The purposes of this study are to find out the current status and features of earth housing, and to explore users' level of satisfaction and needs of improvement about earth housing. Primary findings are as follows: (1) The area of earth housing is generally 25-34 pyong and the construction cost of earth housing is usually 3,000,000-3,400,000 won per pyong. (2) The age of earth house users is generally forties, fifties, and sixties. And their occupation is usually retiree and farmer. The age of earth based pension users is generally twenties and thirties. (3) The construction method of earth housing is usually earth brick structure reinforced with wood structure and earth brick structure(adobe). (4) The finish of outer wall is generally earth brick laying and earth plaster. And the finish of inner wall is usually wall paper and earth plaster. Roof tile and asphalt shingle is frequently observed as roof finish. (5) Users' satisfaction about earth housing is investigated high level. Especially, the satisfaction degrees about faculty of humidity control, stink elimination, prevention from sick house syndrome, support for psychological stabilization and deep sleep are observed very highly. (6) Reduction of construction cost and prevention of crack is investigated as needs of improvement about earth housing.

This paper is to evaluate the informational direction, current situations and ERP establishment concerning constructing industry, to present the right directions, implemented cases for implementing constructional ERP, also to suggest the effect, influence, problems and shootings in constructional ERP arena. The constructing industries in korea are facing great turning point because of the huge corruptions currently happened and forcing to open the market in 1997. Attempting to establish Computer Integrated construction system (ERP) by breaking down constructing cost, improving quality, operating rapid and effective construction to enhance productivity, it is hard to achieve the goal with only inter-contractor's establishment. Constructing industries are integrated ones, consisted of many organizations for instance ordering agencies, contractors, subcontractors, material vendors, etc. and use various information formats such as texts, graphics, drawings. I dare suggest that implementation of constructional CALS including EDI/EC, GIS is tile only solution to control the information systematically generated in whole stages from planing, designing, constructing through maintenance, and to supply or switch the information.

The feasibility of water supply as in-stream flow for Mangwall stream was analyzed in terms of water quality and cultivation periphyton using two different types of water resources (e.g., surface water and bank filtration from Han River basin) and three different types of media (e.g., tile, concrete and pebble). The concentrations of organic and inorganic contaminants from the bank filtration were lower than those from surface water by 17.5 - 55.0%. Using water samples collected from Mangwall stream, surface water, and bank filtration, chlorophyll-a, phaeopigment, and growth rate of periphyton were investigated. During 30 day incubation for each water sample, it was observed that filamentous cyanobacteria, Oscillatoriaceae, accounted for 98%, and water velocity of 5 cm/s was optimum for the in situ filamentous cyanobacteria growth. Also, it was deducted for water velocity and chl-a to have an inverse correlation. Meanwhile, the greater the specific surface area of media, the higher the concentration of chl-a. From these results, both water velocity and specific surface area of media should be considered as an combined parameter to deter the growth of filamentous cyanobacteria.
The work breakdown structure and the precedence relations by work activity are very important because they are the basic data for estimating the construction duration in the construction work. However, there is no standard to accurately estimate the construction duration since the size of the school facilities construction is smaller than the general construction work. Therefore, some schools are unable to open in March or September and the delay of the construction duration can cause damage to the students. To solve this problem, this study developed a work breakdown structure of school facilities construction work and analyzed the precedence relations by work activities. The work breakdown structure of the school facilities construction is composed of three steps. The operations corresponding to level 1 and level 2 are as follows. (1) 2 preparatory work categories; preparation period and temporary construction. (2) 17 architectural work categories; temporary construction, foundation & pile work, reinforced concrete work, steel roof work, brick work, plaster work, tile work, stone work, waterproof construction, wood work, interior construction, floor work, metal work, roof work, windows construction, glazing work and paint construction. (3) 7 mechanic and fire work categories; outside trunk line work, plumbing work, air-conditioning equipment work, machine room work, city gas plumbing work, sanitation facilities and inspection & test working. (4) 4 civil work categories; wastewater work, drainage work, pavement work and other work. (5) 1 landscaping work categories; planting work. The work breakdown structure was derived from interviews with experts based on the milestones and detailed statements of existing school facilities. The analysis of precedence relations by school facilities work activity utilized PDM(Precedence Diagramming Method)which does not need a dummy and the relations were applied using FS(Finish to Start), FF(Finish to Finish), SS(Start to Start), SF(Start to Finish). The analysis of this study shows that if one work activity is delayed, the entire construction duration may be delayed because the majority of the works are FS relations. Therefore, it is necessary to use the Lag at the appropriate time to estimate the standard construction duration of the school facility construction. Lag is a term used only in the PDM method and it is used to define the relationship between the predecessor and the successor in creating the network milestone. And it means the delay time applied to the two work activities. The results of this study can reasonably estimate the standard construction duration of school facilities and it will contribute to the quality of the school facilities construction.

Defect problems happening in the course of stressing quantity expansion of residence supply due to lark in maintenance are intensifying insincerity of construction business resulting from the psychological and economic damage, and there are many quarrel between residence suppliers and consumers. Because an apartment house's qualify is decided by various elements from design, to lotting-out, construction, and after-management, it is limited to express house capacity and standard to appraise defect objectively and quantifiably. The bound of defect and the period of guarantee expressed cleary in regulation of apartment house lack in quantifiable concept, and guarantee of defect is composed of a general concept. Therefore the big difference in opinion about defect and the bound of repair makes repair process slow and only to increase social costs. This research will give residence suppliers and consumers a resonable way to solve repair process during tile obliged period of guarantee since moving into from a process which are design, planing, construction, and after management. Furthermore it will present each business and role to conclude defect repair easily, so I planed to promote maintenance after conclusion of defect repair.
Various Baekje ground-level building sites have been identified, in Pungnaptoseong Fortress, including Mirae Village's site E-1. However, building site E-1 is the only one with excavated roof tiles that are directly connected to the building site. As for building sites E-2, D-1, and D-2, which are comparable to site E-1, it is very possible that they had tiles on the roof based on their jeoksim (blocking facilities for roof slopes) and building structures. Also, although they are semi-underground pit structures, pit building sites A-30 and modern apartment site A-5, as well as the No.44 remains of Gyeongdang District, which is closer to a ground-level type, the buildings with tiles may have been constructed in the form of partial tile roofs rather than full-face tile roofs. Therefore, there may be several reasons behind the use of tiles on roofs in the early days, but the primary background of the building's authoritative function would have been considered first. Considering that China and Japan started using tiles on nationally important buildings such as palaces, temples, and ritual buildings, it may be presumed that Baekje began using tiles from the time it centralized power. It is believed that Baekje's early roof tile buildings evolved from rudimentary residential architecture to advanced public architecture, taking into consideration fire prevention and structural stability in large buildings. It is difficult to find similar cases in Korea with structural features such as the elevated foundations or underground stone foundations that can be found in Mirae Village building site E-1. Rather, similar architectural techniques can be found in China and Japan. In China, similar construction techniques were discovered in buildings of worship that were primarily built in the palace surroundings, such as Jangan Castle. Based on this, it appears that roof tile building sites, such as site E-1, that have been discovered have a strong correlation with the characteristics of buildings of worship, and ground type buildings, such as sites D-1 and D-2, are important facilities that are related to important public facilities such as state-run warehouses. This provides many implications regarding the early Baekje city structure.

Wind pressure data have been collected on the tiled roof of a full-scale test house at Silsoe in the UK. The tiled roof was of conventional UK construction with a batten-space and bitumen-felt underlay beneath the interlocking concrete tiles. Pressures were monitored on the outer surface of selected tiles, at several locations within the batten-space, and beneath the underlay. Data were collected both with and without ventilator tiles installed on the roof. Little information appears to exist on the share of wind load between tiles and underlays which creates uncertainty in the design of both components. The present study has found that for the critical design case of maximum uplifts it would be appropriate to assign 85% of the net roof load to the tiles and 15% to the underlay when an internal pressure coefficient of -0.3 is used, and to assign 60% to the tiles and 50% to the underlay when an internal pressure coefficient of +0.2 is assumed (an element of design conservatism is inherent in the apparent 110% net loading indicated by the latter pair of percentage values). These findings indicate that compared with loads implied by BS 6399-2, UK design loads for underlay are currently conservative by 25% whilst tile loads are unconservative by around 20% in ridge and general regions and by around 45% in edge regions on average over roof slopes of $15^{\circ}-60^{\circ}$.

Feasibility study on large scale projects like an investment on infrastructure development is very important because it provides fundamental data which determine the total investment size and duration. However, previous feasibility studies have a few problems of ambiguous estimation standards, unsystematical estimation methods, and so on. Accordingly, this study intends to regulate tile problems on economic feasibility as well as financial feasibility study which have been considered more critical in recent time, subsequently presents a reform measure. Also, this study identifies predictable risks during the feasibility study, presents a scheme which lets investor and owner control the risk themselves through a process which uses theoretical and political management plans.
Recently water demand is increasing as the industry prospers. The increase of water demand is followed by the increase of wastewater discharge which pollutes rivers and ground water extensively. These rivers, reservoirs and ground water are sources for drinking water and their contamination affects the quality of water supply and other potable water. In Korea there are 776 water treatment plants which supply drinking water from main rivers or reservoirs. Rivers are the biggest water source for drinking water is being contaminated, the innovation of treatment process is needed. The construction and operation of water supply facilities is under the control of the Ministry of Construction and the water supply offices of cities and provinces. However, drinking water quality is under the control of the bureau of sanitation in the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. There are 33 items in drinking water quality standards of Korea. Trihalomethanes, Selenium, Diazinone and other three of pesticides have been included lately, The Ministry of Health and Social Affairs is planning to enhance. the level of $VOC_S$(Vola-tile Organic Compounds) standard. Drinking water quality standard is the goal to protect the quality of supply water and ground water. In order to protect the source water from domestic or industrial water, technological improvement and adequate investment should be urgently made. The ultimate goal of drinking water quality is safety and health of consumers. The more stringent the standard are, the better the water quality will be. As the drinking water quality standards become more stringent this year, various and positive solutions by the authorities concerned must be prepared.

Hanok has been widely distributed as a support policy by local governments for the purpose of improving residential environment. In this study, Hanok in a rural area was founded was to evaluate the user's satisfaction. Hanok between residents and the perception of architects and tries to figure out the difference. Current Hanok residents showed higher satisfaction, but they showed negative response for high construct cost, plane form of building, insulation performance and noise. According to the comparison of recognition between residents and architectural designers, they showed differences in "Low soundproofing", "lack of storage space", "Equipment", "Tile", "The modularity of the flat panel design", and "The modularity of construction materials" and it was examined that architectural designers group had higher preference for traditional materials and forms. For succeeding to the traditional architectural factors of Hanok and distributing it as modern house, the research on use of modern materials and modulation of plane and members should be performed for reducing construction cost and improving insulation performance.
