In this paper, we present a new adaptive filter structure which is based on polyphase decomposition of the filter to be adapted. This structure uses wavelet transform to acquire transform-domain coefficients of the input signal. With this coefficients RLS algorithm is used for adaptation. Particularly, using the polyphase parallel structure, we can trace the system which has very long impulse response with only increasing the subband, and show that computational savings can be achieved. The proposed structure was applied to system identification for performance estimation and compared with fullband adaptive filter.
This paper generalizes the classic two-stage multicommodity distribution system design problem to the one that includes plant locations as well as distribution center locations. Accommodating plant location leads to subproblems which are mixed are mixed integer. Hence. no LP-type subproblems are avail-able, and therefore standard Benders decomposition no longer applies. We develop new solution method which combines an integer L-shaped method with Benders decomposition to suit the purpose, and pre-sent the test results.
A decentralized robust EA(eigensoucture assignment) controller is designed for an active suspension system of a vehicle based on a full car model with 7-degree of freedom. Using overlapping decomposition, the full car model is decentralized by two half car models. For each half car model, a robust eigenstructure assignment controller can be obtained by using optimization approach. The performance of the decentralized robust EA controller is compared with that of a conventional centralized EA controller through computer simulations.
Even if there are no causing factors such as car crash and road works, traffic congestion come from traffic growth on the road. In this case, estimation of traffic flow helps find the solution of traffic congestion problem. In this paper, we present a optimization model which used on traffic equilibrium problem and studied the problem of inverting shortest path sets for complex traffic system. And we also develop pivotal decomposition algorithm for reliability function of complex traffic system. Several examples are illustrated.
Harmonic/inter-harmonic detection and analysis is an important issue in power system signal processing. This paper proposes a fast algorithm based on matching pursuit (MP) sparse signal decomposition, which can be employed to extract the harmonic or inter-harmonic components of a distorted electric voltage/current signal. In the MP iterations, the method extracts harmonic/inter-harmonic components in order according to the spectrum peak. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and nonlinear optimization techniques are used in the decomposition to realize fast and accurate estimation of the parameters. First, the frequency estimation value corresponding to the maxim spectrum peak in the present residual is obtained, and the phase corresponding to this frequency is searched in discrete sinusoids dictionary. Then the frequency and phase estimations are taken as initial values of the unknown parameters for Nelder-Mead to acquire the optimized parameters. Finally, the duration time of the disturbance is determined by comparing the inner products, and the amplitude is achieved according to the matching expression of the harmonic or inter-harmonic. Simulations and actual signal tests are performed to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

In digital signal processing, the polyphase decomposition of signal has been often used in the implementation of multirate system. Especially, in the design of digital filter and so forth the method in very useful to improve the performance of various algorithms because it provides the multi-channel for paralled processing. Generally, the polyphase-decomposed signals tend to expand the frequency band by including more high frequencies than original signal from decimation for down sampling. This property brings about the significant limitation in the structure or the performance of digital polyphase signal processing system. In this paper we theoretically propose a perfect band compression and reconstruction method for polyphase component signals, then experimentally show its effectiveness through Matlab simulation.

This study investigated the thermogravimetric analysis of two types of cured tannin-based adhesives from wattle and pine, with three hardeners of paraformaldehyde, hexamethylenetetramine and TN (tris(hydroxyl)nitromethan), at a temperature of 170℃ and a heating rate of 5, 10, 20 and 40℃/min for 10 minutes. The 5 minutes cured wattle tannin-based adhesive with each hardener at 170℃ was also tested to compare the degree of curing. It was found that thermogravimetric analysis could be used to measure the degree of curing of a thermosetting adhesive. The TG-DTG curves of all the adhesive systems were similar and showed three steps in a similar way to a phenolic resin. This means that each adhesive system is well cross-linked. However, a high thermal decomposition rate was shown at 150 to 400℃ in the case of the pine tannin sample with TN (tris(hydroxyl)nitromethan). The Flynn & Wall expression was used to evaluate the activation energy for thermal decomposition. As the level of conversion (𝛼) increased, the activation energy of each system increased. The activation energy of the wattle tannin-based adhesive with paraformaldehyde was higher than the others.
A novel integrated optimization method based on the Generalized Bender’s Decomposition (GBD) is proposed to combine both generation and transmission expansion problems. Most of existing researches on the integrated expansion planning based on the GBD theory incorporate DC power flow model to guarantee the convergence and improve the computation time. Inherently the GBD algorithm based on DC power flow model cannot consider variables and constraints related bus voltages and reactive power. In this paper, an integrated optimization method using the GBD algorithm based on a linearized AC power flow model is proposed to resolve aforementioned drawback. The proposed method has been successfully applied to Garver’s six-bus system and the IEEE 30-bus system which are frequently used power systems for transmission expansion planning studies.

SThis paper proposes a new dispatch scheduling algorithm in interconnected regional system operations. The dispatch scheduling formulated as mixed integer non-linear programming (MINLP) problem can efficiently be computed by generalized Benders decomposition (GBD) algorithm. GBD guarantees adequate computation speed and solution convergency since it decomposes a primal problem into a master problem and subproblems for simplicity. In addition, the inter-temporal optimal power flow (OPF) subproblem of the dispatch scheduling problem is comprised of various variables and constraints considering time-continuity and it makes the inter-temporal OPF complex due to increased dimensions of the optimization problem. In this paper, regional decomposition technique based on auxiliary problem principle (APP) algorithm is introduced to obtain efficient inter-temporal OPF solution through the parallel implementation. In addition, it can find the most economic dispatch schedule incorporating power transaction without private information open. Therefore, it can be expanded as an efficient dispatch scheduling model for interconnected system operation.
