An X-ray Image Panorama System Using Robust Feature Matching and Per ception-Based Image Enhancement

  • This paper presents an x-ray medical image panorama system which can overcome the smallness of the images that exist on a source computer during remote medical processing. In the system, after the standard medical image format DICOM is converted to the PC standard image format, a MSR algorithm is used to enhance X-ray images of low quality. Then SURF and Multi-band blending are applied to generate a panoramic image. Also, this paper evaluates the proposed SURF based system through the average gray value error and image quality criterion with X-ray image data by comparing with a SIFT based system. The results show that the proposed system is superior to SIFT based system in image quality.

Virtual Reality Image Shooting for Single Person Broadcasting with Multiple Smartphones

  • Nowadays, one-person media broadcasting has become popular, and with the progress of this popularity, multimedia techniques which can support such broadcasting are also becoming more and more advanced. One of the most emerging multimedia technique used in this field is the virtual reality technology which sets the one-person media broadcasting environment as a virtual reality environment. However, as such an environment requires instruments of high cost, it is not easy for normal individuals to constitute such environments. Therefore, in this paper we propose how to construct virtual reality-like panoramas with a multiple of smartphones. For this purpose, we designed a special rig which can hold firmly 8 smartphone cameras which have overlapping view of the environment such that panorama stitching becomes possible. To reduce the computation cost, we precomputed the homography matrices, and used 1-D pointer structures to store the computed coordinate values.

An Experimental Study of Radiographic Density of Alveolar Bone and Cortical Thickness of Mandible by Osteoporosis (골다공증에 따른 치조골 방사선사진농도와 하악하연두께의 변화에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: To evaluate the effect of the systemic osteoporosis on radiographic density of alveolar bone and cortical thickness of mandible. Materials and Methods: The bone mineral density values of lumbar and femur were measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and T scores of lumbar, femur were obtained respectively. Radiographic densities of alveolar bones and panorama mandibular index (PMI, represents as cortical thickness) were analysed statistically according to age and T score variables. Results: The radiographic density of alveolar bone of maxillary molar showed significant difference by age and femur T group. That of mandibular molar showed significant difference between femur T group. Panorama mandibular index showed significant difference between age groups. Conclusion: The radiographic density of alvealar bones was more dependent on age and femur T than lumbar T. Cortical thickness of mandible was correlated with increasing age.

Multi-camera based Images through Feature Points Algorithm for HDR Panorama

  • With the spread of various kinds of cameras such as digital cameras and DSLR and a growing interest in high-definition and high-resolution images, a method that synthesizes multiple images is being studied among various methods. High Dynamic Range (HDR) images store light exposure with even wider range of number than normal digital images. Therefore, it can store the intensity of light inherent in specific scenes expressed by light sources in real life quite accurately. This study suggests feature points synthesis algorithm to improve the performance of HDR panorama recognition method (algorithm) at recognition and coordination level through classifying the feature points for image recognition using more than one multi frames.

  • One of the main research trends in image based modeling and rendering is how to implement plenoptic function. For this purpose, this paper proposes a novel approach based on a set of randomly placed panoramas. The proposed approach, first of all, adopts a simple computer vision technique to approximate omni-directional depth information of the surrounding scene, and then corrects/interpolates panorama images to generate an output image at a vantage viewpoint. Implementation results show that the proposed approach achieves smooth navigation at an interactive rate.

A study of flow structure of bichromatic waves through PIV analysis

  • An experimental study was carried out in order to understand the kinematics of bichromatic waves. Bichromatic waves are generated in a two-dimensional wave tank, and measured by panorama PIV technique, which allows the flow fields to be captured with respect to a spatial coordinate system. We compared wave profiles and velocities of wave particles obtained by experiment with theoretical results using Stokes 1st and 2nd order waves. The velocity distribution at wave crest and trough of the highest and lowest point of a bichromatic wave are investigated in this study.

  • 다중의 영상을 이용하여 하나의 파노라마 영상을 제작하는 기법은 컴퓨터 비전, 컴퓨터 그래픽스 등과 같은 여러 분야에서 널리 연구되고 있다. 파노라마 영상은 하나의 카메라에서 얻을 수 있는 영상의 한계, 즉 예를 들어 화각, 화질, 정보량 등의 한계를 극복할 수 있는 좋은 방법으로서 가상현실, 로봇비전 등과 같이 광각의 영상이 요구되는 다양한 분야에서 응용될 수 있다. 파노라마 영상은 단일 영상과 비교하여 보다 큰 몰입감을 제공한다는 점에서 큰 의미를 갖는다. 현재 다양한 파노라마 영상 제작 기법들이 존재하지만, 대부분의 기법들이 공통적으로 파노라마 영상을 구성할 때 각 영상에 존재하는 특징점 및 대응점을 검출하는 방식을 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서 사용한 SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features) 알고리즘은 영상의 특징점을 검출할 때 영상의 흑백정보와 지역 공간 정보를 활용하는데, 영상의 크기 변화와 시점 검출에 강하며 SIFT(Scale Invariant Features Transform) 알고리즘에 비해 속도가 빠르다는 장점이 있어서 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 두 영상 사이 또는 하나의 영상과 여러 영상 사이에 대응되는 매칭을 계산하여 파노라마영상을 생성하는 처리 방법을 구현하고 기술하였다.

  • In this paper, have necessity of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) at hospital but hereafter by economical problem PACS apply this to medical treatment image enhancing image quality applying histogram equalization for improvement of light and darkness after reconstruct because make image that pretreatment filtering has wild picture and is processed in wave lets dissolution and wave lets area using weight median filter because could not buy expensive equipment at hospital which introduction is difficulty do inversion and extracted characteristic.

  • 가로 공원 건축물의 외벽 그 밖에 공중에게 개방된 장소에 항시 전시하는 경우에는 파노라마의 자유(freedom of panorama)라는 원칙에 의거하여 몇 가지 예외를 제외한다면 그 저작물을 복제하여 자유롭게 이용할 수 있지만, 개방된 장소라고 하더라도 건물의 내부에 전시되어 있는 경우에는 영상저작물에 타인의 저작물이 복제되어 상영되는 경우에는 저작권 침해가 되는 것이 현대 사회 저작권법의 원칙으로 인정되고 있다. 그러나 제작자 및 감독들은 이러한 저작권법의 원칙을 인지하지 못하여 영상저작물을 제작할 때 이러한 법원칙을 고려하지 못하여 타인의 저작물(미술저작물 및 음악저작물) 등이 그 영상저작물에 삽입되는 경우가 자주 발생하고 있고, 이에 따라 저작권 침해 소송이 최근에 발생하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 우리나라 저작권법 제35조 제2항과 관련된 판례들을 분석하여 영상제작자들에게 주의를 하고자 한다.
