The depression of the external situation like the departure of WTO system and the plan of EEZ proclaim is forcing fishery into improving their fishing condition. By this international and domestic circumstance, development of the sea water cooling apparatus for fish hold storage is demanded sincerely. This study represents the thermal characteristics of the fish hold storage during transportation. The numerical analysis in this study is the finite volume method with the SIMPLE computational algorithm to study the seawater flow behavior in the fish hold storage. The computation were carried out with the variations of the circulating flow velocity and depth of fish hold storage. As the result of the three dimensional simulations, the mean temperature doesn't almost change by the circulating flow rate. find the mean temperature is suddenly changed by the ratio of depth of fish hold storage.
The critical flow phenomenon has been studied because of its significant effect for design basis accidents in nuclear power plants. Transition points from thermal non-equilibrium to equilibrium are different according to the geometric effect on the critical flow. This study evaluates the uncertainty parameters of the critical flow model for analysis of DBA (Design Basis Accident) with the MARS-KS (Multi-dimensional Analysis for Reactor Safety-KINS Standard) code used as an independent regulatory assessment. The uncertainty of the critical flow model is represented by three parameters including the thermal non-equilibrium factor, discharge coefficient, and length to diameter (L/D) ratio, and their ranges are determined using large-scale Marviken test data. The uncertainty range of the thermal non-equilibrium factor is updated by the MCDA (Model Calibration through Data Assimilation) method. The updated uncertainty range is confirmed using an LBLOCA (Large Break Loss of Coolant Accident) experiment in the LOFT (Loss of Fluid Test) facility. The uncertainty ranges are also used to calculate an LBLOCA of the APR (Advanced Power Reactor) 1400 NPP (Nuclear Power Plants), focusing on the effect of the PCT (Peak Cladding Temperature). The results reveal that break flow is strongly dependent on the degree of the thermal non-equilibrium state in a ruptured pipe with a small L/D ratio. Moreover, this study provides the method to handle the thermal non-equilibrium factor, discharge coefficient, and length to diameter (L/D) ratio in the system code.

Confined natural convection due to lateral temperature difference in rectangular enclosures was studied numerically and experimentally for the insulated and the constant temperature enclosures. In the case of insulated enclosure, the flow pattern and heat transfer modes are rather simple depending mainly upon Rayleigh number. In the case of isothermal enclosure, however, the phenomena of flow and heat transfer are somewhat complex and interesting due to the stable thermal gradients and various circumstances resulted from four wall temperature conditions. As a dimensionless variable, to describe properly the flow and heat transfer phenomena in the isothermal enclosure, temperature difference ratio ${\Delta}T_v/{\Delta}T_H$ is newly introduced and this parameter seems to be appropriate in the analysis of results on the effect of stabilizing thermal gradient.

This paper presents a solution to the inverse problem for the service boundary conditions of thermal-flow and structure analysis in a catalyst substrate. The exhaust-gas purification efficiency of a catalyst substrate is influenced by the shape parameter, catalyst ingredients and so on and is estimated by the thermal flow uniformity. The formulations of the inverse problem of obtaining the thermal-flow parameters (inlet temperature, velocity, heat of reaction, convective heat-transfer coefficient) and the direct problem of estimating from a given outlet temperature distribution are described. An experiment was designed and the response-surface optimization technique was used to solve the proposed inverse problem. The temperature distribution of the catalyst substrate was obtained by thermal-flow analysis for the predicted thermal-flow parameters. The thermal stress and durability assessments for the catalyst substrate were performed on the basis of this temperature distribution. The efficiency and accuracy of the inverse approach have been demonstrated through the achievement of good agreement between the thermal-flow response surface model and the results of experimental vehicle tests.
The dish type solar thermal concentrating system can collect the solar energy above $800^{\circ}C$. It has a concentration ratio of 800 and total reflector area of $49m^2$. To operate solar receivers at high temperature, the optimum aperture size is obtained from a comparison between maximizing absorbed energy and minimizing thermal losses. The system efficiency is defined as the absorbed energy by working fluid in receiver divided by the energy coming from the concentrator. We find that system efficiency is stable in case of flow rate of above 6lpm. The system efficiency are 64.9% and 65.7% in flow rate of 6lpm and 8lpm, respectively. The thermal performance showed that the maximum efficiency and the factor of thermal loss in flow rate of 8lpm are 68% and 0.0508.

A combined thermal and flow analysis was carried out to study the behavior and performance of a small, commercial LTD (Low-Temperature-Differential) heat engine. Laminar-flow solutions for annulus and channel flows were employed to estimate the viscous drags on the piston and the displacer and the pressure difference across the displacer. Temperature correction factors were introduced to account for the departure from the ideal heat transfer processes. The analysis results indicate that the work required to overcome the viscous drags on engine moving parts and to move the displacer is much smaller than the moving-boundary work produced by the power piston for temperature differentials in the neighborhood of $20^{\circ}C$ and engine speeds below 10 RPS. A comparison with experimental data reveals large degradations from the ideal heat transfer processes. Thus, heat-transfer devices inside the displacer cylinder are recommended.
These days global warming is the most important problem and the most important factor is high emission of carbon dioxide. The 23% of carbon dioxide emission for building construction must be reduced. Thermal conductivity is the most basic factor that can decrease the energy consumption especially insulation. Therefore, an accurate and continuous thermal conductivity measurement can be a way to save energy. In this paper, there are methods about how to investigate thermal conductivity measurements and comparing two methods which are the Heat Flow Meter 436 and TCi.

Direct safety injection into the reactor vessel downcomer annulus(DVI) is a fundamental feature of the KNGR(Korean Next Generation Reactor) four-train safety injection system. The numerical analysis of thermal mixing of ECC(Emergency Core Cooling) water through DVI with the water in the RVDC(Reactor Vessel Downcomer) annulus has been performed, in order to study the impact of nozzle location on the pressurized thermal shock and safety analysis. The results of this study show that the thermal mixing due to the natural circulation induced by the limiting accident conditions is sufficient to prevent temperature in the RVDC from dropping to the level of concern for PTS. When the DVI nozzle is located right above the cold leg, the temperature distribution at the outlet of flow field is most uniform. The tool used for numerical analysis is CFDS-FLOW3D.

Both the computational and experimental analysis have been conducted in this study to develop the high efficiency agriculture products dryer by the uniform thermal flow distribution in the drying room. It has been developed based on the results of the computation and experiment in the conventional dryer to improve the thermal flow distribution in drying room. The developed dryer can be prevented the local concentration of the heated wind and achieved the uniform flow distribution using the installation of vertical branch ducts, ribs, guide vanes and porous plates. As a result, the developed dryer reduced the fuel consumption up to $15\%$ and the electricity consumption up to $31.5\%$ compared with the conventional dryer.
Gas Chromatography (GC) is a wisely technique used for the separation and analysis of liquid and gas sample. Separation of the sample vapors is achieved via their differential migration through a capillary column with an insert carrier gas. The identity and quantity of each vapor in the mixer can be determined from its retention time in the column and a particular property of the gas, such as thermal conductivity, which can be related to the concentration of sample vapor in the carrier gas. Therefore, the flow characteristics in the spiral gas chromatographic column are numerically investigated in this study. Especially, different pressure drop between the front and the rear of GC column with various flow rates is estimated the governing equations are derived from making using of three-dimensional Naver-Stokes equation with incompressible and laminar model due to the nature of low Reynolds number flow. Using a commercial code, FLUENT, the pressure and flow fields in GC column are calculated with various flow rates. The characteristics of thermal cycling which is one of the most important factors affecting the column efficiency and analysis time is also estimated. Furthermore, numerical analyses are also carried out by using commercial code, ANSYS, with various values of power, which is applied to the heating element located at lower GC column.
