스트러트 삽입에 의한 이젝터의 효율상승에 관한 연구 (The improvement of Ejector Performance by Inserting a Strut)

  • The ejector system is used for making a vacuum in an enclosed tank. This research represents the method to improve ejector performance by inserting a strut at the center of ejector outlet. This proposed ejector system is so simple and have a low cost to improve the ejector performance. There are many kinds of method for obtaining a lower vacuum pressure. The ejector is consists of nozzle, straight pipe and outlet diffuser and we focused on the outlet diffuser for high ejector performance. The strut is located at the center of ejector outlet diffuser. As the experimental result, we compared the vacuum pressure with and without a strut and without strut, and the ejector performance showed an improvement with 40% or more than the case without strut. This means that the stable fluid low energy loss was obtained by inserting the strut.

선회분류 연소로의 연소 생성물 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Combustion Products of Swirling Furnace)

  • This paper describes the effects of combustion parameters on the characteristics of combustion products in swirling flow furnace. The concentration of combustion products and temperature distribution of flow field in the furnace have been investigated by numerical method. The fuel was injected into the furnace and the swirling device was constructed with three kinds of vane swirler at inlet port of furnace. The results of this study showed that the effect of combustion parameters on the concentration characteristics of carbon monoxide and nitrogen monoxide of combustion products. It was found that the pollutant formation wad dependent on the equivalence ratio and swirl intensity level.

  • The Samsung Techwin has been developed the various types of combustor and fuel nozzle frontal devices for the aero engine and small scale industrial gas turbines. Currently, we have been developed the highly heat capacity and long-lived gas turbine combustor based on the short-lived combustor and fuel injector technologies. In this paper, the market trends and the information on the survey of an advanced gas turbine combustor were introduced for the development of large scale gas turbine combustor and fuel nozzle assembly.

  • An experimental investigation on the reduction of nitrogen oxide emission from swirling, turbulent diffusion flames was conducted using multi air staged combustor, The combustor utilizes swirler to dampen fuel/air mixing, allowing an extended residence time for fuel pyrolysis and fuel-N conversion chemistry in an locally fuel-rich environment prior to burnout. This process also allow to reduce thermal NOx formation to lessen the temperature of reaction zone. The aerodynamic process therefore emulates the conventional staged combustion process, but without the need for the physically separate fuel-rich and -lean stages. Parametric studies on the ratios of each staged air and droplet size were carried out the feasibility of fuel/air mixing for low NOx combustion with diesel and pyridine mixed diesel fuel oil.

  • The basic experiments for designing the effective gas turbine combustor were performed. There are several factors that define the characteristics of gas turbine combustor. Among them, experiment was focused on swirl effects by three types of swirler with different swirl numbers(0.0, 0.38, and 0.62). Particularly, an interest was concentrated on primary zone where the flame characteristics of total combustor was dominated strongly and secondary zone where the remaining unburned gas was reacted again or cooling effect was done according to degree of swirl intensity. For this study, following measurements have been carried out, that is, time mean and fluctuating temperature, exhaust gas composition including NO concentration, and ion current. From this study, it was found that swirl intensity affects largely not only flame style but also emission formation, furthermore that it is important to select proper swirl intensity.

가스터빈 기화기의 분무 가시화 연구 (Spray Visualization of the Gas Turbine Vaporizer)

  • Spray visualization of a vaporizer fuel injection system of a micro turbo jet engine was experimentally studied. The fuel heating by combustion was simulated by the high pressure steam generator and combustor inlet air from the centrifugal compressor was simulated by compressed air stored in the high pressure air tank. Spray visualization was performed with single vaporizer, and then six vaporizers which are same number of micro turbojet engine were used. As a results, the spray characteristics of the vaporizer were understood with pressure difference of the combustor inlet air and the fuel supply pressure. Spray angles with three types of vaporizer configuration were measured. In the results, guide vane configuration has a wider spray angle than the straight tube and smooth curve tube with a swirler, so it is expected that the fuel will be effectively distributed inside the combustor flame tube.

  • 비예혼합 화염의 안정성에 관한 종래의 연구는 연료노즐이나 퀄의 형상에 초점을 많은 맞추어 왔으나 화염안정화에 중요한 연료의 후퇴거리 및 공기노즐의 홀 형상에 대한 연구는 상대적으로 부족하여 이에 관한 연구가 절실한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 메탄 분류 후퇴거리 및 2 차 공기의 홀 형상에 따른 연소특성을 관찰하기 위해 동축 삼중관 형태의 버너를 설계하였다. 1 차 공기는 스월러를 통하여 분류하였고, 2 차 공기는 홀 형상 및 슬릿 형상의 각 노즐로부터 분류되었다. 본 연구에 사용된 실험실 스케일 버너로부터 2 차 공기의 유속은 화염의 형태에 영향을 끼치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 후퇴거리의 경우 공급관외경의 절반에 해당하는 거리로 설정했을 때 화염이 안정적으로 존재하고, 휘도는 더욱 높아짐을 알 수 있었다.

모형연소기에서 연료-공기의 혼합정도 및 당량비가 NOx 배출과 열 방출량에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (Effect of the Degree of Fuel-Air Mixing and Equivalence Ratio on the NOx Emission and Heat Release in a Dump Combustor)

  • Lean premixed combustors are used for significant NOx reduction which one of issues in current gas turbine combustor. This study was investigated to estimate the effects of the unmixedness of fuel-air, equivalence ratio on the instability mechanism, NOx emission and combustion oscillation in a lean premixed combustor. The experiments were conducted in a dump combustor at atmospheric pressure conditions using methane as fuel. The swirler angle was $45^{\circ}$, the degrees of fuel-air mixing were 0, 50 and 100 and inlet temperature was 650K. The equivalence ratio was ranging from 0.5 to 0.8. This paper shows that NOx emission was increased when the degree of fuel-air mixing is increased in same equivalence ratio and when equivalence ratio is increased. And the range of the combustion instability was enlarged as a function of increasing of the degree of fuel-air mixing.

공기다단 적용 석유코크스 연료 전용 연소기에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Petroleum Cokes Air Staged Burner)

  • This study is aimed to study combustion characteristics of low $NO_X$ burner using petroleum cokes as fuel. The petroleum coke, which is produced through the oil refining process, is an attractive fuel in terms of its high heating value and relatively low price. But petroleum coke is a challenging fuel because of its low volatile content, high sulfur and nitrogen content, which give rise to undesirable emission characteristics and low ignitability. The petroleum cokes burner is operated at fuel rich condition, and overfire air are supplied to achieve fuel lean condition. The low $NO_X$ burner is designed to control fuel and air mixing to achieve air staged combustion, in addition secondary and tertiary air are supplied through swirler. Air distribution ratio of triple staged air are optimized experimentally. The result showed that $NO_X$ concentration is lowest when overfire air is used, and the burner function at a fuel rich condition.

  • The probability density functions (PDF) of temperature were measured by coherent anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy (CARS) in flames of gas turbine combustor sector rig of an aero-engine. The combustor was operated at simulated ground idle conditions with standard kerosene fuel. Temperature PDFs had been measured near fuel nozzle with change of rotation of a swirler and existence of a prefilmer. The characteristic features of temperature PDFs showed the variation of combustion configurations at four experimental conditions. Without a prefilmer, large recirculation of high temperature gas was expected in the co-flow condition and un vaporized fuel fragments were detected in the counter-flow condition. With a prefilmer, the enhanced mixing increased combustion intensity near fuel nozzle in the counter-flow condition and the flame was attached far from the fuel nozzle in the co-flow condition.
