AL 박육부재의 에너지 흡수 제어특성 (Energy Absorbing Control Characteristic of Al Thin-walled Tubes)

  • The structural members must be designed to control characteristics of energy absorption for protecting passengers in a car accident. Study on collapse characteristics of structural member is currently conducted in parallel with other studies on effective energy absorption capacity of structural members with diverse cross-sectional shapes and various materials. This study concerns the crashworthiness of the widely used vehicle structural members, square thin-walled tubes, which are excellent in the point of the energy absorption capacity. The absorbed energy, mean collapse load and deformation mode were analyzed for side member which absorbs most of the collision energy. To predict and control the energy absorption, controller is designed in consideration of its influence on height, thickness and width ration in this study. The absorbed energy and mean collapse load of square tubes were increased by $15{\sim}20%$ in using the controller, and energy absorbing capability of the specimen was slightly changed by change of the high controller's height.

트러스 구조물 내 손상부위 추적에 관한 실험적 검증 (Experimental Verification of Nondestructive Damage Detection in a Truss Structure)

  • 본 논문에서는 모드형상을 이용한 트러스 구조물의 손상탐지 방법을 소개하였다. 트러스 부재에 대한 손상탐지 이론은 손상 전과 손상 후의 모달 변형에너지의 차이점을 이용하여 정립하였으며, 이론의 타당성을 조사하기 위하여 1:6 축척의 6각형 트러스 구조물의 실험 데이터에 이론을 적용하였다. 손상 실험은 총 17가지의 시나리오로 구성되어 있으며, 손상 타입은 3가지로 구성되어있다. 17가지 실험 데이터에 대한 손상평가 결과, 본 연구에서 제안한 방법으로 트러스 부재의 손상을 성공적으로 탐지할 수 있었으며, 비교적 작은 손상의 경우 계측 데이터의 노이즈가 손상탐지 성능에 많은 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인하였다.

전산유체역학을 이용한 직접 접촉식 히트파이프의 응축부 형상에 따른 성능비교 (Performance Comparison on the Condenser Shapes of Direct Contact Heat Pipe using CFD)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the different shapes of condenser of the direct contact heat transfer from the heat pipe condenser to the receiving water using CFD. The heat transfer from the working fluid of the heat pipe to receiving fluid flows through the manifolder is one of the important part in evacuated solar collector system. The retrenchment of the thermal resistance between the heat pipe and the manifolder could increase the thermal performances of the whole system. Recently, direct heat transfer from the heat pipe condenser wall to the receiving water was suggested and accompanied experiments were achieved. This experiment shows the better performances of the direct contact heat transfer analogically. Preceding calculations are carried out for the performance comparison: mesh dependence test, discretization method test and equation model test. with these preceding tests, 4 different shapes of condenser are compared and each case were set up for the same heat flux at the condenser wall. The calculation result shows that the efficiency of the extended surface condenser shape is 10% higher then the that of the others.

인볼류우트 커터인선의 초기결손 예측에 관한 연구 (Study on the Analytical Prediction of Premier Chipping in Involute Gear Cutting Process)

  • 본 연구에서는 공구의 형상과 절삭조건에 따른 공구의 결손형태를 예측하기 위하여 현재 가장 널리 쓰이고 있는 인볼류우트커터의 결손형태를 절삭날의 응력분포 값으로 예측하고 실험에 의하여 검증함과 동시에 기어 절삭실험을 통한 공구 결손의 성장거동을 고찰하였으며, 또한 마멸과 결손이 발생함에 따른 절삭력의 변화와 평형을 관찰하여 상호관련성을 비교함으로써 인볼류우트 기어커터의 초기 결손을 해석적으로 예측하였다.

충돌 Jet에서 Rod 형상에 따른 유동특성의 PIV 계측에 의한 연구 (A Study on the Flow Characteristics according to the Shapes of Rod on Impinging Jet by PIV Measurement)

  • The thermal load is a very important problem to be solved in many industrial systems including the electronic equipment. Impinging Jets have been known to provide a large heat transfer rates on surface for many years. The turbulence enhancement of fluid flow is requested for the efficiency elevation of heat transfer. A study on flow fields by rods attached to the wall surface as a promoter of turbulence enhancement has been carried out. The exact analysis on chracteristics of impinging jet field is requested to obtain the optimum design of the impinging jet system. By visualizing the flow field and processing the high digital image by computer PIV can afford exact data on the velocity vector kinetic energy and turbulence intensity in the complex turbulence field. In this study. three kinds of rod shape such as square. triangle. and semicircle are selected as the turbulence promoter. Nozzle diameters are 10mm. 17mm. and 23mm. And the analysis of the flow characteristics due to the above rods is carried out at Re No. 2.000, 3.000. and 4,000 by PIV measurement. It is clarified that the rod setup is very useful to obtain the turbulence enhancement and the turbulence intensity according to the shapes of rod appears large in order of the shapes of rod such as square 〉 triangle 〉semicircle.

저속충돌조건에서 효과적인 충돌에너지흡수를 위한 알루미늄 크래쉬 박스의 비드형상 효과 (Effect of Bead Shape in Aluminum Crash Box for Effective Impact Energy Absorption Under Low- Velocity Impact Condition)

  • 알루미늄 크래쉬 박스는 저속충돌조건에서 프론트 사이드 멤버를 변형을 방지하기 위한 부품이다. 본 연구에서는 저속충돌조건에서 비드형상이 알루미늄 크래쉬 박스의 충돌성능에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. Edge concave, surface convex 와 surface concave 타입의 비드형상들에 대한 충돌해석 및 실험을 수행하여 비드가 없는 normal 타입의 알루미늄 크래쉬 박스의 충돌성능과 비교분석하였다. 충돌성능은 저속충돌조건에서 크래쉬 박스의 초기 최대하중 및 충돌에너지 흡수능으로 평가하였다. 이를 검증하기 위해 알루미늄 크래쉬 박스와 결합된 프론트 사이드 멤버에 대해 저속충돌실험 수행하고, 이를 분석하였다. Surface concave 타입의 비드가 삽입된 알루미늄 크래쉬 박스 경우, 프론트 사이드 멤버의 변형을 방지할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Buckling analysis of tapered BDFGM nano-beam under variable axial compression resting on elastic medium

  • The current study presents a new technique in the framework of the nonlocal elasticity theory for a comprehensive buckling analysis of Euler-Bernoulli nano-beams made up of bidirectional functionally graded material (BDFGM). The mechanical properties are considered by exponential and arbitrary variations for axial and transverse directions, respectively. The various circumstances including tapering, resting on two-parameter elastic foundation, step-wise or continuous variations of axial loading, various shapes of sections with various distribution laws of mechanical properties and various boundary conditions like the multi-span beams are taken into account. As far as we know, for the first time in the current work, the buckling analyses of BDFGM nano-beams are carried out under mentioned circumstances. The critical buckling loads and mode shapes are calculated by using energy method and a new technique based on calculus of variations and collocation method. Fast convergence and excellent agreement with the known data in literature, wherever possible, presents the efficiency of proposed technique. The effects of boundary conditions, material and taper constants, foundation moduli, variable axial compression and small-scale of nano-beam on the buckling loads and mode shapes are investigated. Moreover the analytical solutions, for the simpler cases are provided in appendices.

A Parametric Study about Blade Shapes and Blade Numbers of Water Wheel Type Tidal Turbine by Numerical Method

  • In this paper, a numerical experiment on a tidal turbine was performed based on a water wheel design using the commercial CFD code ANSYS-CFX to contribute to the development of water wheels. The water wheel type tidal turbine was studied with different numbers of rotor blades (including ten, twelve and twenty blades types) and with different blade shapes (Straight, Curved and Zuppinger types) for comparison at several values of tip speed ratio (TSR) ranging from 0.7 to 1.2. The numerical results indicated that the 10-bladed type and the Straight-bladed type turbines absorb the highest power efficiency, up to 43 % at TSR 0.9. In addition, the 20-bladed and the Curved-bladed types showed the lowest performances in all cases of TSRs comparing with the others. Besides that, it was found that this turbine operates much effectively at low range of TSR, especially at TSRs 0.9 and 1 for all cases of blade shapes and all numbers of blades.

RCD 접점형태에 따른 산화특성 분석 (The Analysis of Oxidization Characteristics according to the shapes of RCD contacts)

  • In this paper, the oxidization characteristics were analyzed according to the shapes of Residual Current Protective Device(RCD) contacts. RCD is an electrical safety device specially designed to immediately switch the electricity off when electric leakage is detected at a level harmful to a person using electrical equipment. The shapes of RCD contacts are a little bit different according to the models. When RCD is turned on, stationary and moving contact do not fit together. So, it can cause the increase of contact resistance. To discover the deterioration characteristics of RCD contacts by switching repetition, the contacts were analyzed by stereo microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometer(EDS).

태양 복사에너지 충진재 변화에 따른 고온 태양열 공기식 흡수기의 열전달 성능 해석 (Heat transfer performance with different fills as volumetric air receivers for concentrated solar radiative energy)

  • The heat transfer characteristics of solar tower receivers are experimentally investigated with receiver shapes. Generally, these become different according to the shapes and materials of the volumetric air receiver. In order to study these effects, the apparatus adopting laminated mesh and honeycombs as the volumetric air receiver is proposed. The receiver consists of laminated mesh (diameter; 100 mm, thickness; 1 mm), honeycombs (diameter; 100 mm, thickness; 30 mm) inserted into ceramic tube (inside diameter; 100 mm, outside diameter; 120 mm, length: 1000 mm). To apply heat to the receiver, an electric heater is used. To find out the heat transfer characteristics of the laminated mesh, the air temperatures are obtained by installing 3 thermocouples on each layer, dividing ceramic tube into 4 layers. Also, a radiative shield is installed to measure the only air temperature. The data for laminated mesh and honeycomb thickness of 30, 60, 90 mm are obtained. The results show that the temperature of layer 3 is higher than those of layer 2 and layer 1.
