The study explored the work-life balance of three dual-earning couples using the household economics approach according to the hermeneutics paradigm. Three families were analysed. The couples were interviewed individually with a non-structural interview guide about their work history and life history, and with a semi-structured interview and structured questionnaire about their work hours, childcare practice, husband-wife relation, household income and expenditure, and daily and weekly schedule. The results revealed the different paths and various strategies to adjust work-life balance among the cases. Strategies were discussed to facilitate changes in labor market policy, childcare policy, working place culture and family's daily life planning.

The purposes of this study was to find aesthetical-ethical paradigm of care ethics by understanding the unique moral character of care as an art and to suggest the optimal direction of nursing ethics. Method: This study used meaning-heuristic and -interpretive methods of hermeneutics based on philosophical aesthetic theory; Baumgarten's aesthetics, Schiller's theory of aesthetical education and Kant's theory of aesthetical judgement. Result: The concept of care implied aesthetical and ethical character; caring as an art was related to moral feeling based on human dignity und emotional communication in interpersonal-relationship. Caring as an art was interpreted as a moral ideal for the promotion of the humanity und the interaction in personal-relationship according to nursing theories. Philosophical aesthetics could provide the theoretical base for the interpretation of caring as an art. The proper paradigm of care ethics in nursing could be found in character-trait ethics and communication ethics according to the philosophical aesthetics. Conclusion: This study could show aesthetical-ethical paradigm of care ethics in nursing by the heuristic interpretation of caring as an art according to the philosophical aesthetics

본 연구는 사회복지를 포함한 사회과학의 존재론적 인식론적 이분화에 대해 비판하면서 그에 대한 대안으로서 비판적 실재론의 가능성을 탐색해본다. 사회복지이론은 '행위주체'와 '사회구조'의 이분화된 존재론적 입장을 고수해왔고 그것을 통합하고자 하는 생태체계적 관점이 지배적이었으며, 이와 같은 이론적 입장은 사회복지실천영역에도 영향을 미쳐왔다. 한편, '실증주의'와 '구성주의'로 이분화된 인식론적 관점 또한 현상을 바라보는 서로 다른 입장으로서 사회복지이론연구와 실천방법에 영향을 미쳐왔다. 이 같은 이분화된 존재론적 인식론적 관점은 행위주체와 사회구조 간 관계의 질적인 속성을 드러내고 사회 내 심층적 실재에서의 기제 작동, 그리고 인식주체와 무관한 실재에 대한 사유에 있어 한계를 가질 수 밖에 없다. 이에 대해 비판적 실재론은 층화된 실재, 과학의 대상으로 자동적 차원과 타동적 차원, 그 안에서 이루어지는 이중의 해석과 개념화의 조건들, 그리고 구조의 이중성과 실천의 이중성, 변형적 사회활동모델 등의 논의를 통해 대안적 사회복지패러다임으로서 새로운 가능성을 보여준다.
