  • This study developed a sound art programming course using pure data to foster computational thinking and convergence of art and technology in college students who are non-computer majors. This paper presents an example of operating a curriculum that designed and developed a sound art-centered music programming subject using Pure Data, derives educational outcomes and improvement measures for classes, and presents a creative convergence education program of technology and art. It has a purpose. For the study, we looked at examples of educational programs that combine art and technology, as well as pure data and sound art, and based on this, we designed and developed a sound art programming course for non-majors. The curriculum was operated based on the developed subjects, and the results showed increased interest in programming through art and technology convergence classes, active class participation through autonomous choice, creation of a new perspective on art, improvement of computational thinking skills, collaboration and communication. The educational effect of ability enhancement was confirmed. We expect that this study will be able to present a new perspective on the convergence education of art and technology, including artistic diversity and understanding of new media according to the development of media.

  • The expansion of media art has not only developed the digital technology but also given lots of environmental evolution to improve various fields of design as the main topic of the 21st century. The purpose of this study is aimed at proposing the new design that integrates fashion accessaries with media art technology. This will be done by understanding the social environment in digital ages and studying technology of design based on a variety of literature about changes in our society, neo value, vision, culture and art with fundamental notion of media art. First stage for this study, put an idea into just fashion accessary design because it is not sufficient to incoporate fashion and media art technology. The presented OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diodes) in this study is a kind of display to be in a limelight in the next generation and can be applied to various field of design. media art simultaneously moved into the scope of artistic debates. As a result, we can found that the use of audiovisual introduced numerous new aspects to the conceptual and aesthetic engagement with questions of conception. Today, the presented forms of art and inter-action from the closed -circuit work to interactive media art installations to open process-exist as parallel possibilities.

  • Rapid growth in computer and digital-based technology has brought about changes in various human services including psychotherapy. This paper will look into one of these changes, focusing on a rising area of mental health therapy : Art therapy. Although development of art therapy is not so fast compared to other branches of psychotherapy, some art therapists are studying how to adopt and use it properly. Both art therapists and mental health experts have concluded that technology is a powerful tool despite its limitations and reservations. While some of them think that patients have benefited from the implementation of technology, others have felt concerns about the replacement of basic professional practices. The use of digital technology in the area of art therapy, however, continues to increase, encouraging patients to benefit from it in various therapeutic processes. This thesis therefore focuses on the analysis of literature related to digital art therapy published up to now. The following field study on Korean art therapists aims to examine the current practice of digital art therapy and discuss its feasibility and future. These two methods will contribute to enhancing the understanding of art therapy not only in theory but in practice and also suggest how digital art therapy may overcome limitations of conventional art therapy by exploiting its advantages. Furthermore, this study will present some clues on a possible new position of digital art therapy in the future. I hope that this analytical examination on digital art therapy will stimulate further discussion on this issue and particularly encourage more interdisciplinary work between art therapy and digital technology.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the vivid realities of important technical and relational aspects of visual art that were emphasised during training by art therapy supervisors and educators. Max van Manen's hermeneutic phenomenological methodology was incorporated into the study. Summarising their main experiences, art therapy supervisors enabled experiences of reproducibility and immediacy in their supervision, and allowed visual art to be used as a tool to foster inner contact with their supervisees. To enable this experience, art therapy supervisors provided a creative foundation and a receptive environment that promoted creativity for supervisees to use and experience art beyond the role of passive viewers. The results of this research clarified how the participating supervisors interpreted the value of art therapy as a method to nurture the professional growth of trainees. Their contributions suggest experiences and methods that may effectuate future advancements in the field of art therapy supervision.

  • Background: The integration of new media technologies marks a significant evolution in public art. Shifting from traditional forms to a digital and virtual environment diversifies artistic expression and transforms how art interacts with the public, fostering a more inclusive and engaging public sphere. Methods: Using a qualitative research design, this study explores the impacts and roles of new media public art within virtual spaces. Through a series of in-depth case studies, it examines how virtualization technologies enhance interactivity, immersion, and public accessibility of art, thus revolutionizing its engagement and reception. Results: Findings reveal that spatial virtualization significantly enriches the interactive potential and diversity of public art. It facilitates novel forms of artistic expression and immersive experiences, promoting deeper levels of audience engagement and participation. Challenges such as technological accessibility and the necessity for interdisciplinary collaboration are also identified. Conclusions: We advocate for a strategic and deliberate integration of virtual technologies in public art projects, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive approach that considers the perspectives of artists, patrons, and the public. We believe that addressing the digital era's challenges and opportunities can enable new media public art to leverage virtualization effectively, fostering a dynamic and participatory art landscape.
