  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors of conflict formation, conflict resolution type, and relationship performance between convenience store franchise headquarters and franchise stores operated by the franchise system located in the metropolitan area. The conclusion could be summarized as follows. First, according to factor analysis based on the previous research, the factor of conflict between convenience store headquarters and franchisee was tied to three factors such as goal disagreement, doctrinal discrepancy, and interdependence, whereas conflict resolution type was linked to three factors such as cooperation type, attack type, and avoidance type. Finally, the relationship performance is tied to three factors: financial performance, long-term cooperation, and non-financial performance. Second, as a result of Hypothesis 1, the interdependence was positively correlated when the cooperative type was the dependent variable. The target discrepancy was significantly positive(+) when the aggressive type was the dependent variable. The interdependence was significantly negative(-) when the avoidance type was the dependent variable. There also was a significantly positive(+) relationship in the target disagreement. Third, for Hypothesis 2, it is shown that target inconsistency is negative(-) for all cases where financial performance, long-term cooperation, and non-financial performance are dependent variables. Fourth, for Hypothesis 3, when the financial performance is the dependent variable, only the cooperative type shows a positive(+) relationship. On the other hand, when the long-term cooperation and the non-financial aptitude are the dependent variables, the cooperative type has a significant positive(+) relationship.

  • In the moving target problem, the velocity information of the moving target is very important as well as the high accuracy position information. To solve this problem, active researches are being conducted recently with combine the Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) and Frequency Delay of Arrival(FDOA) measurements. However, since the FDOA measurement is utilizing the Doppler effect due to the relative velocity between the target source and the receiver sensor, it may be difficult to use the FDOA measurement if the moving target speed is not sufficiently fast. In this paper, we propose a method for estimating the position and the velocities of the target by using only the TDOA measurements for the low speed moving target in the indoor environment with sensor network. First, the target position and heading angle are obtained from the estimated positions of two attached transmitters on the target. Then, the target angular and linear velocities are also estimated. In addtion, we apply the Instrumental Variable (IV) technique to compensate the estimation error of the estimated target velocity. In simulation, the performance of the proposed algorithm is verified.

  • we propose two methods which separate the variable selection step and the split-point selection step. We call these two algorithms as CHITES method and F&CHITES method. They adapted some of the best characteristics of CART, CHAID, and QUEST. In the first step the variable, which is most significant to predict the target class values, is selected. In the second step, the exhaustive search method is applied to find the splitting point based on the selected variable in the first step. We compared the proposed methods, CART, and QUEST in terms of variable selection bias and power, error rates, and training times. The proposed methods are not only unbiased in the null case, but also powerful for selecting correct variables in non-null cases.

  • Data mining is a process of discovering useful patterns for decision making from an amount of data. It has recently received much attention in a wide range of business and engineering fields Classifying a group into subgroups is one of the most important subjects in data mining Tree-based methods, known as decision trees, provide an efficient way to finding classification models. The primary concern in tree learning is to minimize a node impurity, which is evaluated using a target variable in the data set. However, there are situations where multiple target variables should be taken into account, for example, such as manufacturing process monitoring, marketing science, and clinical and health analysis. The purpose of this article is to present several methods for measuring the node impurity, which are applicable to data sets with multiple target variables. For illustrations, numerical examples are given with discussion.

  • We present one-color nonlinear wavepacket interferometry (WPI) signal calculations for a system of two electronic levels and one vibrational degree of freedom. We consider two cases, a displaced harmonic oscillator system, which can be treated analytically, and a model photodissociative system, whose WPI signal must be calculated by numerical wavepacket propagation. We show how signals obtained with different combinations of intrapulse-pair phase shifts can be combined to isolate the complex-valued overlap between a given onepulse target wavepacket and a variable three-pulse reference wavepacket. We demonstrate that with a range of inter- and intrapulse-pair delays the complex overlaps and variable reference states can be used to reconstruct the target wavepacket. We compare our results with previous methods for vibronic state reconstruction based on linear WPI and discuss further generalizations of our method.

  • As the size and the diversity of the beauty industry grow, the need for systematic marketing strategy in beauty shop also increases. This study aims at finding 1)how to segment the market of beauty industry based on lifestyle variable and 2)how to set up the corresponding mix strategy on target market. The case of 'B beauty shop' shows that the validity of lifestyle-based segementation model is verified as the shop has posted a drastic financial outcome during last 5 years. In addition, this study implies that the corelation research between lifestyle variables and marketing mix strategy should be included as an important factor in launching a beauty-related business in segmented market.

  • A real tine simulator of running power train for a construction vehicle was developed. The simulator mainly consists of following two parts; (1) running power train part and (2) running load generation part. An optimal servo control algorithm was adopted for designing the multi-variable digital control system of the simulator. By experiments investigating response characteristics under step-wise variation or pre-determined scenario of target vehicle velocity and target load torque, it was verified that the simulator could reproduce physical situations at and actual vehicle with excellent similarity.

  • State varibles were estimated for fermentations of K. marxianus under various dilution rates and dissolved oxygen concentrations. The number of elementary reaction stoichiometry with fixed coefficients was determined by singular variable decomposition. Stoichiometry with feasible physical meaning was obtained by target factor analysis. States of fermentations were estimated by linear quadratic programming. The process conditions of single cell production to maximize carbon source consumption were suggested.

  • In this paper, we propose a simulator to evaluate the performance of the semi-active laser guidance or the quadrant photodetector and to simulate the laser power reflected from a target. The laser pulse repetition frequency was generated and synchronized with the laser pulse repetition(PRF) code. To evaluate the performances of the proposed methods, we implemented a prototype system and performed experiments. As a result, the generated high voltage was variable in the range of DC 3V to 340V and has the rate of change of 2000 V/s. PRF code can be generated within 50ms ∼ 100ms and the error is implemented within 0.3ns. The laser output is synchronized with the PRF code and has a dynamic range of 23.6dB.
