Argument alternation in English sentences such as "load hay onto the truck" vs. "load the truck with are swarming in the garden" vs. "The garden swarms with bees" present an interesting dilemma for ling in several ways. Along with each kind of syntactic rearrangement of arguments goes a subtle but sig systematic change in the verb's meaning. This has been called as different terminology such as "D "Verbal diathesis", and most commonly as "Argument alternation". Dowty adopts tern Agent-subject(A-subject) form and Location-subject(L-subject) form in referring the two kinds of analyses as well as describes their different properties. In this paper. I basically follow assumption while surveying several 1inguists's analysis and show its theoretical adequacy.

As the service industry continues to grow in importance, a new research field called service science has formed so as to conduct more comprehensive and scientific analysis of service. However, much further research is required until we can develop the common terminology and methodology for service design and improvement. A foundational step toward this is giving a lucid definition to service which reflects the intrinsic qualities of it. Many of the service definitions mentioned in existing studies had the limitation that they considered service as the residual from physical products, or tried to conceptualize service based on some characteristics. In this paper we compare and analyze existing studies, discuss about the essential nature of services, and suggest a more comprehensive investigation into service.

The growing popularity of mobile application has led to researchers and practitioners needing to understand users' mobile application download behaviors. Using large-scale transaction data obtained from a leading Korean telecommunications company, we empirically explore how application download rank, which appears to users when they decide to download a new application, affects their extended mobile application download. This terminology refers to downloading an additional application in the same category as those that they have already downloaded. We also consider IT characteristics, user characteristics, and application type that might be associated with the extended application download. The analysis generates the following result. Overall, a higher rank of a new application encourages the extended application download, but the linear relationship between the rank and the extended application download disappears when critical rank points are incorporated into the model. Further, no quadratic effect of rank is found in the extended application download. Based on the results, we suggest theoretical and managerial implications.

In a signal control of the railway system, the first objective is to guarantee a safety of the train operation, and the second is to increase a frequency(a capability of the transportation) of the train operation. In order to express the capability of the transportation a terminology what is called a railroad line capacity is employed. The railroad line capacity means a maximum frequency of the train operation in a possible schedule of the one way operation for one day. During the last several years an improvement in the facilities of the train operation (railroad line extension, improvement in the stations, improvement in the signal facilities) has been achieved to increase the railroad line capacity. In this paper the authors deal with the case analysis which try to shorten headway and which has an impartible relation with increasing of the railroad capacity

This article describes the process involved in usability testing a agricultural information Web site. In addition to determining the goals and requirements for the agricultural information Web site, a user and task analysis was conducted for defining the its user base and the types of tasks which users might be performing at the site. Usability testing methods with close observation and in-depth interviews provided fresh insights about how users are interacting with the agricultural information Web interface as they approach various information seeking tasks. This study uncovered problems related to unclear terminology, improper interface, location for navigational links, need for context sensitive help, built-in redundancy, and clear and consistent navigation.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe and to analyze real conversation about polite behavior of nurses in cancer units. Methods: This study was conducted using a Brown & Levinson(1987) theory to analyze the polite behavior of nurses in cancer units. Five nurses who participated in this research gave permission to be videotaped. The data was collected from January to February, 2006. Results: Polite behavior of nurses in cancer units consisted of greetings, emotional support, open questions and indirect direction. And impolite behavior of nurses in cancer units was using the medical terminology, repetition of direct speech acts and task-oriented conversation. Conclusion: This study suggests polite behavior strategies for effective nursing conversation with cancer patients. Therefore, the findings may provide basic raw materials for educational programmes and intervention studies.

학문의 발전으로 새로운 개념의 생성과 함께 전문용어가 급증함에 따라 이를 체계적으로 집성하여 관리하고자 하는 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 전문용어사전에서 전문용어의 체계적이고 효율적인 뜻풀이를 위한 미시구조를 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 전문용어사전과 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있는 전문용어와 사전편찬학의 이론을 바탕으로 전문용어기술학의 특성 혹은 차이점을 살펴보고, 현행 전문용어사전의 미시구조를 분석하여 문제점을 파악한 후, 형태론적 측면과 방법론적 측면에서 미시구조에 대한 개선방안을 제안하였다.

In this paper, we examined various definitions of terminological definition for the extraction of terminological information from corpora. After we reviewed researches at the lexicography and at the terminology, we introduced the qualia structure of Generative Lexicon (Pustejovsky 1995) for the purpose of analyzing terminological definitions. By means of the qualia structure, we analyzed the definitions which are presented at the terminological dictionaries. As a result, we confirmed that the terminological definitions can be discomposed into 4 subtypes of qualia structure. Based on this examination, we analyzed terminological definitions of articles at a newspaper and showed the usefulness of the qualia structure at the extraction of terminological definitions from the corpora.

1900년대 초에 발행된 천문학 서적 2권을 중심으로 사용된 천문학 용어를 현재와 비교분석하는 연구를 진행하였다. 우리는 두 서적에 사용된 용어에서 천문학용어, 화학원소 용어, 인물 및 지명 용어로 나누어서 현재의 과학용어사전과 비교하였다. 지금까지 사용되는 용어와 지금은 사용하지 않는 용어, 그리고 의미는 동일하지만 변화를 보인 용어로 나누어 분석하였다. 한 권의 천문학 서적에는 영어 색인이 포함되어 있어, 그 기준으로 현재와 비교하고, 나머지 천문학 서적은 본문에 나온 용어를 추려서 비교하였다. 용어를 통해서 두 권의 서적이 다른 경로로 수입 번역되었음을 알 수 있었고, 현재와 같이 용어의 통일이 없었다는 점에서 당시 천문학 교육의 한계점이 드러났다. 이 연구는 당시의 천문학 서적이나 관련 서적을 연구할 때, 한자 표기 없이 영어 어휘를 음차하여 표기된 용어를 동정하는데 도움을 줄 것으로 보인다.

A statistical analysis of the diagnostic value for 244 aspiration biopsy cytology(ABC) among a total 1,043 cases from various sites was performed. ABC, using diagnostic terminology similar to that of a surgical pathology reports, was compared to the final tissue diagnosis. For the entire series, a sensitivity of 91.8%, a specificity of 99.3%, a positive predictive value of 98.9%, a negative predictive value of 94,8%, and an efficacy of the test of 96.3% were shown. There were 8 false negative and 1 false positive diagnosis. The diagnostic accuracy was 89.8%. Those results indicate that the ABC is a considerably highly accurate procedure that should be routinely employed.
