We present preliminary results of KVN single dish telescope observations of 80 dense cores in the Orion molecular cloud complex which contains the Orion A, B, and ${\lambda}$ Orionis cloud. We investigate the behavior of the different molecular tracers and look for chemical variations of cores in the three clouds in order to systematically investigate the effects of stellar feedback. The most commonly detected molecular lines (with the detection rates higher than 50%) are N2H+, HCO+, H13CO+, C2H, HCN, and H2CO. The detection rates of dense gas tracers, N2H+, HCO+, H13CO+, and C2H show the lowest values in the ${\lambda}$ Orionis cloud. We find difference between molecular D/H ratios and N2H+/H13CO+ abundance ratios towards different clouds, and between protostellar cores and starless cores. Eight starless cores in the Orion A and B clouds exhibit high deuterium fractionations, larger than 0.10, while in the ${\lambda}$ Orionis cloud, no cores reveal the high ratio. These chemical properties could support that cores in the ${\lambda}$ Orionis cloud are affected by the photo-dissociation and external heating from the nearby H II region, which is a hint of negative stellar feedback on core formation. The striking difference between the [N2H+]/[H13CO+] ratios leads us to suggest that there are significant evolutionary differences between the Orion A/B and ${\lambda}$ Orionis clouds. In order to examine whether starless cores can be candidates of pre-stellar cores, we compared the core masses estimated from the 850 um emission to their Virial masses calculated from the N2H+ line data and find that most of them are not gravitationally bound in the three clouds.
NGC 6803 is an elliptical ring shape planetary nebula. We analyzed the high dispersion spectra which had been observed with the Hamilton Echelle Spectrograph attached to the 3-m Shane telescope of Lick Observatory. We also investigated the low dispersion UV spectral data obtained with the 60-cm interstellar ultraviolet explorer. Diverse excitation lines were found from neutral to quadruply ionized ions. The temperature diagnostic lines indicate relatively low electron temperatures, i.e., $T_{\epsilon}{\leq}9500$ K for most lines except for [ClIV] - 11,500 K. In spite of its simplistic bi-laterally symmetrical elliptical shape, the nebula appears to be very complex of a hugh density range from 1300 to 80,000 $cm^3$. A comparison of the two epoch data suggests that the density increase occurred in the high excitation line zone near the inner boundary. We derived the chemical abundances of He, C, N, O, Ne, S, Ar, Cl, and K. The chemical abundances of NGC 6803 are enhanced compared with the average Galactic planetary nebula. Our self-consistent photo-ionization model study implies that the effective temperature of the central star is 90,000 K and its luminosity is 2400 $L_{\odot}$. The evolutionary track suggests that the progenitor of NGC 6803 was about 0.9 -- 1.0 $M_{\odot}$ star, which might be born from a metal-rich zone near the galactic disk, but now relocated into the present high Galactic latitude.
Black hole masses of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) are one of the most important parameters in AGN physics. Based on the virial assumption, black hole masses can be determined from the product of the width of the broad emission lines and the continuum/line luminosities. Using the Low Resolution Imaging Spectrometer(LRIS) at the Keck telescope, we obtained high quality spectra (S/N~100), covering 2300-5500A in the rest-frame, for a sample of 37 intermediate-luminosity AGN at z~0.4, in order to calibrate various black hole mass estimators based on the Mg II (2798A) and the Hbeta (4861A) emission lines. After subtracting continuum and complex FeII emission under Mg II and Hbeta, we fit the broad emission lines using high order Guass-Hermite models to best constrain the profile and the width of the emission lines. Combining the SDSS spectra covering Halpha emission line with the Keck spectra, we determine a set of 6 black hole masses for each object, based on the line width (MgII, Hbeta, and Halpha) and the luminosity (LMgII, LHbeta, LHalpha, L3000, L5100), and calibrate each black hole mass estimator. We will present uncertainties and limitations of each mass estimator.

NGC 6822 is a dwarf irregular galaxy in the Local Group and it is located in 500 kpc, further than the Large Magellanic Cloud and the Small Magellanic Cloud. Therefore, we can study star-forming processes by local condition in NGC 6822 instead of tidal force of the Galactic gravitational field. Hubble V is the brightest of several H II complexes in this galaxy. We observed Hubble V by using IGRINS attached on the 2.7 m telescope at the McDonald Observatory in Texas, US in May 2016. We performed a spectral mapping of $15^{{\prime}{\prime}}{\times} 7^{{\prime}{\prime}}$area on H and K bands, and detected emission lines of bright $Br{\gamma}\;{\lambda}2.1661{\mu}m$ and weak He I ${\lambda}2.0587{\mu}m$. Molecular hydrogen lines of 1-0S(1) ${\lambda}2.1218{\mu}m$, 2-1 S(1) ${\lambda}2.2477{\mu}m$, and 1-0 S(0) ${\lambda}2.2227{\mu}m$ was also detected. These emission lines show the structure of an ionized core and excited surface of clouds by far-ultraviolet photons, photodissociation region (PDR). We present three-dimensional maps of emission line distributions through multi slit scanning data and compare these results with the previous study. This presentation shows the physical structure of the star-forming regions and we discuss a PDR model and an evolution of Hubble V complex.

Discovered as the second highest S/N detection of the Planck SZ survey, PLCK G287.0+32.9 is a massive galaxy cluster that belongs to a rare collection of merging clusters that exhibit two radio relics and a radio halo. A feature that makes this cluster even more unique is the separation of the radio relics with one $\sim 400$ kpc to the north-west of the X-ray peak and the other $\sim 2.8$ Mpc to the south-east. This asymmetric configuration requires a complex merging scenario. A key to gaining insight into the events that caused the formation of the merging features is to understand the dark matter mass distribution. Using a weak-lensing technique on deep Subaru and Hubble Space Telescope observations, we map the dark matter mass distribution of PLCK G287.0+32.9. Our investigation detects five significant mass structures. The mass is dominated by a primary structure that is centered near the X-ray peak of the intracluster medium. Four lesser mass structures are detected with two located within $\sim 1\arcmin$ of the primary mass structure, a third to the north-west, and a fourth near the south-east radio relic. Along with these detections, we estimate the mass of each structure and relate their distributions to the intracluster medium and galaxy distributions. In addition, we discuss the relation of the mass structures to the formation of the relics and plausible merging scenarios.

We have conducted a 22 GHz very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) survey of 281 local (z < 0.05) active galactic nuclei (AGNs) selected from the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) 70-month ultra hard X-ray (14-195 keV) catalog. The main goal is to investigate the relation between the strengths of black hole accretion and the parsec-scale nuclear jet, which is expected to tightly correlate but has not been observationally confirmed yet. The BAT AGN Spectroscopic Survey (BASS) provides the least biased AGN sample against obscuration including both Seyfert types, hence it makes an ideal parent sample for studying the nuclear jet properties of an overall AGN population. Using the Korean VLBI Network (KVN), the KVN and VERA Array (KaVA), and the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA), we observed 281 objects with a 22 GHz flux > 30 mJy, detecting 11 targets (~4% of VLBI detection rate). This implies that the fraction of X-ray AGNs which are currently ejecting a strong nuclear jet is very small. Although our 11 sources span a wide range of pc-scale morphological types, from compact to complex, they lie on a tight linear relation between accretion luminosity and nuclear jet luminosity. Our finding may indicate that the power of nuclear jet is directly responsible for the amount of black hole accretion. We also have probed the fundamental plane of black hole activity in VLBI scale (e.g., few milli-arcsecond). The results from our high-frequency VLBI radio study support that the change of jet luminosity and size follows what is predicted by the AGN evolution scenario based on the Eddington ratio (ƛ$_{Edd}$) - column density ($N_H$) plane, proposed by a previous study.
