The design of the current based on HFC using model reference and the estimation of the speed based on neural network using ANN controller. In order to maximize the efficiency in such applications, this paper proposes the optimal control method of the armature current. The controllable electrical loss which consists of the copper loss and the iron loss can be minimized by the optimal control of the armature current. The minimization of loss is possible to realize efficiency optimization control for the proposed IPMSM The optimal current can be decided according to the operating speed and the load conditions. • This paper presents a new approach to evaluate reliability indices of electric distribution systems using genetic Algorithm (GA). The use of reliability evaluation is an important aspect of distribution system planning and operation to adjust the reliability level of each area. In this paper, the reliability model is based on the optimal load transforming problem to minimize load generated load point outage in each sub-section. This approach is one of the most difficult procedures and become combination problems. A new approach using GA was developed for this problem. GA is a general purpose optimization technique based on principles inspired from the biological evolution using metaphors of mechanisms such as natural selection, genetic recombination and survival of the fittest. Test results for the model system with 24 nodes 29 branches are reported in the paper.

  • Techniques for mismatch loss minimization to increase the PV system efficiency are under development recently. In this paper, a method to make diagnosis of PV module mismatch is presented, which uses a concept of operating point factor. The method is based on the fact that the ratio of the incremental conductance of a PV module to instantaneous conductance is 1 when the module is operating at its maximum power point. The variations of module voltage and current are taking place by the maximum power point tracker in the power conditioning units of PV system. The effectiveness of the method is verified through an application to a real PV system.

  • Since the DirectTV started its digital broadcasting services in 1994 for the first time in the U.S., digital broadcasting widened its services in many areas. In korea, TIT(Transport Information Technology) based IP-TV services have been provided in Saemaeul trains and some sections of subway trains. But the software systems for the service performed in alternated fashions and suffered from many problems such as suspension, memory leaking and overflow. These problems increased playback loss time and resulted in bad reliabilities. In this paper, a software TIT monitor is designed and implemented for the TIT system in physically poor environments. The designed system formalized monitoring time intervals for effective monitoring. Through the real experiments, playback time is improved in 14% comparing to existing system.

  • In this paper the order picking problem in warehouses is considered, a topic which has received considerable attention from the international academic body in recent years. The order picking problem deals with the retrieval of order items from prespecified locations in the warehouse, and its objective is usually the minimization of travel time or travel distance. Hence, a well-thought order picking policy in combination with an appropriate storage policy will enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce operational costs. This paper starts with a literature overview summarizing approaches to routing order pickers, assigning stock-keeping units to pick locations and designing warehouse layouts. Since the layout design might affect both storage and routing policies, the three factors are interdependent with respect to order picking performance. To test these interdependencies, a simulation experiment was set up, involving two types of warehouse layout, four types of storage policy, five well-known heuristics and five sizes of order picking list. Our results illustrate that from the point of view of order picking distance minimization it is recommended to equip the warehouse with a third cross aisle, although this comes at the cost of a certain space loss. Additionally, we propose a set of most appropriate matches between order picking heuristics and storage policies. Finally, we give some directions for further research and recommend an integrated approach involving all factors that affect warehouse efficiency.

  • In this paper, to optimize the average delay and power allocation (PA) for system users, we propose a resource scheduling scheme for wireless networks based on Cyclic Prefix Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CP-OFDM) according to the first fifth-generation standards. For delay minimization, we solve a throughput maximization problem that considers CPOFDM systems with carrier aggregation (CA). Regarding PA, we consider an approach that involves maximizing goodput using an effective signal-to-noise ratio. An algorithm for jointly solving delay minimization through computation of required user rates and optimizing the power allocated to users is proposed to compose the resource allocation approach. In wireless network simulations, we consider a scenario with the following capabilities: CA, 256-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation, millimeter waves above 6 GHz, and a radio frame structure with 120 KHz spacing between the subcarriers. The performance of the proposed resource allocation algorithm is evaluated and compared with those of other algorithms from the literature using computational simulations in terms of various Quality of Service parameters, such as the throughput, delay, fairness index, and loss rate.

  • In this paper, 2.4GHz RF Module using Even Harmonic Mixer(EHM) was designed and fabricated for Direct conversion(DC) system. By minimizing performance degradation of DC system with DC offset and LO radiation, the capability of minimization and one chip solution in wireless system was proposed. The designed EHM using anti-parallel diode pair represented 9dB conversion loss and about -60dBm 2LO leakage radiation in RF port, and output reflection and reverse transmission characteristic of low noise amplifier was improved. So superior DC offset suppression characteristic is expected. RF Module which consists of EHM, LNA, RF amplifier, Frequency synthesizer and Duplexer was designed and fabricated.
