A study on indigenous diatoms was carried out at 71 sites during the period from April 1999 to August 2014 in marine and fresh water in Korea. Forty species of diatoms are new to Korea and they are divided into three classes, six subclasses, 13 orders, 19 families, and 28 genera. The nomenclatures, references, dimensions, specimens examined, local habitat, distribution in Korea, and photograph are reported here. The 40 species found in marine and fresh water showed speciesspecific habitats.

한국산 왕눈이반날개족에 대한 재검토 결과, 3속 10종 1아종으로 밝혀졌다. 이들 중, Veleeius circumipectus는 신종, Quedius japonicus sachonensis는 신아종이었으며, Heterothops rotundiceps, Q. japonicus(s.str.), Q. simulans, 및 V. setosus는 한국산 미기록 종이었다.

뿔나방과의 Brachyacma속 2신종 ; 앞테두리흰줄뿔나방(B. albilinella) 갈색테두리뿔나방(B. sublutiana)과 Aristotelia속1신종 ; 외줄수염뿔나방(A. mesotenebrella)등 3신종을 기재 보고한다.

제주도에서 채집된 게붙이류 2종. 가시등붉은게붙이 (Petrolisthes militaris) 와 검붉은게붙이 (P.coccineus)가 한국 미기록종으로 판명되어 재기재하고 보고한다. 지금까지 기록된 한국산 게붙이류는 모두 7속 9종이 되며 갯가게붙이속 (Petrolisthes)은 이제 3종이 기재되었다.

Chironomid adults were collected by light traps at night, sweeping on grasses, during daytime hours, sweeping of swarming males with an insect net, and aspiration of light-attracted adults using a sucking tube. The collected specimens were slide-mounted and examined. I identified two species new to science, namely Orthocladius manhaei n. sp. and Ablabesmyia jeongi n. sp., and three species for the first time in Korea: Paratrichocladius tamaator Sasa, 1981, Rheocricotopus chalybeatus (Edwards, 1929) and Hayesomyia tripunctata (Goetghebuer, 1922). This is the first report of the genera Rheocricotopus and Hayesomyia in Korea. The genus Hayesomyia in the tribe Pentaneurini of Tanypodinae has a Holarctic distribution with only one species recorded from each of the Palaearctic and Nearctic regions.

한국산 강도래목(Plecoptera) 3과 (Peltoperlidae, Perlodidae, Perlidae)의 성충, 유충, 난을 대상으로 분류학적 연구를 실시한 결과 총 3과 8속 8종으로 나타났다. 이 중 Perlodes stigmata n. sp., Kamimuria coreana n. sp., Neoperla coreensis n. sp., 3종이 신종으로 밝혀져 도판을 작성하고 기재하였다.

Three species of pelagic sergestid shrimps, Deosergestes seminudus (Hansen, 1919), Sergia lucens (Hansen, 1922) and S. talismani (Barnard, 1947), were identified based on collections by the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute from the Korean coast of the Yellow Sea between 2003 and 2011. They are herein reported for the first time from the Yellow Sea. Morphological descriptions and illustrations with color photographs of all species are also given. With the addition of these species, the family Sergestidae in the Korean waters now comprises five species belonging to three genera. Finally, a key to the Korean genus and species of the family Sergestidae is presented.

The genus Krenosmittia is a small group of Orthocladiinae, containing a total of twenty species in the world. Among them, six species were found in Japan, four species in China, and five species from the Russian Far East. This genus can be distinguished from other Orthocladiinae genera by the eyes bare, absence of acrostichals on thorax, costa strongly extended, anal vein ending proximal to FCu, squama bare, and having a strongly developed virga. We report three new species: K. danyangensis n. sp., K. triangulia n. sp., and K. pseudoannulata. The genus Krenosmittia is the first record in Korea. Line drawings of the diagnostic characters are provided for all the species recognized in this study.

The genus Parorthocladius is a small group among the subfamily Orthocladiinae (Diptera: Chironomidae). A total of ten species of Parorthocladius have been recorded in the world, of which two species were found from Japan, three species from China, and three species from the Russian Far East. Only one species, P. nudipennis is widely distributed in Europe and the Russian Far East. This genus can be distinguished from other genera by the absence of acrostichals on the thorax, wing vein R4+5 ending proximal to the tip of vein M3+4, anal point parallel side, rounded apically. We report four new species of Parorthocladius collected in Korea and described them with illustrations. As a result, fourteen species of Parorthocladius have been recorded in the world.

Three localities of coastal sand-dunes along the western coastline of Korea: Sindu-ri, Sinhap-ri, and Jaeun-do, were surveyed for the lepidopteran fauna. This survey resulted in the records of five species new to Korea: a species of Cosmopterigidae, Cosmopterix flavidella Kuroko, 2011, based on eight specimens from Sinhap-ri and Jaeun-do; a species of Tortricidae, Noduliferola abstrusa Kuznetzov, 1973, based on five specimens from Sinhap-ri and Jaeun-do; a species of Pyralidae, Maliarpha borealis Sasaki, 2012, based on four specimens from Sindu-ri; and two species of Erebidae, Ectoblemma rosella Sugi, 1982 and Metachrostis miasma (Hampson, 1891), based on one specimen for each from Jaeun-do. Three genera, Noduliferola Kuznetzov, 1973, Maliarpha Ragonot, 1888 and Ectoblemma Sugi, 1982, are introduced for the first time to the Korean fauna. Two species, Noduliferola abstrusa and Maliarpha borealis, are suggested as the indicator species for coastal sand-dunes. The superficial and genital features of the five species found from this study are described and illustrated. A photograph of the female genitalia of Ectoblemma rosella is provided for the first time.
