한국 한의학에서 소갈 분류의 형성과정 (The formation of Sogal concept and classification in Korean Traditional Medicine)

  • To overcome the limits of prevention and treatment against Diabetes Mellitus(DM) in Western medicine, there have been tendency finding solutions in traditional medicine based on Sogal. But Sogal had been so various concepts, classification and names. As a result there has been confusion in applying Sogal treatment to DM. So in order to clarify, it is necessary to study Sogal concepts and classification historically. The results of studying changes of Sogal concepts and classification are following : Untill AD 8 century, Sogal had not been only syndrome but also disease with throat and urinating difficulties. From 10c to 13c, Sogal had been divided three types in addition to the theories of internal organs, Samcho and complications. From 13c to 14c, the three types of Sogal theory was improved by various medical theory. But still Sogal covered the concepts of syndrome and disease. After 16c, in Chosun Dynasty. concepts of syndrome was eliminated and concepts of disease was strengthend by accounts on pathology, prognosis. complications and malignities. This tendeny was showed well in ${\ulcorner}DongEuiBoGam{\lrcorner}$ and connected to post doctors in Chosun. It was distiction with Chinese Traditional Medicine's view regarding Sogal as syndrome and disease as well, up to the present.

데카르트의 심신론이 의학에 미친 영향 (The impact of Rene Descartes′s Mind-Body Theory on Medicin)

  • A purpose of this study is to study on Rene Descartes's mind-body theory in medical aspect. Though Rene Descartes was not so much a doctor as a philosopher, he had health and medical science at heart. When he came into the world in 1596, he was in poor health. Therefore, he suffered from his bad health. Descartes's ideas absolutely colored Western thought for three hundred years, especially, his mind-body theory, mechanistic life-view, and reductionism had important effect on medical study and science of public health. As a rule, we know that his mind-body theory was applicable to mind-body dualism, and his mind-body dualism was connected with biomedical model of medicine. But by this study, his mind-body theory was not only mind-body dualism but also mind-body monoism. And he asserted mind-body interaction too. In other words, he advocated mind-body dualism in scientific aspect, but he knew mind-body monoism from his experence. He confessed this fact to Princess Elizabeth of Bohemia, he wrote mind-body interaction in $\boxDr$Discours de la methode$\boxUl$, $\boxDr$Meditationes de prima philosophia$\boxUl$, and $\boxDr$Traite des passions de 1'ame$\boxUl$ etc. However, only mind-body dualism of his mind-body theories was written in our medical text book, morever mental realm was excluded from the persuit of learning Descartes advocated a mechanistic world-view and mechanistic life-view, he regarded human body as a machine part. And a paticent corresponds to a troubled machine, a doctor deserves a repairman. But this point of view made holistic understanding of man impossible. Descartes divide the whole into basic building blocks, we named the approach Reductionism. Reductionism led to ontological concept in medical science, bacteriology established 'specific cause-specific disease-specific therapy'. We examined medical influence of Descartes's thought, we need to draw out a philosophic basis of medical science and science of public health by a close study of his records.

추상, 그 미학적 담론의 초기 현상 -1930년대 한국의 경우 (Abstract Art, the early phenomena of aesthetic discourse - In the case of Korean art in 1930s)

  • In the late decade of 1930, under the Japanese Imperialism, the Korean abstract art which was formed with affection by Japan and Europe. They say the early Korean abstract art is colonized, from a point that it derives from exterior impact. And they say also it is colonized not to be related to the representation of their own life world. On the other hand, the early Korean abstract art in 1930s is told as the prehistory of 'Korean Modernism in Art', which flourished in 1970s followed 'Informal Art Movement' in the late 1950s. Because the status of abstract art in 1930s was not more than a germ of 'Korean Modernism in Art', while they understand until 1950s as a period dominated by representational art based on Chosun Exhibition or Korean National Exhibition, the period until 1970s as a period ruled by abstract art which was accepted as 'Korean Modernism in Art', and the period after 1980s as a period by Min-jung Art and Post-Modernism Art. However, the historical value of Korean Abstract Art in 1930s cannot be passed over, if not trying to understand the development of 'Korean Modernism in Art' especially focusing on not their own history but the impact of Western and Japanese art. In the late colonial period, the Korean early abstract art was the strongest utterance of the time paradoxically, even if not related much to optical representation of the Korean subjectivity. Therefore the existing viewpoints about the early Korean abstract art should be changed.

한국 근대 디자인 개념과 양식의 수용 - 동경미술학교 도안과 유학생 임숙재(任璹宰)를 중심으로 (Adoption of Modern Design Concept and Style: Sook-Jae Lim and his Works)

  • This thesis is a study on Sook-Jae Lim(1899~1937) and Korean modern design. In modern Korea, design like most cultural advances came from western culture, that was introduced via Japan. So Korean design can be betterunderstood from observing Japanese modern design history. The research on Japanese modern design, however, is not being done actively. Sook-Jae Lim was the first Korean to graduate from the Department of Design at Tokyo Fine Arts School (currently the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music). He died at a premature 38 years old, so very little of his works exist. That makes the study about him very difficult. From this perspective, the study aims to examine modern design concepts and styles accepted into Korea from Japan and position Lim as an early design pioneer in Korean design history, by using research of Korean and Japanese design fields in the modern era with focus on Lim and his works. Chapter II researches the process of how the concept of design was formed in modern Japan and how the "Art-Nouveau" style not only represents early modern design but also features Lim's works dominantly. Chapter III looks into the process of how the concept of design was formed and which design styles were introduced and applied in modern Korea. Chapter IV analyzes how Lim's viewpoint on design and his works were developed with observations about the tendency of the Japanese design field and curriculums of the Tokyo Fine Arts School during the period of his college days.

생활양식으로서의 웰빙(Well-Being): 이론과 적용의 뿌리 찾기 (Looking at 'Well-Being' in Terms d Lifestyle: Healthy or Trendy?)

  • This paper is an attempt to discuss theoretical and empirical issues embedded in a rapidly dispersing well-being lifestyle in Korea. Increase of people's interests in health and well-being reflects the fact that Korea has been developed socially and economically to the level for common people to pursue the quality of life beyond survival or basic standards of life. The term, well-being life style, was first constructed and has been dispersed through mass media. Media contributes to popularize health issues and to deliver the importance of lifestyle for health promotion to the general public. Well-being lifestyle, initiated by media and joined with commercialism, however, reveal certain negative sides as well. Health or healthy lifestyle in Western societies has been rooted theoretically in the change of health paradigm and the political emphasis on the lifestyle for health promotion in policy implications. Well-being lifestyle in Korea, in lack of theoretical and institutional foundations, is being substantially formed into distorted consumerism. Based on the sociological theories of stratification, it might be necessary to discuss the well-being consumerism in respect of tension among people with different consuming power and the destruction of solid market principles. Considering well-being consumerism as a risk factor to societal well-being, it is also necessary to examine conflicting or misleading information about well-being and to explore the scientific knowledge and principles. All these discussions and examination need to be done with interdisciplinary efforts. Especially, tasks for developing application principles for everyday life are on hands of researchers in living sciences.

유길준의 『서유견문』에서 보이는 지구에 대한 과학적인 서술 (A Scientific Description of the Earth as Seen in Yu Giljun's SeoYuGyeonMun)

  • 이 연구에서는 유길준이 저술한 서유견문(1895) 중 제1편의 일부인 '1. 지구 세계의 개론' 항목을 대상으로 지구에 대한 과학적인 서술을 분석했다. 분석 대상은 서유견문 전체의 서론 역할을 한다. 전통적인 관념에서의 땅이 아니라 천체로서 지구를 언급한 우리나라 초창기의 문헌 중 하나이다. 과학용어가 확정되기 전에 활동했던 유길준은 지구의 자전 현상을 '자신전'으로, 해왕성을 '해룡성'으로 번역하는 나름의 노력을 보였다. 그는 지진파의 종류에 서양학자의 이론, 본초 자오선 설정과 관련한 국제적인 회의 내용 등, 같은 당시로서는 최신의 과학적 논쟁과 사실을 서유견문에 포함시켰다. 과학 전공이 아닌 유길준은 과학 내용을 서술하는데 후쿠자와(福澤諭吉)의 훈몽궁리도해(訓蒙窮理圖解)(1868)와 마쓰모토(松本駒次郎)의 격물지지(格物地誌)(1876)가 참고 자료로 이용되었을 것이다. '지구 세계의 개론'에 서술된 내용은 오늘날의 지구과학 교과서에 해당하는 기본적인 구성과 내용을 담고 있다.

기억을 위한 아키비스트 - 기록과 기억의 이론적 고찰 - (Archivists for Memory: A Theoretical Study on Archives and Memory)

  • 기록학에서 집단 기억, 사회적 기억에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으나, 아직 그 이론적 배경을 고찰한 연구는 많지 않다. 기억이 가지는 포괄성이 기록이 가지는 제한된 역사기술을 보완할 수 있다는 점에서 서구의 많은 학자들은 아키비스트가 문자화된 기록뿐만 아니라 도처에 만연해 있는 기억을 수집해야 한다고 주장한다. 아키비스트의 사회적 역할에는 공유되고 전승되는 기억을 통해 한 시대를 살고 있는 사람들의 모습을 재구성해야 함이 포함된다. 기억이 가지는 사회적 특성은 주류문화 위주 기록문화의 한계성에 도전하고, 비주류문화, 비기록문화의 역사를 포함하고 전승하도록 한다. 이러한 기억의 담론에서 아키비스트는 기록관에 수집하고 보존할 역사의 내용이 문자화된 지배집단의 기록에만 한정할지, 소외받고 배제되는 사회집단을 포함할 것인지 결정하는 역사의 중요한 권력자다. 본 연구에서는 기억에 대한 이론적 배경을 고찰하고, 역사와 기록이 기억의 담론에서 어떻게 인식되고 설명되는지 살펴본다. 결론에 갈음하여, 기억의 담론에서 기록관과 아키비스트의 역할을 논의한다.

근대적(近代的) 개념(槪念)의 예술(藝術)-교육(敎育)과 F. L. 라이트의 낭만적(浪漫的) 진보주의(進步主義) 교육사상(敎育思想)에 관한 연구(硏究) -이원적 일원론(一元論)으로서의 낭만적 교육 사상을 중심으로- (A Study on Art-Education as a Modern Idea and F. L. Wright's Romantic Educational Thoughts -Focused on the Romantic Educational Thoughts as a Dualistic Monism-)

  • This study researched the art-educational thoughts as a modern idea influenced with the social and philosophical transitions in the 19th century. Moreover, this study focused on Frank Lloyd Wright's educational thoughts, because those educational revolutions had appeared as one of the results that Western society's character was rapidly changed by those revolutions, so called, Industrial Revolution, American and French Revolution, and Cultural Revolution of Romanticism, from late 18th century, and eventually because that revolutionary educational ideas had closely and basically many relations with Wright's thought. As a result, even though Wright's education such an apprenticeship was a traditional shape, which was not the old-fashioned educational method discipling to the skillful man, but against the existing education through the self-learning from experiences in nature. That is similar to transcendentalists such as Emerson who searched for having an inspiration in Nature. Namely, Wright himself had struggled against the existing dualistic educational concepts through Wright's monistic thoughts on art-education including architecture based on not naturalism but the philosophy of nature by romantic idealistic philosophers such as Shelling, Fickle, Kant, Hegel including with his Master, Sullivan, and by revolutionary educators such as Freobel, Ruskin, Dewey, and above all by his Unitarian doctrine. However, Wright's thoughts was at that time so radical, and as Wright himself acknowledged that, 'because the philosophy back of it, of course, as you know, is midway I guess between East and West', such all philosophical objects to influence on Wright were so abstruse idea which is usually called 'Romantic' or 'Mystic' that is mingled with East's and West's essence. That is, because Wright himself catched that the theories and methods of the art-educational thoughts would not be easily perceived, and he judged that in a word as a character which could not be taught. After all, Wright's romantic progressivist art-educational thoughts have not been perceived, disseminated in general and widely.

배우의 미학적 발성을 위한 판소리의 활용방안 (Use of Pansori for Developing Actor's Aesthetic Voice)

  • 본 연구는 배우가 한국전통의 고유한 미학적 발성을 체득하기 위하여 한국 전통연극의 소리미학인 판소리의 호흡법, 발성법, 공명법을 분석하여 그 활용방안을 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 오늘날 세계의 연극흐름에서 상호문화교류주의와 글로벌 현상은 더 이상 새로운 이슈도, 새로운 접근법도 아니다. 세계 연극의 글로벌 현상은 이미 보편화되었는바, 연극을 완성시키는 배우의 연기 또한 글로벌 연극문화를 수용, 교류할 수 있어야 하겠다. 이는 배우들에게 다양한 스타일의 연기를 표현할 수 있는 능력의 요구를 의미하기도 하지만, 상호문화교류주의의 근간이 되는 자국의 문화와 미학을 연기에 담아낼 수 있어야 한다는 말이기도 하다. 따라서 배우가 자국의 문화와 예술을 담아낼 수 있는 몸짓과 소리미학 능력을 갖추는 것은 연기의 문화적 정체성을 획득하는데 있어서도 필수 불가결한 것이라 할 수 있겠다. 그 중에서도 미학적인 소리의 습득을 위하여 판소리의 발성원리와 발성법, 수련방법의 적용 및 응용 방법을 제시하는 것은 배우의 연기술에 문화적, 예술적 정체성을 획득하도록 돕는 일이 된다. 본고에서는 오늘날 세계적으로 가장 널리 알려진 서구의 발성이론과 훈련법을 토대로 판소리의 발성원리와 발성법, 수련기법을 분석하여 배우의 미학적 발성을 위한 활용방안을 모색하였다.

연기접근 방법론으로서 스타니슬라브스키의 '신체적 행동'의 효용성 (Usefulness of Stanislavski's 'Physical Action' as a Method to Approach to Acting)

  • 오늘날의 연기접근 방식은 스타니슬라브스키의 초기이론에서 크게 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 그러나 배우의 내면세계를 강조하는 이러한 접근방법은 배우를 종종 힘들게 하고 좌절시킨다. 스타니슬라브스키는 배우의 고통을 지켜보면서 '배우가 연기에 좀 더 쉽게 접근하는 방법은 없을까?'를 평생 연구한다. 그리고 마침내 말년에 이르러 행동을 통해 정서에 접근하는 이른바 '신체적 행동'의 방법론을 창안하게 된다. 정서는 마음대로 다룰 수 없는 것이지만, 행동은 누구나 다룰 수 있는 성질의 것이어서, 스타니슬라브스키의 '신체적 행동'은 배우가 어려워하는 부분을 획기적으로 개선시킨 방법론이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 너무 뒤늦게 서방세계에 알려져 크게 활용되지는 못한다. 본 연구는 근래에 다시 각광받기 시작한 스타니슬라브스키의 '신체적 행동'을 연구 참여자들과 함께 직접 경험해 보고, 그들의 의견과 연구자의 관찰을 통하여 연기접근 방법론으로서 '신체적 행동'의 효용성을 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 기존의 접근방식을 보완할 수 있는 방법론으로서 충분한 가치가 있으며, 연기의 본질적인 면에서도 여러 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.
