Preparation and Physical Properties of Acrylic Resin Coatings Containing Tertiary Amine and Epoxysilane Curing Agent (3급아민기 함유 아크릴수지 합성과 에폭시실란 경화형 도료의 도막 물성)

  • To prepare the good-adherent and weather-resistant acrylic resin coatings, acrylic resin was prepared by a radical polymerization. Glass transition temperature(Tg) of the acrylic copolymer was fixed at 30℃ and the contents of tertiary amine monomer(DMAEMA) was varied to be 5, 10, 15, 20 wt% respectively. γ-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane(GPTMS) containing epoxy group was used for curing agents and di-n-butyltindilaurate(DBTDL) was used for drying accelerator. The equivalent ratio of amine to epoxy was 1:1. The prepared coatings exhibited excellent adhesion to various substrates, and various physical properties of the coatings were satisfactory. The gloss retention and color difference were improved at low tertiary amine concentration. The coatings containing 10wt% tertiary amine concentration have especially good weather resistant properties.

  • To prepare the waterborne silicone acrylic resin coatings, acrylic resin was prepared by a radical polymerization.   • Nitrate-selective ion exchange resin which have bulky tertiary amine as functional group have been synthesized by the reaction of chloromethylated polystyrene-divinylbenzene copolymer and the corresponding tertiary amine [$NR_3=NE_{t3} 1, N{(C_2 H_4 H_3)}_32]$in ethanol, while commercial resin has $NMe_3$ as functional group. The fundamental properties such as bulk density, water content, appearance index, exchange capacity, effective size, uniformity coefficient of synthesized anion exchange resin (1) have been measured. The ion exchange resin (1) and (2) exhibited the better selectivity for nitrate than sulfate in both batch and continuous column experiments.

  • The efficient use of a chiral shift agent (3) containing bifunctional group (thiourea and tertiary amine) for the determination of the enantiomeric purity of racemic mixture (Hemiesters) has been studied. The diastereomeric complexes derived from a chiral shift agent (3) with various hemiesters gave rise to well separate signals of the methoxy protons of hemiesters. Good splitting signals for enantiomers of hemiesters in 1H NMR are originated form the hydrogen bonds between carbonyl groups of hemiester and bifunctional groups of a chiral shift agent (3) such as thiourea moiety and tertiary amine. This study provides a quick and simple way to determine the chiral purity of hemiester using chiral transfer agent (3).

  • The various cobalt(Ⅱ) complexes were synthesized and characterized using tris-(2-benzimidazolylmethyl)amine (ntb) as a ligand where the ntb plays as a tripodal tetradentate ligand to form complexes with a trigonal pyramidal geometry. The complexes have 5 and 6 coordinate cobalt(Ⅱ) ions depending on the additional ligand used. In each complex the additional ligand, chloride anion, or acetate anion occupies the "open" site trans to the apical tertiary nitrogen atom of ntb ligand. Complex 1, [Co(Ⅱ)(ntb)Cl]Cl has a trigonal bipyramidal geometry. This geometry was easily constructed using ntb as a tetradentate ligand and chloride as a monodentate ligand. The complex is isostructural to the corresponding manganese(Ⅱ) complex. Crystal data are as follows: [Co(Ⅱ)(ntb)Cl]Cl·MeOH, 1. triclinic space group P1; a=13.524(2) Å, b=14.037(2) Å, c=17.275(1) Å; α=78.798(9), β=84.159(8)°, γ=65.504(9)°; V=2929.6(6) Å3; Z=4; R1=0.0715, wR2=0.1461 for reflections of I > 2σ(I). Six coordinate complex 2 [Co(ntb)(OAc)](OAc) was synthesized using ntb as a tetradentate ligand and acetate as a bidentate chelating ligand.

  • The effect of substituent inleaving group on the rates of reactions of phenacyl substituted-benzenesulfonates with pyridine was determined conductometrically in acetonitrile and in methanol at 35, 45, and $55^{\circ}C$, respectively. The reaction rate became faster in proportion to electron-attracting ability of substituent, which indicates that the substituent in leaving group can directly control reaction rate. It was shown that the specific to the carbonyl carbon as the rate-determining step.

  • Geminal bisphosphonates have been well known to be effective inhibitors of various calciumrelated disorders such as Paget's disease, hypercalcemia of malignancy, and osteoporosis. To synthesize bisphosphonates, we have used the pentacovalent oxaphospholene prepared from methyl vinyl ketone and triethyl-phosphite. Υ-Ketobisphosphonates are obtained by bromination, applied Westheimer reaction, and hydrolysis of synthesized oxaphospholene. This compound was converted to the N-alkylated Υ-aminobisphosphonates by the reductive amination. Conversion of the resulting secondary amine to the tertiary one, followed by introduction of the second alkyl group on the nitrogen, was led to the synthesis of new N,N'-dialkylated Υ-aminobisphosphonates.

Interface Characteristics of Ion Beam Mixed Cu/polyimide system

  • Cu(400$\AA$)/Polyimide has been mixed with 80 keV Ar+ and N2+from 1.0X1015ions/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to 2.0X1016 ions/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The changes of chemical bond and internal properties of sample are investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The quantitative adhesion strength is measured by using scratch test. The optimized mixing condition is that Cu/PI is irradiated with 80 keV N2+ at a dose of 1.0X1015 ions/$\textrm{cm}^2$, because N2+ ions can product more pyridine-like moiety, amide group, and tertiary amine moiety which are known as adesion promoters than Ar+.

INFLUENCES OF SILANE CONCENTRATION FOR FILLER SILANIZATION ON THE PROPERTIES OF COMPOSITES (필러의 실란처리농도가 복합레진의 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to search the optimal silane concentrations for filler- silanization of seven experimental composites. Silica filer was a 25micron crushed type. 0.0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0%, 2.5%, and 3.0% silane($\gamma$-methacrylooxypropyltrimethoxysilane)were added into silica-filler with weight percentage (wt%). Mixtures(silica filler/silane)were reacted at 6$0^{\circ}C$ for 72hours, and crushed into fine particles those were used as fillers for 7 experimental composites. Monomer was a 3 : 1 mixture of Bis-GMA and TEGDMA containing 0.2% tertiary amine and 0.4% camphoroquinone for light curability. A ratio for mixing the monomer and filler was 75% and 25% respectively. Seven experimental composites was classified with the concentration of silane treated, and the specimen number for each test was 10. Specimens with 6mm diameter and 3mm height dimension for measuring the diametral tensile strength were destroyed with 1mm/min cross-head speed on Instron universal testing machine (No. 4467, USA). Shear bond strength was measured on the specimens bonded to bovine enamel etched with 37% phosphoric acid solution for 1 minute Fractured surfaces were observed by SEM (Hitachi S-3200, Japan) among that of the highest values measured from each groups. Following results were obtained: 1. Experimental composites containing silanized filter showed the significantly higher diametral tensile strength and shear bond strength than the composites containing un-silanized fillers(Group1) (p<0.05). 2. In silanized filler composite resins(Group 2~7), Diametral tensile strength of Group 3 showed the significantly higher than that of Group 2 and Group 6(p<0.05). 3. Shear bond strength was higher in Group 3 than that of Group 7 (p<0.05)in silanized fillers composite resins. 4. Fracture surface was formed in resin matrixes on the specimens from composites containing the fillers treated with 0.5% 1.0%, and 1.5% silane. These results mean that the optimal silane concentrations are exist for each fillet with its size and surface area, and that 1.0% is a optimal value for concentration to coat the 25$\mu\textrm{m}$ filler with silane.

  • Quantitative analytical conditions for chromium using solvent extraction followed by atomic absorption spectrometry was studied. Trioctylamine(TOA) in tertiary amine or Trioctylmethylammoniumchloride(TOMAC) in quaternary ammonium salt, both containing octyl group was used as an anion exchangers. Absorbance were measured for the different kinds of acid added and as changing the concentration of acid by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometer. The maximum absorbance was obtained at the concentrations of HCl, 0.1M to 0.3M for TOA and 0.03M to 0.1M for TOMAC. Mole ratios over 1:1 of TOA or TOMAC dissolved in MIBK solution to chromium in sample shows optimum extraction efficiency while HCl was added to the MIBK. As a result of scrutinizing the extraction process, the methods employed in this experiment turned out to be better extraction efficiency for chromium, compared to similar extraction methods.
