This paper proposes the Selected Harmonic Elimination Pluse Width Modulation (SHE PW) scheme toreduce the ahrmonic components of source line current. To eliminate the low order harmonics which affects the source dominatly, we apply the Fourier series analysis to line current waveforms and then find out the switching patterns using the SHE PWM scheme. In addition to the analysis of harmonic effects, the three phase filter circuit is used to reduce high order harmonics. For the experimental realization, the converter circuit with power Transistor(PTR) is designed and the Pulse Time Control(PTC) is applied. The line current and the load voltage are measured under the condition of three phase application, highly inductive load.
Harmonic current mitigation is vital in power distribution networks owing to the inflow of nonlinear loads, distributed generation, and renewable energy sources. The active power filter (APF) is the current electrical equipment that can dynamically compensate for harmonic distortion and eliminate asymmetrical loads. The compensation performance of an APF largely depends on the control strategy applied to the voltage source inverter (VSI). Model predictive control (MPC) has been demonstrated to be one of the effective control approaches to providing fast dynamic responses. This approach covers different types of power converters due to its several advantages, such as flexible control scheme and simple inclusion of nonlinearities and constraints within the controller design. In this study, a finite control set-MPC technique is proposed for the control of VSIs. Unlike conventional control methods, the proposed technique uses a discrete time model of the shunt APF to predict the future behavior of harmonic currents and determine the cost function so as to optimize current errors through the selection of appropriate switching states. The viability of this strategy in terms of harmonic mitigation is verified in MATLAB/Simulink. Experimental results show that MPC performs well in terms of reduced total harmonic distortion and is effective in APFs.
In order to analyze the periodic unsteady flow problem efficiently the partially implicit harmonic balance (PIHB) method was developed. Contrary to the existing harmonic balance method, this method handles the harmonic source term explicitly and deals with flux terms implicitly. This method has a good convergence in comparison with the full explicit harmonic method and it is easy to apply this method because there is no need to calculate the complicated flux Jacobian term by comparing with the full implicit harmonic method. With the multigrid method about the each harmonic it turns out that this method has a good convergence regardless of the number of harmonics. The oscillating flows over NACA0012 airfoil is considered to verify this method then the result correponsed to both the result of dual time stepping and explicit Runge-Kutta method.

In this paper, an incoherent imaging of a conducting cylinder illuminated by the single-frequency time-harmonic plane wave is obtained via the back-projections of the intensity patterns of the forward total electric field scattered from this object in the circular rotational measurement configuration. The pheonmenon that interference fringes generated in the itesity patterns is removed in the back-projection process is interpreted numerically. This imaging method is validated by imagining conducting circular cylinders and the conditions to ge beter image are investigated.
High-power three-level voltage-source converters are widely utilized in high-performance AC drive systems. In several ultra-power instances, the harmonics on the grid side should be reduced through multiple rectifications. A combined harmonic elimination method that includes a dual primary-side series-connected winding transformer and selective harmonic elimination pulse-width modulation is proposed to eliminate low-order current harmonics on the primary and secondary sides of transformers. Through an analysis of the harmonic influence caused by dead time and DC magnetic bias, a synthetic compensation control strategy is presented to minimize the grid-side harmonics in the dual primary side series-connected winding transformer application. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control strategy can significantly reduce the converter input current harmonics and eliminates the DC magnetic bias in the transformer.

This paper presents an experimental study on the detection and location of nonlinear scattering source due to the presence of fatigue crack in a laboratory specimen. The proposed technique is based on a combination of nonlinear elastic wave spectroscopy(NEWS) and time reversal(TR) focusing approach. In order to focus on the nonlinear scattering position due to the fatigue crack, we employed only one transmitting transducer and one receiving transducer, taking advantage of long duration of reception signal that includes multiple linear scattering such as mode conversion and boundary reflections. NEWS technique was then used as a pre-treatment of TR for spatial focusing of reemitted second harmonic signal. The robustness of this approach was demonstrated on a cracked specimen and the nonlinear TR focusing behavior is observed on the crack interface from which the second harmonic signal was originated.
The time harmonics of an inverter output voltage cause high frequency currents in the rotor bars of a squirrel cage induction motor, so that the harmonic copper loss density increases in the upper lesion of the bars. Such an higher loss density makes an nonuniform thermal source and deforms the bars due to the thermal stress. Therefore, in this paper, the copper loss distribution in the rotor bar of an inverter-fed induction motor, which is the source of the thermal stress, is analyzed by the time-stepping finite element method. As a result, the harmonic copper losses of 11 subregions in a bar are calculated and compared with those of sinusoidally fed induction motor.
In this letter, we present a new algorithm for the harmonic and percussive separation of jazz music. Using a short-time Fourier transform and nonnegative matrix factorization, the signal is decomposed into rank components. Each component is then split into harmonic and percussive parts using masks calculated based on their tonalities. Finally, the harmonic and percussive parts are separated after applying the masks and a summation. We evaluate the algorithm based on real audio examples using both objective and subjective assessments. The proposed algorithm performs well for the separation of harmonic and percussive parts of jazz excerpts.

Increasing of the nonlinear type power electronics equipment, power conditioning systems (PCS) have been researched and developed for many years in order to compensate for harmonic disturbances and reactive power. PCS's not only improve harmonic current and power factor in the ac grid line but also achieves energy saving used by the renewable energy source (RES). In this paper, the implementation of a current controlled voltage source inverter (CCVSI) using RES for PCS is presented. The basic principle and control algorithm is theoretically analyzed and the design methodology of the system is discussed. The proposed system could achieve power quality control (PQC) to reduce harmonic current and improve power factor, and demand side management (DSM) to supply active power simultaneously, which are both operated by the polarized ramp time (PRT) current control algorithm and the grid-interactive current control algorithm. A 1KVA test model of the CCVSI has been built using IGBT controlled by a digital signal processor (DSP). To verify the proposed system, a comprehensive evaluation with theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental results is presented.
In this paper, a thermal analysis of a high speed induction motor with a PWM voltage source was performed by considering harmonic loss components. The electromagnetic analysis of the high speed induction motor was conducted using the time-varying finite element method, and its thermal characteristics were carried out using the lump-circuit method. Harmonic losses from tests in the high frequency region were divided into core loss and conductor loss components using various ratios, in order to determine the loss distributions for the thermal analysis. The results from both the calculations and experiment were validated using a high speed induction motor prototype operating at 20,000rpm.
