  • This paper proposes a unit commitment scheduling method based on Parallel Genetic Algorithm(PGA). Due to a variety of constraints to be satisfied, such as the minimum up and down time constraints, the search space of the UC problem is highly nonconvex. So, we used transputer which is one of the practical parallel processors. It can give us fastness and effectiveness features of the proposed method for solving the problem. To show the effectiveness of the PGA based unit commitment scheduling, we tested results for system of 5 units and we can get desirable results.

  • A new fifth-order weighted Runge-Kutta algorithm based on heronian mean for solving initial value problem in ordinary differential equations is considered in this paper. Comparisons in terms of numerical accuracy and size of the stability region between new proposed Runge-Kutta(5,5) algorithm, Runge-Kutta (5,5) based on Harmonic Mean, Runge-Kutta(5,5) based on Contra Harmonic Mean and Runge-Kutta(5,5) based on Geometric Mean are carried out as well. The problems, methods and comparison criteria are specified very carefully. Numerical experiments show that the new algorithm performs better than other three methods in solving variety of initial value problems. The error analysis is discussed and stability polynomials and regions have also been presented.

  • 고등학교 영재학급의 학생들의 수준과 능력에 적절한 교수 학습 프로그램 개발에 대한 연구와 영재프로그램에 참여한 학생들에 대한 과정 평가의 필요성에 기반하여 본 연구는 수학 영재 학생들의 문제해결 과정에서 발현되는 창의성을 과정 중심으로 평가할 수 있는 교수 학습 사례를 제시하였다. 수학 교수 학습 소프트웨어의 일종인 GeoGebra를 활용하여 학생들이 도형을 작도하는 과정에서 GeoGebra의 인터페이스의 사용과 대수적 계산을 병행하여 다양하고 창의적 방법으로 도형을 작도하는 과정을 분석하였다. GeoGebra의 '구성단계'와 '구성단계 네비게이션 바' 기능을 활용하여 학생 개개인이 작도 과정에서 사용한 명령어, 실행 과정 및 실행 횟수를 확인하고, 이 과정에서 발견되어지는 학생들의 창의성을 도출하였다. 이를 학생 개개인의 고등학교 교육과정에 대한 선행 정도와 비교 분석하여 이러한 교수 학습 방법이 교육청 단위로 선발하는 영재교육원 뿐만 아니라 단위학교 영재학급에서도 적용 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • 통계적 문제해결 과정에서 자료 수집은 통계 정보의 질을 결정하는 중요한 절차이지만, 우리나라의 수학과 교육과정에서는 자료 수집이 다소 소홀하게 다루어져 왔다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초등학교 3~4학년 수학 교과서(국정 1종, 검정 10종)의 통계 단원에서 사용되는 자료의 수집 방법은 어떠한지, 그리고 통계 단원을 통해 자료 수집 방법을 어떻게 지도하고 있는지를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 교과서에서 사용하고 있는 자료들은 설문조사, 실험/관찰, 문헌조사 등 다양한 방법으로 수집된 것들이었으나, 교과서에서 지도하고 있는 자료 수집 방법 중 실험/관찰의 비중은 매우 낮게 나타났다. 또한, 교과서별로 자료 수집 방법 지도 방식이 다르게 나타남으로 인해 학생들이 경험, 학습하게 되는 내용에 차이가 발생할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 초등학교 통계교육에서 자료 수집 방법을 효과적으로 지도할 수 있도록 수학과 교육과정 개선 방안을 모색하기 위한 논의점을 도출하였다.

스마트 테크놀로지를 활용한 팀 기반 학습 모형 설계 연구 (Designing an Instructional Model for Smart Technology-Enhanced Team-Based Learning)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 스마트 테크놀로지를 활용한 팀 기반 학습(Smart technology-enhanced Team-Based Learning, S-TBL) 모형 설계를 위한 디자인 원칙과 S-TBL의 개요, 절차 및 활동을 개념화하는 것이다. 이를 위해 기존의 팀 기반 학습(Team-Based Learning, TBL) 모형을 기반으로 모바일 테크놀로지, 협력학습, 문제해결학습과 다양한 평가 모형들을 종합한 학습 모형을 설계하였다. 기존의 TBL 모형을 기반으로 스마트 테크놀로지 학습 환경에서 적용 가능한 학습 모형을 설계함에 있어 1) 학습 자원, 평가 도구, 문제해결상황과 문제해결과정을 통합하는 총체적인 학습 환경을 제공하고, 2) 팀 구성원 간 및 교수자와 학습자 간 협력과 커뮤니케이션을 증대시킬 수 있는 환경 개발에 중점을 두었다. 이러한 S-TBL 모형은 1) 개별 학습과 협력적인 팀 학습을 통합하고, 2) 개념 학습과 문제해결 및 비판적 사고력 신장을 위한 학습을 통합하며, 3) 개별 평가와 그룹 평가를 통합하고, 4) 자기주도적 학습과 강의식 설명 학습을 통합하고, 5) 개인적 성찰과 산출물의 공유를 통합할 수 있도록 설계되었다.

운영단계 안전중시시스템에서 제기되는 설계변경요구에 대해 아키텍처 DB의 추적성을 통한 변경프로세스의 개선 (On Coping with the Design Change Request by Utilizing DB Traceability in the Operational Phase of Safety-critical Weapon Systems)

  • The environment and requirements of modern war fields have been affected and thus changed by a variety of issues. To this end, the development of safety-critical weapon systems frequently need to meet those changes even in the operational phase. The necessity of the changes may be due to the preparation for mass-production or the request originated from the user military forces. To meet such a need can be even tougher in the development of safety-critical weapon systems since the integration of the requirements for both systems design and systems safety would make it troublesome. To handel the matter in this paper, utilization of architecture DB is proposed. Specifically, the situation in demand has first been analyzed and then a problem-solving process to accommodate the design changes has been constructed. In doing so, the concept of the aforementioned integration is particularly focused on the functional architecture, which could be a core concept of our approach to solving the problem. The result of a case study demonstrating the method studied using a computer-aided systems engineering tool is also presented.

공리설계 적용 의류업의 eCRM 운영 방안 연구 (A Study on eCRM Operation of Apparel Industry Using Axiom Design)

  • With ever-change and increasingly competitive business environments, firms strive to employ a variety of marketing strategies and execution in order to survive in the market. Such effects would be paid off in the right way only when management of the firms perform marketing activities focusing on long term effectiveness, which would drive company profits up and keep them for long. Demands of customers are being changed and varied. And in this circumstance, it become a main issue of management that the company should produce and sell products according to the customer demands. With these trends, each company has been concentrating effects on generalization of product development technique and distinction of service for customer. In this result with the advantage of mass marketing and database marketing have been drawing attentions from company. Also the internet connected around the world completely diminished the limit of time and distance and company have enveloped keen competition out of each nation and continent in the world market. To fulfill these demands of customer, they need a concept of eCRM(Web based Customer Relationship Management), and go from selling products and services, or gathering customer requests, up to the phase of solving customer's problem by real time or previous action. With the help of internet, the frequency and speed of the problem solving has improved greatly.

Emerging Role of Primary Leader in Group Interaction with Mechanics Problems During Upper-level Mechanics Course

  • According to social constructivism, group interaction is very important when students construct their knowledge. Many researchers have developed methods of teaching on the basis of group interaction because they recognized the importance of group interaction. There are a large variety of issues related to group interaction including group size, the gender and ability composition of groups, seating arrangements, textbook use, gestures, and role assignments. However, research on group interaction in science learning is still insufficient. In this study, we focused upon the emerging role of the primary leader. We investigated the primary leader's diverse role when students are solving mechanics problems. The participants were one group composed of three students in an upper-level mechanics class. To analyze these students' group interactions, their verbal interactions during meetings were videotaped and audiotaped during one-semester period. We also conducted interviews with the three students and analyzed their reports. As a result, we could find a special student who had the role of primary leader. We could also find the leader's three different leadership roles in different problem situations by inductively; explainer, facilitator and evaluator. Group interaction had different aspect according to the different role of leaders. The group interactions were the most active when the leader played the role of facilitator.

Teaching the Derivation of Area Formulas for Polygonal Regions through Dissection-Motion-Operations (DMO): A Visual Reasoning Approach

  • Utilizing a structure of operations known as Dissection-Motion-Operations (DMO), a set of mathematics propositions or area-formulas in school mathematics will be introduced through shape-to-shape transforms. The underlying theme for DMO is problem-solving through visual reasoning and proving manipulatively or electronically vs. rote learning and memorization. Visual reasoning is the focus here where two operations that constitute DMO are utilized. One operation is known as Dissection (or Decomposition) operation that operates on a given region in 2D or 3D and dissects it into a number of subregions. The second operation is known as Motion (or Composition) operation applied on the resultant sub-regions to form a distinct area (or volume)-equivalent region. In 2D for example, DMO can transform a given polygon into a variety of new and distinct polygons each of which is area-equivalent to the original polygon (cf [Rahim, M. H. & Sawada, D. (1986).
