In this paper, we propose a new systolic architecture for the order statistics(OS) constant false alarm rate(CFAR) processor. In the proposed architecture, each processing element(PE) can compare two reference data cells with one test cell simultaneously in each clock cycle. So the utilization of each PE in this architecture is 100% whereas the utilization of each PE in the systolic architecture previously reported by Ritcey and Hwang is 50% because of one clock delay between two adjacent PE's active in computation. This can speed up the data processing rate by a factor of two. With this architecture, we can obtain the reduced number of communication links between adjacent PE's and reduction of the latency by half in comparison with the one proposed by Ritcey and Hwang.
Blood pressure was predicted from photoplethysmography (PPG). To obtain PPG, backscattered light from a fingertip was measured and its waveform was analyzed. Systolic upstroke time and diastolic time in the pulse waveform were used as parameters to predict blood pressure. The experiment was carried out with five subjects on five different days. The systolic upstroke time had a correlation coefficient of -0.605 with respect to systolic blood pressure and the diastolic time had a correlation coefficients of -0.764 for diastolic pressure. This PPG method does not require an air-cuff installation on the arm and can predict blood pressure continuously. This simple LED/photo detector setup can be a good candidate for nonconstrained monitoring of blood pressure variations.
This paper presents the application of the wavelet transform analysis and the neural network method to the phonocardiogram (PCG) signal. Heart sound is a acoustic signal generated by cardiac valves, myocardium and blood flow and is a very complex and nonstationary signal composed of many source. Heart sound can be discriminated normal heart sound and heart murmur. Murmurs have broader frequency bandwidth than the normal ones and can occur at random position of cardiac cycle. In this paper, we classified the group of heart sound as normal heart sound(NO), pre-systolic murmur(PS), early systolic murmur(ES), late systolic murmur(LS), early diastolic murmur(ED). And we used the wavelet transform to shorten artifacts and strengthen the low level signal. The ANN system was trained and tested with the back- propagation algorithm from a large data set of examples-normal and abnormal signals classified by expert. The best ANN configuration occurred with 15 hidden layer neurons. We can get the accuracy of 85.6% by using the proposed algorithm.

In many practical applications of systolic array, it is common that the problem size(n) is larger than the array size(M). In this case, the problem has to be partitioned into block to fit into the array before it is processed. This paper presents a problem partition method for dynamic programming and 2-dimensional systolic array suitable for it. Designed array has two types of array configur-ation for processing the partitioned problem. The queue is designed for storing and recirculating the intermediate results in the correct location and time. The number of processing elements and queues required are M(3M+1)/2, 4M respectively. The total processing time is 2(M+1)+(n+10M+3)(n/M-1)(n/M-1)/6.

In this paper, the problems of the conventional special-purpose array processor such as the deficiency of flexibility have been investigated. Then, a new modified methodology has been suggested and applied to obtain the common solution of the three typical App algorithms like SP(Shortest Path), TC(Transitive Closure), and MST(Minimun Spanning Tree) among the various APP algorithms using the similar method to obtain the solution. In the newly proposed APP parallel algorithm, real-time Processing is possible, without the structure enhancement and the functional restriction. In addition, we design 2-demensional bit-parallel low-triangular systolic array processor and the 1-PE in detail. For its evaluation, we consider its computational complexity according to bit-processing method and describe relationship of total chip size and execution time. Therefore, the proposed processor obtains, on which a large data inputs in real-time, 3n-4 execution time which is optimal o(n) time complexity, o(n$^{2}$) space complexity which is the number of total gate and pipeline period rate is one.
Convolutional coding with Viterbi decoding is known as a powerful method for forward error correction among many kinds of channel coding methods. This paper presents a soft decision Viterbi decoder which has systolic array trace-back architecture[1]. Soft decision is known as more effective method than hard decision and most of digital communication systems use soft decision. The advantage of using a systolic array decoder is that the trace-back operation can be accomplished continuously in an array of registers in a pipe-line fashion, instead of waiting for the entire trace-back procedure to be completed at each iteration. Therefore it may be suitable for faster communication system. We described operations of each module of the decoder and showed results of the logic synthesis and functional simulation.
We have tried to create a vision system like human eye for a long time. We have obtained some distinguished results through many studies. Stereo vision is the most similar to human eye among those. This is the process of recreating 3-D spatial information from a pair of 2-D images. In this paper, we have designed a stereo matching algorithm based on systolic array architecture using edges and pixel data. This is more advanced vision system that improves some problems of previous stereo vision systems. This decreases noise and improves matching rate using edges and pixel data and also improves processing speed using high integration one chip FPGA and compact modules. We can apply this to robot vision and automatic control vehicles and artificial satellites.
The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship of the dietary nutrients to blood pressure among preschool children in Seoul and to concurrently study the effect of seasonal variance on the aforementioned relationship. The subjects of the study consisted of 203 preschool children aged four to six years. Anthropometric measurements of height, weight, pulse rate and blood pressure, urinary excretion of five cations(Na, K, Ca, P, Mg), creatinine and urea nitrogen and dietary questionaires concerning sodium, potassium calcium and phosphorus were taken during the two periods of summer(Aug. 1986)and winter(Feb, 1987). The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1) The daily urinary excretion of five cations, creatinine and urea nitrogen is summer and winter was as follows; The sodium content was 57.8 mEq in the summer and 59.4 mEq in the winter ; potassium 20.4 mEq and 23.0 mEq, respectively ; calcium, 5.5 mEq and 3.6 mEq, respectively ; and phosphorus, 27.4 mEq and 19.9 mEq, respectively. Only calcium and phosphours excretions in the urine showed significant differences per season(p<0.05). 2) The average dietary intake per day of sodium was 2349mg in the summer and 2155mg in the winter ; potassium consumption was 1425mg in the summer and 1448mg in the winter ; intake of calcium was 472mg in the summer and 500mg in the winter ; and phosphours consumption was 642mg in the summer and 634mg in hte winter. The sodium-to-potassium consumption ratio 1.6 and 1.5, respectively, in the summer and in the winter and the calcium-to-phosphorus ration was 0.7 in the summer and 0.8 in the winter. The dietary calcium intake showed significant differences between the seasons. 3) The principal source of sodium consumption among preschool children was from seasoning-including talbe salt, soy sauce and instant sauce-which accounted for higher then 45% of the sodium intake in both seasons. The main source of potassium was frutis and vegetables which accounted for 29.6% of the potassium intake in the summer and 25.7% in the winter. Milk and milk products were the primary dource of calcium(higher then 40% in both seasons) 4) In the summer, urinary phosphours levels were weakly reated to systolic blood pressures. (0.05

Purpose of this study was to investigate correlation between blood pressure(systolic and diastolic) and dietary Na, K intake pattern in the family members of normal and hypertension disease patients, besides patients themselves. Mean values of $systolic(126.6\pm18.0$ vs $119.3\pm17.2mmHg)$ and diastolic $(77.6\pm14.6$ vs $71.6\pm12.5mmHg)$ blood pressure in the family members of hypertension patients were significantly higher than those of normal subjects. Systolic blood pressure in normal subject group was positively correlated with age, body weight, sodium in soybean paste, and was negatively correlated with potassium in hotpepper paste, soybean paste and meats. Systolic blood pressure in the family member of hypertension patient was positively correlated with age, body weight, sodium in soybean Paste, and table salt intake, but urinary potassium excretion was negatively correlated. Diastolic blood pressure was positively correlated with age, body weight, and table salt intake, and was negatively correlated with potassium in hotpepper paste and soybean paste in normal subjects groups. In the family members of hypertension patients group, diastolic blood pressure was positively correlated with age, body weight, and table salt intake, and was negatively correlated with sodium in hotpepper Paste and soybean paste and urinary potassium excretion. In total, tendency of negative correlation between Na intake pattern and systolic blood pressure in normal subjects was much obvious than that in the family members of hypertension patients. Urinary potassium excretion in the family members of hypertension patients was also negatively correlated with both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Hypertension often leads to cardiovascular disease and kidney disease, and hypertention is an important worldwide problem. Body mass index (BMI) has an important role for raising blood pressure. Further, hypertension can be affected by both environmental factors and genetic factors. Many single nucleotide polymorphisms have been associated with hypertension. Genome wide association study (GWAS) is a method of confirming a new locus of increasing the risk of disease, and GWAS has confirmed several single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that are associated with high blood pressure. This study analyzed the relationship between systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and SNP of the ATP2B1 gene in 994 Koreans. SNPs that showed the highest statistical significance with systolic and diastolic blood pressures were selected on the multiple linear regression analysis. One-way analysis of variance for systolic and diastolic blood pressures was performed, and multiple logistic regression analysis was performed on the risk of hypertension. The P values were two-tailed, and P<0.05 was considered significant. Four SNPs were associated with systolic blood pressure and six SNPs were associated with diastolic blood pressure. In addition, a genotype-based analysis showed significant odds ratios for the risk of hypertension in older men (adjusted OR, 5.743; 95% CI, 1.173~28.121; P=0.031). This study suggests that the ATP2B1 variants affect both the systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
