  • Cylindrical plunge grinding is widely used for final machining process of precision parts such as automobile, aircraft, measurement units. But in order to make parts which have high precision accuracy and high surface integrity, it is necessary to consider grinding characteristics due to accumulation phenomena of grinding wheel in plunge grinding process. In this study, in order to examine closely plunge grinding process, grinding power, grinding force, real depth of cut are monitored in transient state, steady state and spark out state. As the result, it is shown that grinding power and force are affected by dressing condition, depth of cut and speed ratio and that there exist threshold grinding force and it also affected by dressing condition. Also considered effects of grinding conditions on surface roughness and roundness of workpiece

  • Force generated during grinding process causes elastic defomation. The effect of this deforms a workpiecs. So grinding system is explainable using the concept of macining elasticity phenomenon. Machining elasticity is defined as ratio between the true depth of c ut, and an importnat factor to affect material removal mchanism and productivity. Generally, to produce accurate surface and dimensionally precise components operators depend on their experiences. Because of these, productivity is reduced and time is wasted. The objective of this reserch is to study the effect of grinding conditions, such as table speed, depth of cut on the machining elasticity parameter.

  • This paper aims at reviewing the possibility of application over normal or abnormal, detection used by AE, and the characteristics of grinding processes. In this study, when WA-vitri-fied ' resinoid bond grinding wheels:36 kinds of grinding wheel and grinding depth were tuned at the surface grinding, the zone of AE signal generation is theoretically modelled and reviewed by grinding processes. The variation of grinding resistance( F$n^{9}$ $F_{t}$) and AE signal is detected in-process by the use of AE measuring system. The tests are carried out in accordance with grain size and grade of grinding wheels, and work-pieces-STD11 and STD61. According to the experiment's results, the following can be expected;as grinding time passes by, the relation of grinding depth and quantity of AE signal, observing on AE signal and grinding burn suggest the characteristics of grinding processes and evalution on the possibility of control of grinding machine, and monitoring abnormal conditions.e, and monitoring abnormal conditions.
