이온도움반응법에 의한 탄소섬유복합재의 트라이볼로지 특성연구 (Tribological Characteristics of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics Prepared by Ion-Assisted Reaction)

  • Carbon fiber reinforced composites(CFRP) were fabricated with phenolic resin matrix by hot press molding, and its surface was modified by the ion-assisted reaction process. When we tested the friction coefficient and wear rate variation and observed the effect of fibers with respect to friction and wear characteristics, the amount of pitch based carbon fiber was 45wt% and the average friction coefficient was the lowest at 0.12. When the amount of ion-irradiation was $1\times10^{l6}ions/cm^2$, the friction coefficient of the composites was about 0.12 and the wear mode was stable, whereas, the friction coefficient of the non-treated composites was about 0.16 and the wear mode was very unstable. But if the amount of ion-irradiation was $5\times10^{l6}ions/cm^2$$1\times10^{l6}ions/cm^2$ion-irradiation case.

등속조인트용 그리스 마찰특성 연구 (Research on Friction Characteristics of Constant Velocity Joint Grease)

  • A GAF (generated axial force) is produced at a plunging-type CVJ (constant velocity joint). A high GAF can cause vibrations in a vehicle. Grease is used to reduce friction between the roller and the track of the outer case of a CVJ. The grease performance depends on the surface conditions and operating temperature. The surface of the outer case is extremely rough and hard. In recent times, the maximum operating temperature of CVJs has crossed $140^{\circ}C$, because the exhaust line is now located close to the CVJ. In this study, we examined the friction characteristics of friction additives at $25-150^{\circ}C$ and determined an optimal formulation with a low friction coefficient. This formulation can be used to develop low-friction grease that can reduce the GAF produced at a CVJ by approximately 7-26%.

  • FTMP(friction thermo-mechanical process) is an adaptation of friction stir welding, and can be used as a generic process to modify the microstructure at selective locations. In this study, in order to analyze characteristics of surface modification of ACA4 castings by FTMP, change of rotating speed(R/S) and traveling speed(T/S) of tool were applied as conditional parameter. Analysis of microstructure, hardness, surface roughness and depth of modified zone(MZ) were searched. The best condition were obtained at R/S 600 rpm and T/S 100 mm/min. At this time, hardness was 82 HV, the surface roughness was 0.07 mm and the depth at MZ was 1.72 mm. Free defects microstructure and fine Si particles formation and strong forging effects were analyzed at MZ.

점진성형공구 코팅처리 및 소재에 따른 성형품 표면품질 분석 (Surface Quality of Products according to the Material and Coating Condition of the Forming Tool in Incremental Sheet Forming)

  • This study is concerned with the surface quality of products according to the material and coating condition of the forming tool in incremental sheet forming. Three forming tools, SKD11 with and without diamond-like-coating (DLC) and polymer tool tip, were used to form conical and pyramidal geometries to take into account the influence of friction between the forming tool and the sheet on the surface quality including geometric accuracy of deformed samples. Each test was performed using SUS304 with a thickness of 0.4 mm according to different incremental depths per lap of 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, and 1.5 mm for the contour tool path, considering the increase in normal force which is associated with the frictional behavior during local deformation. The surface quality was then investigated through surface roughness measured with KEYENCE VR-6000 and relative strain distribution including deformed shape analyzed with ARGUS which is a non-contact optical strain measurement system. Differences between 3D CAD surfaces and captured geometry from experiments were evaluated to compare the effect of friction on geometric accuracy. From comparisons of experimental results, it was revealed that the polymer-based tool tip can improve surface quality and geometric accuracy by reducing the undesired material flow due to local friction in the increment sheet forming process.

육성용접된 Inconel 718 합금의 마찰교반을 이용한 개질처리 효과 (Effect of Surface Modification by Friction Stir Process on Overlap Welded Inconel 718 Alloy)

  • To evaluate the development of the microstructure and mechanical properties on surface modified and post-heattreated Inconel 718 alloy, this study was carried out. A friction stir process as a surface modification method was employed, and overlap welded Inconel 718 alloy as an experimental material was selected. The friction stir process was carried out at a tool rotation speed of 200 rpm and tool down force of 19.6-39.2 kN; post-heat-treatment with two steps was carried out at $720^{\circ}C$ for 8 h and $620^{\circ}C$ for 6 h in vacuum. To prevent the surface oxidation of the specimen, the method of using argon gas as shielding was utilized during the friction stir process. As a result, applying the friction stir process was effective to develop the grain refinement accompanied by dynamic recrystallization, which resulted in enhanced mechanical properties as compared to the overlap welded material. Furthermore, the post-heat-treatment after the friction stir process accelerated the formation of precipitates, such as gamma prime (${\gamma}^{\prime}$) and MC carbides, which led to the significant improvement of mechanical properties. Consequently, the microhardness, yield, and tensile strengths of the post-heat-treated material were increased more than 110%, 124% and 85 %, respectively, relative to the overlap welded material. This study systematically examined the relationship between precipitates and mechanical properties.

고무 퇴적물에 의한 공항 활주로 표면 마찰계수 변화 (Variation of Friction Coefficient of Airport Runway Surface by Rubber Deposits)

  • 본 논문에서는 국내 공항 활주로에 적합한 마찰계수 측정 및 고무 퇴적물 제거에 대한 합리적 기준 개발을 위해 관련 해외 기준 및 연구결과에 관한 문헌을 조사하였다. 그리고 2007년 8월부터 2009년 7월까지ASFT(Airport Surface Friction Tester)장비를 이용하여 인천국제공항 활주로의 마찰계수를 측정하고 항공기 집중 착륙 지점에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. 타이어 고무의 퇴적 및 제거에 따른 마찰계수의 변화를 분석하였고 이에 미치는 계절적 영향을 포장 형식별로 조사하였다. 고무 퇴적물 제거 작업을 주기적으로 수행해도 활주로 표면의 마찰계수는 장기적으로 시간에 따라 점차 감소되는 것으로 확인되었다. 여름철 마찰계수의 변화가 다른 계절에 비해 컸으며 아스팔트 포장이 콘크리트 포장보다 계절적 영향에 민감했다. 매크로한 표면조직을 갖는 아스팔트 포장의 마찰계수가 마이크로한 표면조직을 갖는 재령 초기 콘크리트 포장의 마찰계수보다 큰 것으로 나타났다. 타이어 고무의 퇴적 및 제거에 따른 마찰계수의 변화도 아스팔트 포장에서 더 큰 것으로 확인되었다.

  • A systematic study of the role of transfer films on friction properties was performed with various temperatures in the brake system. An NAO friction material specimens containing 9 ingredients were tested using a pad-on-disk type friction tester A new method of measuring the transfer film thickness was developed by considering the electrical resistance of the transfer film using a 4-point probe technique. The properties of transfer film such as surface morphology and film distribution vaied according to the relative amount of graphite and magnesium oxide. By using SEM, it was possible to obtain information about the chemical composition of the transfer film. Results showed that there detected a threshold value of the relative amount of a two active materials to maintain a certiain thickness of a transfer film. Results also showed that formation of friction layer generated on the friction surface was strongly affected by chemical action of two ingredients during sliding due to chemical reaction of solid lubricants at different interface temperature. The results suggested that no apparent relationship between transfer film thickness and the average friction coefficient was founded and friction characteristics were affected more by the property of the solid lubricant and abrasive in the material.

자동차용 마찰재에 함유된 세라믹분말의 함량에 따른 마찰특성 (Friction Characteristics of Automotive Friction Materials with Ceramic Powder Contents)

  • The friction characteristics of automotive brake friction materials that contained different ceramic content were investigated. Several kinds of raw materials, such as resin-based binder, reinforcing fiber, friction restraint, abrasive, and filling materials were mixed, pressed, and heated in order to make the brake friction materials. The contents of SiC and $BaSO_4$ changed from 5 vol% to 20 vol%, respectively. In addition to this, the content of $Al_2O_3$ adjusted from 1 vol% to 16 vol%. The surface morphology of the SiC containing sample appeared rough while more debris was observed when the contents of SiC increased. This implies that the SiC containing brake composite was not adequate for the automobile. However, the relatively smooth surface was observed in samples that contained the $Al_2O_3$. But the roughness was low with a content of 11 vol% $Al_2O_3$ compared to the other samples. This is consistent with the abrasive properties of the samples. In the case of $BaSO_4$ containing samples, the smoothes surface was observed in the contents of 15 vol% $BaSO_4$. Thus, it was concluded that the 11 vol% $Al_2O_3$ and 15 vol% $BaSO_4$ containing composite would be the optimum content for the brake composite. Similar to the results of the surface morphology, the abrasion resistance consistently decreased when the content of SiC increased. On the contrary, the sample that contained 11 vol% $Al_2O_3$ and 15 vol% $BaSO_4$ showed the highest abrasion resistance compared to the other samples.

테니스화겉창과 테니스 스포츠바닥재간의 마찰관계상관 분석 (A analysis of friction relation between tennis outsole and tennis playing surfaces)

  • 마찰력(friction)은 급정지나 급출발, 또는 두 동작이 동시에 이루어질 때, 미끄럼방지는 효과적으로 이루어져야 하며, 특히 테니스, 농구, 배구 등 코트 스포츠에 있어서 최적의 마찰력은 필수적이다. 이러한 마찰력은 무게가 많이 나갈수록, 다른 물체와의 접촉면이 넓을수록, 장력이 클수록 커진다. 또한 표면이 매끄러울 때보다는 거칠수록 커지는 특성을 가지며, 본 연구의 목적은 테니스화겉창과 테니스코트에 설치되어 있는 스토츠바닥재사이에 마찰력을 대해서 고찰해 보고자 하였으며, 마찰력운동 및 이의 관련 선행 국외 연구활동이 어떻게 이루어졌는지를 종단적 국외문헌조사를 통해 어떤 상관관계가 있는지를 구명해 보고자 하였다. 국내 테니스화의 연구와 테니스스포츠바닥재간의 국외 연구활동의 종단적 연구지표로서 스포츠와 스포츠바닥재간의 마찰력 관련주요연구연표를 작성해 봄으로서 연구활동의 경과추이를 조사하였다. 테니스 바닥재 현황으로는 테니스코트의 표층재는 일반적으로 천연재료를 사용한 클레이계코트와 합성재료를 사용한 전 천후계 하드코트로 구별된다. 본 연구를 통하여 테니스화 겉창과 테니스 스포츠바닥재간의 마찰력의 국외선행연구현황 이해를 돕고, 향후 국내에서 스포츠화 겉창과 마찰력, 스포츠바닥재와 마찰력의 평가에 대한 연구시 국외에서 기 실시된 연구를 중복연구하는 시행착오 방지 및 국외 선행연구에 대한 기초자료 및 연구현황을 자세히 파악할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

수정된 직접 전단 시험기를 이용한 모래와 표면 돌출부를 갖는 플레이트 사이의 마찰 이방성에 대한 연구 (A Study on Friction Anisotropy between Sand and Surface Asperities of Plate Using Modified Direct Shear Test)

  • 마찰 방향에 따른 전단 저항의 이방성을 지반 구조물에서 선택적으로 이용할 수가 있다. 예를 들어서, 축방향으로 하중을 가하는 깊은 기초, 소일 네일링, 타이백 등은 큰 전단 저항이 유발되므로 하중 전달 능력을 증가시키지만, 이와 반대로 말뚝 관입과 흙 시료 채취 등은 최소화된 전단 저항만 유발된다. 기존 연구는 뱀 비늘의 기하학적 형상과 유사한 표면 돌출부를 갖는 플레이트와 흙 경계면에서 유발되는 전단 저항 변화를 확인하였다. 본 논문에서는 표면 돌출부의 형상에 따른 경계면 마찰각의 변화를 정량적으로 평가하였다. 수정된 직접 전단 시험기를 이용하여 상대 밀도가 40%로 조성된 모래 시료에 대해 9개의 플레이트, 2개의 전단 방향(전단 시 돌출부 높이가 증가와 감소하는 방향), 그리고 3개의 초기 수직 응력(100kPa, 200kPa, 300kPa) 조건으로 총 51가지 경우를 실험 하였다. 실험 결과, 전단 응력은 돌출부 높이가 높을수록, 돌출부 길이가 짧을수록, 돌출부 높이가 증가하는 전단 방향에서 크게 나타났다.
