고속용 디스크 브레이크의 열탄성 마멸거동에 관한 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Analysis on the Thermoelastic Wear Behaviors for a High-Speed Disk Brake)

  • This paper presents the results of thermoelastic wear behaviors in ventilated disk brakes for a high-speed automotive and train using the finite element method. The computed results show that the sinusoidal distortions due to non-uniform distributions of temperature profiles may lead to thermoelastic wears on the rubbing surface. This may decrease the service life of a disk brake and produce micro-cracks, noise and squeals between two rubbing surfaces.

  • This paper is described for the flame behaviors in light railway cabin by numerical simulation code, which can be interpreted the design parameters in terms of suppression the fire propagation and excavation the passengers safely. The results shows that the flame intensity(fire temperature, smoke density) depends on the firing points in cabin and propagates rapidly whole cabin space rather than modern subway cabin due to smaller inner space. The data will be used to how can be get the safety case, which is described on the operating principles for all facilities and logistics against to the light railway firing accidents.

  • New metallic powder making processes, named "Centrifugal Emulsification Process(CEP)" and "Mixer and Settler(MS)" have been developed to synthesize rapid solidified metallic powders. Through CEP and MS processings, the high temperature metals as well as the low temperature alloys are manufactured. Also, the effects of rapid solidification on the undercooling, solidification rate and crystallization behaviors can be evaluated effectively through the processes. The standard deviations of the synthesized typical Pb-Sn eutectic powders are 1.63 and 1.51 for CEP and MS respectively, and the average size of the MS powders was $18{\mu}m$. The possibility of the customized not only size and shape control but microstructure control was also shown. Both of the new methods can be applied to continuous powder making processes.

  • A higher order zig-zag plate theory is developed to refine accurately predict fully coupled of the mechanical, thermal, and electric behaviors. Both the displacement and temperature fields through the thickness are constructed by superimposing linear zig-zag field to the smooth globally cubic varying field. Smooth parabolic distribution through the thickness is assumed in the transverse deflection in order to consider transverse normal deformation. Linear zig-zag form is adopted in the electric field. The layer-dependent degrees of freedom of displacement and temperature fields are expressed in terms of reference primary degrees of freedom by applying interface continuity conditions as well as bounding surface conditions of transverse shear stresses and transverse heat flux The numerical examples of coupled and uncoupled analysis are demonstrated the accuracy and efficiency of the present theory. The present theory is suitable for the predictions of fully coupled behaviors of thick smart composite plate under mechanical, thermal, and electric loadings.

  • Quinoline insoluble formed by the heat treatment was hot-pressed near its softening point. The green body was stabilized in the temperature range of $300{\sim}400^{\circ}C$ and subsequently carbonized below $1300^{\circ}C$ in an argon atmosphere. The behaviors of QI formation was examined with varying the heat treatment temperature and the lapse of time of the sample carbonized at various temperatures. And the mechanical property, corrosion resistance, and friction behavior were also measured optimum content of mesophase pitch ensured a dense structure and high $LC_{(002)}$ value, which resulted in high mechanical properties, good corrosion resistance, and low-stable friction behavior.

  • Sliding wear behaviors of Inconel 600 and 690 were investigated at room temperature in air. In the present study, Archard's equation which has low reliability was modified. In the prediction of wear volume by Archard's equation, the reliabilities of Inconel 600 and 690 were about from 26.3% to 45.7% and from 69. l% to 88.6%, respectively, The sliding wear behaviors of Inconel 600 and 690 turned out to be influenced by their stacking fault energy, and the fact was confirmed by using TEM and micro-hardness test Based on experimental results, the wear coefficient was modified as a function of the sliding distance. The calculation with the modified wear equation showed that the reliability of Inconel 600 tested with 409 ferritic stainless steel increased from 45.7% to 93.4%.

  • In this study, we prepared the nitrogen-containing carbon spheres with mesopore processed by a facile polymerization-induced colloid aggregation method including carbonization in order to investigate the characterization and the effect on their carbon dioxide adsorption behaviors. The carbonization temperature was varied in the range of $600^{\circ}C$ to $900^{\circ}C$. The nitrogen contents of the mesoporous carbon sphere were characterized using XPS. The carbon dioxide adsorption capacities of the prepared mesoporous carbon sphere were determined by the amounts of carbon dioxide adsorptions at 298 K and 1.0 atm. The results showed that the prepared mesoporous carbons were highly effective for the carbon dioxide adsorption due to the increasing the affinity of the basic functionalities of adsorbent surface to acidic carbon dioxide. Maximum adsorption capacities of carbon dioxide at $25^{\circ}C$ were achieved up to 106 mg/g.

  • Sb-doped tin oxide films were deposited on Corning glass 1737 substrate by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition(PECVD) technique using a gas mixture of SnCl4/SbCl5/O2/Ar. The deposition behaviors of tin oxide films by PECVD were compared with those by thermal CVD, and effects of deposition temperature, r.f. power and Sb doping on the electrical properties of tin oxide films were investigated. PECVD technique largely increased the deposition rate and smoothed the surface of tin oxide films compared with thermal CVD. Electrical resistivity decreased with doping of Sb due to the increase of carrier concentration. However, large doping of Sb diminished carrier concentration and mobility due to the decrease of crystallinity, which resulted in the increase of electrical resistivity. As the deposition temperature and r.f. power increased, Cl content in the film decreased.

온간액압성형공정 적용을 위한 알루미늄 6061, 7075 튜브의 열처리조건에 따른 변형특성연구 (A Study on Deformation Behaviors of Al 6061, 7075 Tube at Different Heat Treatments for Warm Hydroforming)

  • The deformation behaviors of full annealed and T6 treated 6061, 7075 aluminum tubes are investigated at various temperature performing uniaxial tensile test. Full annealed Al 6061 and Al7075 tubes, and T6 treated Al7075 tube don't show sharp local necking with an elongation of 50% at $300^{\circ}C$. So it is expected that influenced by elevated tempterature. At $300^{\circ}C$ and strain rate of 0.001/s, many micro-cracks are observed in T6 treated Al 6061 tube, which is believed to be responsible for the decrease of total elongation.

A Study on Electrical Resistivity Behaviors of PAN-based Carbon Nanofiber Webs

  • The influences of various carbonization temperatures on electrical resistivity and morphologies of polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based nanofiber webs were studied. The diameter size distribution and morphologies of the nanofiber webs were observed by a scanning electron microscope. The electrical resistivity behaviors of the webs were evaluated by a volume resistivity tester. From the results, the volume resistivity of the carbon webs was ranged from $5.1{\times}10^{-1}\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ to $3.0{\times}10^{-2}\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$, and the average diameter of the fiber webs was varied in the range of 310 to 160 nm with increasing the carbonization temperature. These results could be explained that the graphitic region of carbon webs was formed after carbonization at high temperatures. And the amorphous structure of polymeric fiber webs was significantly changed to the graphitic crystalline, resulting in shrinking the size of fiber diameters.
