs. The efficacy of the FNPM has been evaluated by a series of simulation experiments.

  • Token ring systems which control to switch the data stream of networks by passing the token have been widely used to medium access controls in many ring or bus topology LANs. The system could be modeled for analysis as single-server-multi-queue system of the cyclic service method. These concepts could be expanded to multi-token ring systems interconnected with single ring consisting of bridges implemented simply to be stored and transmitted. In the proposal for the performance analysis of the interconnected token ring system, in has been assumed M/G/1 queueing model that frame arrivals are the Poisson process at each station queue and frame sizes are independently and identically distributed. And the average time delays were analyzed mathematically for arbitrary frame transferred from source station to destination area. The time delay of the frame transmission could be explained as the sum of the average time which the token passed from arbitrary position to source station, such as the waiting time in the source station transferring the previous arrival frames, and the propagation time from source station to interdestinated point. These delays were given as the sum of the duration from inner and outer bridge queues, the time delays from inner and outer bridge queues, and the time from outer bridge queue to destination station. These results were investigated by varing parameters effected to total time delays. In the results, those factors to be effected to dominant the total time delays were increased were in the cases of the high arrival rates and the high ration of destination of the other outerring. The system were shown the time delays increased exponentially in spite of the priority service policy. In order to decreasing the number of outerrings and increasing the number of nodes in backbone relatively, so the systems could be decreased the total delay in the interconnected token ring system.

  • In this paper, the Mini-MAP network interface units are implemented for the IBM PC, general purpose, PLC, and robot respectively. The token bus controller, MC68824 is used to realize the IEEE 802.4. A protocol for the message exchanges between some automated devices called MMS is implemented where 76 services of total 86 MMS services are included.

  • Real-time communication network is important for KTX high speed train system because small problem can make a huge accident. Communication network for KTX high speed train system consists of IEEE 802.4 token bus network and FM0 encoding. The network device is developed by using MC68824 TBC, MC68185 TPM and MC68020 MPU. The network device make available to analysis of the network protocol among vehicles for Kyung-Boo high-speed train system.

  • In this paper, a new high-speed local area network using a dual mode switching access (DMSA) protocol implemented on a dual unidirectional bus is described. By utilizing the implicit positionalordering of stations on a unidirectional bus, the proposed system switches between random access mode and the token access model withoug unnecessary delay. Therefore, unlike other hybrid systems such as Buzz-net and Z-net, DMSA does not show a rapid degradation in performance as the load increases. We obtain the average channel utilization and the average access delay by using a simplified analytic model. The numerical results obtained via analysis are compared to the simulation resuls for a partial validation of the approximate model. The performance characteristics of DMSA are superior delay-throughput characteristics at light and medium loads, compared to compared to other LAN systems, and the capability of providing a single active station with full capabity of the channel.

  • In this paper we consider a local area network (LAN) of dual mode service where one is a token bus and the other is a carrier sense multiple access with a collision detection (CSMA/CD) bus. The objective of the paper is to find the overall cell/packet dropping probability of a dual mode LAN for finite length queue M/G/1(m) traffic. Here, the offered traffic of the LAN is taken to be the equivalent carried traffic of a one-millisecond delay. The concept of a tabular solution for two-dimensional Poisson's traffic of circuit switching is adapted here to find the cell dropping probability of the dual mode packet service. Although the work is done for the traffic of similar bandwidth, it can be extended for the case of a dissimilar bandwidth of a circuit switched network.

  • Fieldbus system should be designed by considering the number of sensors/actors(actuators+ controllers) and their sampling times. But the number of sensors/actors and which are connected to the network bus can be varied by addition and/or fault of the field devices. That variation decreases the efficiency of system which is off-line designed optimally. This paper proposes an algorithm that ensures transmission of cyclic data even though there is the number change in the field devices. We assign the different weight values to cyclic data and acyclic data. By simulation and experiment, the cyclic and acyclic data are processed via the proposed network, and the results are compared with those of the Profibus system. It is shown that the proposed algorithm is more robust with the uncertainties of the field devices of the control system.

실시간 분산제어시스템의 상호연결망을 위한 가상토큰 이중버스

  • 이동통신 시스템에서 고속 데이터, 그래픽, 동화상 등과 같은 이동 멀티미디어 서비스를 추가로 제공하기 위해서는 기존의 음성 및 데이터 뿐만 아니라 화상, 영상 데이터를 고속으로 교환할수 있도록 시스템 내부 프로세서간 메시지 교환을 위한 CDMA 상호연결 통신망에 대한 성능 향상이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 CDMA 상호연결망의 성능 향상을 위한 가상 토큰 이중버스(VTDB:Virtual Token Dual Bus)의 구조 및 매체접근제어 프로토콜을 제안하고 성능을 평가하였다. 제안하는 VTDB 프로토콜에서는 공유버스에 대한 매체접근 제어시 가상 토큰에 의한 예약 기능을 사용하여 전송할 메시지를 가진 노드간 가상토큰 전달시간(스위치오버 시간)을 줄여 버스의 성능을 향상시키며, 또한 각 노드를 독립된 두 개의 버스에 동시에 연결하여 메시지 전송시 두 버스를 함께 사용하게 함으로써 통신망의 성능 및 신뢰성을 개선한다. 해석적 방법을 이용한 성능 분석을 통하여 본 논문에서 제안한 VTDB 프로토콜의 성능이, 기존의 단일버스 구조를 갖는 가상토큰 전달방식의 매체접근 제어 프로토콜과 비교하여 우수함을 확인할수 있었다.
