  • A new genus and two new species of Bathynellacea are described from California in USA. Califobathynella, a new genus, belongs to the subfamily Leptobathynellinae, and is closely related to the genera Parvulobathynella and Leptobathynella but differs from them with respect to labrum, maxillule, maxilla, and male thoracopod VIII. Based on the detailed structure of mouthparts, the phylogenetic relationship of three genera are discussed. The phlogenetic age of the stem species of three genera are estimated at the late Jurassic, based on their phylogenetic relationship and distribution pattern. Two new species, C. noodti and C. teucherti differ from each other in the structure of labrum.

  • We report three new records Korean marine gastropods. The new record species are Hipponix acuta, Lyncina (Ponda) carneola, and Velutina (Velutella) plicatilis cryptospira. As a result, the family Hipponicidae in Korea turned out to be 5 species of 4 genera, Cypraeidae are 14 species of 8 genera, and Velutinidae are 7 species of 3 genera, respectively.

  • Three new genera and species of siphonostomatoid copepods are described as associates of sponges from shallow water of Samar Island in the Philippines: Samarus filipes n. gen., n. sp., Paurocheres dentatus n. gen., n. sp., and Platymyzon umbonatum n. gen., n. sp. A new family Samarusidae is proposed to accommodate Samarus n. gen. which has rudimentary legs 1-5 represented only by filiform setae. Paurocheres n. gen. is characterized by 2-segmented endopod of leg 4 and reduced setation of legs, and Platymyzon n. gen. by missing of mandibular gnathobase.

  • Three monophyletic branches are strongly supported in a phylogenetic analysis of the Teloschistaceae based on combined data sets of internal transcribed spacer and large subunit nrDNA and 12S small subunit mtDNA sequences. These are described as new monotypic genera: Jasonhuria S. Y. Kondr., L. Lőkös et S. -O. Oh, Loekoesia S. Y. Kondr., S. -O. Oh et J. -S. Hur and Olegblumia S. Y. Kondr., L. Lőkös et J. -S. Hur. Three new combinations for the type species of these genera are proposed.

  • Most known species in the Physalacriaceae are saprotrophs that grow on decaying leaves and wood, and approximately 21 genera in the Physalacriaceae have been reported worldwide. During an ongoing survey of indigenous fungi in Korea, four specimens belonging to the Physalacriaceae were collected on Ulleung Island. These specimens were identified as three species based on morphological characteristics and molecular analysis of rDNA-internal transcribed spacer sequences. Three species in three genera were shown to be new records in Korea: Hymenopellis orientalis, Paraxerula hongoi, and Ponticulomyces orientalis. The latter two are the first records of these genera in Korea. In this study, we provide detailed morphological descriptions of these species and describe their phylogenetic position within the Physalacriaceae.

  • A taxonomic study on the genera Phyllognathopus and Harpacticella has been accomplished as one of the serial researches on the freshwater harpacticoids in South Korea. As a result, four species belonging to the genera are clarified, three of which are new to Korean fauna: P. viguieri (Maupas), P. paludosus Mrazek, and H. paradoxa (Brehm).

  • Three cyclostomatous bryozoans from Korea belonging to the genera Bicrisia and Nevianipora are described here for the first time. The specimens collected from six localities of the South Sea and Jejudo Island during the period from 1981 to 2020 were observed. The three cyclostomatous bryozoans are Nevianipora pulcherrimoidea (Liu in Liu, Yin & Ma, 2001), N. rugatata (Liu in Liu, Yin & Ma, 2001), and Bicrisia edwardsiana (d'Orbigny, 1841). Nevianipora pulcherrimoidea and N. rugatata were previously found only from the South China Sea, whereas Bicrisia edwardsiana is widespread. As a result of this study, the Korean cyclostomatous bryozoans have increased to 20 species, 10 genera, and five families. Redescriptions and illustrations by scanning electron microscopy of the three species new to the Korean fauna are provided herein.

  • Three Korean species of the subtribe Stigmina are treated: Carinostigmus filippovi Gussakovskij, Tzustigmus rhinocerous Budrys, and Stigmus japonicus Tsuneki. The last two genera and species are new to Korea. A key to Korean genera of the subtribe Stigmina and diagnostic features of three species with digital images are provided.

  • Four cyclostomatous bryozoans from Korea belong to the genera Bicrisia, Nevianipora, Tubulipora and Crisia are described here for the first time. Of which, Bicrisia erecta Mawatari & Mawatari, 1973, Nevianopora pulcherrima (Kirkpatrick, 1890) and Tubulipora similis Liu in Liu, Yin & Ma, 2001 are newly added to the Korean bryozoan fauna, and Crisia spissus n. sp. is new to science. These species in this study are identified based on three features, which are its pseudopore, gonozooids and ooeciostomes. Two genera, Bicrisia and Nevianopora, are new to the Korean bryozoan fauna. As a result of this study, nine Korean cyclostomatous bryozoans in seven genera, five families are reported.
