K-Nearest Neighbor Associative Memory with Reconfigurable Word-Parallel Architecture

  • IC-implementations provide high performance for solving the high computational cost of pattern matching but have relative low flexibility for satisfying different applications. In this paper, we report an associative memory architecture for k nearest neighbor (KNN) search, which is one of the most basic algorithms in pattern matching. The designed architecture features reconfigurable vector-component parallelism enabled by programmable switching circuits between vector components, and a dedicated majority vote circuit. In addition, the main time-consuming part of KNN is solved by a clock mapping concept based weighted frequency dividers that drastically reduce the in principle exponential increase of the worst-case search-clock number with the bit width of vector components to only a linear increase. A test chip in 180 nm CMOS technology, which has 32 rows, 8 parallel 8-bit vector-components in each row, consumes altogether in peak 61.4 mW and only 11.9 mW for nearest squared Euclidean distance search (at 45.58 MHz and 1.8 V).

예비교사와 현직교사의 벡터 개념에 대한 이해: MKT 중심으로 (Pre-service and In-service Teachers' MKT about the Concept of Vector)

  • 본 연구는 벡터 개념에 대해 예비교사와 현직교사가 어떻게 이해하고 있는가를 밝히는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 이에 벡터 개념에 대한 예비교사와 현직교사의 가르치기 위한 수학적 지식(MKT)을 알아보고자 한다. 설문지와 인터뷰 조사 결과 예비교사와 현직교사 모두 벡터 자체가 되는 것보다 벡터의 표현수단을 벡터로 보는 경향이 있었으며 예비교사는 상대적으로 벡터를 벡터공간의 원소로 보는 대학교 수준의 공통내용지식(CCK)으로 응답했던 반면, 현직교사는 가르치는 상황에 필요한 특수 내용지식(SCK)과 내용과 가르치는 것에 대한 지식(KCT)으로 응답하고 있었다. 본 연구는 이를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 벡터 개념에 대한 CCK, SCK, KCT와 수평내용지식 (Horizon content knowledge)을 도출하였다. 또한 논의된 벡터 개념에 대한 MKT를 바탕으로 MKT 하위 영역 간의 관련성에 대해서도 살펴보았다.

Coflow-Counterflow 개념을 이용한 추력벡터 노즐에서 발생하는 유동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Thrust-Vectoring Nozzle Flow Using Coflow-Counterflow Concept)

  • Thrust vector control using a coflow-counterflow concept is achieved by suction and blowing through a slot adjacent to a primary jet which is shrouded by a suction collar. In the present study, the flow characteristics of thrust vectoring is investigated using a numerical method. The nozzle has a design Mach number of 2.0, and the operation pressure ratio is varied to obtain various flow features of the nozzle flow. Test conditions are in the range of the nozzle pressure ratio from 6.0 to 10.0, and a suction pressure from 90kPa to 35kPa. Two-dimensional, compressible Navier-Stokes computations are conducted with RNG ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. The computational results provide an understanding of the detailed physics of the thrust vectoring process. It is found that an increase in the nozzle pressure ratio leads to increased thrust efficiency but reduces the thrust vector angle.

Counterflow 개념을 이용한 추력벡터 제어에 관한 실험적 및 수치해석적 연구 (Experimental and Computational Studies of the Fluidic Thrust Vector Control Using a Counterflow Concept)

  • Experimental and computational studies were performed to investigate the effectiveness of a thrust vectoring method using a counterflow concept. A shadowgraph method was used to visualize the supersonic jet expanded from a two-dimensional convergent-divergent nozzle and deflected by a now suction. The primary nozzle pressure and suction nozzle pressure ratios are varied between 3.0 and 5.0, and between 0.2 and 1.0 respectively. The present experimental and computational results showed that, for a given primary nozzle pressure ratio, a decrease in the suction nozzle pressure ratio produced an increased thrust vector angle, and during the change processes of the suction pressure, a hysteresis effect of the thrust vectoring was found through the wall pressure distributions.

A Coupled-Line Type Waveguide Bandpass Filter using Normalized Impedance Concept

  • In this paper, a coupled-line type waveguide bandpass filter is newly proposed. The proposed bandpass filter configuration consists of magnetically coupled waveguide cavities. In order to show the background of the proposed waveguide bandpass filter, the general coupled line TEM bandpass filter theory, which means the coupled line filter with arbitrary coupled line length and impedance level, will be briefly introduced. Calculations for the even- and odd-mode wave impedance of a coupled line waveguide structure are achieved based on the normalized impedance concept for a broad-side coupled waveguides by using vector finite element method(VFEM) calculation. Measured result of an implemented coupled-line type waveguide filter is presented.

FSVQ와 퍼지 개념을 이용한 HMM에 기초를 둔 음성 인식 (HMM-based Speech Recognition using FSVQ and Fuzzy Concept)

  • 본 논문은 FSVQ(first section vector quantization)와 퍼지 개념을 이용한 HMM(hidden Markov model)에 기초를 둔 음성인식을 제안한다. 제안된 연구 방법에서는 첫 번째 구간의 코드북(codebook)을 만든 후, 첫 번째 구간의 코드북으로부터, 퍼지 개념을 도입하여 확률값이 큰 순서에 의해 다중 관측열을 구한다. 그 다음, 코드북으로부터 첫 번째 구간의 관측열을 학습시키고 인식할 때에도 같은 개념으로 첫 번째 구간에서의 확률 값이 가장 높은 단어를 인식된 단어로 선택한다. 인식 대상 어휘로는 전철역명을 선택하였으며, 특징 파라메타로는 LPC ?스트럼을 사용하였다. 제안된 방법에 의한 인식 실험을 수행하는 것 이외에도 비교를 위하여 이전에 실험한 몇 가지 방법의 인식 실험을 같은 조건하에서 같은 데이터로 수행한다. 실험 결과, 본 연구에서 제안한 FSVQ와 퍼지 개념을 이용한 HMM에 기초를 둔 방법이 다른 음성 인식방법들보다 인식률이 우수함을 입증하였다.

  • 고체모터 추력제어를 위한 플렉시블 셀 개념 설계를 수행하였다. 개념 설계를 통해 플렉시블 씰의 구동 점 위치, 플렉시블 씰의 형상, 고무 및 보강재 소재를 결정하였으며, 연소가스로부터 플렉시블 씰을 보호하기 위한 적절한 열 차폐 시스템을 선정하였다. 플렉시블 씰의 회전 중심은 노즐 후방에 위치하며, 단면 형상은 원뿔형 으로 설계하였다. 노즐의 구동 토크를 만족하기 위해 고무의 전단 계수는 약 0.6MPa 이하가 되도록 개발 하였으며, 전단 응력은 2.5MPa 이상이다.

  • For kinematically redundant manipulators, conventional dynamic control methods of local torque optimization showed the instability which resulted in physically unachievable torque requirements. In order to guarantee stability of the null space vector method which resolves redundancy at the acceleration level, Maciejewski[1] analyzed the kinetic behavior of homogeneous solution component and proposed the condition to identify regions of stability and instability for this method. 'In this paper, a modified null space vector method is first presented based on the Maciejewski's condition which is a function of a manipulator's configuration. Secondly, a new control method which is based on the concept of aspects is proposed. It was shown by computer simulations that the modified null space vector method and the proposed method have a common property that a preferred aspect is preserved during the execution of a task. It was also illustrated that both methods demonstrate a drastic reduction of torque loadings at the joints in the tracking motion of a long trajectory when compared with the null space vector method, and thus guarantee the stability of joint torque.

  • Recently, fluidic thrust vectoring methods have been preferably employed to control the movement of propulsive systems due to relatively simpler design and lower cost than mechanical thrust vectoring methods. For An application of the thrust vectoring to flight bodies, it is necessary to understand very complicated exhaust flows which are often subject to shock waves and boundary layer separation. But researches for the thrust vector control using counterflow have been few. In the present study, experiments have been performed to investigate the characteristics of supersonic jets controlled by a thrust vectoring method using counterflow. The primary jet is expanded through a two-dimensional primary nozzle shrouded by collars, and is deflected by the suction of the air near nozzle into an upper slot placed between the primary nozzle and the upper collar. A shadowgraph method is used to visualize the supersonic jet flowfields. Primary nozzle pressure ratios and suction nozzle pressure ratios are varied from 3.0 to 5.0, and from 0.2 to 1.0 respectively. The present experimental results showed that, for a given primary nozzle pressure ratio, a decrease in the suction nozzle pressure ratio produced an increased thrust vector angle. As the suction nozzle pressure ratios were increased and decreased, the hysteresis of the thrust vectoring was observed through the wall pressure distributions

예측 VQ-Pyramid VQ를 이용한 광대역 음성용 LSF 양자학기 설계 (A LSF Quantizer for the Wideband Speech Using the Predictive VQ-Pyramid VQ)

  • 본 논문에서는 벡터 양자화기와 피라미드 벡터 양자화기를 직렬로 결합하여 16차 벡터 소스에 대한 vector quantizer-pyramid vector quantizer (VQ-PVQ)를 개발하였으며, 예측 구조와 세이프티-넷 (safety-net) 개념을 결합시켜 광대역 음성 부호화기용 LPC 계수 양자화 기를 설계하였다. 본 양자화기의 성능은 AMR-WB(ITRT-T G.722.2)의 LPC양자화기 성능과 비교하였는데, 스펙트럼 왜곡 및 메모리 요구량에서 상당한 이득을 얻었다.
