기 - 액 - 고 3상계 교반조내의 고-액간 물질이동 (Solid-Liquid Mass Transfer in Gas-Solid-Liquid 3-Phase System Agitated Vessel)

  • Rushton turbine, paddle and propeller 임펠러 등 표준적인 임펠러가 부착된 기-액-고 3상교반조에서 고-액간 물질이동계수 $k_L$를 측정하였다. 표준적인 임펠러들에 대한 부유화한계회전수 $N_{js}$는 임펠러 높이와 가스유속에 따라 변했다. 입자부유가 통기에 의존한 Rushton turbine 임펠러의 물질이동계수는 Pgv에만 상관하였다. Rushton turbine, paddle and propeller 임펠러에 대한 물질이동계수 $k_L$은 임펠러의 종류에 의하지 않고 임펠러 위치에 영향을 받았다.

High-Performance Time-Code Diversity Scheme for Shore-to-Sea Maritime Visible-Light Communication

  • This paper presents a novel shore-to-sea maritime data transmission system based on time-code diversity, using visible light in maritime environments to overcome the limitations of conventional maritime wireless communications. The proposed system is primarily comprised of existing LED-based lighthouses and maritime transceivers (marine beacons, buoys, etc.), and thus is considered cost-effective in terms of implementation. We first analyze maritime visible-light communications on the basis of the unique properties of a maritime environment, i.e. sea states (wave height, wind speed, etc.), plus atmospheric turbulence, using the Pierson-Moskowitz (PM) and JONSWAP (JS) spectrum models. It is found that the JS model outperforms the PM model, and that the coverage distance depends on the LED power and sea states. To combat maritime fading conditions that significantly degrade performance and coverage distance, we propose a time-code diversity (TCD) scheme in which the delayed versions of the original data are retransmitted using orthogonal Walsh codes. This TCD scheme is found to be superior, in that it offers three orders of magnitude in terms of BER performance, compared to a conventional (non-TCD) transmission scheme. The proposed scheme is robust and efficient in overcoming the effect of impairments present in maritime environments with a BER of approximately $10^{-5}$and a data rate of 100 Kbps at a distance of 1 km.

여러 가지 은나노 물질의 유해 남조 Microcystis aeruginosa 생장억제 (Growth Inhibition of Toxic Cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosa by Various SNPs (Silver Nanoparticles))

  • 여러 가지 은나노물질(SNPs)의 M. aeruginosa 생장에 대한 영향을 실내, 외 실험을 통해 조사하였다. 제조된 4가지 SNPs는 농도 $200mg\;L^-1$, 입자크기 $20{\sim}40nm$, 갈색 Ag로서의 수용액이었으며 이 용액들을 각각 실험에 사용하였다. SNPs는 unicellular M. aeruginosa에 대하여 0.01, $0.1mg\;L^-1$의 첨가농도에서 각각 99.4%, 99.9%의 조류 생장억제 효과를 나타냈으며, colonial M. aeruginosa에 대하여는 여러 가지 농도 중 $1mg\;L^-1$의 농도에서 가장 높은 생장억제 효과(98.5%)를 나타냈다. 더욱이 부영양화한 현장에서 SNPs를 첨가한 enclosure 실험을 통해 M. aeruginosa에 대한 선택적 제어 가능성이 시사되었다. 본 연구를 통해서 향후 SNPs를 더욱 보완하면 M. aeruginosa를 비롯한 유해 남조의 선택적 제어에 좀더 효과적일 것으로 판단된다.

Lack of O-Polysaccharide Renders Bradyrhizobium japonicum More Resistant to Organic Acid Stress

  • In previous studies, we isolated an isogenic LPS mutant of Bradyrhizobium japonicum 61A101C, which was completely devoid of O-polysaccharide and had altered cell surface characteristics. Subsequently, the mutated gene was identified, cloned, and used to complement the LPS mutant strain JS314 to restore the phenotype. Since it has been reported that in Escherichia coli LPS O-polysaccharide is involved in resistance to an organic acid such as acetic acid under low pH (Barna et al., Molecular Microbiology 43: 629-640, 2002), we compared the organic acid resistance of the three B. japonicum strains; wild-type 61A101C, the LPS mutant JS314, and the complemented strain to determine whether the role of O-polysaccharide in the resistance to organic acid could be generalized. Growth of all three strains was inhibited by the presence of 3 mM acetic acid under acidic condition (pH 5.5). To our surprise, however, in the presence of 2 mM acetic acid, wild-type and the complemented strains did not grow while the $LPS^-$ mutant showed a significant growth. Therefore, unlike in E. coli, the lack of O­polysaccharide of LPS appears to render B. japonicum more resistant to organic acid.

지르코니아 블록 종류에 따른 전부도재관의 기계적 특성 비교 (Comparison of mechanical properties of all ceramic crown on zirconia blocks)

  • Purpose: This study provided the basic data for selecting the zirconia blocks by comparing the mechanical properties of the all ceramic crown between the domestic, import, translucent and shade blocks that were used in clinically. Methods: Currently, the most commercial block of five types(one import and two domestic block which is the translucent and shade) were used. It were elucidated by means of three point bending test, hardness test, FE-SEM observations and EDX analysis. The results were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA and Scheffe post hoc test for significant findings. Results: For flexural strength, LT specimen was the highest as 733.1 MPa, followed by JT specimen(712.0 MPa), ZT specimen(646.0 MPa), LS specimen(553.1 MPa), JS specimen(429.0 MPa). One-way ANOVA showed statistically significant difference between groups for flexural strength(p<0.05). For hardness, ZT specimen was the highest as 1556.5 Hv, followed by JT specimen(1540.3 Hv), LT specimen(1512.3 Hv), JS specimen(1472.0 Hv), LS specimen(1353.3 Hv). One-way ANOVA showed statistically significant difference between groups for hardness(p<0.05). Conclusion: Domestic block was higher than import block for flexural strength, and translucent block was higher than shade block for flexural strength. However, all blocks showed clinically acceptable range. There was no significant difference in hardness between domestic and import blocks. And significant difference was observed in translucent and shade blocks.

Somatic embryogenesis and in vitro plant regeneration from various explants of the halophyte Leymus chinensis (Trin.)

  • The halophyte Leymus chinensis (Trin.) is a perennial rhizome grass (tribe Gramineae) that is widely distributed throughout China, Mongolia and Siberia. This study was conducted to investigate an optimal condition for plant regeneration from mature seeds, leaf base segments, and root segments in L. chinensis. Plant growth regulators affecting embryogenic callus induction and plant regeneration were investigated by four-factor-three-level [L9 (34)] orthogonal test in this study. The effects of explants types (mature seeds, leaf base segments and root segments), callus types, medium types were examined in this study. Wild type (WT) and Jisheng No. 1 plants (JS) were used for primary callus induction. A clear explants difference was seen during callus induction; mature seeds were considered as the preferred explants; and the highest frequency of callus induction was obtained in Medium 6 using mature seeds as explants in WT. Plant regeneration ability was evaluated by frequencies of green callus forming, shooting, rooting, and shooting with roots. Effect of α-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) on shoot regeneration was remarkable with the highest frequency of 70.8% in WT after 2-month culture. The medium with 0.2- 0.5 mg/L NAA was found to have the highest shoot induction. All regenerated shoots were successfully rooted when transferred on half-strength Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal medium. The acclimatized plantlets were grown to mature with flowering and seeds setting in green house conditions.

부채꼴 모델에 기반한 CSS3 극좌표계 서식 모듈의 설계 (Design of CSS3 Polar-Coordinate Layout Module based on Fan Model)

  • Most web documents are written in Cartesian coordinates, so the study of vertical arrangement of text has been well organized, while the study of circular arrangement is very early. With the recent development of circular display devices, the demand for circular arrangement of texts is increasing. Thus, we proposed a CSS3 extended specification of polar coordinate layout for the circular placement of text. First, we defined the concept of fan model for the text arrangement in polar coordinate which is corresponding to box model in Cartesian coordinate. And, we described new definition on the directions of sentence, paragraph and text orientation in polar coordinate. Based on this new definitions, we developed the extended specification consisting of three parts. A part for setting the fan model, a part for setting directions, and a part for setting typesetting properties. To verify the feasibility of the proposed specification in current web browsers, a preprocessor was developed and sample contents were examined. We compared the code length of the sample contents implemented using other JavaScript library CssWarp.js so as to verify the efficiency of the proposed specification.

산학협력단의 조직 효과성에 영향을 미치는 산학협력단장의 리더십 유형에 관한 실증연구 (A Empirical Study of Leadership style Influencing on Organizational Effectiveness of University-Industry Collaboration Foundation)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 산학협력단장의 리더십 4가지 유형이 조직효과성에 미치는 영향력을 규명하는데 있다. 전국 35개 대학의 산학협력단 직원 설문대상 404명 중 178명의 설문응답 내용을 AMOS를 사용하여 구조방정식모형(SEM)으로 분석하였다. 산학협력단장이 조직 효과성에 미치는 리더십의 영향력을 확인하기 위해 독립변수로서 변혁적 리더십(TFL), 거래적 리더십(TAL), 코칭 리더십(CL), 서번트 리더십(SL)으로 구분하고, 종속변수로서 직무만족(JS), 조직몰입(OC), 자기효능감(SE)으로 정의하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 직무만족 및 조직몰입에 대해 변혁적 리더십, 거래적 리더십 및 코칭 리더십이 영향력을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자기효능감에 대한 거래적 리더십과 서번트 리더십의 영향력은 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 셋째, 자기 효능감과 관련하여 산학협력단 직원들은 변혁적 리더십 및 코칭 리더십을 통해 약하게 영향을 받고 있었다. 넷째, 서번트 리더십의 경우 종속변수인 직무만족, 조직몰입, 자기효능감에 전혀 영향을 미치지 않았다.

지하주차장 내 수소연료차의 수소 방출시 가연체적에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A numerical analysis study on the flammable volume by leakage of hydrogen fuel vehicles in parking lot)

  • 최근 온실가스 저감과 더불어 저탄소배출 정책 등 환경오염에 관심이 증대되고 있다. 이에 따라 탄소배출을 저감할 수 있는 수소전지자동차를 비롯한 친환경 자동차의 보급률이 증가하고 있어 이에 대한 방재 및 안전관련 대책에 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 지하주차장의 장소에 국한하여 환기조건에 따라 수소연료자동차의 방출 시 수소의 농도 분포에 대한 위험정도를 수치해석을 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과, 수소탱크가 1개만 방출 될 경우 지하주차장 내 수소의 가연체적비는 최대 8.6%로 나타났으며, 환기가 지속적으로 이루어짐에 따라 연소가능한 수소의 체적비율은 150초 이후 1% 미만으로 감소되는 것으로 분석되어 기계적인 환기가 필수적인 것으로 분석되었다. 수소탱크 3개가 동시방출 또는 단계방출의 경우 최종적인 수소의 가연체적비율은 유사하지만 단계적으로 지연 방출함에 따라 방출 초기 수소의 가연체적비율의 증가폭이 낮은 것으로 나타났으며, 이에 따른 수소탱크 방출 시나리오의 추가적인 연구가 필요한 것으로 예상된다.

The Effect of Hallux Valgus Correction Taping on Foot Arch and Static Balance of Young Adult with Hallux Valgus

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of hallux valgus (HV) correction taping on the foot arch and balance of young adults with HV of the big toe. Methods: Forty-eight adults volunteered to participate in this study; of them, the 37 feet (11 men, 26 women) with ${\geq}15^{\circ}$ lateral bending of the metatarsophalangeal joint of the big toe, on a goniometer, were selected as the target foot. Non-elastic correction tape was applied to the foot with HV, while the target foot was used to evaluate the changes, before versus after taping, in the lateral bending angle of the big toe, navicular drop level, Clarke angle, and static balance using a Gaitview system. Each measurement was performed three times, and the average of each set was used in the analysis. The patients'general characteristics were compared by using an independent t-test, and the measurement values were analyzed by using a paired t-test. Results: After taping, the lateral bending angle of the toe significantly decreased (p<.05), difference in navicular drop level significantly decreased (p<.05), the Clarke angle significantly increased (p<.05), and static balance significantly improved (p<.05). Conclusion: We showed that HV taping resulted in an immediately improved HV angle, arch, and single-leg standing balance on the foot with HV. However, further studies should investigate the correlation between HV and foot arch.
