텍스처 기술자들을 이용한 이질적 얼굴 인식 시스템 (Heterogeneous Face Recognition Using Texture feature descriptors)

  • 최근 많은 지능형 보안 시나리오 및 범죄수사에서는 사진이 아닌 얼굴 영상과 다수의 정면 사진과의 매칭을 요구한다. 기존의 얼굴 인식 시스템은 이러한 요구를 충분히 충족시킬 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 동일 인물의 스케치와 사진 간의 양식 차이를 줄임으로써, 이질적 얼굴 인식 시스템의 성능을 향상시키는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 텍스처 기술자들(그레이 레벨 동시 발생 행렬, 멀티스케일 지역 이진 패턴)을 통하여 영상의 텍스처 특징들을 각각 추출하고, 이를 바탕으로 고유특징 정규화 및 추출기법을 통해 변환 행렬을 생성하게 된다. 이렇게 생성된 벡터들 간 계산된 스코어 값은 스코어 정규화 방식들을 통하여 최종적으로 스케치 영상의 신원을 인식하게 된다.

Animal Fur Recognition Algorithm Based on Feature Fusion Network

  • China is a big country in animal fur industry. The total production and consumption of fur are increasing year by year. However, the recognition of fur in the fur production process still mainly relies on the visual identification of skilled workers, and the stability and consistency of products cannot be guaranteed. In response to this problem, this paper proposes a feature fusion-based animal fur recognition network on the basis of typical convolutional neural network structure, relying on rapidly developing deep learning techniques. This network superimposes texture feature - the most prominent feature of fur image - into the channel dimension of input image. The output feature map of the first layer convolution is inverted to obtain the inverted feature map and concat it into the original output feature map, then Leaky ReLU is used for activation, which makes full use of the texture information of fur image and the inverted feature information. Experimental results show that the algorithm improves the recognition accuracy by 9.08% on Fur_Recognition dataset and 6.41% on CIFAR-10 dataset. The algorithm in this paper can change the current situation that fur recognition relies on manual visual method to classify, and can lay foundation for improving the efficiency of fur production technology.

  • In retrieving large database of image data, the clustering is essential for fast retrieval. However, it is difficult to cluster a number of image data adequately. Moreover, current retrieval methods using similarities are uncertain of retrieval accuracy and take much retrieving time. In this paper, a suggested image retrieval system combines Fuzzy ART neural network algorithm to reinforce defects and to support them efficiently. This image retrieval system takes color and texture as specific feature required in retrieval system and normalizes each of them. We adapt Fuzzy ART algorithm as neural network which receive normalized input-vector and propose improved Fuzzy ART algorithm. The result of implementation with 200 image data shows approximately retrieval ratio of 83%.

  • 본 연구는 제품디자인 개발과정에서 많이 활용되고 있는 워크스테이션(workstation)의 하나인 알라아스(Alias)를 활용하여 정확한 3차원 모델 링 데이터를 구축하는 과정을 비디오 개발 과정을 통해 제시하였다. 먼저 알리아스(Alias) 모델 링의 기본이 되는 NURBS 곡선의 특징과 표면 생성 방법을 파악하였다. 기본적인 표면을 생성한 후 사실적인 이미지 표현을 위해 적용하게 되는 질감표현(texture), 조명(lighting), 렌더링(rendering) 방법을 파악하였다. 제품 디자인의 모델 링에 필요한 이러한 요소들을 비디오 디자인 개발 과정을 통해 종합적인 활용방향을 제시하였다.

  • The combination of Multi-Beam Echo Sounder swath bathymetry and high-resolution towed Sidescan sonar provides a powerful method of examination about hydrographic survey results. In this paper, we investigate the fast method of 3D bathymetric reconstruction with the Digital Sidescan sonar(Benthos SIS 1500) and Shallow Multi-Beam Echo Sounder(Reson Seabat 8125). The Seabat 8125 is a 455KHz high resolution focused Multibeam echo sounder(MBES) system which measures the relative water depth across a wide swath perpendicular to a vessel's track. The Benthos SIS1500 is a chirp(nominal fq. 200KHz) sonar which map the topographical features & sediment texture of ocean bottom using backscattered amplitude. We generates the very large 3D bathymetric texture mapping model with the Helical System's HHViewer and describes additional benefits of combining MBES and Sidescan Sonar imagery, the removal of geometric distortions in the model and a deterministic sounding noise.

  • 본 논문에서는 인간의 시각적 특성에 기반한 적응적 워터마킹 알고리즘을 제안한다. 워터마크를 삽입할 대상에 대한 시각적 특성 분석을 위해 영상의 휘도, 대비, 텍스쳐 등의 특징을 사용하였다. 제안하는 방법은 인간의 시각적 특성에 따라 워터마크의 삽입 블록과 삽입될 워터마크의 위치와 강도를 적응적으로 결정한다. 실험은 절단, 영상강화, 저주파 필터링, JPEG 압축의 영상처리 공격에 대한 워터마크 검출율을 비교하였다.

Seafloor Classification Based on the Texture Analysis of Sonar Images Using the Gabor Wavelet

  • In the process of the sonar image textures produced, the orientation and scale factors are very significant. However, most of the related methods ignore the directional information and scale invariance or just pay attention to one of them. To overcome this problem, we apply Gabor wavelet to extract the features of sonar images, which combine the advantages of both the Gabor filter and traditional wavelet function. The mother wavelet is designed with constrained parameters and the optimal parameters will be selected at each orientation, with the help of bandwidth parameters based on the Fisher criterion. The Gabor wavelet can have the properties of both multi-scale and multi-orientation. Based on our experiment, this method is more appropriate than traditional wavelet or single Gabor filter as it provides the better discrimination of the textures and improves the recognition rate effectively. Meanwhile, comparing with other fusion methods, it can reduce the complexity and improve the calculation efficiency.

  • Crown parameters are important roles in tree species identification, because the canopy is the aggregate of all the crowns. However, crown measurements with spaceborne image data have remained more difficult than on aerial photographs since trees show more structural detail at higher resolutions. This recognized problem led to the initiation of the research to determine if high resolution satellite image data could be used to identify and classify single tree species. In this paper, shape parameters derived from pixel-based crown area measurements and texture features derived from GLCM parameters in QuickBird image were tested and compared for individual tree species identification. As expected, initial studies have shown that the crown parameters and the canopy texture parameters provided a differentiating method between coniferous trees and broad-leaved trees within the compartment(less than forest stand) for single extraction from spaceborne high resolution image.

  • Mathematical morphology based on set theory is easy to be implemented in parallel and can be applied to various fields in image analysis. Particularly mophological pattern spectrum can detect critical scales in an image object and quantify various aspects of the shape-size content. In this paper, texture classification using pattern spectrum based on morphological subband decomposition is porposed. The low-low band extracts pattern spectrum features, and the high-low, low-high, and high-high bands extrack the structural information. This approach has the advantages of efficient information extraction, less time-consuming, high accuacy, less computation, and parallel implementation.

  • Ultrasound (US) imaging is an efficient, easy to use, rapid, dynamic, noninvasive, with rare side-effects and inexpensive tool allowing for facilitated diagnosis and management of the painful shoulder. It also has advantages over other imaging modalities in the evaluation of the postoperative shoulder for rotator cuff integrity and correct anchor and suture placement, as well as rotator cuff analysis following repair surgery. Early postoperative tendons frequently had a hypo- echoic echo texture and the absence of a fibrillar pattern, which might be misinterpreted as recurrent tears. however, these features often normalized into tendons with an increased echo texture and the reappearance of a fibrillar pattern at 6 months. Based on these sequential findings, the US findings within 3 months after surgery should be interpreted with caution to accurately understand and monitor the repaired tendon status.
