  • This study was carried out to investigate the flora of Oeumsan Mountain (Hongcheon-gun and Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do) from March of 2016 to September of 2017. The vascular plants were summarized into 509 taxa, including 98 families, 301 genera, 436 species, 4 subspecies, 57 varieties and 12 forms. Among the 509 investigated taxa, 9 Korean endemic, 1 endangered plant, 8 rare plants and 57 floristic regional indicator plants were also included. The naturalized plants encompassed 35 taxa. The percentage of naturalized plants species and the urbanization index were estimated to be 6.9% and 10.9%, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study was conducted in order to provide the necessary basic data, to establish management solutions and to improve biodiversity by calculating similarity index, urbanization index (UI), and disturbed index (DI) to understand current status of naturalized and invasive alien plants in Eulsukdo, Maekdo and Samnak ecological parks in Busan, South Korea. The numbers of naturalized plants identified in these parks were 76 taxa; 20 families, 53 genera, and 76 species. As a result of the similarity index analysis, the most similarity level (83.0%) was obtained at Eulsukdo and Maekdo parks. The numbers of invasive plants identified in the two parks were 11 taxa; Rumex acetosella L., Sicyos angulatus L., Solanum carolinense L., Ambrosia artemisiifolia L., Ambrosia trifida L., Hypochaeris radicata L., Lactuca serriola L., Solidago altissima L., Symphyotrichum pilosum (Willd.) G.L.Nesom, Paspalum distichum L., and Humulus scandens (Lour.) Merr. Overall, UI and DI were 28.6% and 66.7%, respectively, indicating that the ecosystem disruption was serious.

  • Two naturalized plants of Lespedeza from Korea are reported. L. lichiyuniae T. Nemoto, H. Ohashi & T. Itoh is similar to L. cuneata (Dum. Cours.) G. Don. and L. juncea (L. .f.) Pers. in morphology, but the species differs from them by pink or purple flowers and the under surface of leaflets and cleistogamous pods with densely hairs. L. davidii Franchet is distinguished by distinctly large leaflets from the other Korean Lespedeza and by plants covered with densely tomentose hairs from the Korean species of subgenus Macrolespedeza. In Korea two plants are found on the parks or roads prepared recently.

  • According to the survey map, the altitudes of up and down the Ansungchon were 242m and 49m accordingly. The width of the river was 4m at upperstream and became wider, lam at midstream and 114m at downstream. Water pH of the Ansungchon was measured variously in the range of 6.0-7.9 according to the surveyed times and areas. The water pH measured during June through August decreased continually and suddenly increased at the end of October. Phragmites iaponica, a major species of the fresh water emergent anchored hydrophytes, was surveyed mostly in the area of upperstream, Phragmites communis, Miscanthus sacchariflorus and Typha orientalis were surveyed in the areas of midstream and downstream, and Zizania latifolia was found in all areas of the river. The total of 101 taxa dividing into 32 families, 71 genera, 88 species, and 13 varieties have been inhabited in these areas. Among the inhabited plants, Poaceae was 21.8%, which appeared in the highest percent. Compositae was 20.8%, and Polygonaceae was 11.9%. In the surveyed areas, herbaceous plants were 95.1% and mostly occupied, and woody plants were 4.9%. Among the herbaceous plants, perennial plants were 52.5%, and annual and biannual plants were 28.7% and 13.9% accordingly. Naturalized plants dividing into 8 families and 18 genera have been found in the surveyed areas. The number of the naturalized plants increased from upperstream to downstream as the environmental disruption became worse. Only 2.5% of the total naturalized plants were appeared in up, 17.7% in midstream, and 28.6% in downstream. Shannon-Weiner's index for the degree of diversity was 2.898-3.666 in the area of upperstream, but 3.708-4.135 in downstream, which was little higher.

  • The main purpose of this study is to select the appropriate wild plants on the rooftop. For the purpose of the experiments, 14 wild plants(12 korean native wild plants and 2 naturalized wild plants) were chosen. As the results of the experiments, the wild plants growing on the culture soil(perlite) Among the 14 kinds of wild plants, such as Chrysanthemum boreale, Taraxacum mongolicum, Aster Koraiensis, Aster yomena, Oenothera odorata, Oenothera lamarckiana, Patrinia scabiosaefolia showed good effects on growth of above ground parts. Therefore, these plants will effective for the rooftop revegation. Callistephus chinensis and Lotus corniculatus var. Japonicus showed good height growth, wherase covering rate was worst. Chrysanthemum boreale, Platycodon grandiflorum, Patrinia scabiosaefolia were plant height, wherase covering rate was not good. As the results of the experiments, the wild plants growing on the culture soil(vermiculite) Taraxacum mongolicum, Aster Koraiensis, Oenothera lamarckiana, Aster yomena showed good effects on growth of above ground parts. Consequently, korean native wild plants such as Taraxacum mongolicum, Aster Koraiensis, Aster yomena and naturalized wild plants such as Oenothera odorata, Oenothera lamarckiana were effective wild plants for rooftop revegetation.

The endangered wild plants were recorded as 2 taxa (Paeonia obovata and Lilium cernuum) and the Korean endemic plants were observed to exist in the formation of 21 taxa, 13 families, 19 genera, 15 species, 4 varieties and 2 forms including Cephalotaxus koreana, Pseudostellaria coreana, Aconitum pseudo-laeve, Clematis trichotoma, Geranium koreanum for. hirsutum, Thalictrum uchiyamai. The floristic special plants consist of 55 taxa, 35 families, 50 genera, 51 species, 4 varieties(Crypsinus hastatus, Cimicifuga heracleifolia, Paeonia obovata, Lilium cernuum and Gastrodia elata etc.). The naturalized plants comprise 10 taxa, 4 families, 10 genera, 9 species and 1 variety. The ratio of Urbanization and Naturalized Index was 3.51% and 2.46%, respectively. Life form spectra were displayed as H-R5-D4-e type.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the flora of Mt. Byeollipsan (Ganghwa-gun). The vascular plants from 13 field surveys were revealed to total of 574 taxa; 116 families, 355 genera, 505 species, 8 subspecies, 52 varieties, 7 forms and 2 hybrids. A high plant diversity were Asteraceae (12.3%), Poaceae (10.6%), Cyperaceae (6.1%), Fabaceae (4.5%) and Rosaceae (4.2%) in regular order. The seven taxa of Korean endemic plants such as Clematis brachyura, Viola seoulensis, Populus × tomentiglandulosa, Salix koriyanagi, Ajuga multiflora f. rosea, Hemerocallis hakuunensis and Polygonatum infundiflorum were collected. The red data of vascular plants according to IUCN valuation basis were examined five taxa; Least Concern (LC) species of both Phacelurus latifolius and Belamcanda chinensis, Not Evaluate (NE) species of Lithospermum arvense, Scorzonera austriaca ssp. glabra and Polygonatum infundiflorum. The floristic regional indicator plants found in this area were 34 taxa comprising one taxa of degree IV, six taxa of degree III, 11 taxa of degree II, and 16 taxa of degree I. In addition, the naturalized plants were identified as 46 taxa and the percent of naturalized index (NI) was 8.0%, Urbanization Index (UI) was 14.3%, respectively.
