  • To Establish of standard technique of length measurent in 2D plane, we develope AFM system. The XY scanner scans the sample only in XY plane, while the Z scanner scans the specimen only in Z-direction. Cantilever tip is controlled to has constant height relative to speciman surface by feedback of PSPD signal. To acquire high accuracy, Z-axis measuring sensor will be added.(COXI or others). In this paper we design XYZ stage suitable for this AEM system. For XY stage, single module parallel-kinnematic flexure stage is used which has high orthogonality and minimum out-of-plane motion. To obtain best performance optimal design is performed. For XY stage, to be robust about parasitic motion optimal design of maximizing Z and tilt stiffness is performed under the constraint of motion range and stage size. And for Z stage, optimal design of maximizing 1st resonant frequency is performed. Because if resonant frequency is get higher, scan speed is improved. So it makes reduce the error by sensor drift. Resultly XYZ stage each have 1st natural frequency of 115㎐, 201㎐, 2.66㎑ and range 109㎛, 110㎛, 12㎛.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of three different pelvic tilts on sit-to-stand ativities and to suggest a new therapeutic approach for movement reeducation in patients who have difficulty with sit-to-stand activities. The three different pelvic tilts were: (1) comfortable pelvic tilt sit-to-stand (CPT STS), (2) posterior pelvic tilt sit-to-stand (PPT STS) and (3) anterior pelvic tilt sit-to-stand (APT STS). To analyze the kinematic component of STS, a motion analysis system (Zebris) was applied to the ankle, knee, hip joint, and thigh-off area. Also, to determine the onset time of muscle contraction, surface electrodes were placed to the rectus femoris muscle (RF), the vastus lateralis muscle (VL), the biceps femoris muscle (BF), the tibialis anterior muscle (TA), the gastrocnemius muscle (GCM), and the soleus muscle (SOL). One-way repeated ANOVA was used for the statistical analysis. First, significant differences were found in kinematic variables for the hip, knee, ankle joint, and thigh-off among the three activities. Second, there was significant difference in muscle activation pattern in TA. VL. and BF among three activities. In conclusion, the findings of this study suggest the following evaluative and therapeutic approach for STS activity: (1) Changes in knee and ankle joints should be prioritized and recruitment order differences in VL and RF can be generated to accomplish abnormal STS activity. (2) APT STS can be introduced for movement efficiency and functional advantage when abnormal STS is treated.

  • Closed kinematic chain exercises such as squatting have been widely indicated for knee rehabilitation in patients with patellofemoral disorders such as osteoarthritis and patellofemoral pain. Patellofemoral disorders are thought to be associated with abnormal patellar kinematics. In addition, the Q-angle may be undervalued in patients with patellofemoral pain and a laterally displaced patella. The purpose of this study was to assess patellar kinematics and the Q-angle during double-leg semi-squat and wall-slide semi-squat exercises. In this study, 28 asymptomatic subjects(16 male, 12 female) were assessed. Patellar tilt, patellar spin, and Q-angle were recorded using a motion analysis system during double-leg semi-squat and wall-slide semi-squat exercises. The Q-angle and patellar tilt were significantly increased, whereas patellar spin was significantly decreased, at $45^{\circ}$ of knee flexion compared with $0^{\circ}$. No differences were observed for the Q-angle, patellar tilt, and patellar spin during double-leg semi-squat and wall-slide semi-squat exercises. However, a significant interaction was observed between squat type and knee angle for patellar spin. We found that the patella is laterally tilted during semi-squat exercises and that there was no difference in patellar tracking between knee flexion during double-leg semi-squat and wall-slide semi-squat exercises.

  • In this study, theoretical super screen vibration analysis has been carried out to predict the dynamic characteristics of interactive waste particles. In order to approach these problems, it is necessary to have a fundamental understanding the screening process and the process of both the remaining and the passed material on a screen with several interacting screen planes based on Soldinger(1999) was discussed. Here, the vibrating screen is composed of three assemblies such as screen, wastes guide, and supported screen as shown in Fig. 1. This model is regarded vibrator as the system of screen fixed tilt plates. Then materials(or particles) of different size is to be separated by using the eccentric vibrator and classifying tilt plates. As well moisturized construction wastes is more efficient to separate than moisture-less it. In processing separate mechanism, the more materials is light, the more staying time is long. Thus much lighter construction wastes(wood, Styrofoam, etc) and heavier materials are separated by staying time delay in a super screen. The design results, separation screen were able to know that small and larger particles are conspicuous difference each motion character according to trajectory particles, and small particles raise the probability in classifying tilt plates.

  • Objective : Although minimally invasive posterior cervical foraminotomy (MI-PCF) is an established approach for motion preservation, the outcomes are variable among patients. The objective of this study was to identify significant factors that influence motion preservation after MI-PCF. Methods : Forty-eight patients who had undergone MI-PCF between 2004 and 2012 on a total of 70 levels were studied. Cervical parameters measured using plain radiography included C2-7 plumb line, C2-7 Cobb angle, T1 slope, thoracic outlet angle, neck tilt, and disc height before and 24 months after surgery. The ratios of the remaining facet joints after MI-PCF were calculated postoperatively using computed tomography. Changes in the distance between interspinous processes (DISP) and the segmental angle (SA) before and after surgery were also measured. We determined successful motion preservation with changes in DISP of ${\leq}3mm$ and in SA of ${\leq}2^{\circ}$. Results : The differences in preoperative and postoperative DISP and SA after MI-PCF were $0.03{\pm}3.95mm$ and $0.34{\pm}4.46^{\circ}$, respectively, fulfilling the criteria for successful motion preservation. However, the appropriate level of motion preservation is achieved in cases in which changes in preoperative and postoperative DISP and SA motions are 55.7 and 57.1%, respectively. Based on preoperative and postoperative DISP, patients were divided into three groups, and the characteristics of each group were compared. Among these, the only statistically significant factor in motion preservation was preoperative disc height (Pearson's correlation coefficient=0.658, p<0.001). The optimal disc height for motion preservation in regard to DISP ranges from 4.18 to 7.08 mm. Conclusion : MI-PCF is a widely accepted approach for motion preservation, although desirable radiographic outcomes were only achieved in approximately half of the patients who had undergone the procedure. Since disc height appears to be a significant factor in motion preservation, surgeons should consider disc height before performing MI-PCF.

  • Background: The objective of this study was to compare dysmenorrhea with pelvic alignment, hip joint range of motion about 20's female university students. Sixty two female students participated in this study. To investigate the measure of dysmenorrhea, we used modified menstrual distress questionnaire (MMDQ) and numerric rating scale (NRS). The pelvic alignment was assessed by using the palpation meter. The active range of motion (ROM) were assessed by measuring the flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, internal rotation and external rotation. Each measurement was assessed by goniometer. The data were analyzed by calculating independent T-test. Consequently, As the increase of dysmenorrhea, we observed significantly the increase of pelvic anterior tilt in right and left pelvic (p<.05). Otherwise, as the increase of dysmenorrhea, range of motion of hip joint was significantly limited in right and left external rotation (p<.05). Thus, this study provides young female with valuable information about dysmenorrhea.
