In the prior study, wool gabardines were treated with alkaline proteases which were some kinds of enzyme to decompose protein, and their tensile strengths were determined, and the surface of the fibers were also observed using a scanning electron microscope. Enzylon ASN 30 and Alkalase 2.5L DX did not show much effect on the weight loss of wool, however, the weight loss of wool increased considerably with treating Esperase 8.0L. Pretreatment of wool with dichloloisocyanuric acid before protease-treatment increased the weight loss of wool to a great extent. In this study, the enzyme treated wools dyeing behaviors with acid dye, Milling Cyanine 5R, were mainly investigated. The protease-treatment remarkably increased not only the rate of dyeing but also the saturation dye uptake. From these results, it seemed likely that the structural relaxation of adhesive filler of interscale or intercellular cement facilitated the dye penetration into the fibers, at the same time, the change in the inner structure of the wool fibers by the protease made the fixation of the dyes more efficient.
Many cell types are known to stimulate $CD8^+$ T cells in allogeneic recognition such as mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR). Whereas dendritic cells are most potent among them. T cells are usually considered very poor in stimulating $CD8^+$ T cells although there are some tumor cells that are weakly stimulatory. T cells, as a stimulator, cultured in the presence of concanavalin A that were otherwise nonstimulatory to $CD8^+$ T cells appeared to stimulate $CD8^+$ T cells strongly when they were pretreated with neuraminidase. The enhancement of MLR by neuraminidase could be achieved by treating either the stimulators or responders with neuraminidase. Removal of negatively-charged sialic acid moieties from the cell surface, which reduced electrostatic repulsion between responders and stimulators to give better cell-cell contact might be responsible for the enhanced MLR. In addition, neuraminidase treatment also appeared to deliver activation signal to responding T cells since it could activate $CD8^+$ T cells in synergy with phorbol myristate acetate. The maximal responses were observed when both responders and stimulators were treated with neuraminidase.
The alkali treated and black dyed PET fabrics were sputter etched under Ar gas atmosphere. The color depth of PET fabrics were increased with sputter etching time only under some limits of discharge power. And above that limits of discharge power the color depth of PET fabrics was decreased by increasing discharge power and treatment time. Minute cracks were made by sputter etching in the whole surface of fabrics to the direction of perpendicular to the longitudinal side of yarns. The fineness and density of minute crack were increased with lowering discharge power. And the size of crack was far smaller than that of microcrater which was obtained by alkali treatment. It is considered that the increase of color depth is related to the minute crack. The water permeation time of sputter etched fabrics was increased with increasing discharge power and treating time. The increase of color depth attained by sputter etching was fully kept through repeated laundering.
For many practical and industrial optimization problems where some or all of the system components are stochastic, the objective functions cannot be represented analytically. Therefore, modeling by computer simulation is one of the most effective means of studying such complex systems. In this paper, with discussion of simulation optimization techniques, a case study in machining process for application of simulation optimization is presented. Most of optimization techniques can be classified as single-or multiple-response techniques. The optimization of single-response category, these strategies are gradient based search methods, stochastic approximate method, response surface method, and heuristic search methods. In the multiple-response category, there are basically five distinct strategies for treating the responses and finding the optimum solution. These strategies are graphical method, direct search method, constrained optimization, unconstrained optimization, and goal programming methods. The choice of the procedure to employ in simulation optimization depends on the analyst and the problem to be solved.

The morphology of Poly(styrene-b-methylmethacrylate) (P(S-b-MMA)) block copolymer thin films deposited on silicon wafers was controlled by treating the substrates with Self-Assembled Monolayers (SAM) of phenylsilanes with different alkyl chain lengths. It was found that the treatment with SAM strongly modified the substrates properties, especillay the surface energy, as compared with bare silicon oxide. By futher adjusting the molecular weight of P(S-b-MMA), a variety of morphologies could be generated, including a perpendicular orientation of lamellea of PS and PMMA, which is required for industrial applications.
High temperature wear behaviors of plasma-sprayed ZrO$_{2}$-$Y_{2}O_{3}$ composite coatings were investigated for high temperature wear resistance applications. The composite powders containing 20, 50, 80 vol% of alumina for plasma spray were made by spray drying method. Wear tests with composite coated specimens were performed at temperature ranges from room temperature to 800$^{\circ}$C. Wear tests were also carried out with heat treated specimens at room temperature. The microstructural change of coatings and the worn surface were examined by SEM and XRD. Sharp increase of wear loss at high temperature wear test was observed in specimens containing 50 and 80 vol% alumina. Similar trend was observed in the heat treated coatings. The measured residual stress was increased with increased alumina contents and heat treating temperatures. Residual stress induced during heat treatment appeared to be responsible to the observed harmful effect of alumina additions on the high temperature wear.

Constructed wetlands have become a popular technology for treating contaminated surface and wastewater. In this study, the field experiment to reduce nonpoint source pollution from watershed runoff during rainy day using wetland and pond. TSS and T-N removal rate of wetland-pond system and pond-wetland system was 91% and 73%, 94% and 70%, respectively and values were same range. $BOD_5$ and T-P removal rate of pond-wetland system (38% and 78%) was higher than wetland-pond system (27% and 62%). overall, pond-wetland system is more useful than wetland-pond system to control NPS.

The radiative heat transfer analysis in particle layer has an inherent difficulty in treating the governing integro-differential equations, which are derived from the remote effects. Most of the existing analyses are limited to the one dimensional system, taking into account only absorption or isotropic scatting of solid particles. Fortunately, a new Monte Carlo Simulation method is recently developed to analyse multidimensional radiative heat transfer in particles with anisotropically scatting. By this method, the present study analyses the radiative heat transfer in dispersed particles through the numerous droplets in the liquid droplet radiator to develop a technique of liquid droplet radiator. Consequently, knows that the radiative heat flux in particle layer is influenced by exitinction coefficient, optical thickness and surface area of particles in the system.

In this study, the solubilization of dense nonaqueous phase liquid (DNAPL) using oil-based emulsion was investigated for aquifer remediation. The micro-sized oil emulsion has large surface areas and buoyancy force, therefore it can be effective in treating DNAPL pool of the aquifer without downward migration of DNAPLs. The emulsion was prepared using silicone oil and mechanical homogenization. And the prepared emulsion had micro-sized similar distribution: 99 % in number and 80 % in volume were less than 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. As target pollutants, trichloroethylene and 1, 2 dichlorobenzene were selected. All of used DNAPLs were solubilized successfully in oil-based emulsion. Even at low oil percentage, emulsion showed good solubility against pollutants. Therefore, the remediation using oil-based emulsion was considered as an effective alternative in dealing with DNAPLs of the aquifer.
We examined the antimicrobial effects of the cotton fabrics which were laundered at different conditions and treated with a colloidal silver solution using Staphylococcus aureus. Colloidal silver solution was made from commercial colloidal silver generator by electrolysis. The fabric which was innoculated and washed with water before drying had no more Staphylococcus aureus, but which was innoculated and dried before washing with detergent solution had lower reduction rate. The fabric washed with oxygen bleach did not have an antimicrobial effect, but rinsed with 0.07% fabric softener showed antimicrobial properties. The fabric rinsed with 0.7ppm colloidal silver solution had better antimicrobial effects. As the treating concentration of silver solution increased, the antimicrobial property of the fabric was increased. The fabric treated with 5% silver solution sustained reflectance and whiteness of untreated fabric. The colloidal silver treated fabric lost antimicrobial property after washing because nano-sized silver particles were located on uneven fiber surface without chemical bonding forces.
