Derivation of Illumination Compensation Information for SKIP Modes in Multi-view Video Coding (다시점 비디오 부호화에서 스킵 모드의 휘도 보상 정보 유도 방법)

  • This paper introduces a derivation method of both P-SKIP and B-SKIP modes for illumination compensation in the multi-view video coding scheme. In this proposed method, mismatches between IC flag and IC offset in P-SKIP mode are removed, and also computational complexity is far reduced in B-SKIP mode in comparison to a multi-view video coding scheme. In simulation results, proposed method has the almost same coding efficiency in comparison with the referenced coding scheme. However computational complexity in 11m-time decoding process is tremendously reduced, such that the average number of blocks that should be processed in P-SKIP mode is saved in about 7.47%, and the average number of operations per block in B-SKIP mode is saved in about 50.36% and corresponding average decoding time per block is also saved in 46%.

  • 일반적으로 고출력 반도체 레이저 다이오드는 발진 파장 및 광출력에 따라 다양한 분야에 응용되고 있으며, 특히 발진파장이 808 nm 대역인 고출력 레이저 다이오드의 경우 재료가공, 펌핌용 광원, 의료 분야 등 다양한 응용분야를 가진 광원 중의 하나라고 할 수 있다. 808 nm 대역의 레이저 다이오드 제작에는 현재 InGaAsP/InGaP/GaAs 및 InGaAlAs/GaAs 양자우물을 이용하여 제작되고 있으나 양자우물과 이를 둘러싸는 장벽물질간의 band-offset이 적어 효율적인 고출력 레이저 다이오드의 제작에 다소 어려움이 있기 때문에 강한 캐리어 구속 효과를 지니는 양자점 혹은 양자대쉬 구조를 사용하는 것이 고출력 레이저 다이오드를 제작할 수 있는 한 방법이다. 실험에 사용된 InP/InGaP 양자구조는 Riber사의 compact21 MBE 장치를 사용하여 성장하였으며 GaAs기판을 620-630도에서 가열하여 표면의 산화층을 제거하고 580도에서 약 100 nm 두께의 GaAs 버퍼층 및 50 nm 두께의 InGaP층을 성장하였다. 양자 구조는 MEE (migration enhanced epitaxy) 방식으로 성장되었는데, 이는 InP/InGaP 의 lattice mismatch율이 작아 양자 구조 형성이 어렵기 때문에 InP/InGaP 양자 구조 성장에 적합하다고 생각하였으며, Indium 2초, growth interuption time 10초, phosphorous 2초 그리고 growth interuption time 10초를 하나의 시퀀스로 보고, 그 시퀀스를 반복하여 양자 구조를 성장하였다. 본 실험에 사용된 P 소스는 Riber사의 KPC-250 P-valved cracker모델을 사용하였으며 InP의 성장률은 0.985${\AA}/s$이다. InP/InGaP 양자구조 성장 중에, 성장 온도, 시퀀스 수의 변화 등 다양한 조건을 변화 시켜 샘플을 성장시켰고, 양자 구조 성장을 확인하기 위하여 AFM 및 SEM을 통해 구조적 분석을 하였으며 PL 측정을 통해 광학적 분석을 진행하였다.

Cost-Effectiveness of Denosumab for Post-Menopausal Osteoporosis in South Korea (폐경기 골다공증 환자에서 데노수맙 사용에 대한 비용-효과 분석)

  • Background: In South Korea, 22.3% of women ${\geq}50years$ of age and 37% of women ${\geq}70years$ of age visit the doctor to obtain treatment for osteoporosis. According to the analysis of the National Health Insurance Services claim data between 2008 and 2012, the number and incidence of hip and vertebral fractures increased during the same period. Denosumab, a newly marketed medicine in Korea, is the first RANK inhibitor. Methods: A cost-utility analysis was conducted from a societal perspective to prove the superiority of denosumab to alendronate. A Markov cohort model was used to investigate the cost-effectiveness of denosumab. A 6-month cycle length was used in the model, and all patients were individually followed up through the model, from their age at treatment initiation to their time of death or until 100 years of age. The model consisted of eight health states: well; hip fracture; vertebral fracture; wrist fracture; other osteoporotic fracture; post-hip fracture; post-vertebral fracture; and dead. All patients began in the well-health state. In this model, 5% discounted rate, two-year maximum offset time, and persistence were adopted. Results: The total lifetime costs for alendronate and denosumab were USD 5,587 and USD 6,534, respectively. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) for denosumab versus alendronate was USD 20,600/QALY. Given the ICER threshold in Korea, the results indicated that denosumab was remarkably superior to alendronate. Conclusion: Denosumab is a cost-effective alternative to the oral anti-osteoporotic treatment, alendronate, in South Korea.

An Enhanced Iterative ICI Cancellation Method for Cooperative STBC-OFDM Systems (상호 협력 STBC-OFDM 시스템을 위한 개선된 반복적 ICI 제거 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an enhanced iterative ICI (Inter Carrier Interference) cancellation method for cooperative STBC-OFDM (Space Time Block Coded-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system. In cooperative STBC-OFDM system, ICI cancellation is necessary because ICI due to the independent local oscillators always exits. The conventional iterative ICI cancellation method has severe performance degradation due to the initial estimation error. Also the performance degradation increases as CFOs (Carrier Frequency Offsets) and modulation order increases. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an enhanced iterative ICI cancellation method which can reduce the initial estimation error by giving a priority to initial estimation and cancellation process. Through the complexity and performance comparisons, we verwey that the proposed method has better performance with approximately same complexity compared with the conventional method.

  • In this paper, a zero torque control scheme adopting current sharing function (CSF) used in integrated Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drive with DC battery charger is proposed. The proposed control scheme is able to achieve the keeping position (KP), zero torque (ZT) and power factor correction (PFC) at the same time with a simple novel current sharing function algorithm. The proposed CSF makes the proper reference for each phase windings of SRM to satisfy the total charging current of the battery with zero torque output to hold still position with power factor correction, and the copper loss minimization during of battery charging is also achieved during this process. Based on these, CSFs can be used without any recalculation of the optimal current at every sampling time. In this proposed integrated battery charger system, the cost effective, volume and weight reduction and power enlargement is realized by function multiplexing of the motor winding and asymmetric SR converter. By using the phase winding as large inductors for charging process, and taking the asymmetric SR converter as an interleaved converter with boost mode operation, the EV can be charged effectively and successfully with minimum integral system. In this integral system, there is a position sliding mode controller used to overcome any uncertainty such as mutual inductance or DC offset current sensor. Power factor correction and voltage adaption are obtained with three-phase buck type converter (or current source rectifier) that is cascaded with conventional SRM, one for wide input and output voltage range. The practicability is validated by the simulation and experimental results by using a laboratory 3-hp SRM setup based on TI TMS320F28335 platform.

Reactive Power Control of Single-Phase Reactive Power Compensator for Distribution Line (배전선로용 단상 무효전력 보상기의 무효전력제어)

  • In this study, a novel reactive power control scheme is proposed to supply stable reactive power to the distribution line by compensating a ripple voltage of DC link. In a single-phase system, a magnitude of second harmonic is inevitably generated in the DC link voltage, and this phenomenon is further increased when the capacity of DC link capacitor decreases. Reactive power control was performed by controlling the d-axis current in the virtual synchronous reference frame, and the voltage control for maintaining the DC link voltage was implemented through the q-axis current control. The proposed method for compensating the ripple voltage was classified into three parts, which consist of the extraction unit of DC link voltage, high pass filter (HPF), and time delay unit. HPF removes an offset component of DC link voltage extracted from integral, and a time delay unit compensates the phase leading effect due to the HPF. The compensated DC voltage is used as feedback component of voltage control loop to supply stable reactive power. The performance of the proposed algorithm was verified through simulation and experiments. At DC link capacitance of 375 uF, the magnitude of ripple voltage decreased to 8 Vpp from 74 Vpp in the voltage control loop, and the total harmonic distortion of the current was improved.

  • An arterial street control is performed for the purpose of the progression of a traffic flow using the arterial. However during the progression in the arterial, the change according to the time is one of the most representative problems occurring at a signal plan. This paper intends to efficiently operate the arterial progression by applying fuzzy logic, which is thought to be the most possible one in the inference as that of the human logic, to the traffic responsive control system. Fuzzy Logic controller is appliable to the daily human language (linguistic). can be dealt with the uncertain traffic data and is useful on planning the signal control to sensitively confront the randomly changing traffic condition. This study, based on the signal control part of the isolated intersection in "A Development of a Real-time, Traffic Adaptive Control Scheme Through VIDs"(Seong Ho. Kim. 1996). suggested the strategy for the progression control in the arterial and analyzed its effect by comparing the effect of the existing control method. In addition, the study compared each effect by using TRAF-NETSIM which is the traffic simulation software to analyze each control method.

Grid-Based Set Point Generation Strategy for Position Control of Dynamic Positioning Assisted Mooring System (DP보조계류시스템의 위치제어를 위한 격자 기반의 제어목표점 선정 전략)

  • Unlike typical a dynamic positioning (DP) system, a DP-assisted mooring system must determine a set point (SP) that can ensure a mooring tension safety range to prevent an excessive increase in mooring tension. In this paper, a new algorithm for determining the SP is suggested in order to reduce the tension on all the mooring lines. To determine the SP, a working area around the vessel is represented by a rectangular grid. Thus, the size of the grid area is limited considering the offset of a vessel with a mooring system. At each grid's nodes, the resultant tension from all the mooring lines is estimated using the time history of the tension and vessel's position. The results of static analyses for each grid position are used to estimate the global tension. Consequently, the SP is automatically selected as a position satisfying criterion for minimizing the total tension. In order to validate the suggested algorithm, a motion simulation with the control system in the time domain and a discussion of the results are presented.

Timing Verification of AUTOSAR-compliant Diesel Engine Management System Using Measurement-based Worst-case Execution Time Analysis (측정기반 최악실행시간 분석 기법을 이용한 AUTOSAR 호환 승용디젤엔진제어기의 실시간 성능 검증에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we presented a timing verification method for a passenger car diesel engine management system (EMS) using measurement-based worst-case execution time (WCET) analysis. In order to cope with AUTOSAR-compliant software architecture, a development process model is proposed. In the process model, a runnable is regarded as a test unit and its temporal behavior (i.e. maximum observed execution time, MOET) is obtained along with on-target functionality evaluation results during online unit test. Furthermore, a cost-effective framework for online unit test is proposed. Because the runtime environment layer and the standard calibration environment are utilized to implement test interface, additional resource consumption of the target processor is minimized. Using the proposed development process model and unit test framework, the MOETs of 86 runnables for diesel EMS are obtained with 213 unit test cases. Using the obtained MOETs of runnables, the WCETs of tasks are estimated and the schedulability is evaluated. From the schedulability analysis results, the problems of the initially designed schedule table is recognized and it is fixed by redesigning of the runnable mapping and task offset. Through the various test scenarios, the proposed method is validated.

Rheological Evaluation of Blast Furnace Slag Cement Paster over Setting Time (고로슬래그 혼합 시멘트 페이스트의 응결시간 경과에 따른 레올로지 특성)

  • Even though high performance concrete was developed according to the trend of bigger and higher of reinforced concrete building, the rheological evaluations such as viscosity, yield stress are not enough to use as input data to accomplish the numerical analysis for the construction design. So there are many problems in the harden concrete such as poor compaction, rock pocket and crack, etc. in the field. In this study, consistency curves were measured by the viscometer as hydration reaction time passed. At the same time the slump flow test and Vicat setting test were carried out for comparing with the results of rheological properties. The fluidity of the W/B 30% decreased as the increase of replacement ratio of blast furnace slag. But in case of W/B 40%, the replacement ration did not significantly influenced to the slump flow value with the passage of hydration time. By the replacement of blast furnace slag to cement, initial setting was delayed and the time gap between initial and final setting became shorten. Through the regression analysis using Bingham model, there are a sudden changes of viscosity and yield stress around initial setting in case of low W/B 30%. The increase of workability by the change of free water in cement paste was offset by the coating effect of impermeable layer in case of W/B 40%.
