A significant source of vibration in helicopters is the main rotor system, and it is a technical challenge to reduce the vibration in order to ensure the comfort of crew and passengers. Several types of passive devices have been applied to conventional helicopters in order to reduce the vibration. In recent years, helicopter manufacturers have increasingly adopted active vibration control systems (AVCSs) due to their superior performance with lower weight compared with passive devices. AVCSs can also maintain their performance over aircraft configuration and flight condition changes. As part of the development of AVCS software for light civil helicopter (LCH) applications, a test bench is constructed and vibration control tests and simulations are performed in this study. The test bench, which represents the airframe, is excited using a pair of counter rotating force generators (CRFGs) and a multiple input single output (MISO) AVCS that consists of three accelerometer sensors and a pair of CRFGs; a filtered-x least mean square (LMS) algorithm is applied for the vibration reduction. First, the vibration control tests are performed with uniform sensor weights; then, the change in the control performance according to changes in the sensor weight is investigated and compared with the simulation results. It is found that the vibration control performance can be tuned through adjusting the weights of the three sensors, even if only one actuator is used.
Recently, broadband access networks have been competitively deployed all over the world with the development of various multimedia services for such a network. ETRI(Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) built the FTTH(Fiber-to-the-Home) service center to develop a next-generation equipment and a high-quality service/platform as well as to promote domestic industry in the field of optical communication. The FTTH service center has a variety of test equipments such as FTTH standard testbed for a BMT(Bench Mark Test), a network operation center, and IPTV service equipments. Also, ETRI deployed a new type of commercial optical access networks cooperating with ISP(Internet service provider). In this paper, we analyzed the quality degradation appeared in QoE(Quality of Experience), when IP data broadcasted from the FTTH service center is transmitted to subscribers through the commercial optical access network. Moreover, we proposed a noble solution to address this problem.

In the case of aircraft-launched guided weapons, various interface tests such as MIL-STD-1760 based power source, discrete signal, MUX communication as well as BIT of missile can verify system safety and reliability. The purpose of this case study is to develop a test bench based on MIL-STD-1760E for interoperability testing between aircraft and weapons. We proposed a testing method of the launch sequence based on the defined TIME LINE in the development phase of the missile system from the application of the power of the missile to the targeting, the transfer order, and the missile separation process. Furthermore, it will be a reference model that can maximize the verification scope in the development phase of the air to surface missile system by simulating abnormal situation to the inert missile using the error insertion function.

An adaptive optics system can be simulated or analyzed to predict its closed-loop performance. However, this type of prediction based on various assumptions can occasionally produce outcomes which are far from actual experience. Thus, every adaptive optics system is desired to be tested in a closed loop on an optical test bench before its application to a telescope. In the close-loop test bench, we need an atmospheric simulator that simulates atmospheric disturbances, mostly in phase, in terms of spatial and temporal behavior. We report the development of an atmospheric turbulence simulator consisting of two point sources, a commercially available deformable mirror with a $12{\times}12$ actuator array, and two random phase plates. The simulator generates an atmospherically distorted single or binary star with varying stellar magnitudes and angular separations. We conduct a simulation of a binary star by optically combining two point sources mounted on independent precision stages. The light intensity of each source (an LED with a pin hole) is adjustable to the corresponding stellar magnitude, while its angular separation is precisely adjusted by moving the corresponding stage. First, the atmospheric phase disturbance at a single instance, i.e., a phase screen, is generated via a computer simulation based on the thin-layer Kolmogorov atmospheric model and its temporal evolution is predicted based on the frozen flow hypothesis. The deformable mirror is then continuously best-fitted to the time-sequenced phase screens based on the least square method. Similarly, we also implement another simulation by rotating two random phase plates which were manufactured to have atmospheric-disturbance-like residual aberrations. This later method is limited in its ability to simulate atmospheric disturbances, but it is easy and inexpensive to implement. With these two methods, individually or in unison, we can simulate typical atmospheric disturbances observed at the Bohyun Observatory in South Korea, which corresponds to an area from 7 to 15 cm with regard to the Fried parameter at a telescope pupil plane of 500 nm.

This paper presents a preliminary study on the influence of laterite soil replacing conventional fine aggregates on the strength properties of GGBS-blended-concrete. For this purpose, GGBS-blended-concrete samples with 40% GGBS, 60% Portland cement (PC), and locally available laterite soil was used. Laterite soils at 0, 25, 50 and 75% by weight were used in trails to replace the conventional fine aggregates. A control mix using only PC, river sand, course aggregates and water served as bench mark in comparing the performance of the composite concrete mix. Test blocks including 60 cubes for compression test; 20 cylinders for split tensile test; and 20 beams for flexural strength test were prepared in the laboratory. Results showed decreasing trends in strength parameters with increasing laterite content in GGBS-blended-concrete. 25% and 50% laterite replacement showed convincing strength (with small decrease) after 28 day curing, which is about 87-90% and 72-85% respectively in comparison to that achieved by the control mix.

In this paper, we briefly introduce the test bench and test method of RWA micro-vibration. TAMAM RWA (Reaction Wheel Assembly) micro-vibration was measured on a KISTLER dynamic plate which can measure time signals of three orthogonal forces and torques simultaneously up to 400Hz, and test data was analyzed. Measured data were evaluated with respect to the wheel spin rate and the static/dynamic unbalances were estimated from the extracted first harmonic component. The estimated static and dynamic unbalances were 0.79gㆍcm and 17.4gㆍ$\textrm{cm}^2$ respectively. The resonance mode and two rocking modes were observed as a results of its frequency analysis. Several higher order harmonic components were observed, which comes from its rotor shape as well as the wheel bearing.
Chemical behaviors of each surface material for interior facilities affect to fire initiation and growth in general fire situation. These chemical behaviors were characterized by thermal properties (Heat release rate, Pyrolysis rate, specific heat, etc) which could be derived from experimental test. Especially, Heat release rate which indicates aspect of fire size is one of the most important property to asses fire hazard and protection needs. The cone calorimeter test (ISO 5660) has recently assumed to a dominant role in bench scale fire testing to obtain the Heat release rate of materials. This value could be calculated by the 'Oxygen Consumption Method' under various producing irradiances to each surface of materials. In this study, Process of the cone calorimeter test was simulated by Pyrolysis model of FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator by NIST) base on the ISO 5660 international standard. Then, we could estimate the simulation method of FDS in case of single materials through the comparative study with test results.

In this paper, we propose a fault simulation method based on primary output in combinational circuit. In the deterministic test pattern generation, each test pattern is genterated incrementally. The test pattern is applied to the primary inputs of circuit under test to simulate faults. We detect the faults with respect to each primary output. The fault detection with resptect to each primary output is reflected by the corresponding bit in the detection words, and efficient fault detection for the reconvergent fan-out stem is achieved with dynamic fault propagation. As an experimental result of the fault simulation with our method for the several bench mark circuits, we illustrated the good performance showing that the number of gates to be activated is much reduced as compared with other method which is not based on primary output.

As the density of VLSI increases, the conventional logic testing is not sufficient to completely detect the new faults generated in design and fabrication processing. Recently, IDDQ testing becomes very attractive since it can overcome the limitations of logic testing. In this paper, G-ATPG (gyeongsang automatic test pattern genrator) is designed which is able to be adapted to IDDQ testing for combinational CMOS VLSI. In G-ATPG, stuck-at, transistor stuck-on, GOS (gate oxide short)or bridging faults which can occur within priitive gate or XOR is modelled to primitive fault patterns and the concept of a fault-sensitizing gate is used to simulate only gates that need to sensitize the faulty gate because IDDQ test does not require the process of fault propagation. Primitive fault patterns are graded to reduce CPU time for the gates in a circuit whenever a test pattern is generated. the simulation results in bench mark circuits show that CPU time and fault coverage are enhanced more than the conventional ATPG using IDDQ test.
