  • This paper presents a detailed characteristic of reluctance synchronous motor (RSM) which has a axially laminated anisotropic (ALA) structure of the rotor. First of all, the analysis of a magnetic circuit field between stator and rotor should be achieved in order to predict the performance characteristics of the RSM. For the analysis of a magnetic circuit field, the finite element (FE) analysis is used. The analytical result of the inductance, flux distribution, vector potential and simulation results shows along with the load condition.

  • This paper deals with the stator design solution of a synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) with various slot numbers by loss & torque characteristics related to the slot open and teeth width using coupled Preisach modeling & FEM. The coupled Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) & Preisach model have been used to evaluate the nonlinear solution. Comparisons are given with characteristics of SynRM according to stator winding, slot number, slot open and teeth width variation.

  • This paper deals with the characteristic analysis & optimum design of Permanent Magnet Assisted Synchronous Reluctance Motor(PMASynRM) for Premium Efficiency Performance. The focus of this paper is characteristic analysis of d and q-axis inductances and torque according to magnetizing quantity of interior permanent magnet for PMASynRM. The d and q-axis current component ratios, load angles of a PMASynRM are investigated quantitatively on the basis of the proposed analysis method and the experimental test. Comparisons are given with output characteristic curves of normal SynRM and those according to the load in PMASynRM, respectively. And optimum design of PMASynRM is performed by Response Surface Methodology(RSM).

  • This paper deals with the loss analysis and efficiency evaluations in a synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) using a coupled transient finite element method (FEM) and Preisach modeling, which is presented to analyze the characteristics under the effect of saturation and hysteresis loss. The focus of this paper is the efficiency evaluation relative to hysteresis loss, copper loss, etc. on the basis of speed, load condition in a SynRM. Computer simulation and experimental result for the efficiency using dynamometer show the propriety of the proposed method.

  • This paper deals with an automatic design procedure for the maximum torque density and power factor in a synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM). The focus of this paper is the design relative to the number of flux barrier and the ratio Kw of flux barrier width to iron sheet width of a SynRM under the mechanical constraint. The Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) has been used to evaluate the maximum torque density and power factor with each rotor shape. The proposed procedure allows to define the rotor geometric dimensions starling from an existing mootor or a preliminary design. The maximum torque density and power factor of a SynRM has been resulted with the rotor design variation. To prove the propriety of the designed SynRM, the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) installed experimental devices are equipped and the efficiency characteristic test is Performed.

  • This paper is proposed an efficiency optimization control algorithm for a synchronous reluctance motor(SynRM) which minimizes the copper and iron losses. ALso, this paper presents a sensorless control scheme of SynRM using artificial neural network(ANN). The proposed algorithm allows the electromagnetic losses in variable speed and torque drives to be reduced while keeping good torque control dynamics. The control performance of ANN is evaluated by analysis for various operating conditions. Analysis results are presented to show the validity of the proposed algorithm

  • This paper deals with optimum design criteria to minimize the torque ripple of a concentrated winding Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The feasibility of using RSM with the finite element method (FEM) in practical engineering problem is investigated with computational examples and comparison between the fitted response and the results obtained from an analytical solution according to the design variables of stator and rotor in concentrated winding SynRM (6slot).

  • 현재 세계는 각종 에너지에 대한 연구가 치열하게 진행되고 있는 가운데 각 기계들의 에너지 효율등급이 엄격하게 규제되고 있다. 전동기 분야에서는 사용 용도에 따라서는 영구자석을 쓰지 않는 유도기가 주목을 받았다. 하지만 유도전동기는 가공이 쉽지 않고 동일 사이즈에서 출력이 동기 릴럭턴스 전동기(Synchronous Reluctance Motor; SynRM)보다 낮기 때문에 현재 국내외 전동기 시장에서는 SynRM이 주목받고 있으며 현재 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문은 30kW급 팬 부하용 SynRM 설계에 관해 논문이다. 기존에 사용되었던 유도 전동기를 대체하기 위해 전동기의 자속장벽의 형상에 따라서 어떠한 효과가 있는지에 대해 연구하고 앞으로의 SynRM의 회전자 형상 설계 방법을 제시한다.

  • This paper presents an implementation of Direct torque control(DTC) of Reluctance Synchronous Motor(RSM) drives for an industrial servo drive system with stator current space vector. The estimation of the stator flux magnitude are obtained by using the neural network from measuring the modulus and angle of the stator current space vector. The develolled digitally high-performance control system are shown a good response characteristic of control results and high performance features using 1.0kW RSM.

  • Many harmonics components are contained within the stator currents of the high-speed synchronous reluctance motor, SynRM, with salient pole rotor. They cause the power factor of SynRM to get worse. In this paper, the mathematical model of SynRM is investigated, and SV_PWM control method is applied to reduce harmonics components in the stator current. Simulation results show the fast response of speed and the reduction of harmonics components at steady state.
