The Evaluation Method for Viewing Angle Image Control (VIC) Technology

  • A new evaluation method which named 'Security Viewing Angle Factor (SVAF)' was suggested for VIC (Viewing-angle Image Control) technology to quantify a visual hiding performance of LCD. Currently, Contrast Ration (CR) is the general method to evaluate VIC technology. However, CR shows a significant difference when compared with the result of human visual system. Furthermore, a perceptional evaluation method and its conditions were established.

지식경제 기술혁신사업의 평가 전문성 발전 방향: 정보통신산업진흥원 사례 (Developments of Evaluation Expertise of Technology Innovation Program for Knowledge Economy by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy: The Case of the National IT Promotion Agency)

  • 이 연구는 첨단화 융합화 복합화 경향이 특히 강한 정보통신 분야에서의 평가 신뢰성을 높이기 위해서는 평가의 전문성이 획기적으로 제고되어야 한다는 문제의식에서 출발하고 있다. 이를 위해 지식경제 기술혁신사업 중에서 정보통신 분야의 기반구축과 산업 진흥을 담당하는 정보통신산업진흥원의 평가 전문성을 평가자 선정, 평가자 전문성 발휘여건, 평가자의 이력관리라는 전 과정 평가관리의 분석틀을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 정보통신산업진흥원의 평가제도는 다른 기관에 비하여 평가자 선정과 평가자의 이력관리는 양호하나, 평가자의 전문성 발휘 여건은 상대적으로 개선과 보완이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 각 분석요소에서의 평가 전문성 향상을 위한 정책대안을 단기와 장기로 분류하여 총 12가지로 논의하였다.

연구기관 평가의 실증 분석: 평가 참여자의 인식차이를 중심으로 (Empirical Analysis of Evaluation System for Public Research Institutes: Focused on Differences of the Perception among Participants)

  • 이 연구는 1999년도부터 시행되고 있는 과학기술계 연구기관 평가에 대하여 내 외부 참여자들이 제도의 타당성과 운영의 효율성에 대하여 어떻게 인식하고 있으며, 이들의 각기 다른 평가인식을 통합하기 위한 제도적 운영적인 정책대안을 모색 논의하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구는 주로 심층면담으로 진행되었는데, 내부 참여자와 외부 참여자 그리고 내부 참여자는 다시 경영진과 연구진으로 분류된 총 109명의 면담자에게 연구기관 평가의 10개 구성요소에 대하여 질의하고 토론하는 방법으로 이루어졌다. 연구결과 내 외부 평가 참여자들은 공통적으로 연구기관 평가는 전략적인 이유에서건 실질적인 이유에서건 간에 기관경영과 연구관리를 위해 필요하고 도움이 된다고 인식하는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 그러나 평가참여자들의 원칙적인 입장에서의 긍정적인 인식에도 불구하고, 제도의 구체적인 내용과 운영 실태에 관해서는 많은 면담자들이 공통적으로 또는 각기 다른 입장과 경험에 근거하여 개선과 보완이 필요한 사항들을 제시하고 있다.

Questionnaire Results of Subjective Evaluation of Seal Robot at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Stockholm, Sweden

  • This paper describes research on mental commit robot that seeks a different direction from industrial robot, and that is not so rigidly dependent on objective measures such as accuracy and speed. The main goal of this research is to explore a new area in robotics, with an emphasis on human-robot interaction. In the previous research, we categories robots into four categories in terms of appearance. Then, we introduced a cat robot and a seal robot, and evaluated them by interviewing many people. The results showed that physical interaction improved subjective evaluation. Moreover, a priori knowledge of a subject has much influence into subjective interpretation and evaluation of mental commit robot. In this paper, 133 subjects evaluated the seal robot, Paro by questionnaires in an exhibition at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. This paper reports the results of statistical analysis of evaluation data.

A trust evaluation method for improving nodes utilization for wireless sensor networks

  • Existing trust evaluation models for wireless sensor networks can accurately and objectively evaluate trust value of nodes, but the nodes' energy saving problem was ignored. Especially when there are a few malicious nodes in a network, the overall trust value calculation for all nodes would waste lots of energy. Beside that, the network failure caused by nodes death was also not considered. In this paper, we proposed a method for avoiding energy hole which applied trust evaluation models and a trust evaluation method based on information entropy, so as to achieve the purpose of improving nodes utilization. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively improve nodes utilization, and it has reasonable detection rate and lower false alert rate compared to other classical methods.

  • When we see a binary black and white image, it appears. to our visual sense, to become clearer because of a pseudo halftone. This is because when we don't notice of all the details of the image, instead we see from a more global standpoint. We presented a theory and experimental results for layered model which extended external world, retina and brain of the two dimensional visual model. This paper propose the objective evaluation to coincide with the subjective evaluation of the human in ordered to evaluate the relative merits of the various modulation method. We obtain experimentally the restored images and the measure of approximation of the density four division and ordered dither method. The measure of approximation present s the objective evaluation scale to coincide with the subjective evaluation of the two modulation images.

  • The task evaluating science and technology is becoming more important in every country trying to develop and improve overall national R&D capability in an effort to sustain national prosperity and public welfare. However, the way in which evaluation organisation is approached in each country may differ from nation to nation reflecting national R&D systems and S&T policies as well as the specific roles of scientists and policy- makers at various levels. Over the past two decades or so, Korean evaluation system has been transplanted form the West and they modified, In addition, Korea borrowed elements from the Japanese. Whether such systems have been well rooted in our specific circumstances is a critical question. In this context, it would be meaningful to diagnoses the current Korean evaluation system and also makes some suggestions for improving this system. For this purpose, this paper also attempts to approach to the theoretical aspects of evaluation as a starting-point.

클라우드 기반 인공지능 플랫폼 도입 평가 프레임워크 개발 (Development of Evaluation Framework for Adopting of a Cloud-based Artificial Intelligence Platform)

  • Artificial intelligence is becoming a global hot topic and is being actively applied in various industrial fields. Not only is artificial intelligence being applied to industrial sites in an on-premises method, but cloud-based artificial intelligence platforms are expanding into "as a service" type. The purpose of this study is to develop and verify a measurement tool for an evaluation framework for the adoption of a cloud-based artificial intelligence platform and test the interrelationships of evaluation variables. To achieve this purpose, empirical testing was conducted to verify the hypothesis using an expanded technology acceptance model, and factors affecting the intention to adopt a cloud-based artificial intelligence platform were analyzed. The results of this study are intended to increase user awareness of cloud-based artificial intelligence platforms and help various industries adopt them through the evaluation framework.
